Excel Import via JDBC

Hi all,
i implemented the Hxtt driver but I still get "Connection fails" in the system landscape.
I did following steps:
In Visual Administrator:
1) JDBC Connector -> Drivers -> New Driver Excel_JDBC30 with Test_JDBC30.jar
2) Connector Container -> sap.com/com.sap.ip.bi.sdk.dac.connector.jdbc -> New clone of SDK-JDBC -> Resource Adapter -> library:Excel_JDBC30 was added
In Portal:
3) New System Excel_JDBC
4) Connection URL: jdbc:excel:/C:test_csv_jdbc.xls
5) Driver Class Name: com.hxtt.sql.excel.ExcelDriver
6) BI Directory Provider: yes
7) Factory Class: Excel_JDBC
8) User Mapping Type: admin,user
9) I created an alias: Excel_JDBC
10) Made user mapping for this system. Is it necessary?
Connection fails!!
Thank you for any help, best regards
Frank

Hi Frank,
did you check the [WIKI|https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/wiki?path=/display/vc/jdbcConnectionSetup&]?
User mapping is ok, so that you have access to the file, therefore you should use e.g. a certain ADS user for accessing the file system and your excel/csv file.

  • Excel import With Sequance Value

    Hi
I need to import data From Excel, but how i can set primary key from a Sequence value??

You do it from outside the Excel -> Import wizard in SQL Developer.
Define your table so your column is populated by a sequence. You can do this via an INSERT TRIGGER.
When you define your Import scenario, leave the ID field alone, i.e. set it such that no values are passed, then your trigger will fire and the sequence.nextval will be used.

  • Excel-Import with SBO 2007

    Hello to all!
I have problems concerning the Excel-Import-function within SAP 2007.
I want to import some business partners (what should not be such a huge problem), but an internal error occures which states:
"internal error: Payment Methods for Payment Wizard (OPYM) (-2007) occured.
After I set up the Payment Wizard it is still not working - now the internal error stats: "(-2007)".
Experimentally, I tried to import the bp-data into an older version SAP BO 2005 - as personally expected no internal errors occured! even if i do not set up the Payment Wizard...
Here are some facts to our sbo 2007 version:
    2007A (8.00.178)
    SP: 00
    PL: 44
I tried to find a thread upon this topic, but I could not find any. Maybe some of you might be able to help me! I am looking forward to it,
    thanks a lot
    daniel

    Hi Daniel,
i had have similar problems by importing datas via excel function. My suggestion is to import step by step.
Select a few records and separate it into an extra excel sheet...(5-10 Records)
First try to import only CardCode, CardName, second try 2 records more. So you will find the records, that makes some trouble.
    Regards Steffen
(P.S. I think it could be the g/l account definition, but i am not sure.)

  • Excel Import of Dates while in Manual Task Mode

It appears that I cannot do an Excel import into start/finish fields for a task that is set to manual mode.  Is this true, or am I overlooking something?
This is annoying.  I am having to import into the temporary fields of start1/finish1, then copy the dates over to start/finish.  Using manual mode is important because it ignores dates and holidays.  If my customer says an activity is to occur
on a Saturday, then so be it; I can't have the tool changing it to Monday.

    Hi John -
We have a Customer that has data in a SharePoint list.  Included in this data is start and finish dates.  Of course our preference would be to have this particular Customer join our Project Server instantiation as yet one more PWA user.  However,
there are scores of people that are maintaining this legacy SharePoint list and we are trying to be accomodating to their interface.  To that end, we are trying to devise a process that will allow us to periodically ingest their data into our Server.
Once in our Server, we can then start creating links from there to the rest of our Enterprise, most likely via Deliverable/Dependency relationships which we have tuned to a fine science with macros.
There are people I know and respect that HATE Manual Mode and think it the worst thing to ever happen to MS Project.  I wouldn't go that far, but my initial impression of the capability was that it seemed to allow the ability to copy/paste a twin
column of start/finish dates from Excel and paste directly into the Project start/finish.  Up until v2010, this was never possible --- copying a date into Start would set a "Start No Earlier Than" constraint and then plunking
a date into finish would then set a "Finish No Earlier Than" constraint and immediatly forget the start date that was just provided!!!! We have known that if you want to copy from Excel into Project, then you need to copy a start date and a duration
and let Project compute the finish, and cross your fingers that the finish date in Project matches the one in the Excel file.  My current impression of the capability is that it still has a way to go to meet expectations.  The fact that there are
smart people on this thread getting different results and none of us knows why is very troubling.
One more thing I will add about how we use Manual Mode.  We switched our macros that create Depedency links to using manual mode.  We did this for two reasons: (1) people were complaining about all the "Must Start" constraints that
we were setting.  (2) This allowed us to force dates to weekends/holidays without the imposition of a 7-day calendar. Having so much as one record in schedule with Task Calendar set to anything other than "None" then prohibits the ability to
update a schedule in PWA.  We have had tremendous success with using Manual Mode from this perspective.

