Excise configuration in case of Third party sales

In case of third party sales of a excisable material, where the goods are supplied directly to customer by the vendor.
However the customer invoice is sent to the customer my organization
How will the excise entries take place?
Because in this case goods are not supplied from my depot, Also i need to charge the customer for excise, since the goods are excisable.
Can I claim the excise benefit for the above sale process?
Please revert
Regards
Sudhir Chavan

As the goods are not delivered from your factory premise and are delivered for vendor.
Means in system there is no outward goods movement from your plant.
So, logically you should not create Excise invoice for this.
But, you may need to consider VAT/CST based on the sales.
And that doesn't require any excise invoice.
Thus, no requirement of Excise configuration in case of Third party sales.
Yes, from procurement point of view, you would be paying excise to the vendor for this purchase.

  • How to raise customer invoice in case of third party sale from PS

    Dear All,
In case of third party sale from project systems module, PR is raised which is further converted to PO and once the material reaches at client place GRN is done.Based upon the GRN the actual cost is booked to the project. How should I raise the customer invoice against the materials received by the customer?
I went through the Forum and based upon the threads there, I came to know that one option is to  create sales order for the same items and do order based billings. But for this I have to enter the same materials items again in the Sales order which is nothing but duplicacy of data.
Is there any alternative to this? Or some other way by which the PO line items be copied to sales order so that I can save time while creating sales order.
    Regards,
    B P Singh

    Hi Virendra,
                       Business scenario is like this.
I have created project and activities.Have assigned materials as 3rd party sale in NWA. I have released the project.PR are getting followed by PO.On doing the GR the actual costs are getting booked on NWA.
My concern is how to bill the Items(the same material components) which are assigned to activity.
As per your input I need to do Resource Related billing. Thanks for the input. It is no longer required to assign materials in DIP to Carry out RRB.
To carry out RRB do I need to create Sales Order first ? If  No then how to do RRB? If Yes  I need to create a Sales Order with all the material components which I have assigned at activity level. So I was looking for some alternative so that SO creation becomes less tedious.

  • Third party sale scenario: COGS not allowed as automatically posted.

    Dear Gurus,
I have come across this error during execution of third party sale scenario.
When the user enters a PO with reference to PR which is in reference to SO, one error pops up which says COGS cannot be automatically posted only.
When I deselect the "Post automatically" tick, the PO can be saved.
Process we are following during third party sale process:-
    1. Sales order.
    2. PR with reference to Sales order.
    3. Purchase order with reference to PR.
    4. Statistical GR with reference to PO.: COGS Dr. To GR/IR Clearing account Cr.
    5. Sales Invoice: Customer Dr. To Sales Cr.
    6. MIRO: GR/IR Clearing account Dr. To Vendor Cr.
I have my own doubts on the statistical GR part. Can you pls. validate the same.
Also in case of third party sale, what will be the CO object as COGS is not created a cost element. (SAP standard)

  • Generate PO from third party sale order

    Hi expert,
When we save a Third Party sale order, it will generate a purchase requisition to buy items for us. I wonder if there are any methods to generate Purchase Order directly (Not via PR) from sales order ?
    Thanks so much.
Edited by: Truong Tran on Feb 26, 2009 12:30 PM

    Hi,
As you know - only PR will be automatically getting genreated in case of third party sale order or individual purchase order.
This is because of the schedule line category - CB and CS.
When the item category is TAB/TAS - it will determine the schdule line categor CB/CS which leads to generate PR automatically.
There is an item category 'ALES' (Create PO Automatic - check box in VOV7 - will be checked) - which will create both PR and PO.
I have not used that item category yet.. I think - though we use ALES item category - it won't create automatic PO.
Except ALES item category.. - I do not have idea on ALES item category..
(i.e., PO will never be automatically created without using the transaction.)
    Thanks,
    Venkatesh.S.P

