Exception when querying java.lang.InetAddress

Hi,
When attempting to query an object based on its ipaddress, I ran into the following problem:
[java] Exception in thread "main" <4|false|4.0.1> kodo.persistence.ArgumentException: The specified parameter of type "class java.net.Inet4Address" is not a valid query parameter.

My query:
("select i from Interface i where i.testAddress = addr").setParameter("addr", InetAddress.getLocalHost())
I have tried this using Inet4Address in the hope that Kodo was having some issues with polymorphism but the same problem occurs.
The mapping is defined as follows:
@Basic
public InetAddress getTestAddress ()
return _test;
public void setTestAddress (InetAddress test)
_test = test;
I have tried using @Lob but this made no difference. Is it possible to create queries based on a LOB?

java.sql.SQLException: Invalid state, the Connection object is closed
It answers your question to an extent. Check if your connection or recordset object is closed

  • Financial Reporting Exception - Error executing query: java.lang.Arithmetic

    Hi all,
    I'm using the Financial Reporting Studio 11.1.2.507 to develop a report to a planning application, so i'm using a planning connection to do it. This report involves some calcs and i have sure that is possible generate a divide by zero. But what happen is: I started developing this report using the user admin and no error message was shown. Then when i tryed to acess this report with a user other than the admin user the error occurs: "Error executing query: java.lang.ArithmeticException: / by zerojava.lang.ArithmeticException".
    So, have you seen this scenario before?
    Could you help me with this issue?
    p.s: if i wasn't clear enough, please tell me!
    Warm regards,
    Rafael Melo - Brasil

    Mehmet,
    Thanks a lot for your quick response. The error message appears when i acess through the workspace. When I was developing I was acessing with admin user (FR Studio) and now I'm using other user to test the report in the workspace. I've commited a mistake when i thought that the user point of view that I defined when i was developing would be applied over all users. So, when I opened the report with a user other than the admin the error ocurred because the default attributes resulted in a empty resultset or something like that.
    Is there a way to define a user point of view (pov) for all user at once?
    Best Regards,
    Rafael Melo

    This is the response I got from support:
    This is bug 22205 and will be fixed in the release of the Exchange Groupware Portlet Suite 3.0.4 at the end of April. The workaround in the interim is to copy the D:\Program Files\plumtree\jre folder from the installation CD (or another working portal server) onto the problem server. Please let me know if this resolves the issue for you. Neal Rapoporthttp://www.portalconsultant.com

    Can anybody tell me what conditions would cause this error?

    well yes:
    panel.addGLEventListener(new GLR());
    "GLR" implements "GLEventListener" and defines the required methods
    I installed the Netbeans OpenGL Pack on NetBeans 6.5 and there is a problem with that...mh :(
    Ok I also tried to create a GLPanel-Sample-Project and modify it but netbeans don't know "javax.swing.GroupLayout;" I installed the JDK as well.
    mh what can i do: try to fix my actual error or try to get GroupLayout in java.swing^^

    [ ERROR ] CFG-ERR-0103 Unable to start IBM Cognos 8 service.
    Execution of the external process returns an error code value of '1'.Not sure where went wrong. Already followed many suggestions are already there in different sites. But, so far no luck.
    Is there any path I need to add in CLASSPATH other than what I have?
    Also, check few oracle docs regarding the same. But, nothing can eliminate this problem.
    Can you please suggest?
    Really appreciate your time for reading this.

  • Unexpected exception with file: java.lang.NullPointerException

    Hi :)
    Still a Newbee
    Geting the message Unexpected exception with file: java.lang.NullPointerException
    Have traced the error down with the use of System.out.println(a sequential number); but having got it down to bReader.close();, I think, I'm not understanding why. I think it has something to do with the line while (text != null){
    Don't fully understand yet as a newbee, but one can only learn. Like my other error (I once spent six hours on a pair of {}!!!! we all learn) I've spent two evenings now resarching and trying to solve this, so a bit of help would be very much appreciated.
    Error occurs after System.out.println(7);
    Code
    private void initialiseData()
    String text;
    int size;
    try
    File file = new File("needleData.txt");

  • Serious system error while executing the query: java.lang.OutOfMemoryError

    From ALSB, we are trying to insert records in a table, by calling the ALDSP webservice. It is working fine when the xml (ie., given as input to the ALDSP webservice) is small. But facing the following error when the input xml size is large.
    <ALDSP> <BEA-000000> <Product> <Serious system error while executing the query:
    {ld:ABC/Test}createTest:1
    java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: Java heap space
    We do not want to increase the heap size. Is there any other way we can solve this problem?

