Excluding export of non-tagged content in XML

Sorry for the obfuscated subject line, but not sure how to state it. Anyway, here's the deal:
I have an ID file that I have created tags for and mapped to styles. It exports and imports fine to a new document.
However, there is text in the original document that I do not want to either export or import into the new document. I.e., I want the export/import process to be selective.
I've tried creating new styles for the text not-to-export, and not mapping them, but the content is still in the root and gets exported/imported.
Is there any way to tag, not tag, or structure either document so that I only export/import selectively?

Well, I will provide at least one answer to my own question.
I created a tag in my original document called "no-export" and tagged the non-exportable text with that.
I re-imported the XML file into my 2nd document and deleted the "no-export" tagged text.
When I imported again, I checked "Only import elements that match existing structure" and the no-export tagged text was not imported.

• Error in Get Next Non-Text Sibling for XML without CR at end of tag

Hallo all,
I'm having a strange error parsing XML files with labview. I have an XML file in one single line, without CR at end of each tag. A normal browser or XML parsing tool is capable to read it, but not with Labview.
The error I have is with "Get Next Non-Text Sibling.vi", which internally fails to read Type property (Error -2630, Property Node (arg 1) in NI_XML.lvlib:Get Next Non-Text Sibling.vi->XML Get Siblings Childs Nodes.vi->Encode data to label (Path).vi).
Labview XML parser works if I add a CR at each tag/node.
I'm quite sure this is a labview bug. A workaround I have found is to open the file, then save the file with Save File (Pretty Print) method and reopen it again, but it is time-consuming and I would like to avoid it.

Which node do you pass to XML Get Siblings Child Nodes.vi ? That is also important.
I can imagine the following scenario causing your problem: Your input node has a child node C,, but this child node has no siblings. Get Next Non-Text Sibling.vi will fail in this case. If you put a <CR> at the right position in your XML you create a text node with content <CR>. If this text node is a sibling of child C then Get Next Non-Text Sibling.vi still won't return anything but no error should occur. IMHO this is expected behavior. You can however implement your own version of Get Next Non-Text Sibling.vi. Use the Next Sibling property and check if it returns a valid refnum.

• How to export table contents in xml file format through SQL queries

hi,
i need to export the table data in to xml file format. i got it through the GUI what they given.
i'm using Oracle 10g XE.
but i need to send the table name from Java programs. so, how to call the export commands from programming languages through. is there any sql commands to export the table contents in xml format.
and one more problem is i created each transaction in two tables. for example if we have a transaction 'sales' , that will be saved in db as
sales1 table and sales2 table. here i maintained and ID field in sales1 as PK. and id as FK in sales2.
i get the combined data with this query,
select * from sales1 s1, sales2 s2 where s1.id=s2.id order by s1.id;
it given all the records, but i'm getting two ID fields (one from each table). how to avoid this. here i dont know how many fields will be there in each table. that will be known at runtime only.
the static information is sales1 have one ID field with PK and sales2 will have one ID filed with FK.
i need ur valuable suggestions.
regards
pavan.

You can use DBMS_XMLGEN.getXML('your Query') for generating data in tables to XML format and you can use DBMS_XMLGEN.SETROWSETTAG to change the parent element name other wise it will give rowset as well as DBMS_XMLGEN.SETROWTAG for row name.
Check this otherwise XMLELEMENT and XMLFOREST function are also there to convert data in XML format.

Hi Rob,
From the screen shots it looks like your script is not formatted properly (you may refer to 'Paladin Script' in 'Sample Project' to get an idea of how the script should be formatted.).
Further please follow the steps mentioned below to use Story to PP workflow.
Create a new Film script in Adobe Story
Create scene heading – INT. LOCATION – Day (these will show up in the outline view panel on left hand side)
Hit enter, hit TAB
Enter the name of the speaker, hit TAB or ENTER
Copy over the transcribed text
Build your script this way
Number scenes from the production menu
Export ASTX file for your script : File->Export->.astx
Open Premiere Pro
Create a new project, bring in media
In the project pane, find the "Scene" column
For the clip that contains the spoken text, assign the same scene number to the clip as you have in the story script (lets say both are scene 1)
Click out of the scene box in the project panel in Ppro
Right click on the scene that you just assigned a scene number to and select – attach Story script
Select the .astx fle you exported in step 8
Click ok
You should now see the script data in the metadata panel for the clip in the metadata panel.
You can now run speech to text based on "Embedded Script metadata" to time align spoken word to the script.
Let us know if this is helpful.
Thanks

