Excel 2007 Support for versions prior to BPC 5.1

Hi,
Will versions prior to BPC 5.1 support Excel 2007?  Specifically 4.0, 4.1, and 4.2?
Thanks,
Mike Lantz

4.0 & 4.1 would not have been tested and certified on 2007 as they were relased before Jan 2005.  As of 4.2 SP3 (released April 2006) the supported Excel versions are listed in the release notes as:
Excel 2000 SR1 or later
Excel 2002 (XP)
Excel 2003 or later

Java 7 has already been dead for quite a while. While you could still use it for Java apps on your system, Apple blocked its use in browsers long ago. You have to install version 8 if you need Java support for the web.

  • Until when give SAP support for version 7.30?

    Hello,
Until when give SAP support for version 7.30?
How is the update from SAP GUI 7.30 to 7.40 handle?

    Hello Herr Jürs,
As per the attached note http://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/147519
    support ends in July
SAP GUI for Windows Support Deadlines
7.30: Full support up to July 15th, 2015. On July 15th, 2015 the used development environment Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 will transit to Microsoft's "Extended Maintenance" mode. This means that Microsoft will not create any corrections for components which belong to this development environment anymore (unless the issue is security relevant). Therefore no extension of full support for SAP GUI for Windows 7.30 beyond this date is possible.

  • Microsoft Excel Add-in for version 11.1.1.1.x

Can someone tell me if Smart View and the Excel add-in for Essbase coexist? If so, how does one go about installing the add-in for Essbase? This is for version 11.1.
    Jed

    Hi,
This particular thread interests me as I'm trying as we speak to install the 11.1.1.2 Excel Add In. I have done these steps:
1 - Unzipped the V15966-01 file into install directory.
2 - Unzipped the V16855-01 file into the install directory.
3 - Unzipped the V15981-01 file into the install directory.
When I goto run the install and I get to the screen to choose Essbase 32bit Client. It does not allow me to install and comes up with this error:
Assemblies missing: Component required next assemblies to be installed: commonComponents.
    Any idea what I'm missing?
    Thanks

  • TDMS Excel Add-in Does not support new Excel 2007 Row Limit

First off I would like to say the TDM/TMDS format is really useful. It allows you to do all kinds of things that would be a real pain if you tried to do it with tab delimited spreadsheets. You can format data into excel sheets for analysis with seperate tabs and channel names over the columns and the whole nine yards. You can even throw error messages into the properties that show up on the first tab.
The problem occurs when the user is working with really large files. Excel 2003 and all previous versions of Excel have limits of 65,536 rows by 256 columns. Until the latest version of the TDM Excel Add-in if you tried to import files larger than this it would throw an error and wouldn't create any file at all. Now it imports a file and you specify the index, which is so much better.
Excel 2007 supports 1,048,576 rows by 16,384 columns! This is really useful. But the current version of the TDM Excel Add-In does not support the new row limit. Is there any way we can get a version of this for 2007 that supports the new row limits? It would be cool if the Add-in could auto-detect the version and change the import limits accordingly but that may be too much to ask. Has anyone else run into these problems?
My client would like to record hour long files at 200Hz all day long. Thats 720,000 rows of data per file. Yes, thats a lot but excel can handle it. The TDMS importer cannot. Of course there are work arounds and we will have to use one if a new version of the TDM Excel Add-in is not made soon. Is there a new version coming? Please say yes.
    [will work for kudos]
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

I redownloaded the file. I couldnt figure out how to completely uninstall the verison of the TDM importer already installed, so I just tried to install the one i downloaded. The installer said "no software will be installed or removed" and I had to click cancel because there was no next option.
I tried to import the data again with the importer and got the same 'selective import' dialog box again, limiting me to the 65,535 rows.
Here is what I am getting.
How do I uninstall the add-in so that I may reinstall it?
I uploaded a copy of one of my tdms files to the ftp.ni.com/incoming directory for you to download and attempt to import.
    File: "442732.zip"  size: 82.2 mb
A little more information about the tdms file
The data is 14 columns of single precision float and is about 720k rows. There are four sections (sheets in the same excel document) with the data converted differently in each tab/section. The data is the same amount in each section as well. There are also a couple sections listing the constants and scalars used to convert the data, as well as the typical first page of tdms information about the data.

  • Issue with excel 2007(not supporting 10lakhs records)

    Hi Gurus,
I have a small issue . As we know that Excel 2007 supports 10 lakhs records and 2003 supports 65000 records. So when  I am executing the query in Excel 2007 , getting only 65000 records after that it is not displaying any data. we are using  BW  3.5 version and SAP log on is 710.
I have saved excel as a excel workbook it is showing 10 lakhs rows but data is not displaying. And I am thinking that we need to install support packages , so can any one suggest me that what version/type of support packages we need to go  or any one have faced this kind of issue before.
    Please post your valuable comments.
    Thanks,
    Kulkarni

    Hi,
Even executing in WEB , while exporting it is showing only 65000 records in Excel 2007 supposed to show 10 lakhs records.

