  • Cannot perform Bean lookup on signed Applet jar

    Hi All,
    I'm after developing an applet which runs from a number of jars on an Orion app server. Each one of these jars are signed and I can access the Applet okay. The problem is that I make remote reference to EJB's throughout the application. I cannot perform a Bean lookup on a signed jar. The only way it can be done is when the Client is granted all permissions. The client should pop up an option to grant permissions.

    If u are signing all the jar file along with the applet it should work
    It does work fine with me. my code given below
    note that i carry the following jar files along with my applet jar.
    orion.jar,ejb.jar,,jta.jar,jnet.jar,jsse.jar,jcert.jar,parser.jar
    and have them in my archive attribute of my html code for the applet
    also all these jars are signed
    hope this helps
    regards
    raees

  • Ejb3 session bean lookup

    Hello, I have following problem with the ejb3 and session bean lookup:
    For example, I have a session bean with some dummy method, i.e. getInfo() :
    @Stateless
    public class MySessionBean implements MySessionLocal {
    public String getInfo() {return "Hello from Session bean";}
    When I lookup and use this bean in servlet in the following way, everything is OK:
    public class MyServlet extends HttpServlet {
    @EJB() MySessionLocal mySession;
    protected void doPost(HttpServletRequest request, HttpServletResponse response) {
    out.println(mySession.getInfo());
    On the other side, when I create some java bean object as a facade, import and use it in servlet , it doesn't work:
    public class Facade {
    @EJB() MySessionLocal mySession;
    public String getInfo() { return mySession.getInfo();}
    public class MyServlet extends HttpServlet {
    protected void doPost(HttpServletRequest request, HttpServletResponse response) {
    Facade myFacade = new Facade();
    out.println(myFacade.getInfo());
    When servlet runs and gets to the command myFacade.getInfo(), NullPointerException is thrown, because mySession object in myFacade is null (ejb lookup method probably fails to perform...)
    I'm trying to use Facade to be able to use my Session Bean in JSP pages, i.e. to do something like <jsp:useBean id="myFacade" class="Facade" ...>
    Could someone clarify why lookup doesn't work in javabean object, despite the fact that it works in servlets?
    P.S. I'm running the latest promoted build (b31) of GlassFish (maybe this is the cause) and NetBeans IDE...

    Hi,
    Have you tried to find out what the class actually is ?
    <code>
    Context ctx = new InitialContext();
    Object ref = ctx.lookup("MessageSender");
    Object objUnknown= PortableRemoteObject.narrow(ref,SenderHome.class);
    System.out.println ("Class of object is :" +objUnknown.getClass());

  • Stateless Session Bean lookup truble on standalone OC4J (9.0.3)

    Hi all,
    I've folowing truble:
    I deploy my app, start browser and get an Excwption
    javax.naming.NamingException: Error instantiating web-app JNDI-context: No location specified and no suitable instance found for the ejb-ref 'ejb/ActivationSessionHome', an EJB with matching home and remote name was found, but it was an Entity, not a Session.

    Please help me understand and fix this %-(
    Thanks.

    Hi Vladimir,
    I understand that you are trying to access a session bean from a servlet where both the session bean and servlet are part of the same J2EE application that you have deployed to (stand-alone) OC4J. If this is correct, then have you seen the following tutorial (which does exactly the same thing):
    http://kb.atlassian.com/content/tutorials/jollem/orion-primer/
    Hope this helps you.
    Good Luck,

