Excluding types with Apache 1.3 WLS Plugin for 8.1

We're running the Apache 1.3 plug in for WLS 8.1
<IfModule mod_weblogic.c>
WebLogicCluster pfate:7000,pfate2:7000
MatchExpression *.jsp
MatchExpression *.do
</IfModule>
<Location /eCMS>
SetHandler weblogic-handler
</Location>
It's my understanding that this should basically only let WLS handle the JSP
and Struts .DO actions.
But, we have other files that all seem to be going to weblogic for
servicing.
Specifically, we have an Apache module that is tied to a different
extension, but that module is not being called if the extension lives within
our "/eCMS" Location.
The module is called for files outside of the /eCMS Location.
Can someone provide some examples on how we can get this integration to
work?
Thanx!

Will Hartung

You don't need the <Location /eMCS> block since you're proxying by mime type. Remove it and you should be ok.

  • CS 2 Problem with getting it to update plugin for Camera Raw

    Hi,
I am feeling a little stupid today as I have to go back and use cs2 because my iMac is broken and I only have cs2 installed on my old powerbook, but as all will know cs2 does not support Nikon D300 raw files and I have tried dragging the update 3.1 into the plugin folders as well as update 3.7 but nothing is helping so I need someone else's help. So help please.

    Hi,
Thanks for the link I am hopeful it is going to help but my problem now is that when I bought CS2 a few years ago I upgraded from PS7 to CS2 and would you believe it when I try to reinstall CS2 it now wants this serial number for PS7 and after so many years I am not sure that I still have this program so now I am stuck between a rock and a hard place. When I purchased the upgrade I did register it with Adobe so perhaps someone out there has a suggestion of how to proceed next. It is a blue Monday indeed.

  • Problem with central build of Simple Date Type with Enumeration

    Dear gurus,
I hope I'm posting this in the correct forum. Please advise if I'm in the wrong forum.
I have a Web Dynpro DC in which I've created a simple data type with enumeration.  It is used for binding to a radio box. The data type is called DownloadType; the enumeration contains two vales: current and archive. To allow me to access the enumeration values, I turn on the "Generate a class representation of the enumeration" in the data type builder.
I then reference the enumeration values with code like:
    if (downloadType.equals (DownloadType._CURRENT))
        yada yada yada
This works fine when building locally and deploying directly. But when the DC is built by CBS (or doing a "Development Component->Build..." in NW Dev Studio), the build fails, stating that the DownloadType._CURRENT symbol cannot be resolved.
    For example:
    C:yadayadayada.java:227: cannot resolve symbol
    symbol  : variable _CURRENT
    location: class yadayadayada.DownloadType
                    equals(DownloadType._CURRENT))  {
Apparently the central builder is not smart enough to handle the "Generate a class representation" flag.
Is this a known problem? Are there any workarounds?
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

  • Flash plugin for Firefox: 2, 3 speed audio?

    Hi all,
I am having problem with audio using the flash plugin for Firefox.  The video

    funy.
    Here is the address:

Anybody else had this problem before?

its playing in the background right now and sounds fine.  Motion is a little jerky but acceptable.
using the 2.6.16 kernel from testing firefox from current over a DSL line.

  • Intermittent problem with weblogic plugin for Apache

    Env: hpux11, wls 4.5.2 w/sp1, apache 1.3.12.1
I am using Apache as the proxy for servlets. Apache serves all static content html/gifs.
The servlet request is forwarded to weblogic, and the servlet forwards the request to a jsp which responds with html output. Using IE 5, sometimes the images and html show up properly, other times the html code/tags is displayed. Using Netscape, the page does not display at all when the error occurs, otherwise it displays fine.
The problem occurs when refreshing the same page.
The errant display is HTML code/tags like:

  • Looking to pass a "root" request to a WL server with Apache plugin

Anyone know of a way to disclude a URL from the <Location> directive? I'm
using the Apache plugin and would like to pass all requests through to the
WL server except the images (which can be identified either by extension or
by location (/images)). I want a request for http://apacheserver/ to get
passed to the WL server and execute some default servlet. However... if I
use <Location /> to pass this through... everything else will get passed
    through, even my image requests.
    Any ideas?

