Exchange rate basing on the duedate or document date

Hi Friends,
While doing postings, system is always taking due date as date for exchange rate conversion instead of baseline date/
Example :
Contract cashflow : 100USD - 01/09/2010 to 30/09/2010 - due date 01/09/2010 (exchange rate : 45.50 on 01/09/10)
                                  100USD - 01/10/2010 to 31/10/2010 - due date 01/10/2010 (exchange rate: 45.00 on 01/10/10)
When i am doing RERAPP on 01/10/10 for september cashflow line item, system is taking exchange rate as 45.50 instead of 45.00. My query is what is the base date for exchange rate determination whether it is due date for a line item in a contract or posting date while doing RERAPP.
If anybody workks on this scenario, provide some idea.
Srini

Hi Srinivas,
let me know how you are taking currency translation rate, there are two possobilites
1. Rormula in condition record
2.Currency translation rule.
If 1. one u have to wirte a badi to pick up condition start data or calcution start date.
if 2. while creation of  Currency transation rule, you have to select procedure as Calculation start data as translation date.

  • How to Get Exchange rates based on the date ?

    Hi Friends,
I have a table called "ZEXCH" with fields MANDT, BUDAT, WAERS, KURSF. This is a maintainable table .... (ie) user can keep on adding the Exchange rates for the currencies for a particular date....
    My table contents are:
    MANDT BUDAT      WAERS   KURSF
    080   30.08.2002 USD        50.00000
    080   30.01.2006 USD        40.00000
    080   09.03.2006 USD        30.00000
Now if i run the report with Budat = 31.12.2002 it should pick up line item 1.
similarly if i run the report with Budat = 31.03.2006 it should pick up line item 2.
similarly if i run the report with Budat = 31.05.2006 it should pick up line item 3.
    How could i do this????
    Expecting your answers
    thanks in advance...
    Cheers

    Hi,
Use the following code snippet, you need to have the 'exchange rate type' as one of the fields in order to distiguish between different rate types, the standard rate type used in most of the cases is 'M',
    select KURSF from zexch
            into zexch-KURSF
            up to 1 rows
            where kurst = 'M'
            and   fcurr = 'USD'
            and   tcurr = 'INR'
and   BUDAT >= Date given in the selection.
            endselect.
    Hope this helps,

  • Exchange rate diff at the time of GR

    Hi All,
l have an issue which is, when l fix the exchange rate in my PO, at the point of goods receipt, differences are generated. that is,
at date 01.02.09, exchange rate on PO is fixed.
at date 11.02.09, goods receipt is done and when the accounting document is checked
it post a difference between the fixed PO rate and what's maintained on the exchange rate table
to the forex account. So l get this:
    Dr Stock account
    Dr Price diff account
    Cr GI/IR account
    Cr Forex account
Note: that IV is not yet carried out here at all. Price control is moving average.
My understanding is that differences arise between the time of GR and IV, if PO is not fixed.
    Regards

    Hi
If you fix the exchange rate indicator in purchase order, and doing GR (different exchange rate has been maintianed in OB08), then you inventory will be valuated at PO exchange rate. Difference will go to gain/loss on exchange rate (foreign currency exchange rate account). Same will be negated by price difference account.
You have one more setting for IV exchange rate in MM - LIV - incoming invoice - how exchange rate difference are treated. Here you maintain the settings for GR and IR exchange rate differences.
Checking the exchange rate fix in PO has nothing to do with GR and IR rate differences as through out the process the rate is constant.
    Thanks

  • OBA1 exchange rate maintenance for the new accounts

    Dear All,
The following three bank G/L accounts 1833280, 1833285 and 1833288 have been created in India Charts of accounts IN01 and extended to company AE10.
The G/L accounts can now be used in AE10.
Now tell me how can I make OBA1 exchange rate maintenance for the new accounts.
Please share your valuable opinions with me.
    Thanks a lot in advance!!

    Hi,
The relevant transaction in OBA1 for the bank accounts is KDF.
Double click on KDF, a new screen will open up, where you do the following:
You enter the bank GL account here.  If the account is to be differently handled at the level of the currency and currency type then you can further limit the exchange rate difference based on these 2 parameters.
Once you have entered the bank GL, save and then double click the bank GL account.  A new screen will open up where you define accounts for the following:
The accounts below will carry the forex gain loss that you when you clear foreign currency transactions.
    1.  Exchange Rate difference realised:
    Loss                 XXXXXX
    Gain                 YYYYY
The accounts below will carry the difference while valuating you open items for
    2.  Valuation:
    Val.loss 1           XXXXXX
    Val.gain 1           YYYYY
    Bal.sheet adj.1      ZZZZZZ
The accounts below will carry transaltion losses.

