• Execute query. Not all records retrieved.

Hi everyone.
I have made a screen with the data block and layout wizzards.
When I click on the default toolbar "Execute query" it brings only 68 records and there are about 25,000!.
I have a botton which displays a LOV of the same table and the LOV is working well, it brings all the records in the table.
Any idea ???
Thanks!

If you go to the bottom of the query, does
it get the next set of records??
Oracle forms buffers the records it gets
based upon the number of records buffered
in the "block properties".
Go to block properties. Look at Number of
records buffered. If you want it to get
ALL records. Set the Query ALL records switch
to "Yes". Try it again.
Hopefully this helps.

• Query for next record in a multiple records display

Hi. I have a text item whose data block displays 10 records after post query. I want to put a query on the keyboard up and down button so that when i press the up or down arrow of the keyboard, the cursor moves to the next record and executes the post query trigger. I tried using the next_record command but the cursor remains on the first record and then tries to create a new record there instead of moving to the next record outputted by the initial post query trigger. I hope you get my point. Thanks

Hi,

I tried using the next_record command but the cursor remains on the first record and then tries to create a new record there instead of moving to the next record outputted by the initial post query trigger. I hope you get my point. You do not have to query again for moving cursor up and down. You have to use KEY-UP and KEY-DOWN with NEXT_RECORD and PREVIOUS_RECORD built-ins. Use FIRST_RECORD and LAST_RECORD for boundary conditions.

• A good solution to set the actual data record after execute query ..

Hi,
in my Form there is a block on a temporary table.
The user can add query results and wishes to save the last data focus on the last actual record before the execute query to restore this focus after the query.
Is there a robust and fast solution to save the
actual data focus - execute_query - restore the saved focus ?
Thanks
Friedhold

Here is a simple solution to try:
Create a package specification in your form: Package P0 is
Save_rowid varchar2(30);
Found_rec number;
End;Create a Key-Entqry trigger on your block: P0.save_rowid := :Myblock.rowid;
P0.Found_rec := null;
Enter_Query;Create a Post-Query trigger on the block: If :Myblock.rowid = P0.save_rowid then
P0.found_rec := :system.trigger_record;
End if;Create a Key-Exeqry trigger on the block: Execute_Query;
If P0.found_rec is not null then
Go_record(P0.found_rec;
End if;

• Moving to current record after execute query

Hi all,
I have a form where i can list all db jobs which can be start or stop.
for more details, form is having columns like jobs, current db status, action(start/stop drop down)
The user will view list of jobs in the screen and he straightly goes to a record and start (submit) the job using drop down for that record.
once they start/stop the job, execute query will fire to show the current status of the job.
Now going to my requirement,after execute query, I want to go to the record (job) which user has started the job .
Currently the cursor will go to first record.
Is there any oracle 10g AS property where i can get current record , put it in parameter and go to that record after execute query?
Is there any other way?
Regards,
Leonard

Hello,
If you are sure the record after query will keep the same position, you can before, store the current record in a number variable with Get_Block_Property( CURRENT_RECORD) built-in, then after query use the Go_Record() with stored number variable in parameter.
If you think that after re-query the record number can change, you have to loop through your records, then stop navidation while you find the corresponding key.

Hi,
This query should be fine:
SELECT DISTINCT t2.gs_i_id, pms_comp, t2.gs_i_code,
TO_CHAR
(MIN (pms_perf_d) OVER (PARTITION BY pms_comp, pms_i),

) gs_wt_to,
pms_wt / 100 gs_i_calc
FROM dev_wt t1, dev_map t2
WHERE t2.gs_code = t1.pms_iREM Same remark as odie: should be "2231" instead ...

• How to cancel a query when execute query builtin fire and No Records found.

Hi,
I am unable to cancel a query when i make query (fire enter-query) then fire (execute-query) and no records found then the form status is enter-query mode. Plz help me that how can i back to normal mode of form.
here i use the code for coming back to enter-query to normal mode but no results.
if :system.mode = 'ENTER-QUERY' THEN
ABORT_QUERY;
clear_form;
END IF;
thanks in advance....

Hello,
I would test the record status of the first record in the block. If this status is 'NEW', then there is no record retrieved, so that you can exit the query mode with exit_form()

The way you have it coded now, the user will always be authenticated; the "Login Failed") logic will never happen. There is always a recordset returned from a query (unless an exception is thrown). The recordset may contain 0 or more records. The cursor position in a record set starts before the potential first record. The next() method will return true if there is a first row (or a next record) and false if you are at the end of the recordset. You may want to try the code like this (With the html ommitied for readability):
- Chris
new code
Statement statement =con.createStatement();
ResultSet rs=statement.executeQuery("select * from Login where
userid="+ userid + "and passwd="+passwd);
if(rs.next()==false)
// Login failed code
else
// Successfull logon code
conn.close();
Old Code
Statement statement =con.createStatement();
ResultSet rs=statement.executeQuery("select * from Login where userid="+ userid + "and passwd="+passwd);
if(rs==null) {
out.println("Enters herer");