  • Route determination third party sales order

We are using third party sales order.  The process flow is as follows.
Sales order -> Purchase requisition-> Purchase order-> Vendor ships material directly to customer.
Route is currently determinined based on the following:
    1. Departure zone (from shipping point)
    2. Shipping condition ( from ship to customer master)
    3. Transportation Group (rom material master)
    4. Destination zone (Transportation zone of the Customer in the order)
Shipping point is in US, but the vendor who ships material to customer is in China. So, we want the Departure zone for the purpose of Route tdeterimination to be based on address in vendor master, and not shipping point.
Is there anyway, we can do this?
    Thanks,
    Srini

    Dear Srini,
    Welcome to SCN forum....
    I find route determination for third party sales not logical. Just think  in Third-Party Orders, theres is no Material-Movement  and no Deliveries from our Plant;
In this case Route Determination will not be applicable. Customer has placed order to you and you have placed an order to your vendor, who directly deliver the goods to your customer. And you dont have to decide which route customer's transporter will take?
So as per me you need not determine routes in case of third party sales order.
    Thanks,
    Raja

  • Regarding third party sales

    Hi friends
Regarding third party sales order as per my knowledge
Me21n is for creating purchase order
Migo is for goods receipt from vendor
Miro is for incoming invoice from vendor
    My question is
    wht r for these t-codes
    Me57
    me51n
    Plz reply me
    thanks in advance

    Dear Venkata,
    ME57 - Assign & Process Purchase Requisation
    ME51N - Create Purchase Requisitions.
By adopting Purchase Requisations you can create Purchase Orders...
But in case of THird Party Sales, Purchase Requisition would be automatically created as soon you save Sales Order. Subsequently you can create Purchase order based on Purchase requisition...
    Hope this helps...
    Reward if useful...

  • Tax & Excise in Third Party Sales

    Hi Friends,
As per Std.SAP in third party Sales Scenario a PR will be automatically created when we save the SO & out of that we create a PO.
Now kindly provide clarifications for the below query's
    1. When we create a PO with respect to this PR (Is taxes & excise applicable) ?
    2. How we have to maintain this Third Party Material in J1ID inorder to determine the excise rates for Calculation?
    3. As per this Scenario our Vendor will deliver the goods to our customer & we will do a Statistical GR which will post to the consumption & GR/IR clearing accounts. Now what will the impact in Excise side as our material in the PO is subjected to excise?
    4. Do we take the Cenvat credit as in case of Raw materials??
Since I am not clear in the excise & taxes part of this Scenario. Please help me..
    Regards,

Excise Duty: Excise Duty is applicable only in an manufacturing scenario in India. I will illustrate with sone examples, as under:
    Example 1:
Sales from Plant 'A', material 'B' (manufactured product) to Customer 'XYZ'.
Customer XYZ orders material 'B', which is supplied from plant 'A', say quantity 1. Sale Base Value is Rs. 100/-, Basic Excise Duty 10%, Education Cess 2%, Higher Education Cess 1%, Vat 12.5%
(Excise Duty will be applicable and reflect as a separate component in above scenario)
    Example 2:
Stock Transfer from Plant 'A', material 'B' (manufactured product) to Plant 'D'.
Plant 'D' has a requirement for material 'B', which is supplied from plant 'A', say quantity 1. Assessable Value is Rs. 80/-, Basic Excise Duty 10%, Education Cess 2%, Higher Education Cess 1%
(Excise Duty will be applicable and reflect as a separate component, but Vat will not be applicable in above scenario)
    Example 3:
Sales from Plant 'A', material 'B' (Trading product) to Customer 'XYZ'.
Customer XYZ orders material 'B', which is supplied from plant 'A', say quantity 1. Sale Base Value is Rs. 120/-, Vat 12.5%
(Excise Duty will not be applicable in above scenario)

  • Third party sales configuration

    Dear
I needed your guidance for third party sales when vendor supply the material to the customer we keep item category group BANS and stock entered virtually in our stock and then vendor invoice generated and received by the company through MIGO and MIRO.
My question is that when vendor supply to the company and company supply to the client or other wise I can say our item category is HAWA in that case what will be process can you elaborate the process and configuration of the scenario.
    Thanks
    Riti