• How to read content between xml tags?

is there any way to read the content between xml tag

> is there any way to read the content between xml tag
Yes. Are you having some sort of problem? If so, please be a little more explicit about what you're doing, what you expect to happen, and what you actually observe.
Please post a short, concise, executable example of what you're trying to do. Don't post the actual code you are using (I can't emphasize this strongly enough). Just write a small example that demonstrates the problem, and only that. Wrap the code in a class and give it a main method that runs it - if we can just copy and paste the code into a text file, compile it and run it without any changes, then we can be sure that we haven't made incorrect assumptions about how you are using it.
Post your code between
and
tags. Cut and paste the code, rather than re-typing it (re-typing often introduces subtle errors that make your problem difficult to troubleshoot). Please preview your post when posting code.
Please assume that we only have the core API. We have no idea what SomeCustomClass is, and neither does our collective compiler.
If you have an error message, post the exact, complete error along with a full stack trace, if possible. Make sure you're not swallowing any Exceptions.
Help us help you solve your problem.

• XI XML Parser: tag content with "'", single apostrophe: invalid character

Hi all,
we import XML-documents with the file adapter in a sender channel. everything works well.
But if one of the XML-tag contents contains a single apostrophe ( ' ), then the XML parser stops with an error "An invalid character was found inside an entity reference. ". The message can not be processed. If I test the message content in the mapping -> no error.
When the single apostrophe is dereferenced by an additional single apostrophe the XML-File can be processed.
Question: does anybody know how this can be handled because it is not very nice of SAP XI to send single apostrophes in outgoing messages but cannot handle it in incoming messages from other systems? special adapter settings?
Thank you very much

• Export different tags in multiple xml

Hi
I receive multiple indesign files which i need tag through stylesheet with the feature called "map styles to tag" which exports as XML, now the problem I'm facing is there are some indesign files which are having multiple stories in one files (like e.g. each story have 1 headline, 1 description and 1 body copy) so now when i export as XML i recieve multiple tags in one xml and unfortunately our backend doesn't support more than 1 tag in each XML
So is there a way by which if i assign 3 different tags for the 3 headlines and i get a option to export it in multiple xml for the tags i select or i choose
though i can do it manually but the quantity is huge so it'll be a too much of work and monitoring

Shabd wrote:
Showing login page to the user when requested for some protected page is done by security-constraint tag in web.xml
I have not manually coded for it. I understand that. What I was trying to say was, when an incoming request for a particular protected page takes the user to login page (because the request doesnt have a session associated with it), there is some code on the server doing either 1. an internal forward or 2. a redirect
If it's a forward, any call to request.getRequestURI() in that request would return the path to the original request.
And when i print the requested uri in login.jsp it doesnt show the originaly requested URL but the login page.
So what can be done for the same.Hmmm...that would pretty much mean a redirect. Just to confirm that, do you have Firefox? It has an add-on called 'Live Http Headers'. Install that and see the request / response flow for the original request. If it's a redirect, you would see 2 requests being made (one is your original request and then the redirect request). There is nothing you can do (at least as far as I know) if it's a redirect.
You could always ofcourse strip of the security constraint and write it yourself in a filter.

• How to quick import Tags from a xml file?

Good morning/afternoon/night everyone.
I have this client that want me to import something like 1000 tags from a xml file in CQ5.5. I know I can do it programatically and in dev.day.com I have already found some instructions, but, there is some easier way to do this? Or, if the only way is developing a bundle to run in a workflow (and then the client can import tags from xml files anytime he want to), do you guys have some advice or guidelines?
Thanks!

I would expect it should be possible using vault. If you export an existing namespace from cq using vault (checkout/update) you can see what format it should be in. Then you should convert your xml to match that format (perhaps using XSLT) and use vault in the other direction (commit).
We are using vault all the time behind the scenes using a vault plugin for maven. This way we can export content from one developer's cq instance, put it in SVN and have another developer import it in his cq instance, all using maven (and vault). This is especially usefull for general content structures and for tags.