  • Local session bean lookup in another local session bean in EJB 3.0

    Hi,
    I am doing JNDI lookup of a local session bean in a session bean. ( I do not want to use EJB dependency injection).
    Lookup of local interface from session bean is successful. But, when the calling session bean is a local session in another session bean, the lookup fails.
    Here is an example:
    @Stateless
    @EJBs({@EJB(name="EJB2Local", beanInterface=EJB2Local.class),
    @EJB(name="EJB3Local", beanInterface=EJB3Local.class)})
    public class EJB1 implements EJB1Remote, EJB1Local{
    public void findEJB3Local(){
    //1. JNDI lookup for EJB3Local ----
    //2. EJB3Local.someFunction()
    @Stateless
    @EJB(name="EJB1Local", beanInterface=EJB1Local.class)
    public class EJB2 implements EJB2Remote, EJB2Local{
    public void findEJB1Local(){
    //1. JNDI lookup EJB1Local
    // 2. Call EJB1Local.findEJB1Local method
    //THIS METHOD CALL WILL FAIL.
    public void findEJB1Remote(){
    //1. JNDI lookup EJB1
    / 2. Call EJB1Local.findEJB1 method
    @Stateless
    public class EJB3 implements EJB3Remote, EJB3Local{
    public void someFunction(){}
    This setup was working in EJB 2.1, as we had clear ejb-local-ref definitions in our ejb-jar.xml file.
    I am suspecting that EJB 3.0 has special annotation to use when lookup is made from another local session bean.
    Any comments will be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Mohan

    From a private component environment perspective, declaring @EJB in a bean class is equivalent
    to using ejb-ref or ejb-local-ref for that same bean in ejb-jar.xml. In each case, the EJB dependency
    is declared for that bean. Each EJB component has its own private component environment, so
    code running within invocations on different EJBs can not see the component environment of the
    components that made the invocations.
    What exact error are you getting? Please post the stack trace if possible.

  • Double click on menu = exception : managed bean problem ?

    Hello,
    I am a beginner with JSF and I have to work on an existing project.
    In my Web application, my problem is that if the user doubles click on some navigation links, then an exception is raised.
    Technically, I think that 2 consecutive HTTP requests sent to the server enter in competition and thus the state of certain variables becomes inconsistent. This problem appears when the 2nd click is sent to the server before the server answered the treatment of the 1st click.
    My current assumption is directed towards the managed beans used in the application (I am not (yet ;) ) a master on the subject). In fact, the main menu is attached to managed bean which are all of type session. At the time of the creation of the bean, a certain quantity of treatment is done to prepare information to be posted on the page. Other treatments are obviously done during the treatment of page JSF (Java code called by JSF of the).
    I think that at the time of the first call, the managed bean is possibly initialized. At the time of the 2nd click on the page, this bean re-initialized or is simply removed if the user has clicked on another menu (which refers to another bean).
    Would you have an idea of the veracity of my assumption?
    Would you have an idea how to solve the problem?
    I am currently looking for a JavaScript which allows me to disable all buttons on the page before the complete response of the server (that in order to prevent the user from clicking on an action before its preceding action is not treated).
    Thank you in advance for your help and all your ideas !

    Launch the Terminal utility and type this command, each followed by the "return" key:
    ls -lad .Trash
    ls -la .Trash
    The "l" in those commands is the lower-case letter "L".
    The first command shows you the ownership and permissions of the .Trash folder. On my system my user "short name" is listed as the owner and group. The permissions are "drwx------".
    The second command shows you any files within the .Trashes folder. (Ignore the entries ending in one and two periods.) You should be the owner of anything in it. The permissions on anything there should start with "-rw" or "drw".
    If you see anything different, describe what you see and someone will be able to give you instructions for repairing it.

  • Exception in RFC Lookup

    Hi Experts,
    I have a query in Graphical RFC Lookup function.
    I am working on Pi 7.1 and scenario is File to Idoc.
    In the file, material number is coming, and I have to find out the corresponding Customer number from ECC table using RFC Lookup.
    I know how to use RFC lookup.
    But here issue is, if Customer Number is not maintained in the ECC table for the incoming material number, then exception should be thrown and processing should be stopped at that moment.
    Please tell me how to throw this exception and hence fail the mapping.
    -Supriya.

