Excluding task(s) from SPI or CPI Calculations

Is there a mechanism to exclude task(s) from being included in the SPI/CPI calculations?
The reason why I am asking this is we want to exclude a couple level of effort tasks from counting for or against the SPI/CPI.
Thanks,
Cheryl

Thank you Prasanna and Guillaume for your input.
Prasanna,
Removing the baselines on the particular task(s) does seem to exclude some of the data from being included in SPI/CPI; however the baseline initially rolled up to the level 0 summary task, so with this approach either the SPI/CPI should be not
be evaluated at the level 0 summary task level.  Instead the values should be viewed for the section of baselined tasks, assuming that the schedule was arranged to isolate the level of effort (LOEs) tasks to not include in SPI/CPI.  To avoid
this issue, at the initial onset of schedule development ensure the LOEs are isolated and NEVER include these in the baseline, even in the initial baseline that way their values are excluded.  The ACWP will continue to get impacted, so CPI will always
be impacted even at Level 0 summary task.  But we have some options, your suggestion allowed us to dig in these.  Thank you.
Guillaume,
We may take a look at this approach, however we rely on the task updates from actuals, so yes does sound like a bit more work.  But thank you for the suggestion.

  • Exclude specific songs from factoring into auto calculated Album Rating?

    I really like using the calculated (empty star) Album Rating system, however I was wondering if there was a way to exclude some songs on an album from being averaged into the Album Rating. My reasoning for this is that I don't want intros/outros/skits or bonus tracks to bring the overall rating of an album down (there are many albums in my library that drop down a star rating because of bonus tracks that I don't really like, but wish to keep a part of the album for collection purposes). Is there anyway to make this happen? Thanks.

    You do have a very complex looking site and may need several tables in mysql to handle all that data. If you knew to phpmysql I would suggest taking a look at this tutorial it will help get you started in understanding how to $_GET info from a database and also how to $_POST data to a database. I am no expert just learning myself and I found this very helpful. This is the link http://www.adobe.com/devnet/dreamweaver/articles/first_dynamic_site_pt1.html
    There are also many tutorials on Youtube to help build a CMS Content Management Site I would suggest the following: -

  • Exclude NULL values from SUM and AVG calculation

    Hi,
    I have column in report that contains some NULL values. When i perform SUM,MAX,MIN or AVG calculation on this column the NULL values are treated as '0' and included in calculation. Is there any way to exclude them while calculating aggregate functions?
    As a result MIN calculation on values (NULL,0.7,0.5,0.9) gives me output as 0 when it should have been 0.5
    Can someone please help ?
    Thanks and Regards,
    Oliver D'mello

    Hi Oliver,
    According to your description, you want to ignore the NULL values when you perform aggregation functions.
    In this scenario, aggregate functions always ignore the NULL values, because their operation objects are non-null values. So I would like to know if you have assigned “0” for NULL values. I would appreciate it if you could provide some screenshots about
    your expressions or reports.
    Besides, we have tested in our environment using  Min() function. The expression returns the minimum value among the non-null numeric values. Please refer to the screenshots below:

  • Exclude task from workflow log

    I have had a client ask me to stop several tasks in a particular workflow from appearing in the workflow log. There does not appear to be an option that does this. The options I see are
    In all workflow logs
    Only in technacal workflow log
    Condition 'Complete Work Item ' True: Not in graf protocol
    The user doesn't want to see certain taks in the log displayed via SWI1. Anyone know how to achieve this?
    Cheers,
    Ross

    Dear Ross,
    I guess this is not something that is soft customizing. This needs to have a change done in the workflow template.
    As Rick mentioned, there are few steps where you have an option in the Outcomes tab "Not in Workflow Log" checkbox that is used to exclude that step from the log.
    But this would call for a workflow change and would require a transport request.
    Hope this helps!

  • Exclude a version from the calculation

    Hello,
    In our model we have a version used uniquely to upload data. When the system starts to calculate, it includes this version.  We have tried to lock the version,but it still included in the calculation.
    We would like to know if is possible to exclude this version from the calculation in order to optimize the calculation.
    Thanks in advance,
    Best regards

    First of all, thanks for your responses.
    We would like to develop option 1 from Michaels' solutions, because we have too much LineItems (about 2000) for the option two. So we think, option 1 will be easier.
    The version we are going to exclude is "Initial Charge". Are you suggesting we should make next rule?
           Function CellValue
              RestrictDimension("Versions","Initial Charge")
              CellValue=0
          End Function
    In case of  excluding a single period from that version, next rule would be correct?
          Function CellValue
             RestrictDimension("Versions","Initial Charge")
             RestrictDimension("Periods","January")
             CellValue=0
          End Function
    Thanks again
    Best regards!

