Exchange Server meetings in Russian time zones as well as names of time zones are incorrect after October 26, 2014

After October 26, 2014, Exchange Server users who are in Russian time zones may see meeting times incorrect Time Zone-display names may be outdated in OWA.
RU8 should release in middle of November of this year.
The RU8 update only updates the “Time Zone Name” http://support2.microsoft.com/kb/3004235
Time zone display names in OWA will be outdated after October 26, 2014. Meeting times will be updated if you install the 2014 time zone update for Russia (KB 2998527)
for the Windows Server. Exchange Server 2010 and Exchange Server 2013 rely on Windows for time zone information.
The actual times will be correct in OWA as long as the Windows OS update is applied: http://support2.microsoft.com/kb/2998527
Note:
There are multiple components involved this issue.Windows PC O/S update, Windows Server O/S update and Exchange server application update. We need to ensure all the below things are up-to date in-order for this functionality to work properly.
Windows PC - It should have the latest patch updated. There is no patch that needs to be rolled out for windows PC for this functionality to work.Just ensure that end users are in the latest available patch.
Windows Server- Ensure that the Windows server is latest update (http://support2.microsoft.com/kb/2998527)
Exchange Server patching-  There is also an Outlook Web Access (OWA) related component to this involving the availability of the latest Russian time zone changes into the OWA display.   Meetings will display correctly in the calendar,
it is more of a feature issue around time zone display names.  Exchange Server SP3 RU8 will address this, and it will be released in middle November.

  • WCS time settings are incorrect on application

We have an issue with the time setting in the GUI of the WCS. The box is set with the right time but in the web interface, the time is 5h in advance.
I noticed this while creating a guest user acct, while editing time settings. The controller is not 5hours advance and has the correct time.
Is there a way for me to find out how WCS is configured with a time zome? WCS is installed on a Windows 2008 Server.
    Thanks,
    John

    John....
         This is per Cisco:
Set Up NTP on the  WCS
The WCS relies on Windows or Linux for the correct time. The WCS checks       the Windows Operating System or the Linux Operating System once every 24 hours       for the system time. Therefore, it does not immediately know about system time       changes unless you stop and restart the WCS server. Right-click on the clock       and select Adjust Date/Time. Use an NTP time source to set the       clock and manually set the offset for your time zone. This is typically already       set.

  • Missing the "Microsoft Exchange Server Auth Certificate"

    Hi Everyone,
I have a single Exchange box.
Was integrating my Lync and Exchange and noticed some issues after configuring my Lync pre-reqs: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj721919.aspx
Following the line of communication and event logs, I quickly saw that the error was not on my Lync Server, but on my Exchange.  The "Microsoft Exchange Server Auth Certificate" that is created during Ex2013 install was missing.
It was not there to give out tokens for the Server to Server authentication required to integrate Lync, Exchange, and Sharepoint.
    Running Get-AuthConfig: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj215766(v=exchg.150).aspx
pointed to a thumbprint that did not exist anymore.
I confirmed this by checking the local cert store (local computer>personal>certificates), looking in the ECP (servers>certificates), and also running Get-ExchangeCertificate
In my Exchange Server event log, I found the following errors:

Googling has only produced one article that is about another issue that I would have found further down the line if I wasn't testing within the pre-reqs.  The solution is the same, but the article is somewhat poorly written and does not respond to all
the comments enough to leave one feeling it's 100% correct.
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/jenstr/archive/2012/11/22/getting-internal-server-error-500-when-creating...
    The broad strokes are clear:
The fix is to create a new "Microsoft Exchange Server Auth Certificate" by using the following sequence of cmdlets In EMS on the MBX server:
    1. New-ExchangeCertificate -KeySize 2048 -PrivateKeyExportable $true -SubjectName "cn= Microsoft Exchange Server Auth Certificate" -FriendlyName "Microsoft Exchange Server Auth Certificate" -Services smtp
Do not accept to replace the SMTP certificate when prompted
    2. Note the thumbprint of the new certificate. Let us assume it is 7A39541F8DF58D4821967DD8F899B27410F7C081
    3. $a=get-date
    4. Set-AuthConfig -NewCertificateThumbprint 7A39541F8DF58D4821967DD8F899B27410F7C081 –NewCertificateEffectiveDate $a
Accept to continue despite the fact that the certificate effective date is not 48 hours into the future
    5. Set-AuthConfig –PublishCertificate
    6. Make sure to remove any potential reference to the previous certificate (which might not exist anymore) by doing Set-AuthConfig -ClearPreviousCertificate.
Remember to do iisreset on both CAS and MBX servers. Then finally, you can try to re-issue the New-CsPartnerApplication cmdlet.
    65 Million Dollar question:
Is the syntax in part 1 correct?  Two people says to add the domain?  Jens responds, but it's vague.  What would the correct command look like?  I do not know where to add the -DomainName within the command and which name I
should add?  The FQDN of the CAS?
New-ExchangeCertificate -KeySize 2048 -PrivateKeyExportable $true -SubjectName "cn= Microsoft Exchange Server Auth Certificate" -FriendlyName "Microsoft Exchange Server Auth Certificate" -DomainName server.domain.com -Services
    smtp
    Thank you everyone