    In logical dataservice of ALDSP we have created a procedure called createTest, which is used to insert mulitple rows in the table. We have created a webservice for that logical DataService.
    Using the ALSB, we are calling the webservice -> createTest Operation and we are passing xml as input to that createTest function.
    Input xml:
    <ns1:createTest>
    <ns1:createTemps>
    <ns0:createTemp>
         <ns0:field1>1</ns0:field1>
              <ns0:field10>test1</ns0:field10>
    </ns0:createTemp>
    <ns0:createTemp>
         <ns0:field1>2</ns0:field1>
              <ns0:field10>test2</ns0:field10>
    </ns0:createTemp>
         </ns1:createTemps>
    </ns1:createTest>
    each ns0:createTemp represent a row that need to be inserted in the table.
    When the number of ns0:createTemp is less ( when the number of rows that need to be inserted is less) then no problem occurs, it is getting inserted properly. But when there are more number of ns0:createTemp then we are getting the following error
    <ALDSP> <BEA-000000> <Product> <Serious system error while executing the query:
    {ld:ABC/Test}createTest:1
    java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: Java heap space

  • Uncaught exception: Static initializer: java/lang/SecurityException

    So i'm trying to compile some code of a small game for Doja.
    The code compiles fine but when i load it in the emulator i get the following eror:
    Uncaught exception java/lang/Error: Static initializer: java/lang/SecurityException.
    Now i haven't seen that before. I looked into it and first i thought there must be some static initializer block in some class but there isn't.
    Now i'm kinda stumped. What else can be the problem?

    A security exception is usually thrown when you try to use some function of the API that you're not allowed to use.
    For example, if the user has not given your application permission to connect to the internet, but you try to do so.
    Sometimes this error can be resolved by turning on the appropriate option in the ADF file.
    Cheers,
    Sam

    ThanxYou don't want to select the columns, you want to select the object itself.
    SELECT u FROM Unit u ORDER BY u.unitName
    or even shorter:
    FROM Unit u ORDER BY u.unitName
    Try to reason where to put your question by the way, it is not about Javaserver Faces. If you can't find a forum that clearly matches consider putting it in Java Programming. In this case it was entirely unnecessary since you already posted JPA questions in the EJB forum, which is a decent match.

  • Are there any problems to expect when srializing java.lang.Object?

    When having code like this:
    public class SomeClass implements Serializable{
    private final String NULL_CONSTANT="dmmystring";
    private Object result=new String(NULL_CONSTANT);
    ...whatever
    Class java.lang.Object is not implementing the Serializable Interface. In practise, this works fine however, I would like to understand this question. Will serialization work in every case as long as result is set to a serializable type?

    hi,
    If the object does not implement the Serilizable marker interface, then when you try to serialize the object, you will get a NotSerializableException. Also when you try to serialize a object, java will check to see if any variables contained in the object are also serializable and if so it serializes the same so in effect all attributes of the object must be either serializable or marked transient. When you mark a variable as transient, for eg
    transient Vector v;
    this object will not be serialized.
    you might want to check out the article at
    http://java.sun.com/docs/books/performance/1st_edition/html/JPIOPerformance.fm.html#11352
    It contains ways to improve serialization, but it will also be useful in understanding the Serialization concepts as such...
    hope this helpzz

  • Exception when deploying java web-service to PI 7.1 via JSPM

    Dear Friends,
    While uploading a self created web-service to PI 7.1 via java support package manager, we get an exception during the deployment process - which says: "WebServices Common deployment exception. The reason is: Unable to generate complex types". The JSPM main log for the deployment is attached to this message.
    The complex type that is used is a Java Class with one data member of type String.
    Thanks in advance,
    Udi Dekel.

    Hi Udi,
    There could be a thousand reasons to this problem. Please go through the checklist , one of them is bound to work.
    1) Verify whether the process table on SAP J2EE server and it says that SDM is running.
    2) You have to enter the SDM host as the name of your J2EE server with the port. Go to:
    Window -> Preferences -> SAP J2EE engine -> Here Enter the values of Message Server Host and Message Server Port.
    3) For some reason the SDM wasn't started by the MMC. Since I was not able to start the SDM via MMC, I started it manually via DOS prompt "StartServer". After that the deployment of the application worked fine.
    4) Try updating the hosts file:
    C:\<WINDOWS-version>\system32\drivers\etc
    Append the following line:
    <localhost IP> name of the localhost.
    e.g.10.590.789.10 remotehost
    Reboot your PC, be sure all threads of the J2EE Engine are running and try to deploy again.
    5) You should use port 39xx instead of 36xx (where xx - SCS instance number).
    6)Please check message server settings on
    visual admin tool:server->kernel->cluster manager
    and check ms.host and ms.port values from the table. If you do your J2ee settings according to these values it will probably work fine.
    The reason why you are getting SDM error is ,at the previous versions there was settings for SDM in preferences and you had to set the port number for SDM ( which was 50018 + 100 * <instance number> ). There is no specific settings for SDM in preferences anymore.
    Regards

  • Exception in "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError:

    I'm in the wrong forum, but can't figure out how to move it. Ok, I've reread the section on setting the classpath 12 times & I still get this error. I created a CLASSPATH variable both under the user & system variable of the environmental variables. I'm using Windows XP. The CLASSPATH is set at C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.5.0_07\bin
    Somebody please help me, I'm a student & at my wits end.

    Delete the Classpath environmental variables. Go to the directory where your .class file is. Enter "java YourClassName" Do not put .class or .java at the end - just put in the class name. Use the same upper/lower case characters that your class name uses in the .java file. If you need more help, post the 'exact' error message and the 'exact' command you are using.