  • How to exclude salary arrears from pension deduction?

    I have setup a pension retro element and its calculating the retro amount correctly.
    However, its using sum of salary arrears (say,arrears for the month of March and April) and adding that to May salary and deducting pension on the total sum.
    (we do not want this, we want only May salary to be considered for pension retro element)
    Does anyone know how to exclude salary arrears from pension deduction element? Is there any obvious step, which I am missing in while defining the element?

    Hi,
    While doing retro for arrears, it will give at a time in one payroll only, no standard for installment payments.
    2nd option:
    Calculate the Total Arrears amount and divide it by four installments and through IT 0014 with New wage type and give for 4 months as start and end date.
    * you have to create a new wage type which is taxable and assigned to IT 0014.
    * add this new wt in Remuneration form in Earnings side.

  • Excluding Weekend dates from Select

    Hi all,
    I have a select statement that returns the average number of days a job stays at a particular status. What I want to do is to exclude weekend dates from the calculation. I am using oracle 10..
    My select statement looks like this when I look for status that is on New by taking the difference of the end_date and start_date that are not null. However this include the weekend dates as well so how do I exclude weekend dates from the computation.
    SELECT

  • How to exclude particular IPC from Rebates

    Dear SDN Team,
    Customer want to create some rebate in order to pay later on a promotional basis for the particular IPC.
    But they want to apply accruals on all IPC but by excluding particular IPC from Rebates, How to exclude the particular IPC from Rebates.
    Because customer want to exclude one IPC of the rebates calculation for only one rebates -
    Any Idea.
    For the above request i have suggested below solution - But it does not resolve their problems. But User is expecting further any other idea in order to resolve the above requirement.
    First Solution:
    In order to exclude the IPC for Ecopia from the rebates calculation- this can be done by setting the Material group in the Material Master - Basic Data1 view and you can exclude these IPC's while creating the condition records in the Rebate Agreement type.  By doing this we can exclude the rebates for the Ecopia tyres.
    Second alternative:  If you have already created the Rebate condition record for the Ecopia tyres then you can set the deletion indicator flag in the rebate condition for the particular IPC.
    Can you suggest any ideas in order to resolve this problem.
    Looking for your feedback.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Jana

    Dear,
    even if was not clear about the type of material you were reffering to, I analysed your request and I consider that you may proceed as follow.
    To achieve this result you do NOT have to modify the material master.
    Assumptions taken:
    A- you have to exclude only one material from the rebate calculation for only one rebate
    B- all other rebates do not have to be impacted by this exceptional rebate configuration
    C- material nr1 is the material to exclude
    D- material nr1 has a product hierarchy 00X (Line X)
    Procedure to achieve the objective:
    1) create a promotional rebate (RebateA) for the full Line X and set it relevant for accrual (define a percentage for accrual)
    2) create a promotional rebate (RebateB) for the single material nr1 and set it NOT relevant for accrual (no percentage for accrual)
    3) set the same percentage to pay or amount to pay to the customer in both rebates (A & B)
    4) set the same validity start-to for both rebates (A & B)
    5) define a percentage of accrual only for the first rebate (A only)
    The second rebate created (RebateB) will help in order to pay the right amount to the final customer.
    In order to perform a final settlement you will have IDEALLY simply subtract the values: RebateA - RebateB.
    There is no standard way to exclude single material from a single rebate without impacting the other active rebates.
    Of course, modify the material master is not the solution. Any change in material master will impact also open rebates and future rebates.
    For these reasons here above there is a business scenario you may apply to achieve the objective and it will not take a lot of time to maintain it.
    In case of questions or doubts to not hesitate to post your answer back to this post.

  • Exclude Stock Transfer from MRP Net Requirements

    Hi,
    Is it possible to exclude the Stock Transfer Orders from the Net Requirements generated by MRP? I want to base the requirements only from historical consumption. In my Stock/requirements list (MD04) for example, the Requisition generated by MRP increases in quantity since there are open Stock Transfers which are to be served by that plant to other plants.
    Regards,
    Lee

    Nazrin,
    Availability check configuration (OVZ9) has no impact on MRP.  MRP relies on its internal rules when it is performing its net requirements calculation.  You have very little control over which elements are included/excluded.
    You can exclude selected storage locations from MRP planning.  Stock and reservations against these storage locations will therefore also be excluded.
    You can exclude a material from planning, change the material master MRP type to ND.
    Your best bet, though, would be to set your PM planning process up such that these materials never create the reservation in the first place.