    Thanks for the help.
    Two location directives:
    <Location /myApp> and
    <Location /myImages>
would end up passing my images request through to WL, no?
The way I have it set up now, I have one tag:
    <Location /myApp>
which (obviously) passes the /myApp/* requests to WL. This is good...
any other request such as /images/myimage.gif stays on the web server. The
    only problem is that
the initial hit to the site (www.mycompany.com) does not get passed through
    and
I need it to map to a servlet on the WL server, without disrupting the flow
    of a
/images/* request.. I have no images on the WL server.

Have your application reside at /myApp and images in /myImages. Then two
    <Location> stanzas,
one for /myApp and one for /myImages will do what you want. I have an
    open case with support
where I wanted /myApp/myImages and /myApp to resolve in the order the
    <Location> directives
were found in httpd.conf, in much the same way you can have / and
    /images with
Apache handling /images and WLS handing / . The case is still open and
    the workaround is
described in the first sentence of this paragraph :)

    Hi,
I've spent couple of days without success trying to configure apache plugin for weblogic. I've configured in accordance with bea documentation and it works fine in windows environment but fails in Solaris 9.

    I'm using Weblogic 8.1 SP2, single server.

Yes it is IBM Http Server, but it works fine from Windows accessing the same weblogic server I'm trying to connect from Solaris.
I see 500 error in the apache access log file.
I've also tried with by setting "MaxRequestsPerChild" to 0 in the apache config file but no good.
Please find below httpd.conf file content.
    ==============httpd.conf===============
    ServerName eus0000168.eu.verio.net
    # Based upon the NCSA server configuration files originally by Rob McCool.
    # This is the main Apache server configuration file. It contains the
    # configuration directives that give the server its instructions.
    # See <URL:http://httpd.apache.org/docs-2.0/> for detailed information about
    # the directives.
    # Do NOT simply read the instructions in here without understanding
    # what they do. They're here only as hints or reminders. If you are unsure
    # consult the online docs. You have been warned.
    # The configuration directives are grouped into three basic sections:
    # 1. Directives that control the operation of the Apache server process as a
    # whole (the 'global environment').
    # 2. Directives that define the parameters of the 'main' or 'default' server,
    # which responds to requests that aren't handled by a virtual host.
    # These directives also provide default values for the settings
    # of all virtual hosts.
    # 3. Settings for virtual hosts, which allow Web requests to be sent to
    # different IP addresses or hostnames and have them handled by the
    # same Apache server process.
    # Configuration and logfile names: If the filenames you specify for many
    # of the server's control files begin with "/" (or "drive:/" for Win32), the
    # server will use that explicit path. If the filenames do not begin
    # with "/", the value of ServerRoot is prepended -- so "logs/foo.log"
    # with ServerRoot set to "/opt/IBMIHS" will be interpreted by the
    # server as "/opt/IBMIHS/logs/foo.log".
    ### Section 1: Global Environment
    # The directives in this section affect the overall operation of Apache,
    # such as the number of concurrent requests it can handle or where it
    # can find its configuration files.
    # ServerRoot: The top of the directory tree under which the server's
    # configuration, error, and log files are kept.
    # NOTE! If you intend to place this on an NFS (or otherwise network)
    # mounted filesystem then please read the LockFile documentation (available
    # at <URL:http://httpd.apache.org/docs-2.0/mod/mpm_common.html#lockfile>);
    # you will save yourself a lot of trouble.
    # Do NOT add a slash at the end of the directory path.
    ServerRoot "/opt/IBMIHS"
    # The accept serialization lock file MUST BE STORED ON A LOCAL DISK.
    #LockFile logs/accept.lock
    # PidFile: The file in which the server should record its process
    # identification number when it starts.
    PidFile logs/httpd.pid
    # Timeout: The number of seconds before receives and sends time out.
    Timeout 300
    # KeepAlive: Whether or not to allow persistent connections (more than
    # one request per connection). Set to "Off" to deactivate.
    KeepAlive On
    # MaxKeepAliveRequests: The maximum number of requests to allow
    # during a persistent connection. Set to 0 to allow an unlimited amount.
    # We recommend you leave this number high, for maximum performance.
    MaxKeepAliveRequests 100
    # KeepAliveTimeout: Number of seconds to wait for the next request from the
    # same client on the same connection.
    KeepAliveTimeout 10
    ## Server-Pool Size Regulation (MPM specific)
    # worker MPM
    # ThreadLimit: maximum setting of ThreadsPerChild