    Hi Riti,
    Just adding to Kapil's input,
    hope below input will helpyou
An Example Of Third Party Sales
    Scenario:
2 companies are created in system - India & Singapore Customer places sales order for particular material on Singapore.  Singapore is not able to produce the same. They pass on the order to India for processing.  After processing India ships the material directly to the customer along with necessary documentation.  Invoice copy is passed on to Singapore.  Final Commercial Invoice will be raised by Singapore.  How can the above scenario handled?
    By: Balaji
You can do this using third party sales.
The third party sales process is as under.
    1) Singapore company creates an order for the singapore customer.
    2) Because of the configuration settings of the sales document type, item category & schedule line category, as soon as the order is saved a PR (purchase requisition) is automatically generated. This is converted into PO (purchase order) and sent to the Indian company.
    3) Indian company supplies the material directly to the Singapore customer.
    4) Indian company sends the invoice to the Singapore Company.
    5) Singapore company does the invoice verification in MM using tcode MIRO.
    6) Singapore company raises the invoice to the singapore customer.
In standard SAP, item category TAS is used for this. The schedule line category is CS. Here you can see a field 'order type' with value 'NB'. This triggers the automatic creation of the PR.
Plus in the material master also you need to do certain settings.
    1) If you are always following a third party process for a material then you have to create the material using item category group BANS. The procurement type should be marked as external procurement (F) in MRP 2 view of the material master record.
    2) If you are not always allowing third party order processing then you can create a material master record with item category group as NORM and the procurement type should be marked as (X) meaning both types of procurement (in house manufacturing and external procurement).
In the item category the billing relevance should be 'F'.
Third party order processing is as follows:
    Assume three companies X, Y and Z
    X - The company,
    y - The customer
    Z - Vendor
When ever X gets a PO from Y to supply some goods, X has an option of either manufacturing those goods or procuring those goods.
If he is procuring the goods, there are two methods that are generally followed:
    Method 1)
After receiving the PO from Y, X creates a sales order against Y.
Now at the same time he also creates a PO to a vendor Z to produce the goods
Z produces the goods and supplies to X
X receives the goods from Z
Then X delivers the same goods to Y.
    After that X invoices Y and Z invoices X.
Note : Here there is no direct/ Indirect relation between Z and Y.
This process is known as Trading Process. and the Material here is created with Material type HAWA.
The other method is a Third party order processing method:
Here the glaring difference is that instead of Z supplying the material to X and X in turn supplying the same material to Y.
X authorizes Z to supply the material to Y on his behalf and notify him once the delivery is complete.
Now Z supplies the material to Y and acknowledges the same to X.
Z will send a copy of delivery acknowledgement and invoice to X.
After receiving the delivery confirmation and invoice from Z, X has to verify the invoice and this process is known as invoice verification and is done in SAP through Tcode MIRO.
The next step for X is to create an invoice and submit to Y
Only after the invoice verification document is posted then only X can create an invoice for Y.
This is the business flow that is followed for third party order configuration.
There are few steps that have to be configured to enable the system to function as mentioned above.
    Step1)
If you are always followwing a third party process for a material then you have to create the material using item category group BANS.
The procument type should be marked as External procurement (F) in MRP 2 view of the material master record.
if you are not always allowing third party order processing then u can create a material master record with item category group as NORM and the procurement type should be marked as ( X) meaning both types of procurment ( in house manufacturing and external procurement).
    step 2)
the item category in the order should be manually changed as TAS.
For that you need to confugure the item category determination
ord type + item cat grp + usge + Hiv level = Item cat + Manual item cat
    OR + NORM + + = TAN . + TAS
    OR + BANS + + = TAS
    Step 3)
make sure that during the item category configuration for TAS you need to mark relevnat for billing indicator as F
    step 4)
The schedule line cateogry for this type should be CS.
make sure that you mark subsequent type as NB - purchase requisition in this schedule line category as this will trigger the purchase requision order immediately after the creation of the sales order and the PO to vendor is created against this purchase requiesion.