  • Can I exclude places.sqlite from time machine backup?

    Hi,
    Just looking at the time machine backup and raised a question about the repeated backup of places.sqlite in "~/Library/Application Support/Firefox/Profiles/xxxxxxxx.default/", I am wondering if I can exclude this file from my backup or even exclude Profiles from my backup?
    What would this affect my backup? Are these all essentials?
    I have looked into this page and understand what places.sqlite does. However, what don't know is if this file is missing, does Firefox produce one automatically?
    Or say, if each of my places.sqlite in the prevoius backups was like 90MB, how much size would them really take in the storage?

    Alvyn wrote:
    Thus, I am thinking if this "places.sqlite" thing is there every hour putting around 100MB to my time capsule, quickly my time capsule will be depleted.
    No, that's very small.
    Is there any way to do something like trimming time points from time capsule?
    Under normal circumstances, you shouldn't have to. TM automatically "thins" (deletes) backups every time it does a new backup, on the following schedule:
    "Hourly" backups after 24 hours (except the first of the day, which is a "Daily" backup).
    "Daily" backups after a month (except the first of each week, which is a "Weekly" backup.)
    "Weekly" backups are kept until TM needs the space for new backups; then one or more of the oldest weeklies will be deleted.
    So after a month, even if you do an hourly backup every day, and that 100 mb file is changed and backed-up +*every time+* (not real likely), you'd have 54 backups (1 per day plus 24). That would take a total of 5.4 GB, small potatoes on any TM drive, and really not worth worrying about.
    But if you want, you could delete all the backups of it. See #12 in the Frequently Asked Questions *User Tip,* also at the top of this forum.

  • How to exclude Web App from search results

    Hi
    Search results link to a unstyled Web App instead to the actual page it resides in.
    Please do this:
    1. go to: http://kinship.businesscatalyst.com/
    2. search for "Michael" on the top global search
    3. on the search results page click on the name (link).
    4. you will see Michael's web app item not the actuall page it resides in (http://kinship.businesscatalyst.com/About/the-team)
    How to avoid getting web app results in search?
    Thanks
    Micha

    Hi Micha
    Just add “&OT=35 “ at the end of the action in your search form:
    Ex:
    <form name=”xxxx” method=”post” action=”/Default.aspx?SiteSearchID=3566&amp;ID=/results&OT=35”>
    <div class=”search-box”><input type=”text” class= ............../>
    <input type=”submit” class=”cat_button” value=”search” />
    </div>
    </form>
    Here are the rest of the content types IDs, should you come across similar situations in the future:
    Web Pages = 1
    Literature = 6
    Announcements = 7
    FAQs = 9
    Forums = 43
    Blogs = 55
    Web Apps = 35
    Catalogs = 26
    Bookings = 48
    You can exclude multiple areas from a search, simply list them with commas: &OT=35,1,6

  • How do I properly exclude a folder from a time machine backup?

    I want to exclude my music from the backup to keep the size down because I already have it backed up on a separate device. I add my Music folder to the exclude list and the size estimate in the bottom right of the time machine options sheet reflects the exclusion but when the backup starts, the size of the backup is as if the folder was not excluded. How do I make it so that is actually does exclude the folder?

  • Is there any way to remove my hard drive with backup files in it from the exclude these items from backups???

    I currently have a MacBook Air and a 1TB external hard drive, and I run my iPhoto Library from the EHD and as well have TM backup my computer to that same HD. The problem I have is that I don't have a backup of that HD which has all my photos and other media, so If the HD takes a crap I can be in big trouble.
    So what I did is I purchased a new HD (My Cloud from WD) to back up my EHD. While setting everything up I ran into this
    TM included the EHD in the "Exclude these items from backup" list and I can't touch them, and I tried everything. I later found this
    The last sentence of #3 states why I can't.... Since the EHD has a backup file in it, it is excluded.
    So..... Does anybody have any idea of a way around this? Would I have to restart everything and set it up different? Or just have a better and easier way of doing this?? I'll appreciate any help and suggestions.

    What you need, is a dedicated image restauration filter that recognized the regular frequency pattern superimposed onto the prints. You can do this in advanced Image processing packages that let you compute the fourier transform of the image and then suppress or attanuate the frequency bands of the artefact with a band-stop filter.
    But neither Aperture nor PhotoShop have this kind of filter. In Aperture and Photoshop you can only soften the effect by blurring and then exporting a smaller version of the image.
    The algorithm that your scanner uses is probably the best that can be done, even if the resolution is only 100 dpi.
    Do you still have the negatives? Scanning the negatives at a high resolution may give you better results.
