Excel 2007 send by email
I an having trouble trying to e mail this and then downloading on excel 2007 is this something I can do?
Numbers files are not readable by Excel. They can be mailed, but some email clients require that they be Compressed as .zip files.
You can Export your Numbers document to Excel format and mail the resulting file. Then Save and Close your Numbers file in case you need to do further edits at a later date.

Adobe Reader & Outlook 2003/2007 send to email
I have multiple Windows XP users experiencing this problem when trying to send and PDF file through email.
Adobe-File-send through email.
Adobe and the email gets locked up with the following error message:
"Microsoft Office Outlook, The operation failed due to network or other communication problems. Check your connections and try again."
It seems that if the users send the email within 30 seconds the email sends ok but if the wait past 30 - 60 seconds thats when the above error occurs.
Microsoft said this an adobe issue and Adobe said they had the fix for Acrobat users to upgrade to version 9 but when I told them I'm using Adobe reader 9 and I have the same problem they told me adobe reader users have to use the forums for support.???
Has anybody seen this before and have you found a workaround?I have been seeing this off and on. It is rarely consistent and I have been waiting to find a PC that could reproduce this. I finally got one and was able to reproduce the issue about a dozen times back to back, often when the message has been open for a couple minutes. I have been using Windows Debug tools to isolate the culprit and capture a dmp file to analyze. In each instance of the problem a hang is produced after clicking OK to the message. This is where I have been starting the capture. In our case all the dumps of outlook.exe show the culprit as being valkyrie.dll, an add-in associated with Symantec Enterprise Vault. After disabling the add-in, the issue could not be reproduced. I am not 100% convinced though. I would like to know if other dumps outside of our environment point to the same culprit.
To capture a dmp file you will need to install the debugging tools for windows from Microsoft. Once installed, go into the folder where it is installed (C:\Program Files\Debugging Tools for Windows (x86) by default) and run adplus.vbs. Dont worry about the details now, just click OK or Yes to the prompts. You will use adplus from the command line when the issue happens. To do this:
Create the problem and click OK to the "The operation failed due to network or other communication problems. Check your connections and try again". Outlook should become unresponsive/hung up.
Open command window (Start>Run and type cmd).
Navigate to the folder where the debugging tools were installed (cd c:\program files\debugginf tools for windows (x86))
Create a dmp file by running the following: adplus -hang -pn outlook.exe(-hang will tell adplus that a there is a hung application you wish to dump and -pn specifies the process name)
A dialog box will indicate that a folder has been created in the windows debugging folder. It will be named something like Hang_Mode__Date_... The date and time will correspond to the date and time of when the dump took place. Go into this folder and verify there is a .dmp file. The name of the file corresponds to the process ID of the process, the process name, and date and time. The file can be fairly large since it consists of a memory dump.
To analyze this file, open Windbg from the exe or from Start>Programs>Debugging Tools for Windows>WinDbg.
Go to File>Open Crash Dump and locate the file above.
Dont worry about all the jiberish you initially see. In the empty line at the bottom run the following command: !analyze -v. While the file is being analyzed, the status message will say BUSY. Dont worry about the "Error: Symbol file could not be found..."
Look for the FAULTING_MODULE and MODULE_NAME. In our case the culprit this was ntdll and Valkyrie. As mentioned above, Valkyrie.dll is associated with the Symantec Enterprise add-in and this is what we are currently looking at with Symantec.
This is an example of the dump:
I would be interested to know what results you have found. -
Can't send Excel 2007 File via Send To Email Option after Acrobat Install
Normally, you can send an Excel 2007 file via email to someone by going to the Send option on the Excel file menu and choosing "Email." This will email an actual copy of the Excel 2007 file. However, since installing Adobe Acrobat 9 pro on my computer, this option, as well as the option to send to XPS are gone -- the only email option I have on that menu is to convert the file to a PDF and email it.
It seems to me that Acrobat should ADD options to menus but not remove any! Does anyone know how I can get those missing options (especially the one to email the actual file itself) back? I've tried Googling up a solution, but to no avail so far.
Thanks, in advance, for any help!
LauraThanks for taking the time to respond, Aditya!
I saw that MS support article when I was trying to solve this issue on my own, but the solutions it proposes won't work for me -- I can't set Outlook as my email client (this is a work computer and we use Lotus Notes) and I can't muck around in the registry (again, this is a work computer). I know I can attach the Excel via the attach command in the email client, but the main thing is I don't understand why Acrobat has removed that option from the Excel menu. Also, it removed the Send to XPS option (which I don't really care about, but it bothers me because it shouldn't be deleting anything)!
I even tried adding the Email command to the Quick Access Toolbar in Excel -- it let me add the button, but, when I click it, absolutely nothing happens. -

