Exchange 2013 incoming emails being delayed

grey mail can do this, as can grey listing. - on your spam filter are they delivered on time but slow at the exchange side or are they delayed by your filter before being delivered?

  • SharePoint 2013 - Incoming email with smtp alias domain

    Hi All
I have configured the following for SharePoint 2013 Incoming email.
CA - Incoming email - enabled
Automatic and received mail from all servers
    email server display address:
    [email protected]
smtp installed on one SharePoint server and configured with
defautl domain:  spservername.domain.net and alias domain:
    spmail.domainname.net
emails are receiced in SharePoint lists / library are working when incoming email settings using the default local smtp domain (spservername.domainname.net) but not working when using the alias domain (spmail.domainname.net).
Can anyone advice of what I have done wrong or missing in my configuration?
Thanks in advance for your comments or advices

I tried that but that did not work.  I got this error below.  Does that mean I need to create a DNS MX record for spmail.domainname.net to point it to the smtp server
    spservername.domain.net
    Thanks

It looks like you have a DNS mis-configuration in this case with regards to how your MX record is configured (if it exists at all).

  • All incoming emails being marked as 'read' on my Droid x

All incoming emails to my pop3 or imap accounts are being automatically marked as 'Read'.
    Any fix for this issue?
If I have outlook open, which is running exchange client  Outlook 2007, and my Droid is running imap or pop3, messages being delivered are being displayed as READ.
I have tried closing outlook, and then downloading emails to my droid without reading any of the 80 unread emails - then turning off my Droid....Followed by opening Outlook, but the messages show up in outlook as being READ.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Have you installed any apps that auto display the emails when they come in? If so the auto read feature may be triggering this, I had a app at one time that showed my emails in the preview window and it made the emails be listed as read... I would check your apps and make sure you are not using something like this unknowingly.

  • Sending email using Exchange 2013 defined email addresses not the account email address.

Currently we are using exchange 2013. Let's say a user has a mailbox account defined that has a default email reply address of [email protected] Now I define additional email address for the same account. When the user tries to send an email he can only send from
the default email address. Is it possible to send from a defined email anndress and not the default account email address?

    Not natively with Exchange.
You will need 3rd party software if you want to have only one mailbox and the ability to send as any of the proxy addresses associated with it
    Example:

Not sure if Exchange 2013 is supported with it yet

  • Exchange 2013 (lab): emails stuck in OWA Drafts

Hello I have setup for testing purposes an Exchange 2013 CU5 on a 2012R2 which is also DC and DNS.Network wise I have two virtual interfaces one for the internal network (10.10.10.x/24) and another one linked to the Ethernet physical interface of my computer
which gets its properties from DHCP (usually my gateway router).
Everything seem to work normally but when I try to send emails to the outside world I only get a copy of it inside the Drafts folder. :-)
I thoroughly checked the DNS service (inside the Exchange too), A, PTR records and SOA, I tested the DNS server and nslookuped some internet addresses all resolving fine. The DNS service registers both interfaces DNS servers (the internal one which
is the DC and the external one which comes through DHCP).
Through Test-ServiceHealth in Exchange Management Shell I checked all required services are up and running.
With Setspn -L hostname  I verified all required services are registered correctly on my server.
I also checked Event Viewer and besides some performance counters errors about exchange nothing else in there too.
I haven't registered an MX record because I don't need to receive mail just to send in that  early stage.Am I right in that?
Any ideas are welcome and thanks in advance.

When you see this piling up in drafts, it is not even making it to transport.
OWA sends mail via drafts folder.  So can you please restart the "Microsoft Exchange Mailbox Transport Submission"  service and see what happens.
This is also a very bizarre setup.  DCs do not normally have multiple interfaces, and while Exchange is supported on a DC (apart from DAG) its still not recommended.
You probably want to simplify this as you troubleshoot - can  you remove the internal interface from the test box, and clean up DNS and host files etc.
    Cheers,

  • Emails being delayed

Emails from gmail setup with IMAP are being delayed up to 15mins. I have tried resending service books but they are still delayed.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

OK, in that caseto get Inbox only you are stuck with the 15 minute delay via IMAP unfortunately.
You might try setting up the account on the BB normally and then setup filters on the handheld. Open the Gmail folder on the home screen and hit the menu key and select "Email Filters."

  • 8100 Pearl - emails being delayed for just one account!??!? HELP!!!

