Excel Chart High-Low Lines Not Rendering when Chart Object Contains No NumCache and StringCache

I have a number of Excel xlsx files which contain a Chart object configured with High-low Lines. The High-Low Lines render without issue when the Number Cache & String Cache exist in the file. A process updating the files removes the Number
Cache and String Cache from the Chart Object. After this process has updated the files Excel no longer observes the High-Low Line configuration. I have verified that the files still contain the setting for the Chart to have High-Low Lines (<c:hiLowLines
/>). Excel does not recognize that the setting is set (not rendered when viewed or preserved in the file settings after saving in Excel). Excel does not present any errors and everything else works fine.
Reproduction of Issue:
1. Create an Excel Document containing a Chart Object with High-Low Lines enabled.
2. Manually edit the chart1.xml file (in the xlsx file), removing all the Number Cache and String Cache entries from the document (<c:numCache/>, <c:strCache/>).
3. Open the Document in Excel and view the Chart. It will not draw the High-Low Lines and if saved the file will no-longer contain the hiLowLines setting.
The issue has been confirmed in Excel 2010 and Excel 2013.

The issue has been tested on different computers, 11 in total. The OS ranges from Windows 7 to Windows 8.1.
I have not tried in other file formats. Due to the requirements of the project I'm restricted to xlsx.
The application interacting with the files is proprietary.
I've simulated the issue by removing the Number Cache & String Cache manually from the Chart1.xml file. This causes the issue to occur. I will note that if i only remove one of the cache entries from the file the High-Low lines will be observed
in Excel. It seems to only happen if all of the cache entries are removed. The file is never interpreted by Excel as corrupt under any of the modifications.
The issue seems like Excel fails to evaluate the High-Low Lines property when the cache is completely removed. I'm not sure what Excel is doing to negate the property under the condition of no cache. After the files is opened with Excel and saved
the High-Low Lines property no-longer exists in the file.

Have you tried restarting or rebooting the iPad and then see if the volume control will work again?
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.

By default Mac apps do not close when you close the window you were working in. Unlike in Windows when you click the top right X icon in any program is closes the window and the program shuts down. On Mac OS X clicking the X in the top left hand corner only closes that windows and leave the program running in the background. If they are left open and you reboot they will restart with the system and load a window for them.

I can't GeoRaster data in the preview of the MapBuilder and MapViewer. The GeoRasterViewer shows the Raster images without problems.

The errror message of MapViewer is nearly the same with some more informations about the spatial query and the coordintes of the query window. If I run that spatial query in the sqldeveloper it returns a result!
I did following stebs:
- saved a tiff-Image in a GeoRaster table with pyramid an tiled images.
- checked the sdo_geom_metadata --> they are correct
- checked the sdo_georaster object for the rdt table name and rasterid --> they are correct
- checked the rdt table --> objects with that rid are saved
- checked the mdsys.sdo_geor_sysdata table --> entry is correct
- validate the geraster with the sdo_geor.validategeoraster function --> object is valid
- updated the spatial extend of the image and try again the preview functio--> the same error
The databse server is a virtual Linux server with Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.2.0.1.0 - 64bit.
The web server is a Window 2003 R2 Server with a weblogic server and mapviewer patch 5 (Ver1033p5_B081010).
For a test I did the same (the same table script, the same raster data, the same import method) on a developer pc (WinXP Pro SP2) with Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.2.0.1.0 (32bit) the same mapbuilder version but with the MapViewer QuickStartKid and it works fine!!!
Has anyone an idea?

PanelGrid with binding attribute not rendering when event on page fires

I am having a similar issue with my components not being rendered from a dynamic binding attribute as described by this post:http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jspa?threadID=671672 but for different reason. I have combed the forum and other sources for a week now, tried numerous variations of this based on suggestions I've read for rendering dynamic components and am unable to find the problem. I would appreciate guidance as I don't know what else to do and I imagine there is something basic about the JSF flow layout or component classes I am not doing correctly.
From a high level, I have a page with two panel groups. The first contains a list of command links (like a menu) that have an actionlistener that populates a list of QueryVariable objects called filterCriteria in the backing bean based on the selection made and then calls a function to update components in the second panel. The second panelGroup contains a panelGrid with a binding attribute that constructs a dynamic set of input fields based on the content of the filterCriteria list. When I first naviagate to this page from another page, the fields are rendered properly. However, if I then select a commandLink from the menu, the panelGrid disappears and is not rendered.
I've stepped through the code in a debugger and my actionlistener is called when I select a command link. However, the binding attribute method is not called at this time, so I added a direct call to it from the action listener. I know the actionlistener is working because I've verified it in the debugger and if I navigate away and come back to the page, then the binding method is called and the new selection is reflected in a rendered panelGrid. Why is it not rendering though when I first select the commandLink and the page is updated. Also, fyi, there is an action method for the commandlinks but it returns null;

