Exclude Quality Inspection from Batch Determination

Hi Guys
I have am stuck with  a very strange scenario and need your help to sort this out please
In the process orders I have set auto-batch determination on release and in the checking rule I have excluded the quality inspection lot.
Now when I am release the process order on batch determination it picks up the quality inspection batch!
Can you please let me know where and how this can be resolved
Thanks in advance
Rahul

"Also when I do the material availability check the QI stock is not considered."
Presumably, this availability check is run when order is status CRTD. Please check if the same checking rule has been applied to "Creation" & "Release" in OPJK. If not, check the differences between these checking rules in OVZ9.
"However I am not sure if the checking rule decides the batch determination, please correct me if I am wrong. And let me know where do we maintain the relationship between the cheking rule and batch determination procedure!"
Yes, they are related. Batches go through 3 stages to be determined.
Stage 1: Check against Stock
Stage 2: Check against Classification
Stage 3: Availability Check.
It may be possible that stage 3 is not a dynamic availability check, in which case the checking rule is irrelevant. However, if it is a dynamic availability check, the checking rule is relevant.
The quickest way to determine if a dynamic ATP check is executed is to set a breakpoint at Function Module AVAILABILITY_CHECK_CONTROLLER in se37. This breakpoint should be reached when you release the order. The first line of code in the function module is:
CHECK NOT P_ATPCSX[] IS INITIAL.
Double click on P_ATPCSX[] to see if it contains entries. If this table contains entries, a dynamic ATP check is executed.
Also, When you enter CO09 for the material, plant and checking rule, is the QI stock displayed?

  • Exclude storage location during batch determination

    Dear SAP Gurus,
My client senario is PP-PI. We are using batch determination in process order. Suppose my raw material is 'A'. It is present in ST1-100 qty, ST2-200 qty and ST3-150 qty. Now during batch determination i want to consider only ST1 and ST2 in determination and don't want to include ST3 in determination. But during determination system consider all 3 locations. So how can i exclude ST3 from batch determination.
What things i have to do for this. Please help me out.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Harish Gunjatay.

    Hi,
    Sol 1:
U can create Storage location as one Characteristic and while determining the batch, you can play with this characeteristic. Just this logic strikes my mind. See the posibility. And by "Reference Characteristic" concept if u can establish automatic updation of this characteristic, it will be superb.
    Sol 2:
In Bactch Information Cockpit I think u can filter the storage location out. Try this also.

  • How to exclude restricted-use batch from batch-determination in backflushin

    Hello,
In the Goods-Movement screen during confirmation transaction (i.e. backflushing), we see that SAP has selected some batches that are restricted-use stock.  This must be due to some setting in batch-determination functionality.  We want to know how to exclude restricted-use stocks from being considered in batch-determination.  What setting, in which config transaction, can help us achieve this ?  Kindly help.  Thanks.
    - Chetan

    Thanks Manoj,
That was a very good information and I learnt something new.
However, I checked, and in that config, we are already "not-allowing" restricted-use stock for MvT-261.  So what else can be used to prohibit its selection during backflushing.  Thanks.

  • Movement of stocks in quality inspection from warehouse to warehouse

We are currently implementing SAP with WM and was told that material that is produced on our production lines that is received via GR transaction into Quality Inspection status cannot be moved from one warehouse in WM to another warehouse in WM even if both warehouses are under the same plant.  Is this valid statement and if so is there any recommendations to provide for this as a requirement?

I believe it's a true statement across Plants, I've never tested within a Plant.  If you have batch management, you could consider using a characteristic to restrict use/control status instead.

  • Remove already assigned batches from batch determination

    We face the following situation:
At material issue we have a FIFO based batch determination. This normally works like a charm. Only when this batch is already assigned to a delivery, the assigned quantity is not available anymore when doing the batch determination for another goods movement. The delivery is not yet picked, so it is correct that the FIFO availability shows the batch. Only there are no selectable quantities left.
How would you deal with this situation? User are confused since they have no indication that the batch is already assigned. They just see it as available in stock.