Can someone help me with this problem please?
I have a Pearl 8100 which has two HOTMAIL accounts on it, let's call them A and B.
I can send emails for A and B and the person gets them straight away.
However if someone sends me an email, to both A and B HOTMAIL account, only B gets it straight away, A gets it hours later.
I have reset the accounts, sent new services books, everything, I just don't know why this is happening and it's only been happening this last week, before it was instantaneous.
Does  anyone have any idea why this is happening?
I've been testing it all week by sending an email from my work email account to both addresses at the same time but only one gets it straight away. I can send without any problems!
    Any thoughts?
    Thanks!

We use different email accounts but they are synced using mobileme. We are not losing incoming emails on our computers, just on our iphones. Our @me.com mail account is not losing messages either, just our personal email accounts. I am thinking of deleting them from our phones and starting over again.

  • Exchange 2013 mailbox is being excluded from provisioning

I have a Exchange 2013 CU4 server on Windows 2012.  I have 2 mailbox databases setup.  One is for journaling and the other is for regular mailboxes.  I set the IsSuspendedFromProvisioning switch to true on the journal DB about 8 months ago.
Recently, when I go to make a mailbox it says "Load balancing failed to find a valid mailbox database."  Upon Investigating, I discovered that the regular mail DB had its
IsExcludedFromProvisioning switch set to true.  I changed it to false and the mailbox was created fine.  A couple days later, I went to add another mailbox and the same thing happened.  I monitored the mailbox status and determined that
within 30 mins of setting the IsExcludedFromProvisioning switch to true that it switches back to false.  I am unsure of how to correct this.  Any thoughts?

Here is the output from the requested cmdlet.
    [PS] C:\Windows\system32>Get-MailboxDatabase MDB01 | Select name,*provision*
    Name : MDB01
    IsExcludedFromProvisioning : True
    IsExcludedFromInitialProvisioning : False
    IsSuspendedFromProvisioning : False
    IsExcludedFromProvisioningBySpaceMonitoring : True
    MailboxProvisioningAttributes :
Recently the only changes made to the Exchange organization has been moving the journal db to a new HDD.  I didn't have any issues or errors.
I notice that the IsExcludedFromProvisioningBySpaceMonitoring  is set to false.  Is this determining how much room is left on the drive.  I looked at the drive and see that there is still 10.7 GB left of the available 149 GB.  I know
that Exchange tends to work on percentages now so is this below the needed available diskspace to provision to automatically?
    Thank you for the input.

  • Exchange 2013 - Missing Emails sent internally

Can someone please help me diagnose what has happened with the following problem
User1 sends an email at 23:18 from his works laptop at home which is connecting to exchange using Outlook Anywhere
User1 sends an email to 4 users: "User2, User3, User4, UserEx" - UserEX is an external user.
    User3, User4 & UserEX - Received the email
User2 - Did not received the email
User1 - Travels to place of works and logs onto his works PC (not the laptop which is at home)
User1 - Also receives a copy of all messages sent to User2 and notices that he doesn't have a copy of the email he sent to User2 at 23:18.
User1 - Checks his sent items, there is no email there from 23:18
User1 - Confirms that User3, User4 received the email, which they have.
He contacts me (support) asking what is going on. I investigate by looking at his OWA (thinking it could be a syncing issue), the email doesn't show up UNLESS I do an advance search on his OWA Email Box, which tells me there are two emails 1 in his Inbox
and 1 in his drafts. Move away from the advanced search and the email cannot be found.
I complete a Deliver Report for User2 for this missing email; Results below

    Hi there Amy,
User1 sends about 10-20 emails a day to User2 and they have been fine since and beforehand. Its just this instance.
    User1 = Director
    User2 = PA
It was an Email not a Meeting Request.
The email in question was being replied to.
    To: UserEX
    Cc: User2; User3; User4
The Director receives a copy of all emails sent to his PA. In this instance neither one of them received the email. The only people to receive the email was UserEX, User3, User4.
Also the Directors email (User1) wasn't in his sent items on his work PC in the morning. (Remember he sent it from his laptop at home during the late evening the day before).
The trackinglogs & delivery reports, say that the email got delivered to all recipients. Further investigation suggests that this email is there but not visible to them.
Its a strange one I know, but I'm wondering what would cause an email to be there but not invisible?.

