Excel Macro that executes package Load Infoprovider with parameters in code

Hi everybody,
Is it possible to create a macro in Excel that executes the package 'Load Infoprovider', and all the parameters (Infocube, Transformation file, ... ) are written in the code of the macro?
If it is so, do you have some example that I can use?

There is a MNU function which is used to run a particular DM package. Please go to the below site and refer to the MNU_eDATA_SELECTPACKAGE command.

The Variable %SELECTION% in a data manager package is used to set to the property SELECTION in the RUNLOGIC of the process chain.
Which inturn helps in setting the scope for the Script Logic connected to that process chain.
If you are checking the process chain for Load Info Provider you dont have any process for Logic execution and in this case you dont have any option for setting some variable and sending it to transformation file. As transformation file itself is a variable got from the user prompt in the package.

Just to inform you that I've found a solution when you need to apply variables as a parameter:
preserveSingleQuotes(vFileName)
preserveSingleQuotes function will keep the string like this 'dadsadsad' and so, you can use it inside your functions, procedures, etc..

How can I prevent query executing on loading page with POJO dc

I created with POJO datacontrol with a method return a list of data. I created a taskflow with a page fragment to add the POJO function as a form. then click '+' icon on Bindings section -> on insert item dialog box select method binding.
then select your pojo data control and select the method that you want to add (if it has parameters then leave it blank for now.)
for executing operation binding(method call) create a button action action listener and add following code

SSIS package runs from BIDS and by Executing package, but failing with Job

I have SQL Serve 2012 SSIS. I have problems to run from SQL Server Agent Job.
Steps runs SSIS package without configuration file. Package Run64BitRuntime is False in BIDS.
Package is runned by SQL Server Agent Service Account.
Server does not have Office 2010/2013 installed. Should it be installed?

How to compile and execute a Jython script with parameters (?)

I am writing a scripting extension mechanism for a big server project we've built over the last year and a half.
What I want to acheive is:
- system authors upload scripts (via a web front end)
- the system checks and compiles the script
- stashes the compiled script away against a named event.
When the event occurs the compiled script is called by the server with a list of parameters (current user id, various numbers describing the system state).
Now I can upload and compile the script just fine using :
PyCode somePyCode = __builtin__.compile ( script, "<>", "exec");
...and deal with any errors ...and stash the script away against a named event...etc.
And it is easy enough to call this code with
aPythonInterpreterInstance.exec ( somePyCode );
but that doesn't pass my parameters through.
It seems to me there's three obvious ways to do this:
(1) specify that each script has a named target:
def onEvent(eventid , userid):
... and use one of the PyCode.call() methods
- but these aren't sensibly documented in the javadocs so it could take a while to figure out what's really going on.
(2) specify that each script contains a class def and implements a __call__ method - but I can't see how to get the PyClass object out of the PyCode object returned by __builtin__.compile
(3) put the variables into the local namespace and then execute the script (without a named method or class) - but this means that I would have to clean down the local namespace each time (- and anyway what is it local to?).
(Did I mention execution speed is important to this app and I need to service multiple threads?)

Of course when you exec() py code with def'd functions and class definitions in you're not executing the function(s) but defining them. Meaning that my question was all back to front in the first place.

Dynamic Package Loading/Importing

Hi,
I'm developing an open framework for network admission control / network access protection which bases on independent modules handling different procedures like authentification, accounting and so on.
Right now I dynamically load my modules into my framework at startup or during runtime (hot-pluggable) using the well-known simple method:

This works fine as long as
- The module which is going to be loaded only consists of one class and doesn't need other classes (e.g. for Dispatcher Threads ...) to run. This would still be no problem if I simply place all needed classes in the right directories, but I'd like to ship modules as packages for an easier handling of new modules.
- The module doesn't need any libraries like e.g. the mySQL-JDBC-Connector. Right at this point I run into serious troubles cause I've to specify these external jars before starting my framework (java -cp ...).
I haven't found any way to dynamically extend the classpath / to add whole jar's/packages during runtime yet so hopefully anyone could give me a hint how to implement that.
In short I'd like to implement the following functionality: Without being in classpath at startup a package should be accessible and all classes of the package should be loadable - more or less like being in classpath but without being specified to be in classpath at startup.

