Excel to WebI

Hi Guys,
Just wanted to know if Excel sheet Data can be imported to Webi and make our Report??
I have Excel sheet with 10,000 Rows,i want to import that and want to see Charts etc.
Is it possible??

Yes Web-I reports can be created through excel files but only via Web-I Rich Client.
For using WebI report panel in InfoView first you need to create an universe on the excel sheet, then you create web-I report
on that universe.

Unable to view Report Filters on Excel Services web part

I have an Excel 2010 file with Pivot Charts. I want users to be able to select filters for the pivot charts to modify their chart/report as needed.
This excel file with Pivot Charts is visualized using Excel Services Web Part on SharePoint 2010.
My problem: The Pivot Chart Filters do not appear on SharePoint. They are available when the file is opened in Excel 2010.
Is there a way to have chart/report filters show up on SharePoint (excel services web part)?

As per the article below it seems that Pivot Chart Filtering is not available with Excel services. The article reads
"PivotChart reports are not interactive when displayed in a browser. You cannot filter a PivotChart report directly, but if you interact
with the PivotTable report that supplies data for the PivotChart report, the PivotChart report updates accordingly. This means if you filter the PivotTable report, the PivotChart report updates to show the filtered data set."

Though this article is for MOSS 2007 but if you read the following article for SP 2010 it reads "All other unsupported features continue
to behave as they do in Office SharePoint Server 2007 for Excel Services."

Issue with Excel Access Web Part, with sites that were migrated from 2010 SP to 2013 SP

Hello,
If I try to add an Excel Access Web Part to a page I get the following:
**Note: This only happens with sites that were migrated from 2010 SharePoint to SharePoint 2013. If I create a new site the feature works like it should and loads the workbook. I've tested this on several sites, our environment is enterprise as well. Being
that the majority of our sites were migrated from 2010, I need this to work!

Excel in Web layout: calculation of total after a cell change

Hi,
I'm using BW 3.5 with SEM BPS 4.0 and Excel in Web layouts. I can see the total rows/columns are not updating automatically after a cell change like it does in "normal html-web". User has to press refresh or save to update the totals. Any workarounds?

Hi Aki,
no I mean in <u>Excel</u>.
When editing the layout, on the third screen, in excel, go to Tools->Options.
Then click on the "Calculation" Tab.
Calculation needs to be set to automatic otherwise you have to refresh to update any results for a given formula.

Error in Exporting HRMS people data to excel using WEB EDI.

Hi ,
I am using an existing integrator to export people data to excel using WEB ADI.
When the excel opens it first shows the it is trying to download data, but later shows an error message saying that an error has occurred in the script on this page

Error Object doesn't support this property or method.
Can anyone please throw some light as to what can be the cause of the error.

When I click the "Upload" button on GL Journal WebADI, The following error message is displayed:

I think this error is similar as your previous discussion, and I tried the solution as you mentioned, but not worked. If there is any new solution for the errors of this kind?

Hi Syed,
Place your Excel file in server and create a Web Intelligence report (Select source as Excel) on top of it. Now use this report as a source and create a dashboard using LIVE OFFICE or BI Web Services.

Are you able to define more than one named item in an excel viewer web part? I am for instance displaying a power pivot chart with a name chart1 and i also have some slicers added to the sheet in excel. can i show both the chart and the slicers in the

Excel service web part is not working

Hi All,
I have added Excel web access web aprt to SP2013 site, But web apart throughing beow error message
"We are Sorry, We ran into problem compelting your request "
Checked ULS logs got an below error
ExcelServerApp.ClearTempPath: Failed to create the Ecs temp path. Exception: System.UnauthorizedAccessException: Access to the path 'C:\windows\TEMP\Excel Server' is denied.

Hi Sandip,
Please access CA and go to Services on server page, then check if Excel Calculation Services is in started status. If not, please start it and test the issue again.
If it still doesn't help, please bring up IIS Manager and locate the site running ECS (might be SharePoint Web Services), then select Authentication in IIS section and disable ASP.NET Impersonation.

Export to Excel in Web Analysis

We are in the process of upgrading to Web Analysis (and the rest of the products for that matter) 11G and we're having an issue when someone tries to export to excel. It pops up and wants the user to drill down to excel.exe so it can launch excel and open the report.
Has anyone seen this before? If so what is the resolution?
I know there was a config fil in Analyzer 7 that we had to update a excelpath variable, but I don't see anything similar in 11g and I can't find a good admin guide for Web Analytics 11g.

Excel Services Web App Refresh failure

I started having an issue where manual refreshes of my Excel Workbooks are failing after installing SP1 in my Office Web Apps 2013 farm. The workbooks are configured to use a target application ID from the secure store service and they refresh fine
when opened in the Excel client application, just not in the browser. The error is "An error occurred while accessing application ID XXXX from the secure store service.
Nothing seems to show up in the ULS logs either when this happens.
Any ideas?

Download to excel from web report generated through ITS

We were on SAP 4.6B. We have several abap reports for which we have a web interface using ITS. On the broweser output we have provided a URL which reads 'Download to CSV file' . This has been achieved by modifying the function www_get_report. The mod first generates a unique filename and exports the name to the memory and generates the hyperlink. The abap report program ftp'ies a the csv file to the ITS server path as in the URL.
Now we have upgraded to ECC 5.0 and we want to achieve the download to CSV option without the modification. What would be the best way to achieve this in the netweaver platform.

The same report query runs for downloading the data into excel, I don't think you can limit the number of records in download.
You can achieve it using custom code, like on click of download excel redirect to another page and then restrict the data as per your need, or you can use the custom procedure to download the limited data.

Export to Excel in Web Analyzer: Change description

In Web Analyzer we have a button Export to Excel. When we click that button the report gets downloaded in to excel. By default the excel sheet will be saved as example 0Analysis_Pattern-87.
Is there any way, by default when i click on export to excel button, excel should save either by query description or by query technical name.
Where do i make such a setting.

Only one name can be kept while expoting to excel.
You may try bradcast option from your portal, There if you will choose format as excel and send then it will take the technical name of the report as file name.

The problem that I'm having is when a query is sent out via the reporting agent or whenever I export a web query to excel there are page breaks put on every column of the query. This becomes quite cumbersome whenever an end user or myself wants to print out a query.
I have already transported the packages included in the "How to Enhance Web Printing" and tested much of the functionality in BWD with no success.
Can anyone shed some light on how to adjust the page breaks or format when exporting a web query to excel or when sending a query out via the reporting agent?