    Ivo Voeten

can you check in OVZ2 whether you have a flag for no check  for 02.
The system carries out the following steps in batch determination:
    1) it looks for a search procedure for the business transaction
2)it searches through the strategy types listed in the search procedure for a search strategy. The first valid search strategy is adopted and all other search strategies are ignored.
3)it then uses the characteristics from the selection class of the search strategy to look for batches with suitable specifications
4)it checks whether the batches are available
5)it sorts the batches that were found and are available according to the sort rule from the search strategy
6)the system selects a proposed quantity in accordance with the proposed quantity from the search strategy.
7)the system proposes that batch determination is to run online, providing that the search strategy contains the information
you problem seems to be in step 4. Your system assumes the batch is availabe while it is already assigned to a delivery.
In my system such batches are not available, even the stock is not yet picked.

  • Error In Batch Determination

    Hello,
I have configured Batch Determination Only for Inventory Management as follows:

    -Class
    -Sort Sequence
And assigned them in "Startegy type"
-Strategy Type was created (from copying Standard)
    and assigned to "Search Procedure"
This search procedure is assignd to Movement type
Defination of Initial Batch creation for Movement Type is also maintained as - Automatic/manual without Chk.
Batch Classification for Goods movement is activated for MvT- 101 & 561
    with indicator 3.
Classification is also maintained in Material Master
Still getting WARNING message while doing Goods Reciept using MvT-561

    Hi,
    Configuration Steps
    - Define Inventory management Condition - T.code is OMA1  (Optional)
    - Define Acess Sequence (SPRO --> Logistic General ---> Batch management ---> Batch Determination and batch check ---> Access Sequences --> Define Inventory Management Access Sequences (Optional)
    - Define Strategy Type :- Logistic General ---> Batch management ---> Batch Determination and batch check --->Strategy Types ---> Define Inventory Management Strategy Types
    -  Define Batch Search Procedure :-  Logistic General ---> Batch management ---> Batch Determination and batch check ->Batch Search Procedure Definition--> Define Inventory Management Search Procedure
    - Batch Search Procedure Allocation and Check Activation - T.code OMCG
Now in this T. code if you activate check box for Check Batch then system will throw an
error or warning massage in case of wrong Batch Assignment during Manual Batch allocation.
And I think you are finding the same error (LB051) Correct?
    Prerequisites at Master Level
    - Material Should be batch managed.
    - Batch Class with Characteristic LOBM_VFDAT should be maintained in Material Master
    - Create Sort Rule with T.code CU70 (FEFO - First expire First Out)and assign Characteristic LOBM_VFDAT  with Ascending rule.
    - Create Batch Search Strategy using T.code MBC1 and assign above created Sort rule and batch Class to it.
and if you want to allow more than batches in case of Sort qty then assign no. Batch Spli(Max. allow batch Split is 999)
    - Most Important Shelf Life Data should be maintain in all the concern Batches.

  • Automatic batch determination for quality inspection stock

    Hello, gurus.
Could you please, help me with the following problem: I have received on the certain storage location some quantity of material maintained in batches into quality inspection stock with 501 movement type. Now I would like to make reverse posting, but I do not want to use cancellation of the document, I need to use 502 movement type and determine batch from quality inspection stock with automatic batch determination in MIGO transaction. I assigned Batch search procedure to 502 movement type and created all necessary condition records. I use Checking Group for Availability Check ‘CH’ and Checking Rule for Availability Check ‘03’ where I include quality inspection stock. However no batch can be determined. But if I use 331 movement type, everything is OK, the batch is determined without any problems. If I manually put batch and valuation type for the material, the system shows no error.
Why it is not possible to do automatic batch determination for quality inspection stock then?

OK, let us talk abou it. I check it in my system, actually 502 can work, but I can't trigger BM determination by 501. Maybe BM determination onlys to select some existing batches for consumption. For 501 in my pratice I can select all the existing batches to be added or just add a new batch.