    Hi,
Yes, we need to specify a valid FQDN for either the Subject or the DomainName parameter. Please run the following command:
New-ExchangeCertificate -KeySize 2048 -PrivateKeyExportable $true -SubjectName "cn= Microsoft Exchange Server Auth Certificate" -FriendlyName "Microsoft Exchange Server Auth Certificate" -DomainName server.domain.com -Services
    smtp
Then following the other steps in your posting to re-create the Microsoft Exchange Server Auth Certificate.

  • Setting up your iPhone to sync with 1and1 Exchange Server.

_+*You *must have* iPhone firmware version 2.0 and higher to sync to Exchange Services+.*
iPhone and 1and1 exchange work amazingly well. Most folks out there are still using the IMAP side of the 1and1 Exchange service. *"THIS IS NOT FULLY FUNCTIONING EXCHAHGE"*! Here is how to really set up your phone to sync Mail, Calendars, and Contacts with 1and1 Exchange accounts.
    From your home screen:
1: Go to the settings control panel on your iphone.
2: Touch the "*Mail, Contacts, Calendars*" tab.
3: Touch the "*Add Account...*" tab.
4: Touch the "*Microsoft Exchange*" tab.
A screen asking you to "*Enter your Exchange account information*" will appear.
5: type your email address attached to your 1and1.com exchange account.
    ex. "[email protected]"
6: type your domainusername. Your 1and1 username is one that is assigned to you by 1and1.
the username must be typed out in this manner: exchangee123456789
*If you already know your 1and1 Exchange Username then skip to step 7.*
Your 1and1 username starts with an "e" and its followed by nine numbers (ex.: e123456789). If you do not know this username you have to go to your Administrator panel at the 1and1 site,(Here is the URL to the admin page. *http://admin.1and1.com*).At the prompt enter your customer number *which is located on your monthly 1and1 invoice* followed by your password. if you have never seen this control panel you will have to sign in and get a password to access this area. Once in the Admin area under the packages tab click the url labled "*1&1 Microsoft Exchange*". You will now be in the *Administration Tab*. Now under the *communications tool* section click the URL labeled *"Microsoft® Exchange Account Overview"*. You will now see a list of the exchange usernames in that exchange package. Find your username and either print out the page or write the number down.
7: type your 1and1 exchange account password.
8: type a description that best corresponds with your 1and1 exchange account. As a suggestion you should type a description that makes your account stand out. "*ex. 1and1 exchange account*" (this will be helpful later in distinguishing what calendars come from which account if you are syncing multiple calendars.)
9: touch the "Next" button at the top right of the screen.
iPhone will connect with the 1and1 exchange server and authenticate your account. If the authentication fails check one of your entries then try again.
10: once iPhone authenticates your account a field called "Server" will appear between the "Email" and "Username" fields. Enter "exchange.1and1.com" into this field.
11: touch the "Next" button at the top right of the screen.
12: Select which part of the Exchange Services you would like sync with your iPhone.
ie. *Mail, Contacts, or Calendars*. (Simply slide the on or off switch next to the service you either wish to sync or exclude.)
13: once you have chosen your services touch the "Save" button at the top right of the screen.
iPhone will once again contact the 1and1 Exchange server. You will be returned to the mail settings screen.
    You are now done
If you don't have any contacts on your iPhone just go look at your address book now. If you chose to sync your address book all of your contacts have populated themselves into your iPhone contacts tab.
    AWESOME
Welcome to Exchange on the iPhone!
Some thing to try to verify your Exchange account.
1: Create a Calendar or Address book entree in your iPhone. Now watch it appear on your Outlook account.
2: Tell a friend with Outlook to invite you to a calendar event. You will receive an invitation right there on your iPhone screen.
Have fun and enjoy your new iPhone.