    # The directives in this section set up the values used by the 'main'
    # server, which responds to any requests that aren't handled by a
    # <VirtualHost> definition. These values also provide defaults for
    # any <VirtualHost> containers you may define later in the file.
    # All of these directives may appear inside <VirtualHost> containers,
    # in which case these default settings will be overridden for the
    # virtual host being defined.
    # If you wish httpd to run as a different user or group, you must run

    # . On HPUX you may not be able to use shared memory as nobody, and the
    # suggested workaround is to create a user www and use that user.
    # NOTE that some kernels refuse to setgid(Group) or semctl(IPC_SET)

    Hi,

    Hi, Micheal,
Thank you very much. I found them. They are all *.dll files. I seems to
have the impression that BEA support both NT and solaris. Keep looking
I also found a file called libproxy.so in the weblogic/lib/solaris

    install?

After research by Oracle Support it actually turns out that this problem was a combination of factors:
    1) some clients were effectively using an invalid certificate so it is corrrect they got an error and everything worked fine when they started using the right certificate
    2) it does, however, turn out that, in the case of an error the error handling has been obfuscated in WLS 10.3.6 as compared to WLS 10.3.4 which gives a more descriptive error stating the nature of the problem (missing certificate, invalid certificate, unknown user, ...). Apparently this was deemed a security issue and has thus been replaced by a generic "internal server error". It is however possible to re-activate this older behaviour using a couple of JAVA_OPTS that you pass during server startup:
    -Dweblogic.wsee.security.debug=true -Dweblogic.wsee.security.verbose=true
The above reintroduced the behaviour we had in WLS 10.3.4 and thus solves our problem!

    Wed Mar 20 22:04:59 2013 <5072513638098992299> request [****] did NOT process successfully..................

We were able to avoid the PROTOCOL_ERROR by turning off the connection pooling in obj.conf (KeepAliveEnabled="false"). We're using Weblogic 8.1.5 and testing on 8.1.6, where the error still seems to exist. This issue is only occuring with IE 6 & 7 with pooled connections. FireFox doesn't seem to have any issues with the pooled connections at all. This is not an optimal workaround for us when we go to production because of the likely performance implications turning off the pooling will have.
I can't see anything in the request headers coming from the two different browsers that looks conspicuous...they're almost identical. Is there any kind of user agent specific processing going on in the plugin that could be causing something like this?

  • Integration with Apache on NT

    Hi All,
I noticed that there is an Apache plugin for WebLogic 5.1, but it is only
for Apache running on Solaris. Has anyone successfully integrated Apache
running on NT with WebLogic 5.1 running on NT? Also, has anyone
successfully integrated Apache running on NT with WebLogic 4.5.1 running on
              NT? If so, how?!?
              Thanks!
              Elaine

Ideally, we would love to do so. However, there are two major reasons why
we cannot release the source code. These are:
1 ) supportability: It is very difficult to support our product like
Weblogic because it is a development platform. It makes for a support
nightmare on occasions when we are not certain what exact code our customers
are running. Providing the source code to the proxy plug-ins could make
solving customer issues very difficult when customers modify the source code
              and recompile.
2 ) trade secrets: Our company has invested much effort in research and
development for these plug-ins. Unfortunately, our competitors can easily
steal away our investment if we provide the source code to our plug-ins
              publicly or distribute them widely.
There are instances in which we might be able to provide the source code.
However, we typically do not do it as a policy. You should contact your
account manager to further discuss the situation.
              Thanks, Michael

  • Integarte Weblogic with Apache on Windows

    Hi guys,
Did any one integrate Weblogic server with Apache?
I tried but portal home page takes a lot of time to load.
    I don't know why?
If any one tried this can you let me the know the steps or URL from where I can get info?
    Thanks!