Like different classes that you created? Then you
put them in the same jar.
Even if you put them in seperate jars the original
jar has to get into the class path somehow. And
those other jars would get there the same way.For sure the framework itself is in one single JAR included in the classpath (or if extracted the class files lie in a path hierarchy included in the classpath).
Again the first class MUST be in your class path for
the code that you posted to work. I know that it has to be - but I'd like to avoid that. The code I've posted is the way it works right now. But I'd like to change that so that I don't need the first class to be in the class path.
That requires that you do something to get them
there.That's what I'm trying to find out - how can I get classes into the classpath after having started the runtime if they are bundled in external JARs (like e.g. the JDBC)?
How exactly are you currently delivering your stuff?I don't deliver any modules yet because I'd like to find a proper and easy way to handle that class/package loading problem before putting the project online.
My idea is:
- One JAR for the framework including all classes without modules.
- One JAR for every module which should be loaded and instantiated at runtime as defined in a global configuration file with the capability of "hot plugging", which means that I'm able load/start and stop/unload modules during runtime whenever I'd like to.
To implement the second part I guess I need a way to dynamically extend the classpath or dynamically load JARs.
There is no way to extend the class path. That is a
security feature of java.I see. What about the JarLoader I've found in the meanwhile written by Melanie Green. Is it a proper workaround?
You might note also that for the previous suggestion
it is complicated to load a jdbc driver via a
classloader. You can not use the standard code to do
it. There is a thread in the JDBC forum about this.I'll take a look - thank you very much!

Printing to Adobe PDF repeatedly from Excel macro causes Adobe PDF to ignore preferences

I have an Excel macro that uses Acrobat's virtual "Adobe PDF" printer to save each sheet of an Excel spreadsheet to a separate PDF file. To do this, I have set up the PDF printer to save automatically to the folder C:\PDF without prompting and not to open each PDF file after it is created. These preferences are respected when the macro prints the first sheet, but when it prints the second and third sheets, the PDF printer starts displaying its "Save As" dialog again and opening each PDF file after it is created. When I go back to the printer preferences after the macro finishes, the preferences that I set are still there, and if I run the macro again I get exactly the same behavior. This behavior is problematic because the macro expects each PDF file to be saved to a predictable location so that it can rename them. Side note: this print-then-rename technique works fine when I use the open source PDFCreator program instead of Acrobat. (Hello, Adobe?)

Why is there a while loading screen on some apps that doesn't load? I have to delete the app then restart?!?

What's with a White loading screen when I exit and app without closing it? I go back in and it just stays stuck on that same white loading screen with the circle, and does nothing!!!

How much space do you have left on your iPad ?
Also with your five fingers, slide them up on the screen to view multitasking menu and see how many apps are open. Then tap and hold one and close a bunch. This can slow things down and makes apps not work. Your iPad might not have enough RAM for everything.

Load from Infoprovider with selection package error

Hello,
Requirement: Data transfer from one application to another application in BPC
Version: BPC 7.5 NW SP08
Source application: MGMT
Target Application: LEGAL
Transformation File: Yes
Conversation File: Yes for Location Dimension
Source records: 103 (The data is for only one Location)
When I run Load from Infoprovider with selection Package (/CPMB/LOAD_INFOPROV_UI package) i am able to load 99 records loading and 4 records are getting error.
Error Message: 121 ,41513000,,N,AVER,Y,2011,,1030,1030,,,0.0000000
Line 121 :Dimension:LOCATION member: convert failed in line 121; rejected
Analysis: Location conversion is already in place and other 99 records are able to success on the same conversion rule. I have checked transformation, Conversion files. When I validate the transformation file with data then also i am seeing same error.
Note: I am using same package to load data from BW Cube to MGMT application that time i am able to load without error, When I load the same data from MGMT to LEGAL then this error is coming.
I appreciate any clue on this error.

We are able to solve the problem,
In the Account Dimension for one of the property we maintained some value with comma in it. That created a bad data and system throwing error.
After changing Account dimension attribute then the package is working fine.

Enhancing package 'load transactional data for BW infoprovider UI'

Dear,
for project reasons, we would like to enhance the package ''load transactional data for BW infoprovider UI'. To be more precisely, we want to add some dimensions to the method of data transfer 'replace & clear datavalues'. Now the system clears the data that mirror each entity/category/time/datasource. With only those dimensions, we cannot be precise enought, so in our case the system clears too many data. We want to be able to extend this with some dimensions.
Is there any way this can be adapted ?