• JDBC Driver 11.2.0.1.0 freeze after execute query with order by

Hi,
I have two tables : A and B
The table B has as foreign key the ID from table A.
I'm executing statment select id, foreing_id, name from table b order by foreing_id;
After executing query I see on database that query remains inactive and I don't receive any response on my client.
I've activate the oracle driver logs and I notice that driver stop working after these lines

I'm using linux machine to execute this query, and I tried execute this same application in another linux machine and the query works.
It's very strange, for instance, this only happens if I have two records on table B using the id from table A, and also happens if only one record from table A.
Could someone help me what's going on with oracle driver?

After line: Dec 27, 2012 11:33:38 AM oracle.jdbc.driver.DBConversion getNCharSetId TRACE_16: Exit the driver freeze.
I can see on DB that query keep INACTIVE and oracle driver doesn't throws any exception.
My Oracle version is 11.2.0.1.0 and as well as oracle driver, I also tried use the version 11.2.0.3.0 but the problem persists.
More facts:
If I remove or replace by another field the clause order by TABLE_A_ID from query the query works.
In this case, I have two recods on TABLE_B with TABLE_A_ID equals 2, if I remove one of these records the query works.
The bug happens only one specific machine where the number of routers is bigger than another machine that works with all possible scenarios.

• Urgent help please ! Get data after executing query

Hi all
I have stored some data's with labVIEW to mysql by writing query using db tools execute query.vi.
For fetching those data's also wrote a query(select* from....)using the same tool .
the query got executed . What tool i have to use to retrieve the data from mysql to a labview array.( the fetch recordset data.vi tool is not fetching.)
Thanks

First, make sure your query string is correct, no typos, the table and fields exist. If all of this is correct, try using Fetch Next Recordset instead of Fetch Recordset. I've had to do that with some databases. For some reason, the record pointer doesn't advance with the query. Or maybe the record pointer is pointing to empty space and the query places the record found as the next record instead of the current record.

• When-Validate-Item and Go_Block/Execute Query dilemma

Hey there folks -- Probably not a surprise question on this forum. I did try to search for this and came up with a few posts but did not find any solutions. Hopefully, I was also doing the correct way to search on this forum. If this is a post for the nth time on this issue, I apologize.
So, I have 2 blocks:
1. Control Block that contains the STUDENT_ID field (Database Item = 'N')
2. Database block that contains the STUDENT_ID field (Database Item = 'Y' and many other fields)
My goal is do an Execute_Query if User enters the Student ID and either presses TAB or places the MOUSE in the database block and display the record if it exists. As we know, a Go_Block is not allowed in When-Validate-Item. So, I went one step further to "simulate" this. The problem is that I am still firing the Execute-Query when the record has already been retrieved. Here is what I have so far. So, the Key-Next-Item trigger works fine if User enters a Student ID and presses tab. It also works fine if User clicks on the STUDENT_BK as the When-New-Block-Instance trigger fires which in turn calls the Key-Next-Item. The problem occurs when after record has been retrieved and User clicks on control.student_id and then comes and clicks on the STUDENT_BK, the KEY-NEXT-ITEM trigger fires again.
Suggestions or pointers would be more than welcome.
Thanks!
CONTROL.student_id.Key-Next-Item
if :control.student_id is not null and :SYSTEM.BLOCK_STATUS != 'CHANGED' then
next_block;
clear_block(NO_COMMIT);
execute_query;
else
show_alert('Please enter Student ID');
end if;
STUDENT_BK.When-New-Block-Instance
go_item('control.student_id');
do_key('next_item');

Yeah... I wrote before I tried it out. The GET_ITEM_PROPERTY('ITEM', previousitem) didn't work the way I thought it did. After I posted that, I tried it out and it was a complete failure.
I guess what I am thinking now, is in your STUDENT_BK block, do you only want to EXECUTE_QUERY if the :STUDENT_ID does not match the :CONTROL.STUDENT_ID? If that is true, then all you would have to do is to change your KEY-NEXT logic to include the
if STUDENT_BK.STUDENT_ID != :CONTROL.STUDENT_ID then
-- original logic
go_item('control.student_id');
do_key('next_item');
end if;The more I think about it, this should work for you. You said that you had two requirements: Entered a student id in the control block and tabbed or entered the database block. If you add the check of the student id then that should take care of your second requirement. If they enter the database block and the id's don't match then it will execute the query, else they already have the record displayed for them so you don't need to do anything.