in third-party order processing, your company does not deliver the items requested by a customer. Instead, you pass the order along to a third-party vendor who then ships the goods directly to the customer and bills you. A sales order may consist partly or wholly of third-party items. Occasionally, you may need to let a vendor deliver items you would normally deliver yourself.
    Process Flow
the processing of third-party orders is controlled via material types. Material types define whether a material is produced only internally can be ordered only from third-party vendors, or whether both are possible. For example, a material that is defined as a trading good can only be ordered from a third-party vendor. However, if you manufacture your own finished products, you may also want, from time to time, to be able to order the same type of product from other vendors.
    Processing Third-Party Orders in Sales
Third-party items can be created automatically by the system, depending on how your system is set. However, you can also change a standard item to a third-party item during sales processing manually.
    Automatic third-party order processing:-
if a material is always delivered from one or more third-party vendors, you can specify in the material master that the material is a third-party item. During subsequent sales order processing, the system automatically determines the appropriate item category for a third-party item: TAS. To specify a material as a third-party item, enter BANS in the Item category group field in the Sales 2 screen of the material master record.
    Manual third-party order processing
In the case of a material that you normally deliver yourself but occasionally need to order from a third-party vendor, you can overwrite the item category during sales order processing. For a material that you normally deliver yourself, you specify the item category group NORM in the material master.
If, as an exception, you use a third-party material, change the entry TAN to TAS in the ItCa field when processing the sales document. The item is then processed as third-party item.
If address data for the ship-to party is changed in the sales order in third-party business transactions, the changed data will automatically be passed on to purchase requisition and also to the purchase order ,if one already exists. In the purchase order, you can display the address data for the ship-to party in the attributes for the item.
You can only change the address data for the ship-to party in the sales order for third-party business transactions, and not in the purchase order.
    Processing Third-Party Orders in Purchasing
when you save a sales order that contains one or more third-party items, the system automatically creates a purchase requisition in Purchasing. Each third-party item in a sales order automatically generates a corresponding purchase requisition item. During creation of the requisition, the system automatically determines a vendor for each requisition item. If a sales order item has more than one schedule line, the system creates a purchase requisition item for each schedule line.
Purchase orders are created from purchase requisitions in the usual way. For more information about creating purchase orders, see the Purchasing documentation. During creation of the purchase order, the system automatically copies the delivery address of your customer from the corresponding sales order. In a sales order, you can enter purchase order texts for each third-party item. When you create the corresponding purchase order, the texts are automatically copied into the purchase order. The number of the purchase order appears in the document flow information of the sales order.
All changes made in the purchase order are automatically made in the sales order as well. For example, if the vendor confirms quantities and delivery dates different from those you request and enters them in the purchase order, the revised data is automatically copied into the sales order
you process third-party items by creating a normal sales order. In overview for the order, you can then overwrite the default item category (TAN in the standard system) with the special item category for third-party items: TAS
    Billing Third-Party Orders
If relevance for billing indicator for the item category has been set to B (relevant for order-related billing on the basis of the order quantity) in Customizing, the system includes the order in the billing due list immediately. If, however, the indicator has been set to F (relevant to order-related billing on the basis of the invoice quantity), the system does not include the order in the billing due list until an invoice from the vendor has been received and processed by the purchasing department. In the standard system, item category TAS (third-party order processing) has been given billing-relevance indicator F.
In the first case, the third-party order is considered to be completely billed only when the invoiced quantity equals the order quantity of the sales order item. In the second case, each time a vendor invoice is received, a customer invoice is created for the quantity in the vendor invoice and the order is considered to be fully invoiced until the next vendor invoice is received.
If you have activated billing-relevance indicator F for item categories in Customizing, billing can refer to the goods receipt quantity instead of the incoming invoice quantity.
You can control whether the invoice receipt quantity or the quantity of goods received is relevant for billing in Customizing for copying control for billing at item level.
FOR YOUR PROCESS Individual Purchase Orders WELL GIVE THE RIGHT SOLUTION
Individual purchase orders are used when your customer orders goods from you that are not in stock and must be ordered from one or more external vendors.
    Process Flow
During sales order entry, the system automatically creates a purchase requisition item. The purchasing department creates a purchase order based on the requisition and the vendor ships the goods directly to you (unlike third party order processing, where the vendor ships directly to your customer). You then ship the goods to your customer. While the goods are part of your inventory, you manage them as part of the sales order stock. Sales order stock consists of stock that is assigned to specific sales orders and cannot be used for other purposes.
Process Flow for 3rd Party Sales
Customize the third party sales in summary:
    Prerequisites for 3rd party sales,
    Purchasing org,
    purchasing group,