  • Exchange 2013 allowing emails from spoofed domains

We upgraded from Exchange 2010 to 2013 about 6 months ago and are very disappointed. We were running Forefront protection for Exchange on the 2010 server, and had little to no spam every. Now with 2013 we are getting a ridiculous amount of spam, including
clearly spoofed phishing emails. The most recent are from
'[email protected]' with an attached zip. We get about 4-5 of those a day, and since we do use salesforce, I can't just block the address/domain.
I have followed the TechNet guide, and enabled all of the antispam features with the Exchange management shell. I have enabled the senderIDConfig, and have it set to delete spoofed domains. The reverse dns check is working, as it shows the
status on the messages that are sent to quarantine. We also have the content filter enabled, and every day I have to go through the spam and add keywords it actually blocks something.
So how is it that spoofed messages are still making it through? I have checked salesforce and they have their SPF records setup, so it should not be hard for Exchange to see the mail did not originate from any of the IPs in the list. We are seriously considering
moving back to our exchange 2010 server....

Here are the headers of the email, which show its not coming from an IP listed in the SPF record for that domain...

  • Incoming emails being blocked all of a sudden.

I have been receiving emails without any issues for many many years now. Until recently I had not been receiving any emails from sassieshop.com with whom I get work from daily and have lost over a weeks pay because of this. (Others from other servers have also said many of their emails coming to me bounce back also) Without these emails coming in I don't work! I have been on the phone with Comcast and was told it was not their problem and that Comcast was not blocking the senders. The guy says he optimized my account and sent test emails. Of course the Comcast emails came through as they always have, especially the bill like clockwork. After being talked down to by a Comcast rep I ended the discussion as he was not helping the situation and was being rather rude. Nothing is going to my spam folder. No other settings checked off to cause this. All other emails come in. So anywaym I went into all the companies that email me daily from sassieshop.com and changed my email address to something beside Comcast. Guess what? I am getting my emails again. So if I do not want to get job offers anymore I stick with Comcasts emails. If I want to work I have to use someone else. Does Comcast not think this is a problem? For what I pay each month I should be able to get all my emails and not have them blocked because Comcast suspects they may be spam or whatever! This needs to be addressed as I am reading it happens all the time!

Already went through all this with Comcast. All my settings are fine according to Comcast. Nothing going into Spam. No settings had been changed. I use Thunderbird, smartphone, and online and never had any problems until a few companies were telling me their emails to me were bouncing back recently and/or the biggest offender was (sassieshop.com) I just was not getting their confirmation emails from companies that I have always received them from for YEARS. These were emails confirming I was contracted by them to do jobs! Not good when I don't perform a job because I didn not receive the email telling me I got it. I clear my browser history on exit. Windows Vista.

  • Exchange 2013 not receiving internal and external emails ..

I have a coexistence of exchange 2007 and exchange 2013 ..2013 mailboxes where able to receive and send mails (internal and external) but suddenly the mail flow has stopped.
    Mail flow status
    2013 to 2007 = OK
    2013 to internet = OK
    2013 to 2013 = OK
    2007 to 2013 = FAIL
    Internet to 2013 = FAIL
incoming internet mails return the NDR below
    Diagnostic information for administrators:
    Generating server: mydomain.com
    [email protected]
    Remote Server returned '< #4.4.7 smtp;400 4.4.7 Message delayed>'
What could be a possible reason for this?
    Cheers guys ..
..forever is just a minute away*

    Hi Richard,
    Thank you for your question.
When there is a coexistence of Exchange 2007 and Exchange 2013, external email will be sent and received by Exchange 2013.
4.4.7 means message expired, message wait time in queue exceeds limit, potentially due to remote server(your Exchange server ) being unavailable.
If your organization has correct MX record in ISP. We could refer to the following link to check if MX record is correct:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa998082(v=exchg.65).aspx
If we could telnet Exchange server by the following command: telnet mail.domain.com 25
If there is a receive connector on Exchange 2013 to receive Internet emails, we could create a receive connector to receive message from the Internet by the following link:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj657447(v=exchg.150).aspx
If there are any questions regarding this issue, please be free to let me know.
    Best Regard,
    Jim

  • Incoming Email on Windows Server 2012

    Windows Server 2012:
SMTP and the associated management tools are deprecated. Though the functionality is still available in Windows Server 2012, you should begin using System.Net.Smtp. With this API, you will not be able to insert a message into a file for pickup; instead configure
Web applications to connect on port 25 to another server using SMTP.
    Question:
If this is the case, is there a TechNet article that has instructions for installing/using incoming email on a SharePoint 2013 web front end?
    What I know:
Why do we install deprecated features http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc263260 (Plan incoming email for a SharePoint farm in SharePoint 2013) to make this work?
    What to do:
I want to use the basic scenario for incoming email, but with the information above about Windows Server it looks rather like idiotic to follow those directions in the TechNet article.
    How to do this:
"... instead configure Web applications to connect on port 25 to another server using SMTP." Huh? Oh stupid me!
    Thoughts???
NOTE: We do use Exchange for incoming email.
    Chris

You will need to continue to use the IIS6 SMTP Virtual Server for SharePoint incoming email. I'm sure by the time the feature is dropped, the SharePoint group will have an alternate solution.