  • FM exchange rate differences during the invoice posting

    Hello Experts,
We are working in a public project and we are facing the following:
Due to the exchange rate an invoice is bigger in local amount (EUR) than the PO. In other project, we were moving that difference to another P&L account out of budget. However, here in this project, due to the legal requirements all amount of the budget has to consume budget. Could you help me to resolve this isssue please?
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards.
    Ahmed.

    Hi,
Then you need to change the exchange rate based on your LIV posting date.
Check in OB08 with exchange rate type "M" , as when ever the difference in PO and Invoice you need to ask the finance team to change exchange rate  as per date on which you receive the Invoice so the posting is done as per the vendor invoice exchange rate.
Do refer the below KBA which explains you in detail how the exchange rate works during MIRO.
KBA: 1700942 - Exchange rate cannot be changed as changing the posting date during logistics invoice verification

  • Exchange rate diff. influencing the available cost of WBS-element

    Hi all,
here is a intricate problem I need help to solve. I am not so very experienced withon CO/PS, my main competence is within PM. This issue involves PM/MM/PS and CO so I am not sure if this is the correct group to post to, but I give it a try..
In PM (Plant Maintenance) workorders the u201DPlanned Costu201D is calculated.  Exchange rate type for the u201DPlanned costu201D is picked from the CO Cost Version u201D0u201D that uses exchange rate type u201DPu201D. This is a exchange rate type that have one yearly fixed exchange rate. The actual costs are posted with exchange rate type M, which is daily updated.
The Planned cost in the workorder is a part of the u201DAssigned Costu201D that are influencing the available budget on the WBS-element. u201DRemaining/Residual order planu201D.
In cases where the PRQ/PO are created in other currency than the Company code currency we have a problem:
The difference in exchange rate are causing the u201DAvailable budgetu201D to be too low u2013 and the only workaround I have found is to decrease the planned cost in the WO to release the available cost for the Budget. (make the available cost higher )
Does anyone have an idea how to solve this?
    - I have thought of setting the exchange rate type for the planned cost to be the same as for the actual costs u2013 but it is not recommended to change the exchange rate type in CO for cost version u201D0u201D and not a good ide to change the exchange rate type for actual cost eather. This will also not solve the problem of exchange rate difference caused by PRQ/PO beeing created for a whole year for varying exchange rates.
    - Is there a way to exclude the u201D Remaining/Residual order planu201D from the u201DAssigned Costu201D? And what consequences will this have? Only cost from PRQ/PO will appear? (Since internal material (reservations) and internal hours not triggers a PRQ/PO)? I see there is a transaction CJE5 where you can exclude the u201D Remaining/Residual order planu201D from the u201DAssigned costu201D u2013 but I think this will only exclude it from beeing shown in the report S_ALR_87013558?- not from the calculation of available cost at the WBS-element?  which is what I need. (see Note 668240)
-Is there any u201DExchange rate differenceu201D setting in the customizing u2013 how exchange rate difference are treated for PM orders? And will this help my problem?
    Best regards
    Ellen

  • Exchange rate coefficient on the basis of latest posting date in invoice.

    Hi,
I have one query on posting date(picking of exchange rate coefficient from TCURR table) in invoice verification.  Please help.
    Conditions are--
vender and company code are not in same currencies(ex-USD and INR). exchange currencies are maintained perfectly on every month 1st ie co-efficients in TCURR table ie OB08
    Query---
1.At the time of parking invoice suppose i enter the date 20th august and i have posted that invoice as parking. It is converting the local currency as per 8th month exchange rate.
2.And at the time of final posting the invoice supose i posted that date as 10th September. Business wanted that converting the local currency as per 9th month exchange rate But now local currency is converting on the basis of initial entry of posting date ie 8th month only.
Please advise and guide what configeration that i have to set for picking the exchange rate coefficient on the basis of latest posting date in invoice verification.
    Thanks & Regards,
    MadhuBabu.

    Hi
I dont think it is possible as once you enter posting date while in parking invoice screen, on that date exchange rate will be calculated and it wil not be different at time of posting invoice. Instead of parking, you have to directly post with current posting period.
    Thanks

  • Material Statuses based on the Purchase order Document type

    Hi Experts,
We need to maintain the Plant material status based on the purchase order document type.
Example - If I am using NB for normal purchase orders and ZB for STO procurement then, there should be a material status which should give warning message - 'do not use ' for ZB STO purchase orders and it should allow to create NB purchase orders for that same materials.
Please advise what are the possibilities?
    Thanks
    Regards
    MM

    Hi Gurus,
Thank you for  your reply, Please find my replies below
@@ - Mallinath - We need this restrictions for some type of materials ( with specific Material types) which should not be procured through inter company STO process, buying plant should use the normal purchase. for other Material types they should be able to use the inter company STO process.
@@ DEV - We are already using the Spl. Procurement keys for inter company STO process.
Example - Material type ZXYX should not use the inter company STO process, but it should be allowed all other processes.
Please advise how we can control this process?