  • How to configure a new third party sales document type?

    Hi SAP SD gurus,
I am new to the SAP world, I need your help in configuring a new third party sales document type for a site.
There are existing third party document types being used in the region, but the client wants an entirely new third party document type that is activated for CREDIT MANAGEMENT.
I just need your inputs, as how to go about it. If I copy from an existing third party sales doc. What additional steps do I need to follow? Like Item category config, copy control settings, and credit management.
Is there a need to create new billing types?
Also as per process, by creating a new document type, how will it affect the logistic processes, if any?
Thanks a lot in advance for your valuable inputs.

    Hello,
You can create new document type under following customization path
    SPRO>>Sales and Distribution>>Sales>>Sales Documents>>Define Sales Document Types
Now create new document type by copying the standard document type OR
    Now go to
    SPRO>>Sales and Distribution>>Sales>>Sales Documents>>Sales Document Item>>Define Item Categories
which is already defined for third party sales (TAS)
Now assign this iteme category to your new document type
    SPRO>>Sales and Distribution>>Sales>>Sales Documents>>Sales Document Item>>Assign Item Categories
Assignment needs to be done in combination of sales document type and item category group (BANS)
    Now
    SPRO>>Sales and Distribution>>Sales>>Sales Documents>>Schedule Lines
Assignment of schedule line is already done as you are using the standard one.
Lastly, you may need to maintain copy control for your newly created sales document type for this go to
SPRO>>Sales and Distribution>>Sales>>Maintain Copy Control for Sales Documents
(Copying Control: Sales Document to Sales Document)
Here you can define copy control requirements.

    2) What tasks / areas did you cover and what did the MM consultant cover?
    3) The prices to pay to the third party by the company (your client), who configured it (you or MM consultant)?
    4) Any other realtime issues, learnings in connection with third party configuration process?
Please note - I am not asking for the "technical" steps (e.g. BANS, TAS, CS, Purchase org., ME11, ME01 etc.)
    Many thanks, in advance!

    1) Did you (SD consultant) configure it in SAP together with a MM consultant?
Yes. It has to be configured with help / co-operation from MM side.
    2) What tasks / areas did you cover and what did the MM consultant cover?
SD Consultant - All SD related config like Sales Doc type, item Category (most important Billing relevance), Schedule Line Category (activaton of creation of PR), Copy Control between Order & Invoice & Procing Procedure.
    3) The prices to pay to the third party by the company (your client), who configured it (you or MM consultant)?
You mean for payment to Vendor - it is purely MM Configuration right from Creation of PO from PR, Statistical MIGO (if Required) & MIRO (Purchase Invoice).
    4) Any other realtime issues, learnings in connection with third party configuration process?
My most important learning was Billing Relevance settting in SD Item Cateogry. (I mean you can control in SD, whether the Sales Invoice is to be created on basis on Statistical MIGO or MIRO)...
The above question & answers are too generic. Kindly let us know any specific qiestions you have.
    Hope this helps,