Unless Apple decides to license ActiveSync from MS, this will not happen.
Apple hasn't done so since OS X was first released for whatever the reason or reasons and although always/never should not be used, I'm not sure how likely this is.
I venture to say that Apple is well aware that the iPhone is limited to business use as is - at least for those with an Exchange account - with a company or IT department not willing to enable IMAP account access for email accounts. Initially, the iPhone was not designed nor intended for the enterprise/business market as is a Blackberry, Palm or Windows Mobile device. It is obvious from the commercials that the focus - at the present time anyway, is as a consumer device. The iPhone/iPod Touch SDK scheduled to be released on March 6 may change this but what will come out of the SDK and when is unknown at this point.
If you need to access your Exchange account with the iPhone and your company and IT department refuses to enable IMAP account access, there are no workarounds for this. There are ways to make accessing an IMAP account secure by requiring SSL for the incoming and outgoing mail servers and the iPhone also supports VPN - virtual private network access which is secure.
Other than that and you don't want to keep the iPhone for personal use, it is probably best to return it and wait until after the SDK is released to see what may turn up.

  • Recieve Connectors Exchange Server 2013 CU5

    Hello,
I am running Exchange Server 2013 CU5, and the receive connector keeps timing out. The problem only exists after the server has been running for somewhere between 2 to 3 hours. After reboot all will work for the 2 to 3 hours and then we stop getting emails.
If I run the Microsoft Connectivity test it returns error code 1, time out error, reboot the server and all is fine again for a while. I have tried deleting the receive connector & re-creating it as both a Hub connector and a frontend connector and it
makes no difference. The fault originally occurred why I was running Exchange server 2013 Std, I they upgraded to SP1 then to CU5 in an effort to resolve the issue, but this did not work. Any suggestions would be welcome as I have no idea on what to try next.
    Thanks

The following error is what I get when I do an "Inbound SMTP Email" test. For the first hour after a reboot it will pass the test with no errors then sometime after the first hour I get the following message. Out going Emails work fine all the time just

  • NLB detected duplicate cluster subnets - Exchange Server 2010 SP3 CU5

    Hi All,
I will explain the environment first,  there are:
    -Two HUB/CAS servers (WNLB)
        --HUBCAS01
        --HUBCAS02
    -Two Mailbox servers (Failover Clustering)
        --MAILBOX01
        --MAILBOX02
*All servers are updated to Exchange Server 2010 SP3 CU5.
The issue is that from recently outlook users are disconnecting from the outlook and cannot be joined to the exchange server unless if I drainstop or stop HUBCAS01. Furthermore, if I start HUBCAS01 from WNLB it will work fine for sometimes yet it will randomly
disconnects outlook users from exchange again (For ex: next day morning).
So far when I search deeper in Event log, there is an warning event log:
Event ID 18: NLB cluster [192.168.*.*]: NLB detected duplicate cluster subnets. This may be due to network partitioning, which prevents NLB heartbeats of one or more hosts from reaching the other cluster hosts. Although NLB operations have resumed properly,
please investigate the cause of the network partitioning.
Now I hope you will provide this link to resolve this issue - http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc726421(v=ws.10).aspx
But I don't think that this will resolve this issue, as i have tried this for 3 times, yet no luck. Please help me to resolve this issue permanently. Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
The issue is mainly related to the HUBCAS01 server. To deep investigate the issue, you need to take RPCTrace from the Outlook client and see the details. Even more, it’s better
to take a Network trace to check the details of the network.
    Thanks,

  • Safari disappears from iPad with addition of Exchange Server email setup

After updating the iPad with the new operating system, I noticed Safari disappeared and found no solution. Apple personnel had me restore the iPad system (which wiped out all the settings and caused me to lose numerous documents). But after the restore, I had Safari...until I again set up my email through Exchange Server. I can set up Gmail and my email through MobileMe and there is no problem. But setting up my email from Exchange Server causes Safari to disappear every time. Likewise, if I delete the email from Exchange Server, Safari is suddenly available and working well.
    Any solutions.

I'm having the same problem. Updated to 4.2 everything is great except Safari is gone.
When I go into the General Settings, restrictions are disabled but Safari (and only safari) is turned to off.
So I added a passcode and enable restrictions, but I can't turn on safari.
If I delete the exchange account. Safari comes back. If I add it again it disappears.
I can't seem to find anything that can be tweaked on the server side of exchange or the client side of the ipad, Anyone have any ideas?
Mick you wouldn't know what the exchange setting was that needed to be changed?

