Excel help

My friend has a Mac with Excel 2013 on it. I have Microsoft Home and Office 2010 on my PC. When they try to send me spread sheets, it will not convert over and I cannot open it. Is there any setting in my 2010 Excel (options button) that I can set or any
other thing I can do so I can get it to convert. Is because they have a Mac that it will not convert over? Please help if you can with any advise.

Excel Help Examples Displays Blank

From what i can tell is that Excel help is using the Microsoft Excel Services REST api with javascript

We are having an issue where users cannot see any of the excel help examples IE: Sum example.
Environment
Windows 7 (64bit) + Office 2010 Standard (32bit) + Internet Explorer 8 (Both versions installed but assuming that the program is using 32bit API's).
We have used an unrestricted proxy and this issue is still apparant.
When we upgrade the Internet explorer to IE9 it seems to work, however i cannot find anywhere online from microsoft that this functionality is not supported in IE8.
I have looked for the js files as described (Minified .js files for the JavaScript object model are installed
in the %ProgramFiles%\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\web server extensions\14\TEMPLATE\LAYOUTS directory. The name of the file is EwaMoss.js.)
and i am unable to locate them on the local computer.
Can anyone help please?

Exporting form data to excel help

Hi there,
I have created an interactive form using Livecycle Designer that comes with Adobe 9 Pro. Forms will be download from a website, completed and emailed back to me. I'm having trouble trying to export the data to excel. Whilst it lets me export data to excel it does not appear in the logical order as it is on the form. I'm not sure how to fix this and/or if its possible to only have certain fields displayed in excel?
Is it also possible to automate the process so that data in completed forms that i save will update the inforamtion in excel?
Any help greatly appreciated, I'm new to forms.

You probably need to ask in the LiveCycle forum since this is a Designer issue I think. If you are doing the export from Acrobat, then list the steps you are using. However, the field order and such are going to be set by Designer.

OK folks,
For the last couple of days I'd been searching this site for resolving my issue. Help me out Pleeeeeeeeeease.
Environment
Webserver: IIS
OS: Windows 2000 (Needless to say)
Language: Javascript
Issue: communicate the jsp application to Microsoft Excel
Take a couple of parameters (initially can be hard-coded) from javascripit application, and send it to Microsoft Excel, run a macro, and display the chart created by microsoft excel (which is an htm file) in web application.
I have gone through the application/vnd code, and the ExcelReader.class that was recommended. I don't know how to make the class file be read by the javascript, and application/vnd command opens up excel separately, but doesn't open the excel file; and yes, the excel file is on the same location on webserver.
What I need (and I genuinely appreciate this) is someone to show me the process (sample code is what I require actually) how this can be done in a JSP.

Labview Vs. Excel help in scaling

I currently have this excel page i created using labview.
and i am currently using microsoft excel page to scale it manually with the clicks of the mouse.
is there a way where I can automatically scaled it from labview to excel automatically?

I have an XY graph.
the properties of the graph already have x-axis & y-axis, min and max.
how do i use those properties and apply it to my excel graph?

Hi All
Is there a way of writing to an Excel Spread sheet when that same spread sheet is open with windows explorer?
Something like a shared connection.

You can obtain a handle to an active Excel application and connect to it, reading and writing to the active sheet.

To use the example, modify the code as stated, open the document in Excel, run the program and select "Connect to Excel", next select "Open file" (the modified callback) and you can read / write to the file both from interactively and from the program.

3-d array to xlsx file (excel) - help needed

i've a question for you...
i would save an excel file (.xlsx) having as input my 3-d array...i would that first dimension are my excel worksheets and then the other 2 dimensions are the data inside each worksheet.
I know that there is the report generation toolkit, and i would use it....but i don't know in which way
could you help me?

It's pretty easy to use and the VIs are very straightforward. You probably want the Excel Specific VIs Excel Easy Table and Excel Add Worksheet.
Report back after you've played around with the toolkit a bit.
As far as the 3D array goes, you're going to want the first subarray to be the worksheets (it will actually be a 1D array of worksheet names, right?), so you would index your array twice to get a 1D array of strings.
Next to get each set of data, you're going to get the Index 1 value from the array and so on. Index 1 will be a 2D array data for the first worksheet, Index 2 will be the next 2D array and so on.

Issue 1. The losenge button that controls the formatting bar is no longer present in OS X 10.7. It is not present in any applicatioin or Finder window.
Issue 2. The Schedule function in the print window has also been removed in OS X 10.7.
You may want to give feedback to Apple about these items. You can do so from the feedback page at http://www.apple.com/feedback/macosx.html .

IE taking a lot of time in rendering records to EXcel-Help!!

Hello,
My application is a web application and uses JSP and WebSphere server.
There is a functionality when a button is pressed the page sends the request to server and the search result is shown in a spreadsheet(excel file).
Now when we use Mozilla browser it gives the results in 5-6 seconds for some hundred records. when we use IE it takes several minutes for the same search.
Is there some kind of setting that needs to be altered?

actually,its a QC form,where the end user is giving values for an item which has 10 sublots,he his passing the values for 10 sublots(no,sample,quantity,uom,date).
The table is QC_SMPL_MST where he has taken the base table common for different data blocks.
No i am not using any pre-commit statements,using the database information for retieving the item_no and sub_lots

Query on Export to Excel- Help needed

Hi All,
I wanted to know if we can set a hidden field value when user clicks on the "export to excel" link in the reports.
I am using the Apex Export feature itself. Is it possible to set an item value when user clicks on the link?
If yes then how can we do it? If no can you please let me know the other options available?

I understood how to trigger the process on click of the export to csv link. As of now i will implement that in my application..
I just wanted to know if "the" dialog box could be controlled.
But later maybe,( if my client really needs it...), I will have to use my custom export to excel option. I have even downloaded your download-excel.
But it says that it cant be used for pl/sql returning function....
Is there a workaround on that?
And I will tell you the difference it makes to my application.
Current Requirement: I need to track the information (for e.g say user id's) that have been sold to a customer. I am doing this by inserting the data exported by user to the table. This must happen only when user saves the file. Only when user saves the file, the information is considered as "Slod".
Now if the user click on export to csv link but simply opens or cancels the file download, that information is not considered as "Sold"
Hence my need, that i could control the dialog box. Hope this clears your doubt.

I have attached a VI that uses the "Name" property of a worksheet object to change the tab name. It is a bit horrible to look at but this is automation in LabVIEW - not always pretty!
The VI does the following:
1. Open an instance of the Excel Application object and makes it visible (for some reason, if you use automation to create an instance of Excel to work with, it will be created with the visible property set to false - go figure.
2. Add a new workbook to the Workbooks collection.
3. Add a new worksheet to the new workbook's Worksheets collection.
4. Use the worksheets "Name" property to retrieve and display the created worksheet's name
5. Uses the "Name" property to rename the sheet tab.
6. Uses the "Name" property to retrieve and show the new name.
If you are doing a lot of automation of Excel, I would get a good book on programming Excel that describes the automation interface. John Walkenbach has written several good ones. (http://j-walk.com/ss/)

When publishing excel docs i used to get exactly what was in the work sheet. Now for some reason a Graphic logo and the text box is missing. This seems to have happened since I installed servise pack 2 for Vista, although this may be a coincedence. any ideas please

How to access Excel PROTECTED spreadsheet in SharePoint Web Access Web Part in SharePoint2013?

I have excel file which is protected by password. I need to access Sheet 1 on SharePoint Web Part Page on Dashboard. While I add protected I can not able to Excel Sheet is corrupted as per below image.!
While I add simple Excel Spreadsheet, it works properly. Is there any alternate solution to display excel spreadsheet on Web Page using Excel Services.

Point of Entry Excel form w/data to Flow into Access DB Hosted on SharePoint 2010

I have an Excel file with multiple tabs that require different people to enter data. I need to post the Excel file on SharePoint with the data entered to flow into an Access DB. I am new to SharePoint and would appreciate any ideas or thoughts

According to your post, my understanding is that you wanted to post the Excel file on SharePoint with the data entered to flow into an Access DB.
Both Access and Excel provide commands to connect to data in SharePoint lists. Excel 2010 provides a read-only (one-way) connection to linked SharePoint lists; whereas Access 2010 lets you read and write (two-way) data in linked SharePoint lists.
You can synchronize Excel 2010 and SharePoint 2010 with a download and install of a
Microsoft Excel Addin.
You can synchronize Excel 2010 and Access 2010 with Sharing data by linking to an Excel worksheet from Access or Connecting to Access data from Excel