Send Excel as attachment in Email
Hi,
I have an excel file attached as the original to a DIR.
I want to send this excel file as an attachment in the external email.
I am retrieving the data contents of original file in binary format using CVAPI_DOC_CHECKOUTVIEW
Then I am converting binary to text using SCMS_BINARY_TO_TEXT
and then sending the email with the data file as attachment using SO_DOCUMENT_SEND_API1.
However, this attachment does not open when its type is .xls
It does open with .txt, but the file is distorted and in non-understanable format.

Sending Excel as attachment in Email (Unicode)
Hi,
I'm using SO_NEW_DOCUMENT_ATT_SEND_API1 FM to send excel attachments as emails to external addresses.
However, this the SAP upgrade to ECC6.0 from R/3 4.6B
then I cannot open BIG5 char excel, who does know how to sending Unicode excel as attachment in email.
the Excel can show Chinese , BIG5 code ,Japanese ,Korea .
OR which new funciton module in ECC6.0 like SO_NEW_DOCUMENT_ATT_SEND_API1 FM .
Regards,
HankHey,
try this one.

i_text = main_text
i_subject = l_var ).
document->add_attachment(
i_attachment_type = 'xls' i_attachment_subject = ' Details' i_attachment_size = size
i_att_content_hex = binary_content ).
add document object to send request
send_request->set_document( document ).
--------- add recipient (e-mail address) -----------------------
create recipient object
recipient = cl_cam_address_bcs=>create_internet_address( abc at abc.com).
recipient = cl_cam_address_bcs=>create_internet_address( 'abc at abc.com' ).
add recipient object to send request
send_request->add_recipient( recipient ).

Excel attachment in external email sending
Hi guys.
Just having a bit problem in my excel attachment in external email sending (internet). The contents of my attachment are being considered as one column per line item, which is supposedly divided into columns according to its tab or space.
example: i sent this :
PO# Poitem
A 1
it will be displayed in excel as:
column1
PO# Poitem
A 1
it should be like this:
column1
column2
PO#
Poitem
A
1
can anyone tell me what additional fm(s) do I need to implement before calling fm: SO_NEW_DOCUMENT_ATT_SEND_API1 to send the email.
thanks a lot!

Excel 2007 Problems while sending E-Mail with Excel Attachment
Hello all,
i wrote a small WD application for uploading a file and sending this file
vie e-mail to some recipients.
I'm using class "cl_document_bcs". No problem with ".doc", ".pdf", also no problem
with ".xls" files generated by old Excel version. But when generating an .xls document with
Excel 2007, the attached file is not readable (just non usable signs).
For attaching the .xls file i use:
TRY.
lr_attachment = cl_document_bcs=>create_document(
i_type = lv_filetype " --> 'XLS'
i_subject = 'excel document'
i_hex = lt_file_solix
CATCH cx_document_bcs .
ENDTRY.
Are there any restrictions regarding Excel 2007?
The data element of i_type is just char3, so XLSX
wouldn't be possible.hello Christopher Linke ,
if you Programatically generation a excel file and you have 2007 version you can use OLE automation to save file as .xls i.e. a 2003 work book ..
if you have a excel file ready and you just want to send it across the you will have to convert the xlsx to xls and then send it you can do this as well using OLE automation
(in 2007 in SAVE AS option you can save it excel 97 2003 workbook)