• Conditional Sum and look at next record

First off, here is an example XML structure
<DATASET>
<DATASET_ROW>
<DEPARTMENT>1</DEPARTMENT>
<FEE>30</FEE>

<DIVISION>Displayed Title 5</DIVISION>
</DATASET_ROW>
<DATASET_ROW>
<DEPARTMENT>2</DEPARTMENT>
<FEE>80</FEE>
<DIVISION>Displayed Title 6</DIVISION>
</DATASET_ROW>
<DATASET_ROW>
<DEPARTMENT>3</DEPARTMENT>
<FEE>90</FEE>
<DIVISION>Displayed Title 7</DIVISION>
</DATASET_ROW>
<DATASET_ROW>
<DEPARTMENT>3</DEPARTMENT>
<FEE>90</FEE>
<DIVISION>Displayed Title 8</DIVISION>
</DATASET_ROW>
<DATASET_ROW>
<DEPARTMENT>4</DEPARTMENT>
<FEE>30</FEE>

</DATASET_ROW>
</DATASET>
Is there any way to get a sum of a field grouped by two different fields? Example in my RTF I have a repeating group based on DIVISION which inserts section breaks. Using the example I have posted here what I have in my RTF template is a sum of FEE (assume there are multiple records for DIVISION though only 1 is shown here) that displays on every page for the current group. Each DIVISION is printed on its own page. However, at the end of each DEPARTMENT, I also need to print a summary total of the sum of FEE over all records for that DEPARTMENT on the same page as the last page of the last DIVISION.
So far, I have been able to get it to do the subtotals for each DEPARTMENT as they are within the scope of my loop. The tricky part I am unsure of how best to go about doing is getting and displaying the conditional grand total. My initial idea was to use a variable and do it manually in my template but then I relaized I did not know how to find out if the next record was the first record in the next Department or not. In this case, I am hoping to stick within the realm of using straight SQL Query as my datasource because its already done. The other option I considered was nested loops and a data template but then I realized that I wasn't too sure about manually inserting the section breaks.
Any thoughts?

Yes, you can do that,
Pass me the template and XML :)
<?if:position() = last()?>
Last Record
<? end if ?>
then display the sub-total for department at the last division.
This link , gives you idea of , how to display at the last
http://blogs.oracle.com/xmlpublisher/2008/08/continued.html
Use
xdofo:inline-total display-condition="last"

• 5200 : Error in executing query -- Hyperion Financial Reporting

Problem in accessing the Hyperion Financial Reports.User is having full access and able to access all the folders except one folder(Legal Folder reports). We are getting 5200: Error Executing the query error. Recently we have upgraded Hyperion to 11.1.1.3 version . Before upgrade user is not facing the problem. After Upgrade user is getting these errors while accessing the reports. we did research and found in "Error 5200: Error Executing Query" When Viewing Financial Reporting (FR) Reports". Is this error is relevant to the Information provided in Metalink and also can you please tell us is there any impact on doing the solution provided in the below. Why is this error is coming is any preferences needs to be changed.Please help us on this.
Error Description:
5200: Error executing query
Servername/ApplicationName/DatabaseName/Error(1007090) Unknown Member name [Current Point of view for years] in Outline Query
Doc ID 1107142.1:
Possible Cause 1:
If members have recently been added, moved, or deleted from the data source, Essbase, HFM, or Planning, the existing User POV records become out of sync.
The User Point of View record uses indexing to identify the member. If the index changes because of changes in the outline, the User Point of View record no longer points to the correct location in the outline.
To resolve the issue, you need to run the ManageUserPOV utility on a Windows server that has the Financial Reporting Reports Server, or in a Unix or Linux environment, has the Financial Reporting Print Server installed.
You will need to provide a BIPlus Global Administrator user ID and password to run the utility.
The utility will provide the correct syntax to run the command.
1. In \Hyperion\products\biplus\bin\ManageUserPOV.properties, specify the following parameters:
a. ReportServer
b. DatasourceUser
c. DatasourcePassword
d. User
e. Datasource (You can find the datasource in Workspace under Tools>Database Connection Manager in the Name column.)
2. From the command line, cd to Hyerion\products\biplus\bin
3. Type in "ManageUserPOV" without the quotes. The executable will read the parameters previously set in the ManageUserPOV.properties file.
Thanks,

I'm working on FR-11.1.1.3.0238 version. i'm facing issues with some of the reports related to planning application db while launching reports in workspace. Where as the reports are opening with out any issues in FR studio and there is no error message recorded in the studio.The error message is recorded in the workspace related log file.
I thought that there might be any pov corruption issue so i ran the ManageUserPov utility as well but there is no luck.

Neeraj,
In the FR report server the settings are as you suggested except the TcpTimedWaitDelay = 60, this setting is set to 30.
The same settings are there in Essbase and Planning servers.
So i would like to know what exactly is all about the setting and the possible cause of the problem. It would be very helpful if i can get the cause.
Thanks in advance