  • Svn with Apache Timeout issue

    Hello Archers,
I've set up an svn Server with Apache folloing your wiki on my raspberry pi.
    https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/LAMP
    https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Subversion_Setup
Unfortunately I get errors when I try to commit several files (15 or so). I think it is a timeout issue, however I don't know where to specify the timeout in the httpd.conf (or httpd-ssl.conf)
This is a client error message:
    Commit failed (details follow):
    Unexpected end of svndiff Input
And this the corresponding server side log:
[date] [dav:error] [pid 448:tid 2854220848] (70007)The timeout specified has expired: [client 192.168.178.55:63819] Timeout reading the body (URI: /Dokumente/!svn/txr/9-q/Music/myfile.mp3) [408, #0]

I assume it is some error like this: http://subversion.apache.org/faq.html#s … -truncated
I think I don't have specified the timeouts correctly, since I haven't found the default option.
    tl:dr
Do you know how to set the timeouts in the apache configuration file?
I very much appreciate your help.

Here are my configuration Files with my position for the timeout order:
    httpd-ssl.conf:

    # is available. This means you then cannot use the /dev/random device
    # because it would lead to very long connection times (as long as
    # it requires to make more entropy available). But usually those
    # platforms additionally provide a /dev/urandom device which doesn't

    # o FakeBasicAuth:
    # Translate the client X.509 into a Basic Authorisation. This means that
    # the standard Auth/DBMAuth methods can be used for access control. The
    # user name is the `one line' version of the client's X.509 certificate.
    # Note that no password is obtained from the user. Every entry in the user
    # file needs this password: `xxj31ZMTZzkVA'.
    # o ExportCertData:
    # This exports two additional environment variables: SSL_CLIENT_CERT and
    # SSL_SERVER_CERT. These contain the PEM-encoded certificates of the
    # server (always existing) and the client (only existing when client
    # authentication is used). This can be used to import the certificates
    # into CGI scripts.
    # o StdEnvVars:
    # This exports the standard SSL/TLS related `SSL_*' environment variables.
    # Per default this exportation is switched off for performance reasons,
    # because the extraction step is an expensive operation and is usually
    # useless for serving static content. So one usually enables the
    # exportation for CGI and SSI requests only.
    # o StrictRequire:
    # This denies access when "SSLRequireSSL" or "SSLRequire" applied even
    # under a "Satisfy any" situation, i.e. when it applies access is denied
    # and no other module can change it.
    # o OptRenegotiate:

    # The safe and default but still SSL/TLS standard compliant shutdown
    # approach is that mod_ssl sends the close notify alert but doesn't wait for

    # approach you can use one of the following variables:
    # o ssl-unclean-shutdown:
    # This forces an unclean shutdown when the connection is closed, i.e. no
    # SSL close notify alert is sent or allowed to be received. This violates
    # the SSL/TLS standard but is needed for some brain-dead browsers. Use
    # this when you receive I/O errors because of the standard approach where
    # mod_ssl sends the close notify alert.
    # o ssl-accurate-shutdown:
    # This forces an accurate shutdown when the connection is closed, i.e. a
    # SSL close notify alert is send and mod_ssl waits for the close notify
    # alert of the client. This is 100% SSL/TLS standard compliant, but in
    # practice often causes hanging connections with brain-dead browsers. Use
    # this only for browsers where you know that their SSL implementation
    # works correctly.
    # Notice: Most problems of broken clients are also related to the HTTP
    # keep-alive facility, so you usually additionally want to disable
    # keep-alive for those clients, too. Use variable "nokeepalive" for this.
    # Similarly, one has to force some clients to use HTTP/1.0 to workaround
    # their broken HTTP/1.1 implementation. Use variables "downgrade-1.0" and
    # "force-response-1.0" for this.