    Hi ,
    I guess you want to fail the message transformation at Message mapping level with Red Error in Monitoring , If LOOKUP return Nothing ...
    What You can Do Is , Instead of RFC LOOKUP Function , Use UDF Based RFC LOOKUP , and Inside UDF you can easily raise exception.
    Or
    In Grapphical Message mapping pass the result from RFCLOOKUP To a 1..1 Target , if during transfermation if 1..1 node will not get any value , so mapping will get failed automatoicaly ..
    hope the idea Helps
    regards

  • Raising exceptions in database lookups in message mapping

    Hi
       We have been able to successfully do a database lookup from within a message mapping - thanks to weblogs already existing out there. However, we have requirement that states that - if the lookup fails ( failure to connect to DB / data retrieved is null ) , then the mapping should fail - and an exception raised.
    How can we go about doing this from within the java code - of the mapping lookup ?
    Any correct pointers /solutions to achieve this will be rewarded rightaway. Thanks in advance for your time.

    Hi,
    you can use Alessandro's way:
    /people/alessandro.guarneri/blog/2006/01/26/throwing-smart-exceptions-in-xi-graphical-mapping
    this way you can throw smart exceptions:)

  • RuntimePermission exception on RMI lookup on a signed Applet

    Hi everybody,
    Here is my problem : I want to call an ejb from my applet, using RMI.
    But, as it is an applet, I get a security exception when I make the naming lookup :
    java.security.AccessControlException: access denied (java.lang.RuntimePermission accessClassInPackage.sun.rmi.server)
    I have been wandering for two days in the Java Sun sites and forums to find out how to pass through this problem.
    Too many information is no information : I am not sure to have the correct answer; but here is what I have found :
    All I have to do is to make a self-signed Applet (for testing purpose, before having a real certificate), using keytool and jarsigner, and use it with Java Plugin. Doing that will give AllPermission to the signed code, if the user agrees through a Java Plugin dialog.
    (see http://java.sun.com/products/plugin/1.2/docs/nsobjsigning.html)
    But... that doesn't work (who said 'of course' ?) :
    I get the granting dialog, and even if I agree, I always get the same java.lang.RuntimePermission accessClassInPackage exception.
    The strange think is that I tried to write a file on the client machine for testing the permission, and that works fine with this same signed applet.
    I think that AllPermission implies FilePermission and also RuntimePermission, doesn't ?
    Is this behaviour related to my self-signed certificate ? (in this case, why can i write a file ?)
    What am I missing ?
    Any help will be welcome,
    many thanks
    bernard
    PS. : Of course, i don't want the user to modify its java policy or security configuration as it is often "mission impossible".

    Sorry, i forgot : i am using Java Plugin v 1.3.1_02

  • JPA2 / Hibernate on WL 10.3.5: exception in Bean Validation

    Hi all,
    I am deploying on Weblogic 10.3.5. Our application uses JPA 2.0 and our provider is Hibernate 4.1.7. So far this has been working for us without a problem.
    My problems started when I tried to add Bean Validation (JSR-303) implemented by the Hibernate Validation, as I get a strange stacktrace where Hibernate Validator looks up the classpach for loaded JPA providers, and instead of Hibernate, OpenJPA comes up, a version that is incompatible with JPA 2.
    JPA 2 + Hibernate work properly for months now, so there is no doubt as to whether JPA 2 has been enabled properly.
    Apparently, this has been recorded as an issue on Hibernate Jira ( [HV-425|https://hibernate.onjira.com/browse/HV-425] ), but with a different persistence provider and an earlier Weblogic version (10.3.3 and 10.3.4).
    Is there something I have mis-configured that is preventing Hibernate to be picked up as my persistence provider?
    This is my EJB code where I try to validate my top-level entity:
    @TransactionAttribute(TransactionAttributeType.REQUIRED)
    public void saveResult() throws ResultInvalidException{
         ValidatorFactory factory = Validation.buildDefaultValidatorFactory();
         Validator validator = factory.getValidator();
         Set<ConstraintViolation<FullResultsSet>> violations = validator.validate(result);
         if(!violations.isEmpty()) {
              throw new ResultInvalidException(violations);
         result.setCreatedDate(new Date());
         if(result.getRevisionNumber() != null) {
              result.setRevisionNumber(result.getRevisionNumber() + 1);
         } else{
              result.setRevisionNumber(1L);
         if (result.getFullResultsSetId() == null) {
              getEm().persist(result);
         getEm().flush();
    }This is my startWeblogic.cmd (I have added the JSF 2 libraries):