  • Warning message when exporting a Financial Report to Excel 2007

Excel 2007 users that attempt to export a fully formatted Financial Report into Excel 2007 get the following error message:
"The file you are trying to open, 'FileName.xls', is in a different format than specified by the file extension. Verify that the file is not corrupted and is from a trusted source before opening the file. Do you want to open the file now?"
I am still researching the behavior that users get when they click through the message, but would ideally like for the message not to appear without updating the client machine registries. Has anybody else run across this?
    Excel 2007
    BI Plus version: 9.3.1.0.0.248

It looks like this is a known issue addressed in Bug 7359171 - EXPORT TO EXCEL 2007 CAUSES FILE FORMAT WARNING:
The current design does not allow you to open HTML content from a web site in Excel unless the extension of the URL is .HTM/.HTML/.MHT/.MHTML. So ASP pages that return HTML and set the MIME type to something like XLS to try to force the HTML to open in Excel instead of the web browser (as expected) will always get the security alert since the content does not match the MIME type. If you use an HTML MIME type, then the web browser will open the content instead of Excel. So there is no good workaround for this case because of the lack of a special MIME type for HTML/MHTML that is Excel specific. You can add your own MIME type if you control both the web server and the client desktops that need access to it but, otherwise the best option is to use a different file format or alert your users of the warning and tell them to select Yes to the dialog.
    Another Workaround :
    Client Configuration of Extension Hardening.
Client desktops can change the default behavior of the security check using a registry key. The following registry key can be set to alter the behavior ofthe Excel 2007 client in the following ways:
Key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Excel\SecurityValue: (DWORD)"ExtensionHardening" = [0 = Disable check; 1 = Enable check and prompt; 2 = Enable check, no prompt deny open]Default setting if value not present is 1 (enable and prompt).
The client can configure the site to disable the check by setting ExtensionHardening = 0. This will stop the prompt from appearing, but it will also disable any future checks for the file content validity. This does not (in itself) lower your security. The check is part of a defense-in-depth strategy to prevent malicious users from crafting files of a different type than its extension (or MIME type), which could then be used to trick users into opening a file of a type they did not expect. This warning is designed to let the user know of this potential threat and given them an option of canceling the open if they wish.

  • Error when using BeX Analyzer 7.0 with Excel 2007

When i try to execute a query in BeX analyzer 7.0 and my microsoft excel version is 2007, there will always have a fatal error showing. However, when i use the Bex Analyzer 3.5 , i could execute the query.
    Anyway to solve this problem?

You need to do the following
Identify the SAP GUI version you're using, 6.40 or 7.10, and the patch level.
Identify the BW or BI Add-on and patch level of it.
From there, check to see if the versions you have actually support BI 7.0 and Excel 2007.  Reliable Excel 2007 support requires failry current patch levels of both the SAP GUI and the corresponding BW/BW Add-ons..
Do you have access to a PC that has a more recent version of the SAP GUI and BW/ BI Add-on?  If so, try using that PC and see if you still have the problem.

  • Excel 2007 export

Is Excel 2007 supported? I need to export about 600,000 records into Excel

    You are missing the point.
    a) if my customer moved with using current version of Excel/Office (because it is also applies to Word 2007 export), you or SAP cannot tell him what is important to him/her what is not or prevent this migration
    b) run files in compatibility mode may prevent proper use of the new features (http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/help/HA100738731033.aspx), so end user is forced to do extra step every time a new document in old format is opened - conversion
    c) there are plenty of automated processes which may have expected file extension as an example or worse may use new features and being automated does not have capability of conversion per se.

  • Are new versions of SP for SQL supported for SCCM 2007 while in extended support

With SCCM 2007 R3 in extended support, are new service pack versions for SQL, such as 2008 SP3, tested and supported?  We see TechNet is not updated with this version.  We have tested in lab works great, but wanted to verify supportability
    before upgrading production.

Configuration Manager 2007 supports Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 SP1 and Microsoft SQL Server 2008 SP3.
System Center Configuration Manager 2007 SP2, R2 and R3 now supports Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 SP1 and Microsoft SQL Server 2008 SP3 as a Configuration Manager 2007 site database.

  • BPC and Excel 2007

Can someone tell me what version/service pack of BPC is needed in order to run properly in Excel 2007?
    Thanks!
    Anthony

    Anthony,
I am using BPC Sp3 so V.5.0.502.03 and I discovered problems in the Admin with Excel 2007!
As an admin I would not recommend yet to install Excel 2007, except if all admins are using it!
    Just to let you know:
Here is a log I put on SAP Support Portal about this problem:
    Short Text
Excel 2007 saving files in 2007 format but with an xls ext
    Long Text
I have upgraded my Excel to 2007, but the default file format is in
Excel 2003 format. When I make changes to dimensions the file is being
saved as an xls (as opposed to an xlsx) file, but it is being saved in
the Excel 2007 format. This means that 2003 users can't open the file.
I have deliberately kept the default file version in excel to the 2003
format so that I don't have compatibility issues, but BPC seems to be
ignoring this settting and using the 2007 format anyway.
I can work around this by opening the file from Excel and resaving it,
but obviously this is a nuisance to keep having to do this. I do not
want to revert back to Excel 2003 just to avoid this problem
    I am running BPC version 5.1 SP3
    Steps for Reconstruction
Install Excel 2007, make the default file type Excel 97-2003. Use BPC
admin to make a change to a dimension, then try to make a change to the
same dimension on a machine that is running Excel 2003
Here is the answer they gave me:
    Dear customer,
Thank you for contacting SAP Support Centre.
The problem is a known issue which has been reproted the dev team.
It will be fixed on bpc 7m.
    The current workaround is:
    1. Install 'Compatibility Pack for the 2007 Office system' file on
    client has Office2003.
    2. Change file extension 'xls' or 'xlt' to 'xlsx'.
    3. Opent template
I wish this could be helpful to you.
Even in installing the compatibility pack did not solve this problem but it is only this problem i found and only in the Admin... but as an admin it is a major problem!!
So when you ask, the version of BPC working "properly"... i dont really know what to answer. Make your own opinion