Glad to hear I am not the only one struggling with this type of issue.
I tried your suggestion but it caused a NoSuchElementException when the page tried to render. Stepping through the code, the init function is always called after my panelGrid is constructed. I even commented out the logic to clear the children and confirmed that in the constructed page, the outputText component that binds to init is the first element on the page - right after the opening body tag. Maybe, JSF doesn't necessarily construct the page in top to bottom order? Also, the exception makes me think that this gets called too late in the lifecycle to work. Were you able to get this to work?

Report using excel sheet as data source not working when deployed to production.

I have a set of SSRS reports that use an excel sheet as a datasource.
Now when I preview the reports or run them in the Visual Studio IDE on my local machine i.e
the development machine, the reports run fine & display all correct results.
However, when we deploy the reports to the Production machine which is on a separate server,
the following error message is displayed :
"The current action cannot be completed. The user data source credentials do not meet the requirements to run this report. Either the user data source credentials are not stored in the report server database, or the user data source is configured not to
require credentials but the unattended execution account is not specified. (rsInvalidDataSourceCredentialSetting)"
I've copy pasted the connection string used for connecting to the excel file as reference :
Provider=Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0;Data Source=C:\MyFolder\CurrentFile.xlsx;Extended Properties="Excel 12.0;HDR=Yes;";
The excel file has also been uploaded to the machine housing the reporting server (i.e to C:\MyFolder location)

From the error message, please try to change the setting of Credential type for the data source on report manager as follows:
Go to the Data Sources properties page.
For the Connect Using option, select Credentials stored securely in the report server.
In User Name and Password, type credentials that can be used to access the database. If you are using SQL Server as the data source, the user name must be valid for both logging on to the server and for accessing the database that contains the data for
the report.
If the user name and password are credentials for a Windows account, select Use as Windows Credentials.
If you want the report server to pass the credentials of the user accessing the report to the server hosting the external data source, click Windows Integrated Security. In this case, the user is not prompted to type a user name or password.

can someone please help me find what's wrong with my codes below. my problem is that after executing the entire codes, the EXCEL.EXE remains in the task manager.

Vertical Elasticity on Field is not working when the data contains - in it.

Hi,
I have a report which has to print a large invoice number(around 30 characters) per invoice line, but I got only space for 12-14 characters, so I have set the vertical elasticity property of the field to Expand which makes the data to wrap to the next line.
But if the data contains any '-' character in it, the data wraps to the next line even though there is enough space on the current line.
Sample outputs:
When the vertical elasticity is set to Expand

It looks as if the logic that Oracle Reports uses to determine where to break the line is interpreting the "-" character differently from other characters. This is probably because it is used (at least in English) to break words at the end of a line (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hyphen#Justification_and_line-wrapping).
One workaround might be to replace "-" character with another character (or more) that looks the same (or similar), but that Oracle Reports does not interpret differently from other characters. For me (on Windows), CHR(173) seems to work. However, whether or not it works for you will depend on whatever character set(s) you're using. The same goes for the Unicode characters like U+2010 (hyphen), U+2011 (non-breaking hyphen), and U+2212 (minus).
For example, in your data model, you might try replacing your current invoice number column with an expression that looks something like this:
REPLACE(YOUR_INVOICE_NUMBER_COLUMN, '-', CHR(173))

PortalPath for Mydashboard is not working when the username contains a "/"

Hi,
Our OBIEE application is integrated with a java web application. We are providing links to the dashboards, Mydashboard, Answers and Administration using java and passing the credentials and portal paths to OBIEE using java.
Every other link is working fine, except the Mydahsboard link. When an username contains a "/" (Ex: xyz/adc.admin), then the mydashboard link is thorwing a path not found exception.
We tried escaping the user name, encoding the username. Nothing worked.
Finally removed the portal path from the URL and it is working fine, but lead to another problem.
The other problem is that, if the user clicks the Mydashboard link and then Dashboard link and again mydashboard link, then the dashboard is coming up, but not the mydashboard.
As we have removed the portalpath from the url, I guess the portal path of the dashboard is getting cached somewhere and it is being used even for the mydashboard.
Any ideas, how to get this worked would be appreciated!!