• Selecting the content of XML element CS3(JS)

Hi
I am trying to select the whole content of XML Element.
I am trying like this
app.activeDocument.xmlElements[i].select();
But it is not working.
Regards
Suresh

A few hints:
Perhaps your variable
i i
is not defined. If that's the case, give up trying to write code for this complicated job! XML is not the easiest part of ID to begin with. Starting with uninitialized variables and flagging that as an error (and complaining about that in a forum) is a beginners' blunder.
If I run your script line with i set to 0, the first element of my XML structure is selected. I can see with my own eyes it works, because I have the XML Structure pane in ID open. If I click on the 2nd element there and run your script line, the top (= 0th) element is selected. Perhaps you didn't open the XML Structure view so you did not see it worked after all. Or perhaps you expected something
i else
to be selected -- the text content, maybe -- so you tag it as "error". That's a misinterpretation of what the XmlElement object is. Understandable, but still not an error. You can have lots of XmlElements without any text or other object associated. If it was your intention to select whatever the xml element contains, try working with the property 'xmlContent'. From its description I gather that sort-of does this alternative interpretation, i.e., you can select the
i text
which is pointed to by the element. Untried. But do read on.
If I run your script with i = 1, I
i do
get an error, and it's perfectly valid too! "Object is invalid" -- well, of course it is. There is no other XML element at that level. An app.document.xmlelements entry always points to the
i root
of the XML, and you can only have one. Perhaps you expected #1 to be the next sub-element. Well, not so in the ID implementation -- as usual for almost all XML based structures, it's a tree. The "next" element is xmlElements[0].xmlElements[0], which you can check by changing your line to
>app.activeDocument.xmlElements[0].xmlElements[0].select();
and verifying the 2nd element from the top is selected in the XML Structure view.

• Mime-type tag in web.xml and attachment download

i have set a mime-type in web.xml as below:
<mime-mapping>
<extension>xls</extension>
<mime-type>application/vnd.ms-excel</mime-type>
</mime-mapping>
And i have a simple jsp that only shows a table and i am making this jsp to get downloaded as an excel attachment. To make it possible i have written the following line in the JSP:
response.setHeader( "content-disposition", "attachment; filename=myexcel.xls" );
But i am not setting the content type first by writing:
response.setContentType( "application/vnd.ms-excel" );
since i have already mentioned the appropriate mime-type for excel files in web.xml.
I am using both mozilla and IE. Both are showing file download dialog. But IE is able to correctly identify the type of the attachment and opens it up with Microsoft Excel whereas mozilla fails to identify the type, assumes it to be an HTML document and opens it up in a new window of IE.
mozilla works fine only when i set the content type in the JSP itself. But IE works in all conditions even without having the mime-type tag in web.xml.
If i have already specified the mime-type for particular type of file in web.xml, is there any requirement to set the content type again in the JSP/servlet?
Please help. I even changed the mime-type for .xls (excel) files in web.xml and made it text/plain, but still the same thing is happening. IE is always showing the correct file type where as mozilla is taking it as an HTML document.
i am using weblogic server 8.1.

the web xml mime type setting are for static files served by the server...
if you print a file directly to the output of the servlet, you must set the mime type, so DO write :
response.setContentType( "application/vnd.ms-excel" );
IE "works fine" because it also uses the file extension to decide the mime type... but in the absolute, it's a wrong behaviour

• Non-default system-application.xml file?

There's mention in the OC4J documentation regarding specifying a non-default system-application.xml file; however, I cannot find the string defining it in any of the OC4J files, nor in the documentation though I might have missed it in that.
I am attempting to have multiple instances run out of the same ORACLE_HOME, and I'd like to point the logs to separate places per instance. Every other one is pretty clear (defined in the customized server.xml), this one with its logging parameter I cannot find a method for keeping a separate log file per instance other than simply creating multiple oracle or at least j2ee homes. Short cut for keeping things consistent for many settings and deployments, though may not be feasible for a running environment.
Any information or points in the right direction would be appreciated. Thanks,
Geoff

You can modify the <log> tag in system-application.xml to rotate the system log file.
System application is a key internal component that is critical to OC4J startup, the system-application.xml file should not be modified except for the <jazn> and <log> tags.
You can modify the <jazn> tag as needed to specify changes to the security provider, the location of the OC4J security configuration file (system-jazn-data.xml), or both. For more information about <jazn> and the system-jazn-data.xml file, see the Oracle Containers for J2EE Security Guide.
There's no reference of system-application.xml in other config files.

• Showing html content in xml

Hi!
I really cannot find any answers to my question.
I'm using the spry framework for outputting a table, from a source xml. In some records the xml holds HTML elements like links and line breaks. I want these element to show up on the table created by the spry.
If I simply want to output the table leaving the HTML tags in the xml, it simply doesn't load.
If I use CDATA, for storing HTML content, js changes the < and > to ≶ and > so links doesn't work.