  • Batch from quality inspection to unrestricted use.

    Hi everybody
Someone can help me with the following problem?
I made a good receipt for order with a movement type 101. We are using the QM module, then with the movement type 101 an inspection lot is generated, consequently the amount entered is place in quality inspection. For any reason the inspection lot was not generated or this was canceled. My problem is that, now the amount entered is in quality inspection and there is not a lot inspection to move the amount from quality inspection to unrestricted use.
I tried use a movement type 102 (transaction MB31) but the system send the message that the movement must be done only with QM transaction. The same message was sent when I tried to cancel the material document (MBST).
Someone know how I can create an inspection lot or how I can move the amount from quality inspection to unrestricted use?
    Thanks in advance.

    hi carlos
if you create an inspection lot manually you cannot able to post the stock ( since a manual inpsection lot is not stock relevant) better thing is try to figure out why inspection lot is not genereated and solve it
i think if the inspection lot is not generated it will show some message during MIGO itself.try to find the inspection lot using QA32 and specify the material and select Select all inspection lot

  • Problem in BAPI for stock posting from quality inspection  to unrestricted usage

    Hi all,
I am using BAPI_GOODSMVT_CREATE for  stock posting from quality inspection  to unrestricted usage Stock against quality inspection lot(not by MB1B) using mvt type 321.The material doc gets created by the BAPI,but actual stock posting is not taking place ie.the stock doesn’t get reflected in QA33/32 and QA11 also .Can any one suggest what must be wrong? The inputs given are as follows:
    GOODSMVT_HEADER:
    PSTNG_DATE =30/07/2014, DOC_DATE = 30/07/2014, REF_DOC_NO = INSP LOT NO.
    GOODSMVT_CODE:
    GM_CODE:  ‘04’ .
    GOODSMVT_ITEM:
    MATERIAL = MATERIAL NO
    PLANT = PLANTCODE
    STGE_LOC = ‘WIP’
    BATCH = BATCHNO
    MOVE_TYPE   = ‘321’
    ENTRY_QNT = 100
    ENTRY_UOM =  ‘EA’
    ORDERID =  Prd ord no.
After executing this I used BAPI_TRANSACTION_COMMIT also. I am able to see the posted qty in MMBE,but it is not reflecting in QA11/33/32.
    Kindly help me.

    Hi Naveen,
Thanks for the reply. Even after using FM QAVE_PROCESS_AUTO_UD,when i execute
BAPI_GOODSMVT_CREATE, the same thing is happening.I am unable to see the stock deducted in QA33.
Is there any input in the goods mvt bapi where we can provide inspection lot no since i believe that the goods mvt has to get connected with the inspection lot.

  • Change stock from unresticted stock to quality inspection stock

    Hi,
I have a material with Qualtiy View.we have done G.R. & also made UD & now my material lying in unresticted Stock.but now i want to cancle the G.R..
What is the procedure to change stock from unresticted stock to quality inspection stock through quality module.

    Hi
user Exit QEVA0008  in SMOD you can check the documentation.
Module for Editing Customer Function Code
This user exit allows you to activate a function key in the menu for the
    usage decision.
You can freely define the description and function associated with this
    function key (+FC1).
You can use this feature, for example, to revoke (reset) the usage
    decision.
Refer to the documentation for function module EXIT_SAPMQEVA_008.
    Functionality
This function module is called if the freely defined function (+FC1) in the menu for the usage decision transactions is called up. A prerequisite for this is the activation of the user exit QEVA0008.
    Example
Using this function module, you can reset the usage decision in transactions QA12 ("Change usage decision with history") and QA14 ("Change usage decision without history").
Include LXQEVF10 contains sample coding for resetting the usage decision.
    Notes
Business transaction QM68 is available for this function in the standard system. You can display a where-used list for this transaction in transaction BS33 (Display transactions).
If business transaction QM68 was carried out successfully, the system sets the inspection lot status "UDRE" - usage decision reset (system status I0297). You can display a where-used list for this status in transaction BS23 (Display system statuses).
If you want to use the function to reset the usage decision, be sure to consider the following points:
If a vendor is released (status profile in the quality info record), an update is carried out only once; this means that if the usage decision is reset, the status in the supply relationship is not corrected.
If you make the usage decision again, the inspection results will also be transferred to the batch classification.
The quality level is updated only once (when you make the initial usage decision). If the usage decision is changed, the quality level is not updated.
    Regards
    Sujit

