Nice try, but it's not <code> tags. Use square brackets.
This is a wonderful example of how not to write Java, in particular JDBC code. Empty catch blocks are especially foolish. You'll never know if errors occur. Why not print the stack trace?

Raising exceptions in database lookups in message mapping

Hi
We have been able to successfully do a database lookup from within a message mapping - thanks to weblogs already existing out there. However, we have requirement that states that - if the lookup fails ( failure to connect to DB / data retrieved is null ) , then the mapping should fail - and an exception raised.
How can we go about doing this from within the java code - of the mapping lookup ?
Any correct pointers /solutions to achieve this will be rewarded rightaway. Thanks in advance for your time.

How to implement Exception Handling for soap to RFC sync interface...

Dear All,
This is clearly soap to rfc interface and we are using currently PI 7.0. This is a validation of BAPI, BAPI is not accepting the field of "Quantity is some value". The quatity is greater than the amount BAPI is throwing an error like "APPLICATION_ERROR". Is it possbile to validate in XI Level.
Soap --> XI--> BAPI(Request)
BAPI--> XI-->Soap(Response)( in this step what ever message return by bapi those error message not getting 3 rd party application).
here by catching that error and i should throw to 3rd party application.
is it possible to handle this or not.?
If it is possible in Fault Mapping/Fault message type please give me the steps or document for me.

Leap Year Exception in Exit Variable

Hello Experts,
                       I have a Customer exit variable(ZVAR_PREVIOUS_MONTH) which displays data for previous month of input date. When i am entering 02/29/2008(which is a leap year) as input then the variable throws an error saying "Value "20070229" for user exit varaible is invalid. And thats true since 2007 is not a leap year. So how can i handle this Leap Year Exception

Your description doesn't make sense. If you input 2008, why is the error showing 2007? Could you post your code here so we can have a look?
I think you are trying to implement the exit such that if you supply 02/29/2008, the variable should resolve to 01/01/2008 - 01/31/2008. Is that correct?

Exception "algorithm ARC4 is not available from Provider Cryptix "

i am developing the application in which i am using two encryption/decryption algorithms one is "RC4" and second is "AES(256 bit key)".
1.first i am taking the credit card number from database which is in

my program is able to decrypt the only first credit card numbers using RC4 and then encrypt it using AES(as shown in bold above) but it is not able decrypt the rest of the credit card number from the database using "RC4" and it is throwing above exception regarding the "RC4" algorithm .
can anybody tell me what is reason behind this exception? my guess is the we cann't use the two providers simultaneously.

Previously I have changed the document dispostal time out to 1 year but the error still occurs.
Now I change the document inline size from 64 KB to 27 MB (estimated max document size) and see how the LCES behaves.
I suspect if document size is larger than document inline size then LCES will write to some temp file. After that, user does not process the task for a long time, e.g. 3 days. And during the 3 days, the unix system/ websphere auto clear the temp file. After 3 days when user accesses the task again, LCES will complain "document is not in sending server side any more" ....

For the Document sweep interval, I think, it relates Watch Folder, not this error so I don't change it.

Generalised Event Exception Handler

Hi all experts,
Can anybody plz tell how to create a generalised Exception Handler , so that wenever a exception is generated in the main method the Exception Event Handler shud be initialised to catch the exception for all the exceptions generated at runtime.
I want the Exception Event Handler to catch the exceptions for RFC BAPI,EJB Webservice,etc..as i am using this in my application to give general message at runtime if any exceptions is generated from the try-catch block.

Is it possible to trap a Java Exception from within an XPRESS Rule?

Hellos.
I have a rule which invokes a Java method which queries an oracle DB table.
Due to network problems the oracle DBMS may reset the connection in some situations... which results in my Rule's invokation of the method giving an XPRESS exception because of an IO Exception. I want the chance to retry the query at least once before exiting the Rule and returning the error.
If it is possible to detect this Exception would someone please let on how its done.. I cant change the Java method all I wish to do in my Rule is to check if the <invoke></invoke> block threw an exception.

Dynamic Filename doubt!!!

Hi Experts
I have a bypass scenario where I need not do any transformation to the file but need to change the filename scheme.
The sourcefile name is XYZ.txt whereas the target needs to be <IDOCNUM>_X_Y.DAT
As of now we have used a java mapping to achieve this but I was looking out for something simpler.
I mean can we straighaway catch the IDOCNUM(comes in source payload) and use it for filename scheme?

I am facing one AccessDenied Exception for this Object. ( USER/GUEST)
Is there any security zone, or other Permissions Problem, if so can you plz guide me what are the settings i have to change inorder to resolve this exception

How to get the Response Code when a URL is launched from Web Dynpro

I have a Web Dynpro Application in which in one of its views i have an IFrame UI element in which i will show a resource stored somewhere ..
But before showing it i want to check if the resource actually exists. For this i have to check the HTTP Response code from Web Dynpro Application without setting it in the Iframe..
I am using the following code to get the Response Code:

Envp- open hangs after crash

Hello All,
If I repeatedly kill a test app that opens and closes a BDB databaseate, I eventually get into a state where envp->open() freezes and never returns. I accept that open() may throw an exception and I may need to call Open() again with the DB_RECOVER flag, but I can not allow it to hang indefinitely. It is not an option for me to call open() with the DB_RECOVER flag every time I open the database because this must be process and thread safe.
Can anyone offer some assistance for how to get around this problem? The only solution I could think of was to spawn a new thread from which to call envp->open, and kill that thread if it did not complete in time, but that is hardly an acceptable solution.
I am using BDB version 4.7.25.

We have implemented a monitor thread that calls failchk(), but the monitor thread is blocked during environment open and close operations. Should I be calling failchk() immediately prior to calling envp->close() to limit the potential for a deadlocked close operation?
Update: I tried adding a call to failchk() immediately prior to my call to envp->close(). I managed to get a hang from within failchk() on my first test run.
Occasionally, I get the following output when calling envp->open() on an environment that has recently died within a different process:
unable to join the environment
Recovery function for LSN 2 194808 failed on forward pass
PANIC: No such file or directory
unable to join the environment
Followed by an "Attempted to read or write protected memory. This is often an indication that..." exception

out of 10 container 9 are working, but 1 is having problem.
The error i am getting is " Could not compute the map view response due to exception"

You probably have restricted access to the file. Check if the drive is ntfs. If the os user is in administrator group, you can give permissions in file properties.