  • Outlook 2010 doesn't automatically re-connect after Exchange Server reboot - help

We have recently upgraded from Exch 2003 to Exch 2010.  We also upgraded our users Outlook client from 2003 to 2010.  Now when an Exch 2010 server is rebooted Outlook does not re-connect automatically.  You have to close Outlook and re-open
it and it starts working again.  Others have reported the same issue.  Outlooks shows the status in the status bar area as password is required.  I have read an article in the forums about it being an authentication problem.  What
changes can I make in Outlook or to Exchange 2010 to make Outlook automatically reconnect after an Exchange server reboot.  thanks

They connect internally in the LAN with their domain credentials.
I haven't noticed any errors in the Exchange server related to this issue but I have not really looked in the logs right after this happens.
I guess I just don't understand how when we were running Exch2003 with Outlook2003 we did not have this problem.  Now that we have spent all this money and upgraded to bigger, better, smarter software we are having a problem like this.  It seems like
if Outlook senses the lost connection and transfers to Offline that it would keep periodically to see if the email server is back up and reconnect.
    Sorry for the delay response.
I would suggestyou create a new Windows profile and test it again. Some times the windows profile curropted and woithout being able to provide credentials.
    Hope it is helpful.

  • Exchange Server and the E71 - frustrated trying to...

If there is anyone in the Calgary area that can help me get my E71 connected to our Microsoft Exchange Server your help would be greatly appreciated. At this point I wish I had purchased a Crackberry! This setup is simply NOT user friendly or intuitive. After a week of trying to get connected, deleting software, downloading software upgrades, running endless setup routines, I have reached the end! Friends who own Blackberrys connected within minutes! HELP!!
    Brent Cisco

After spending endless hours achieving nothing but frustration I have given up on trying to access my email on our Microsoft Exchange Server using Mail for Exchange I have deleted the application from my Nokia E71 phone and given up completely trying to make this work. I have used the wizard spending endless totally unproductive hours entering in the settings required over and over again, I've installed the security certificate, I've had my tech guy make the correct settings on our server, I've deleted and reinstalled Mail for Exchange and deleted and reentered my profile information: email address, domain name, user name, password, exchange server... some times in the same session I've entered this information countless times. I have asked it to permenently accept the certificate more times than I can count. I would also like to add that my tech guy said he couldn't figure it out and he's a Microsoft Certified Professional. I would love to find another E71 owner in Calgary who has had success connecting to his company's Exchange Server and get his or her help. Everyone I know who has a Blackberry or an iPhone said they connected in minutes. I'm taking this phone back to Rogers, I'll pay out the contract and switch the the phone everyone said I should have purchased in the first place... the iPhone. I'm more than disappointed!

  • CSS Load balancing for Exchange Server

    Hi,
I have CSS configured in single arm and I have multiple servers configured for load balancing and it is working fine but when I am configuring Exchange server for load balancing I am facing problem and applications and printer/scanners are not able to send the email through the Virtual IP address configured for exchaneg server.
But if we configured the real server IP in the printer/scanners they are able to send the email. While checking the logs on the exchange server, it is showing that request for the email so coming from the Exchange VIP configured in the CSS.
I can telnet on port 25 on the VIP address (192.168.200.237). But unable to send the email through this VIP.

So you should run .\setup.exe instead of just setup.exe.
    Hope this help.

  • I am unable to open some emails from an exchange server.

Since I updated to iOS7 I have been unable to download most emails from a work exchange server. In most cases it appears to be downloading the message yet nothig appears after a lenghty wait.

A reset of the device is a good first step:
Hold the home button + the lock button for about 10-12 seconds until the Apple logo appears.  You will not lose any data or current settings.
If you have already done this and it didn't resolve the issue, try remove the email accound and then re-add it.

  • Applying retention Policy tags to inbox in Exchange Server 2010

I configured a Journal inbox in Exchange server 2010. I would like to configure a retention policy of 30 days so after a month all emails will be deleted from the Inbox of the Journal account. I configured the retention policy but messages
    would never get deleted.

    Hi,
Based on the description, you created a retention policy tag, the type was Inbox, added this tag to a retention policy and then applied this policy to the journal mailbox. However, this retention policy didn't work.
For this issue, first, I recommend you check if this tag is disabled. Besides, please check the application log to see if the Managed Folder Assistant has processed this journal mailbox. You can force the Managed Folder Assistant to apply the policy manually
    by running the Start-ManagedFolderAssistant command.
If you have checked the above, I suggest you change the Action that retention policy tag performs to check the result.
    Best regards,