  • Establish mail flow from Exchange 2007 to Exchange 2013

I am currently using Exchange 2007 into three sites in three cities and two of the sites are connected to Internet sending and receiving emails via Edge transport servers.
Now I am planning to upgrade to exchange 2013 CU1. I don't find any documentation on how to establish mail flow between Exchange 2007 and Exchange 2013. Will it be automatic or do i need to create specific connectors between them?

Was this question answered.  We're in the same situation now as we're upgrading to Exchange 2013 from 2007. The latest CU certainly helped.   Initially the test mailboxes on Exchange 2013 couldn't email each other - This was resolved with CU7 and
using "Custom Settings" - manually entered IPs for DNS in the Exchange  Admin Center "DNS Lookups".
Issue at the moment Test mailboxes on Exchange 2013 cannot email mailboxes on 2007 or visa-versa and mail from external sources queues on the 2007 box.
Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

  • Exchange 2013 SP1 and CUCM 9.1.2 - Exch not recognizing called extension

I think I'm almost there in getting Exchange 2013 SP1 UM working with CUCM 9.1.2...I've got two issues at the moment that I need a little help with.
    1) When I dial my VM pilot (6040) from a UM enabled extension it prompts to enter an extension. When I dial the same extension and let it ring to VM, Exchange picks up and says "the person you are trying to reach does not have a valid voice mail box
    on our system".
    2) This just started happening this afternoon, when I dial my VM pilot (6040) exch3 picks up as thats what I have my route pattern pointing to. If I enter the extension of a mailbox on exch2, I get stuck in a endless loop.
I've followed this post as a guide but it hasn't resolved my issue.
    https://supportforums.cisco.com/discussion/11914031/exchange-2013-um-and-cucm-86
My Exchange environment looks like this:
    Site 1:
exch1 - CAS/Mailbox, used for mainly utility type work, journal, dedicated SMTP flows etc
    exch2 - CAS/Mailbox, part DAG13
    exch3 - CAS/Mailbox, part of DAG13
    Site 2:
    exch2dr - CAS/Mailbox, part of DAG13
    exch3dr - CAS/Mailbox, part of DAG13
DAG13 is stretched between two sites, there are no users at our DR site so CUCM is pointing to Site 1 for UM. Each site has an internet facing CAS-only server for OWA/EAS etc.
Any help is greatly appreciated. I'd love to get rid of Unity.
    EDIT:
I just found this event in the event logs:
The Microsoft Exchange Unified Messaging service on the Mailbox server received a diverted call with ID "d51600-3a3140c5-9b8-c1414ac@EXCH3-IPADDR" for extension "4099" on UM dial plan "CUCM" from UM IP gateway "CUCM IP",
but no UM-enabled mailbox for the corresponding extension could be found. Please check the extension and make sure that the corresponding mailbox is enabled for UM and associated with the correct UM dial plan.

9.1.2 I think it is, we upgraded to avoid the known DNS bug
I cant see how to PM you either
The crux of it was outlined below with some tweaks
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/canitpro/archive/2014/04/30/step-by-step-integration-between-exchange-2013-um-and-cisco-unified-communication-manager.aspx
As we have multiple combined role servers, our trunks are set up as follows:
    1. 1 x CAS Trunk - contains all CAS Servers on port 5060
    2. 4 x MBX Trunks - contains Maibox Server with ports 5062-5068
On top of that, we had to Allow "Redirecting Diversion Header Delivery - Inbound (and Outbound)" on the CAS Trunk but DISABLE it on the Mailbox Trunks
Also, make sure that you are using Telephone Extension Dial plans in Exchange 2013 (Despite them being unable to be associated with a 13 Server - EX13 answers for all calls anyway)
Lastly, the MS documentation is a little strange - it says that as your last step of UM migration, you should point your Call Manager to 2013 - I don't agree with that statement, EX13 routes calls back to 2010 UM Servers perfectly fine, so treat it the same
as any other CAS based service - point to 2013, and it will handle the rest