How to correct bad PDF display of Excel 2007 graph-Adobe Pro X?
Just installed Adobe Acrobat Pro X; previously had Adobe Pro 8, which worked fine. Have Excel 2007 files with an Excel graph and a JPG image on the spreadsheet tab. Both the graph and the JPG are too big, are displaced, and hide spreadsheet data, when the Excel file is Saved As a PDF using Adobe Pro dialog or Excel dialog, or the Excel Plug-In to Create PDF. For some strange reason, printing to PDF works, although that is limiting. All of the settings are the same for the Adobe Printer as Adobe Pro settings. Changing them or going to default did not help. Just did the latest update; that did not help.
The graph and JPG are too large for the PDF page. Paper printing from Excel still works fine. Producing a PDF on another machine with Pro 8 still works fine. Could not find this problem discussed anywhere. Using XP, fully patched. This should not be a complicated process, nor a complex spreadsheet. What is going on?
ThanksRegardless of the method and Adobe product used to create the PDF, including the Excel tool button, the single common factor whether the PDF correctly displays a JPG or graph in the Excel file that is being done at anything other than 100% size is whether the Adobe Printer or a Physical Printer is selected as the default printer in the Windows Printers and Faxes-Settings. This is true even though the printer is not being used. I have created the same PDF using every method/product and the results are always the same, and only properly display when either the setting is 100% size or the system printer is selected as Adobe Printer. This is true only after installing Adobe X (8 was previously installed, and worked as expected).

You say the settings for the printer work fine, but do not for PDF Maker (I am assuming this is what you meant). PDF Maker no longer uses the printer and the settings are independent. Check the settings for PDF Maker under the create PDF menu.

Errors opening Excel 2007 spreadsheets in Excel 2010
When I try to open spreadsheets created in Excel 2007 with Excel 2010, I get the error: "Excel found unreadable contenct in 'file name'. Do you want to recover the contents of this workbook? If you trust the source of this workbook, click
Yes". Then a Repairs dialog box comes up saying: "Excel completed file level validation and repair. Some parts of this workbook may have been repaired or discarded. Removed Part: Print options." File then opens fine.
We receive Excel 2007 from various sources. One of my problem is that we are just starting to migrate people to Windows 7 and Office 2010, with most people still on Office XP. The file format converter for Excel 2002/2003 does not work with these
Excel 2007 files. The other problem is that we have macros that are used to open Excel files and import data into other Excel files. Pretty hard to modify these macros to allow for some files that are going to pop up this error, and others that
do not.
What is causing this problem, and what fix is available? We have asked that people save the Excel files in Excel 97-03 format before sending to us, with mixed results.Hi,
Thank you for using Excel IT Pro Discussions forum.
Are you using Office 2010 RTM version? If it is trial version or beta version, I suggest upgrading it to the RTM version.
First, please check if this KB article helps:
Error message when you try to open a workbook in Excel 2007: "Excel found unreadable content in Book_Name"
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929766
Note: The steps are for Excel 2007. The steps in Excel 2010 are similar.
If the problem persists, let’s also check the following settings in Excel 2010.
========
1.
In Excel 2010, click File > Options > Trust Center > File block settings.
2.
Check the checkboxes before:
Excel 2007 and later Wordbooks and Templates
Excel 2007 and later Macro-Enabled Workbooks and Templates
Excel 2007 and later Add-in Files
Excel 2007 and later Binary Workbooks
Then, try to open the Excel 2007 file in Excel 2010 and check the results again.
Best Regards,
Sally Tang

Autocad 2010 drawing pasted in microsoft excel 2007 spread sheet not visible after converting excel
Hello, I am having an issue with Autocad 2010 drawings not showing up in a pdf document. Normally, I cut and paste part of an Autocad 2010 drawing into a Microsoft Excel 2007 spread sheet. Then, using Adobe Distiller, I convert the Excel spread sheet into a pdf document for propriatary purposes. However, recently the drawing pasted into Excel will not fully appear on the pdf, the drawing is cut off past a certain point. The drawing will print normally in Excel, but in pdf will not print normally. If the drawing is shrunk below the "cut off" point, it appears normally. If the drawing is expanded above the "cut off" point, any additional image is lost. Any suggestions on how to fix the problem would be appreciated.
See "[Creating, Editing & Exporting PDFs] How to correct bad PDFdisplay

scaling it to less than 100%?