  • Quality Inspection for the 1st time Receive of Batch

    Hi all.
My requirement is just to do the quality inspection when the Batch(MCHA-CHARG) is received in the first time in MIGO.
No quality inspection is required for next & consequtive goods receive for the same batch.
for the 1st time receive, the stock will go to quality inspection stock for any batch of a material. From the next time , the stock will go directly to unrestricted stock without quality inspection. is it possible? plz advice.
    Thanks
    pabi

    Hi Pabi,
I am not sure if this will help you, but here are the three options that you might want to consider:
    - Source inspection. The idea here is that an IL is created for a purchase order prior to GR. All subsequent receipts for this PO can be configured to skip inspection.
    - Control if insp. lot in material master (insp. set-up). In this case, the system will not create new insp. lot, if there's already one open for the same batch - it will merely add the qty of the new GR to the same open insp. lot.
    - With dynamic modification you can let the following receipts of the same material from the same vendor to go without QI, but you can't fine-tune it by batch.
I know this is not the same what you want, but I can't recall at the moment a function that will satisfy your requirement exactly.

  • Batch Determination when Goods Movement done from DBM side

    Hi SAP Experts,
Greetings to all of you!! I wanted to ask you a question:
We have configured DBM and Automatic Bacth Determination is active in our system from MM side.
and when we click the "Goods Movement" button in the DBM screen (this should issue goods with mvt type 261) we get error message saying: Enter Batch".
There is no field on DBM screen where I can enter the batch number. And the system is also unable to determine the batch (i was expecting the batch will be assigned automatically becasue the Batch Determination was configured in the system).
Please tell me if there is any customization missing from DBM or MM side to perform the goods movement.
Moreover the "Goods Movement" is working fine for materials which are not batch managed.
    Thanking you in advance.
    Regards,
    UK

    Hi UK,
i am sorry i don't think DBM is currently supporting batches.

  • How to Clear Stock From Quality Inspection

    Dear Sir,
We have following problem scenario :
In the Quality View the wrong type of Inspection Type was given and subsequently during MIGO as  the "Quality Inspection" option was selected under Stock Type , so after MIGO stock got posted under Quality Inspection  and no Inspection Lot was created .
Now we want to clear the Stock from QI to either Un-restricted or any other type , so that material can be cleared and brought to Un-restricted Stock  ultimately .
We tried to use MB1b with movement type 321 , but it given error as "Change the inspection stock of material CJMC1A0477 in QM only" .
I request you to kindly guide me as how can the Stock be cleared from QI .
    With Thanks and Regards

    Hi ALL,
I'm also facing the same issue. In material master QM view : Q M Procurement activity deactivated and Inspection setup also deactivated.  This is not a proper way to solve the issue anyway i have deactivated, but still i am facing same issue.
Please anybody can help on this...

  • Remove stock from Quality Inspection

    Dear All,
In material master by mistak quality inspection flag was active in packing material with 01 inspection type.
When we received material it goes for quality inspection after MIGO. So in MMBE it shows in Quality Inspection.
Now the Plant in which MIGO was prepared has no quality related data maintained.
We tried to reverese MIGO document but system not allowing to do as srock is in Quality inspection.
Is there any way to reverse the MIGO or moving stock from quality to unrestricted?
    Thanks in advance,
    Nirav

Did you identify the original material document and then try MBST transaction to cancel the document?
When you use the term "reverse" it sound like you are trying to do a 102 against the 101.  You can't reverse the transaction, you have to use MBST to cancel the transaction.
Otherwise you have to set up enough QM data to process the lot.