Why do you need user names with /? If this is due to SSO try using the stripWindowsDomain option in your SSO configuration. See this post:

Otherwise you are going to have to convert it to something else or you will have plenty of problems in OBIEE. We ended up replacing it by "_" (underscore) and that worked fine for us.

FCP project not rendering well as self contained QT file

G-4 (late model) 800Mhz,1GB SDRAM, 34 gig of space left, OS 10.3, FCP 4.0.1 LiveType 1.0.1 and Quicktime 6.4
Trying to render my little 15 second project as a self contained QT File so I can send it to a place, over HS internet, to be used as a full quality production over their in-house system. Looks like you must use compressor to do this but set at uncompressed. The anamorphic final piece looks sqwished. Did I miss a setting someplace? Also, it looks pixalated.Using the Quicktime movie standard setting is not responding to the self contained setting. It is not self contained. Any suggestions?

To export your DV project so there is no loss in quality, simply go to the File Menu and select EXPORT>QUICKTIME MOVIE. Not Quicktime Conversion, fot this will compress the footage. Make sure the settings match your timeline settings, make it self contained and you are set.
If it is anamorphic, then you need to adjust the dimensions by multiplying by 1.33. So 720 will be 960. 960x480.

I have an issue while showing these lines .when i am doing result recording control charts Some times shows tolerance limit lines and some times not ? Kindly clarify me the SPC control chart process too?but my main question is that why SAP some times shows Results and sometimes not .

We are using SPC inspection chars, in results recordin it is not calulating the control limits automatically. When i click to calculate the control limits, getting the message Control limits for track 1 could not be calculated.
Can you please let me know
1) The process flow for SPC inspection results recording
2) How to get the control limits automatically for SPC inspection chars.
3) System will require some results to calculate control limts, right? So, till system calculates those control limits, how system will valuate results (will it be with specificaiton limits specified at inspection characteristics level), do we have any option of entering preliminary results so that system can control limits on bases of those results and so from very first inspection lot we have control limits for valuation?

Content not rendering when renderMode is set to CPU on QM734-8G

I developed a mobile app for Android and iOS.
Recently, I've come across an android tablet, QM734-8G, that uses Android 4.2.2. When launching the app on this device, I simply get a blank screen and no content is rendered. I know the app is running because when I debug it, I can see all the code executed and traces appearing in the console.
After a lot of testing, I narrowed down the issue; it has to do with the renderMode. The app uses CPU render mode because I don't use any Stage 3D stuff or perform any graphic intensive operations. When I set the render mode to GPU the content does get renreded but I lose the filters (which is a known limitation of GPU rendering) and scrollRect doesn't work as expected. When I set the render mode to DIRECT I can also see the content and this time with filters and everything but the app starts crashing as it seems the memory usage increases in that render mode.
I've done a quick test and created and empty text projetc in Flash Builder and I simply specify the background of the SWF and with that simple test I can replicate the issue, so it's not sometihng specific to the content in my app. I've tested using AIR 3.8 and AIR 3.9.
The tablet has low specs and it's really cheap, but from what I see, the specs are enough to support app deployed usign AIR. Is there something I'm missing?

Line # not displayed when exception occurs on server.

We have our application code base on Websphere 4.0. When any exception occurs on the server, soure code line # is not dispalyed in stack trace print and some times it makes diffiicult to analse the problem. Is any one has any idea or suggestion get the source line #
in stack trace print.

CF9 Not Rendering Flash Charts

We just upgraded two Windows Server 2008 R2 servers, one development, one production, from CF7 to CF9 (9.01). Did the same installation on both. For some reason, the Dev server will not render charts (created in Web Charts 3D) in Flash, but will using JPG or PNG. However, the Prod server will render Flash, JPG or PNG.
Not sure how this can happen. Is there a setting for this? The Flash player is not installed on either server, as far as I can tell. Isn't it correct, that Flash player doesn't need to be installed on the server, but the client, for proper rendering?
Appreciate any tips/advice on this, or what to check. Thank you.