SSIS Package Load Failure and is missing Execute SQL Task in Toolbox

Also, BIDS closes after right-clicking the toolbox and selecting “Choose Items”.
I’ve tried several ways to fix these issues with no success.
I’m running SSIS/SSMS/SQL Server 2008 R2 (but not running an SQL instance on my PC) on a Windows XP with Service Pack 3 workstation. I get the following errors:
WHEN OPENING BIDS:
I get 2 errors titled “Package Load Failure”. They both reference ‘Visual Studio Explorers and Designers Package’ as being what failed to load. The first message references GUID 8D8529D3-625D-4496-8354-3DAD630ECC1B. The second references GUID AA612177-A69A-4391-B2F4-17F8A88F4BBA
. They both mention contacting the package vendor, but I haven’t got any Add-ins loaded so I’m not sure what that means exactly. They also both ask if I’d like to skip loading the package in the future.
ONCE BIDS IS OPEN:
No error messages appear here. There is no ‘Execute SQL Task’ in the toolbox for Control Flows. Also, if I attempt to open a project containing this object (Execute SQL Task), I get this error in a modal window:

In an effort to fix this – I’ve rolled back the .NET Framework version to 3.0 and reinstalled back up to 4; I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled SQL Server 2008 R2 shared services as well as the entire application; I’ve cleared the .tbd files from my user profile;
and I’ve run several things from the command line (devenv.exe /resetuserdata, /setup, /resetskippkgs, etc.). Lastly – I’ve applied every Service Pack and update applicable to my PC (ok, it belongs to my employer – but no one here has been able to figure this
out either).
After having worked this for several days now and, I think, exhausting every available avenue from search engines – I turn to you. Please let me know if you can help. Also, I can provide any additional
files or information you may require.

Error: The Task has failed to load on Execute Package Task using TFS Build and MSBuild.exe on dedicated Build Machine.

I'm trying to automate my building and deployment of SSIS packages using TFS build definitionss in conjunction with MSBuild.exe on a separate build machine.
I have successfully built and deployed my projects but receive the following error:
Error: Failed to load task "etl_UWP_Stage_tstg_7_Large",type "". The contact information for this task is "Microsoft Corporation: Microsoft SQL Server .... "
This error happens at runtime as well as if I perform a "Validate..." on the SSIS Catalog on the server.
This only occurs when trying to execute a package that contains an Execute Package Task. Any other packages that are doing the actual work are working just fine.
In addition, when I do the MSBuild from my developer machine with the same deployment process everything works fine, even the Execute Package Task.
I can even open up the project on the build machine in VS2012, rebuild all, then deploy and everything works fine.
Some things I've considered/verified:
1) Visual Studio 2012 and Visual Studio Data Tools 2012 are both on the build machine and my local machine.
2) The .NET version being used by VS2012 is the same on the build machine and my local machine.
3) I find it suspicious that the "Type" referenced in the error above is blank...but not sure where to go with that.
4) Obvious difference is that during the TFS Build and Deploy on the build machine, everything is running under the TFS Service account, rather than my account...once again...not sure where to go with this, but it is a significant difference.
Has anyone had similar issues or have any thoughts on things to try?

Essentially I had to install SSIS on the build machine so that the 64-bit version for
ExecPackageTask.dll, was available. I did this from the original media CD selection Integration Services as a feature.

Excuse my newbie question.

We have a windows service running on our app server that deploys a package that executes other packages using execute package task. This package and rest of the packages are in the same folder at the same level under integration services
catalog. The package fails to execute with the above said error.
Execute package task is configured to run in 'in-process' mode. Changing delay validation to true/false in child packages didn't help.
ironically if the package is deployed using a console application from the app server the package gets executed just fine. I checked permissions, everything seem fine.
Is there anyway to get details of this error to understand the problem better? I am looking at reports > standard reports > all executions.

As it turns out, the 63bit ExecPackageTask.dll was not found under "C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\110\DTS\Binn". Installing "SQL Server Data Tools" installed only 32 bit version of the component under "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SQL
Server\110\DTS\Binn".
Is there a way to get 64bit version of this component without installing "Integration Services" (to avoid possible license issues)?

To make use of the 64-bit ExecPackageTask.dll, you also need the 64-bit SSIS runtime and 64-bit DTExec utility tool. To obtain the 64-bit SSIS runtime and tools, you have to install the SQL Server Integration Services service from your SQL Server 2012 install
media.