    Chris

  • OS authentication in Oracle 10g via jdbc:oracle:oci

I'm very much a newbie to Java / JDBC and I am trying, but failing, to connect with the database using OS authentication via jdbc, and hoping someone may help.
    My questions are:
    1. Is OS authentication supported for jdbc:oracle:oci with Oracle 10g ? I couldn't find a general statement of whether it works or not.
(NB.The only information I managed to find, on another forum, is that it should be supported but there is a bug and so it does not work, but the author did not post all of his/her platform details, so the bug may only affect his/her situation. )
    2. If it is supported and works, could some one suggest what is wrong with my syntax . I could not find an example in any Oracle 10g/JDBC documentation.
The details are as follows: -
Database : - Oracle 10g Enterprise Edition 10.2.0.2.0 running on Solaris.
    Development platform : - NetBeans 6.1, JDK 1.6.
Runtime environment: - JRE1.6 on Windows XP professional.
OPS$ authentication : - the OPS$ accounts have been set-up and we use these successfully for PL/SQL and SQL Plus access.
JDBC : - I can connect to the database with both jdbc:oracle:thin ( linking in ojdbc14.jar) and jdbc:oracle:oci by using username and password, so I know my JDBC library linkage is OK, eg. this works fine :
    final String url = new String("jdbc:oracle:oci:" + uname + "/" + pword + "@" + environment);
    where environment is the SID
I have trawled the Oracle documentation which tells me that OS authentication is not supported for Oracle 10g for the jdbc:oracle:thin driver, so I have tried to connect with jdbc:oracle:oci driver using the following code :
    final String url = new String("jdbc:oracle:oci:/@" + environment);
    final Driver driver = new oracle.jdbc.OracleDriver();
    DriverManager.registerDriver(driver);
    final Properties props = new Properties();
    conn = DriverManager.getConnection(url);
but this gives the following error :
    java.sql.SQLException: ORA-01017: invalid username/password; logon denied
Other info: - The tnsnames.ora file contains nothing but there are entries in the ldap.ora and sqlnet.ora files.
    My questions are:
    1. Is OS authentication supported for jdbc:oracle:oci with Oracle 10g ? I couldn't find a general statement of whether it works or not.

If you specify the SID/service_name in the url, you are attempting to connect via SQL*NET and REMOTE_OS_AUTHENT must be set to true in the database. If you are connecting from the same host the database runs on, then just leave the SID off and make sure the ORACLE_SID environment variable is set.
You can reproduce the same error you get in java with
    sqlplus /@SID

  • How to run Excel Macros using JDBC-ODBC

    Hi,
I want to run the excel macros in the excel file, after I connected to excel file, using JDBC-ODBC bridge.
    How macros treated here?
    Help needed please..........
    - Ramesh

How to run Excel Macros using JDBC-ODBCYou don't.
    As my fuzzy understanding goes.....
Macros (excel, word, etc) run via a "OLE" extension of the script host system.
So the only way to run them is via the OLE interface. That has nothing to do with ODBC. You can write your own JNI to do that, or you might get lucky and find that someone else has written a java library to do it for you.

  • Accessing Data from HTML DB via JDBC

Hello, I am from Germany so please excuse my following mistakes in english.
I built a web-application based on JSP, which connects to a local oracle-database 10g. web-server is tomcat. I use the JDBC-Driver from Oracle.
Now I want to connect not to my local db but to a Oracle HTML DB, which already exists in the domain of my company. I know the workspace, the application-name and everything, which is accessible for an HTML DB admin. but no clue, what's important for connecting the database via JDBC.
The hostname I got from the URL of HTML DB as well as the port. The main problem is to get the right database-name. I tried the workspace-name -> nothing, tried the application-name -> nothing. Honestly I tried everything, what I found.
    So my questions :
-> Is there a chance to access the data created and used in the workspaces of the HTML-DB via JDBC (Java Database Connectivity)?
-> How do I name the Workspace from outside?
-> Are the login-accounts still applicable when connecting from outside via JDBC?
I'm looking forward to get your ideas and help
    So far
    Kay

Your English is very good. The hostname on the URL of HTML DB may not be the host on which the database rests. That is the host of the HTTP server. That server may or may not be the database server.
    Now your questions:
-> Is there a chance to access the data created and used in the workspaces of the HTML-DB via JDBC (Java Database Connectivity)? What do you mean by "Data created and used in the workspace"? Do you mean the HTML DB repository which contains the application, page, and item definitions? (This is accessible via the schema that HTML DB was installed in.) If you mean the data a user creates when using an HTML DB application, then it is accessible through the application's parsing schema.
-> How do I name the Workspace from outside? Outside the realm of HTML DB the workspace is not needed.
-> Are the login-accounts still applicable when connecting from outside via JDBC? When you say "login-accounts" doe the mean the username/password users used to run the HTML DB application? These may or may not be database schemas. They may be HTML DB usernames or network usernames or LDAP usernames.
I highly recommend you contact the DBA of the database you are trying to connect to and explain what you are doing. You should also contact the developer of the HTML DB application. They should be able to provide you with all the information you need.