  • To set the "Pricing Exchange rate type" in the billing document

    Hello SAP Experts,
I have a customer requirement to determine the "pricing exchange rate" as "C Exchange rate determination according
to Billing date" in Billing documents ONLY for specific Sales Org and customer Country and NOT for ALL sales orgs.. This field is present in the Item level copy control setting.
This will ensure Exchange rate will be based on "Billing date" and NOT from date copied from Sales order for that specific Sales org.
Can I write this validation in the Billing document User-exit -RV60AFZC to achieve this functionality? Or there would be some Configuation required?
If anyone has worked upon this kind of requirement or know the method to achieve this, can you please help me?
    Thanks in advance.
    Umesh Karane.

In that case, you can try with  USEREXIT_FILL_VBRK_VBRP.  Alternatively, you can also add this logic to your existing routine assigned in Delivery to Billing copy control against the field "Data VBRK/VBRP".  Similarly, for all such copy controls as you mentioned.

  • Exchange rates at line items in billing document - VF04

    Hello,
We are trying to create a collective billing document, via transaction VF04, for deliveries created from two sales orders with different exchange rates (VKBD-KURRF).
When we try to execute this operation, two billing documents are created and in split analysis. This behavior is due to different exchange rates (from sales orders).
Since the sold-to-party is the same, he wants a unique billing document for all deliveries.
So we pretend to post one billing document with different exchange rates at item level, instead of at header level.
    Is this possible?
    Regards,
    José Melo

    Dear José Melo
You can combine multiple deliveries in one billing document provided the following are same in all preceding documents
    -  Payer
    -  Actual GI Date from Delivery
    -  Payment Terms
    -  Inco Terms
    -  Account Assignment Group of customer
    -  Exchange Rate
In your case, since invoice is splitting due to exchange rate, you can achieve to have one invoice.  In VF04, you can see a tab Default Data  where there is a field Service Rendered Date.   Maintain a date and generate so that you will get one invoice.
    thanks

  • Exchange rate to be the copied from order to  billing

    Hi Friends
    I have a scenario
I am doing an export sale...and have taken the exchange rate type as G which is coming from the customer master with value as ( 1EUR = 54 INR).
When I do the billing the g is picked up for the pricing data but for the accounting data in the billing header it is picking up  INR 55 which is maintained at exchange rate type M
and hence the accounting entries are converted as per INR 55
Is there anyway we can get the exchange rate type G to be considered for the accounting entries as well through customising or do I have to use a user exit
I have checked in the copy control which only controls the pricing data and not the accounting data
    regards
    Anurag

    Hi,
You can maintain the desired exchange rate in the sales order header -
    1. Maintain the sales document currency in the sales document header->Sales->Doc Currency
    2. Maintain the exchange rate in the sales document header ->Accounting-Exch.Rate.acct, click the radio button in the the exchange rate field and maintain rates.
This exchange rate will be defaulted in billing / accounting document.

  • Exchange Rate is picking the Maximum value, instead of valid from

Every first day of month we enter exchange rates for foreign currencies.
but when we make  Purchase Order or any other payments in foreign currency, system is picking the maximum value, but not the value from Validity date.

    Hello,
    Thanks for your immediate response.
But my Question is for e.g.
on 01.01.2010  entered Exchange rate is 1 euro = 5.6954 SAR
on 01.02.2010  entered Exchange rate is 1 euro = 4.9653 SAR
if am posting document on 16.02.2010 it should pick the second value i.e., 1 euro = 4.9653 SAR, but system is picking the maximum value.

    venu gopal

    Hi,
If you have not checked the indicator 'Exch Rate Fixed' indicator in PO header tab 'Delivery/Invoice', then you can change the exchage rate at MIRO.
For this, follow the steps below in their exact sequence.
    1. go to MIRO
    2. Enter the 'invoice date' in Basic data tab
    3. Go to 'Details' tab in invoice header. Enter the desired exchage rate here.
Now proceed further and allocate  the invoice to the desired PO or del note etc...
You will not be able to change the exchange rate once the invoice has been allocated.

    Sudhir Poddar
    SAP FI Consultant

    Hi Sudhir,
SAP will pick Exchange rate type M for translations by default and you cannot change it.  So you have to change the exchange rate type for your invoice or maintain same rates for that day alone.
This is what is given in SAP documentation:
"For posting and clearing, the system uses the exchange rate type M (average rate). This exchange rate type must be entered in the system and you must also enter the exchange rates for this type."
For more info on exchange rate types read this:
