Exception handling in receiver sync SOAP comm channel

Hi experts,
We are developing following synchronous scenario: sRFC to SOAP.
In this, XI sends some data to an application and the application sends back the response. No problem so far.
However, this application can throw exceptions that we want to send back to SAP, these exceptions are not part of a message and we can only see them AS AN ERROR IN SXI_MONITOR in the receiver SOAP header, in the error tab, they look like:
"com.sap.engine.interfaces.messaging.api.exception.MessagingException: SOAP: response message contains an error XIAdapter/PARSING/ADAPTER.SOAP_EXCEPTION - soap fault:
Questions:
Is there any way to get these exceptions from the application and send them back to SAP as if they were the SOAP.response message??
What if we select Keep headers in the receiver SOAP channel?
do we need to create a fault message type and assign it in ID?
Any ideas?
Best regards,
David

check for the possibility of raising an alert which has SXMS_TO_ADAPTER_ERRTXT as the Container variable....so if there is an error this alert variable will get populated and you will receive an alert....applicable only for adapter engine alert...

  • Exception "JMSSecurityException: Not permit" when starting Comms Channel...

    Hi,
    We have XI 3.0 that has been running without issues in the comms channels for a long time.
    All of a sudden on one of our systems we are getting an error when starting the comms channel. The stacktrace is shown below:
    Channel error occurred; detailed error description: com.sap.aii.adapter.jms.api.connector.ConnectorException: Error creating message consumer: javax.jms.JMSSecurityException: Not permitted
    at com.sap.aii.adapter.jms.core.connector.ConnectorImpl.buildMessageConsumers(ConnectorImpl.java:446)
    We have tried resrting the J2EE engine, the whole XI instance, etc. and still this one channel continues to fail.
    I have tried creating new channels and they fail too.
    Has anyone seen this error before? Any idea how to resolve this?
    thanks
    Brian

    Hi Brain,
    It is showing security exception, so it is related to the credentials (may if you use the passwords or certificates those are expired) so check those credentials validity.

  • SOAP comm channel with SSLException error

    Hi,
    I have set up a SOAP to web service but I'm encountering this error :
    Message processing failed. Cause: com.sap.aii.af.ra.ms.api.RecoverableException: Peer sent alert: Alert Fatal: illegal parameter: iaik.security.ssl.SSLException: Peer sent alert: Alert Fatal: illegal parameter
    SOAP: call failed: iaik.security.ssl.SSLException: Peer sent alert: Alert Fatal: illegal parameter
    Has anyone also encountered this before? Is it because the target URL of the web service is using HTTPS?
    Thanks!

    Hi,
    Reconfigure the Web service client logical port and enable HTTP protocol instead of HTTPS.
    Please go through this link : http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/JSTSG/(WSR)Problems-P16.

  • Comm channel direction...

    Hi,
    One simple basic question..... I am using PI 7.1
    Landcape ECC --> PI --> third party
    If in PI Integration builder, I see a communication channel that says as follows, what does that indicate , is it reading the file from  ECC appl server or is it putting the file in the server ?? what does sender and receiver mean ?
    Comm channel name : xyz
    comm component : third party name
    adpter type: File
    Sender radio button selected
    Transport protocol : FTP
    Message protocol: File content conversion
    Adapter Engine: Central adapter engine
    Source tab:
    Dource directoy :/usr/sap/ecc/comm/sd/out/work/myfolder
    filename:  test*.xml
    FTP connection paremeters set with server and port numbers and user login details given
    content conversion tab:
    doc name, doc namespace set and record structure set as Record, 1

    Landcape ECC --> PI --> third party
    comm component : third party name
    Dource directoy :/usr/sap/ecc/comm/sd/out/work/myfolder
    First two details seem to contradict with Source Directory path!

  • Sync/Async - JMS receiver comm. channel not processing

    I have a Sync/Async scenario (without bpm) in PI 7.11:
    RFC -> PI -> JMS
    whereby the JMS receiver comm. channel does not fully process the message.
    More specifically, the RFC sender comm. channel gets a message in and passes the message to the JMS channel, but that JMS channel within the RWB comm. channel log only shows the entry:
    - Message processing started
    The odd twist to this is that when we bring the PI server down, then back up again, (or wait a period of time, still trying to determine this period) the FIRST message attempt does successfully get processed, i.e. the first message on that JMS receiver comm. channel RWB log shows as:
    - Channel successfully processed the message: 08499236-387c-11e0-b002-000025bab2c2
    - Stored the correlation ID 08499236-387c-11e0-b002-000025bab2c2 of the request JMS message: ID:c3e2d840d4d8d4f24040404040404040c754dc12d8b54ec6  correponding to the XI message: 08499236-387c-11e0-b002-000025bab2c2
    - Message processing started
    (but then because of an issue on the target system, no response comes back, so then we'll additionally get the log entry:
    - Message processing failed. Cause: com.sap.engine.interfaces.messaging.api.exception.MessagingException: no message received
    Any suggestions appreciated on what I can check here to try and figure this out. Possibly because the first message eventually errors out, it is stopping the other subsequent msgs from getting processed...
    When I check the audit logs of a 'success' msg vs. a not-successful msg, the success msg has an entry (and subsequent entries) of:
    14.02.2011 12:50:19 Information Transform: transforming the payload ...
    14.02.2011 12:50:19 Information Transform: successfully transformed
    14.02.2011 12:50:19 Information ROB: entering RequestOnewayBean
    14.02.2011 12:50:19 Information ROB: forwarding the request message
    14.02.2011 12:50:19 Information ROB: leaving RequestOnewayBean
    14.02.2011 12:50:19 Information JMS Message was forwarded to the JMS provider succesfully."
    14.02.2011 12:50:19 Information XMB Message as Binary was forwarded to the SAP XI JMS service succesfully.
    14.02.2011 12:50:19 Information WRB: entering WaitResponseBean
    14.02.2011 12:50:19 Information WRB: retrieving the message for 08499236-387c-11e0-b002-000025bab2c2 ...
    wheras the non-success msg shows only:
    14.02.2011 12:55:30 Information Transform: transforming the payload ...
    14.02.2011 12:55:30 Information Transform: successfully transformed
    14.02.2011 12:55:30 Information ROB: entering RequestOnewayBean
    14.02.2011 12:55:30 Information ROB: forwarding the request message
    14.02.2011 12:55:30 Information ROB: leaving RequestOnewayBean
    So, we can see that the message is not "forwarded to the JMS provider..." in the non-success case.
    And also the  sxi_monitor shows these messages with a status of "Log version".
    Keith

    Hi Siddhesh - yes that was a while back and am trying to remember the resolution.  I have implemented sync/async bridges (as well as async/sync bridges) successfully, so I don't mind checking your settings, particularly I am interested in the settings within the Module tab of the JMS receiver.  I can then compare to mine if you'd like.  Also if you can let me know what underlying queuing system in that target system (e.g. MQSeries?) that would be great.

  • Passing SAP Exceptions to a sync SOAP Call

    Hi,
    I have a scenario in which I have exposed a RFC as a Web service through XI. My sender is SOAP sender who invokes XI which inturn calls the RFC in SAP.
    When there is any Error or exception triggered from SAP i.e invalid userid or Insufficient Authorization error I want to capture these errors and send it back to the Sender SOAP system.
    I understand that I can use Fault messages but the fault message would be triggered only when my RFC throws an Exception. IF SAP triggers an exception even before the call reaches the RFC then how do I handle these errors??
    Pls advice.
    Thanks
    Ashish

    Hi,
    I tried your steps but I still cannot map my Error XML Message to a valud Fault Message.
    This is my Error XML message being generated from SAP RFC Gateway:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="yes" ?>
    - <!--  Call Adapter
      -->
    - <SAP:Error xmlns:SAP="http://sap.com/xi/XI/Message/30" xmlns:SOAP="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" SOAP:mustUnderstand="1">
      <SAP:Category>XIAdapterFramework</SAP:Category>
      <SAP:Code area="MESSAGE">GENERAL</SAP:Code>
      <SAP:P1 />
      <SAP:P2 />
      <SAP:P3 />
      <SAP:P4 />
      <SAP:AdditionalText>com.sap.aii.af.ra.ms.api.DeliveryException: RfcAdapter: receiver channel has static errors: can not instantiate RfcPool caused by: com.sap.aii.af.rfc.RfcAdapterException: error initializing RfcClientPool:com.sap.aii.af.rfc.core.repository.RfcRepositoryException: can not connect to destination system due to: com.sap.mw.jco.JCO$Exception: (103) RFC_ERROR_LOGON_FAILURE: Name or password is incorrect. Please re-enter</SAP:AdditionalText>
      <SAP:ApplicationFaultMessage namespace="" />
      <SAP:Stack />
      <SAP:Retry>M</SAP:Retry>
      </SAP:Error>
    What am I doing wrong? I have a Mapping defined between my RFC Exception and Fault Message but the above xml message is not compatible with my RFC Exception Message schema therefore I do not see any message going back to the SOAP Sender.
    The scenario is that the RFC Receiver comm channel between XI and SAP has an invalid userid. My guess is that even before the call reaches to the RFC , SAP gives this error as XI cannot connect to SAP R/3 with an invalid userid.
    I want to capture the above error message and send it back to the SOAP caller. As of now he gets a bad java stack trace which does not mean anything.
    Please advice.
    Thanks
    Ashish

  • PI 7.3 receiver AAE idoc scenario-No receiver comm channel found in ICO

    Hi,
    I am working in PI 7.3 receiver AAE idoc scenario.When I try to configure Integrated Configuration(ICO),I am not able to see the receiver comm channel in receiver agreement.
    What is the reason for this??I have configured the communication channel,but still its not shown in reciver agreement dropdown.
    Please help.
    Regards,
    Sriparna

    Hi Sriparna,
    In PI 7.3 there is are two separate IDoc adapters: "standard" IDoc adapter and one that is dedicated for AAE (ICO). Make sure that you have used the right one - most probably not, which is why you cannot see the channel in the dropdown list.
    Hope this helps,

  • Receiver SOAP Communication channel -- Target URL

    Hi Experts,
    Can anyone provide some inputs for my below question?
    How the receiver SOAP Communication channel internally calls the Target URL?
    What is the internal process behind this call?
    I would really appreciate you all if could provide answers.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Prabu Muthu

    Hi...
    To be able to send SOAP messages from the Integration Server/PCK to remote clients or Web service servers, you must first configure the receiver SOAP adapter. The receiver adapter supports system acknowledgments but not application acknowledgments