Look at the query Andy proposed:
    SELECT NULL LINK, start_date, NVL(sum_of_trans, 0) + 0.001 VALUE
      FROM (SELECT   TRUNC (startdate) start_date,
                     CASE
                        WHEN :p9_view_by = 1
                           THEN ROUND (DURATION / 60, 3)
                        ELSE 1
                     END sum_of_trans
                FROM TRANSACTION
               WHERE trans_id = x AND startdate BETWEEN y AND z
GROUP BY TRUNC (startdate)) xDoes this query deliver anything?

  • Lost index stats in Ora 8.1.6 Tables when selecting via jdbc

    Hi,
i'm using JBuilder8 and Kylix2 on a Linux machine with Oracle oci drivers of client 8.1.7.
The connect through JB8 jdbc via DBPilot is succesful and shows the tables of the db.
After executing a select on any table the index stats of this table are lost.
Kylix works fine without this failure.
Thanks for any comments to this problem
    Jens

Well, it's not the PL/SQL code that is causing a problem. Everything worked fine for many months. Then one day (without any changes in the environment or code) the update of a table from a java application (via JDBC) fails. The same update done directly on the DB with SQL Plus still succeeds!
This led us to think that something is wrong with the JDBC connection (which was up for several months). Maybe a memory corruption?
Anyone that experienced similar problems with JDBC?

  • Excel Importer for Visual Studio LightSwitch 2013

Has anyone managed to get the 'Excel Importer for Visual Studio LightSwitch' extension working with Visual Studio 2013?

    Hi Kevin,
I assume you mean this extension here -
    http://code.msdn.microsoft.com/silverlight/Excel-Importer-for-Visual-61dd4a90
From what I can tell that does not yet support VS 2013.  The source code is of course available, so you could attempt to fix it up yourself and tell us the result.

  • Can't see some Business Rules after running the Import via LCM

I am trying to migrate our Business Rules down from Prod to Dev to get them back in sync. Here is the steps I have run:
Export ALL Business Rules and Sequences from Prod via LCM
I confirmed the export directory contains an .xml file for EACH Rule.
copied the export directory down to Dev Shared Services server
Turned on DEBUG for Shared Services
Deleted ALL Business Rules and Sequences from Dev EAS BR repository
I confirmed that ALL BUsiness Rules are listed and checked in LCM Import.
run the Import from Dev Shared Services via LCM
I get a Completed successfully message. No Errors.
I Refresh Rules in Dev EAS and I only see 25% of the Business Rules listed.
I have tried to Stop/Restart the EAS services and still nothing.
I confirmed that the ID I am using to Export / Import has access on each Business Rule either directly or via a Group that has access.
    Any thoughts??
Thanks in advance for any assistance on this!
    Robert

    Thanks John!
I was really trying to get it done via LCM since I have all other migrations being done there. but I ended up taking your advice and doing it the old fashion way via EAS export.
    To answer your questions:
    We are on 11.1.1.3
I did not see any problems in the Services logs for EAS. Nothing that stood out.
We are migratiing 66 Rules and 15 Sequences.
We are using Weblogic instead of Tomcat.
Even though I have a workaround for the issue I am still interested in understanding why some of them did not import via LCM. You mentioned that you might consider adjusting some config settings. What settings would you recommend looking at?
    Thanks again John!

  • Connecting to IDMS database via JDBC

Has anyone successfully set up JDBC connectivity to generate reports using data in an IDMS mainframe database containing multiple schemas, where several schemas may contain tables with the same name?
We have no issues when using ODBC to connect to the various schemas in this IDMS databases, but we need to convert the connectivity for existing reports to JDBC.
When I open the JDBC connection, I see the expected hierarchy of schemas and tables in the Database Expert window.  If I try to select a table I get the following error message if a table of that same name exists in other schemas:
Failed to retrieve data from the database.
Details:  SQL exception: [SQL State:]  42000  [Error message:]  DB002046 T11094 C-4M347: Duplicate table ids for ASISCHEM.SR-ACT and CORPCHEM.SR-ACT in area CORPDB.ACTIVITY-AREA [Database Vendor Code: -4]
So although we can connect to the database via JDBC, we can't use the connectivity because Crystal  does not appear to correctly resolve that I'm selecting the table from within a specific schema.
Can anyone advise on how to make sure the table name selection is qualified by the correct schema name?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hello,
Try running the query outside of CR to verify the JDBC driver is passing the fully qualified name also.
Then look in the Designer and Show SQL to verify it's there as well as Set Table Location. You may be able to fully qualify it in that UI.
    Thank you
    Don
