You can customize
via
SPRO>Logistics - General>Material Master>Field Selection>
first from
Assign Fields to Field Selection Groups
you must assign MARC-EKGRP (Purchasing Group)
to a selection Group which will be mandatory.
Then from Maintain Field Selection for Data Screens
you must choose the Material Types which you want to make
Purchasing Group mandatory.
You must check Reqd Entry for the material types you want

Screen Exit for MM01 Material Creation

Hi,
The requirement is to add 2 new field in the Material Creation transaction (MM01) in the General Plant / Storage Location View.
I was trying to find the Screen exit in the MGA Package but there was no screen exit for material. So, i tried by SPRO- IMG, iam able to attach my designed screen and its viewable in MM01 but the data is not being updated in the relevant table for the custom fields (The custom fields are appended in the MARC table).
So, can you please help me about the coding part for the updation of the custom field data.

Hi Bhasker
Go to Se18 Tcode
and give the definition name is "DOCUMENT_MAIN01"
check the definition in display mode because it is Sap Standard Definition.
there you will find a "TYPE" Tab
under this you have two check boxes
1) Multiple Use
2) Filter-Depend
if you want multiple implementations check this Check box
after this you need to create a request and the system asks Access Key for Changes
for that you will catch that Key from your Basis Team.

You need to use the BAPI 'BAPI_OBJCL_CREATE' to create characteristics for a material.
The characteristics are need to be passed in the table ALLOCVALUESCHAR.
If you do not know the values for a particular characteristics then you canmake use of FM
BAPI_CLASS_GET_CHARACTERISTICS and BAPI_CHARACT_GETDETAIL to get the values.

my question is i have created overwrite exit for method of component controller in one enhancement implementaion say ENH1, and i also created overwrite exit for same method in another enhancement implemenation say ENH2, it means i have two different implemenations now,
My questions here is, will both Enhancement implemenations will "execute", if yes in what order..

I'm afraid the information that Manas gave you is incorrect. In an overwrite method, the enhancement completely overrides and replaces the original method. Both versions are NOT executed. This is the risk you run with the Overwrite enhancement - you are choosing to completely replace the SAP delivered logic.
From the Online Help:
The overwrite exit method takes on the signature of the original method and overwrites it. This means that an overwrite exit is executed instead of the original method.
At runtime only one overwrite exit can be active. If several overwrite exits are active, a runtime error occurs.

Screen exit for MM01 to add additional fields to basic data tab .

We are working on the SAP version ECC 5.0 . Our requirement is to add additional fields to the general data section of the basic data1 tab for the tcode MM01 . I have gone through many previous queries in SDN but not able to figure out what exactly the process should be . All I could figure out is to start the process from appending the structure to MARA for the additional fields . Then follow the steps in the SPRO .
Define Structure of Data Screens for Each Screen Sequence
Assign Secondary Screens
Maintain Order of Main and Additional Screens
Assign Screen Sequences to User/Material Type/Transaction/In
Define How Maintenance Statuses Are Determined in Data Trans
Create Program for Customized Subscreens
I am not able to comprehend what we are trying to do in these steps .
Can anyone explain me in detail what we are trying to do in the whole process ?

Hi varun,
Create the append structure on the MARA table.
The SAP note 44410 describes how to add the new fields to the screen and how the updating will work.
1.     Make a copy of function group MGD1to ZMGDI as stated inthe Ossnote using program COPYMGDI.
2.             Goto Se38 enter program name SAPLZMGDI Click Display and goto> program-> other object---> enter screen number '0001' and add your fields to the subscreen which should apper on the the general data section of the basic data1 tab for the tcode MM01
2.     Make the changes stated in SAP Note.
3.     After make the changes the functional analyst will need to make some configuration changes.
4.     SPRO -> Logistic General -> Material Master -> Configuring Materal Master -> Define Structure of Data Screens Sequence.
5.     Select SSq = 21 then click on Subscreens select Basic DATA1
6.     Enter in the new screens that were built
7.     Change the row that was create putting in the program (function group program) that was created in step 2.

Urgent Help in User-Exit for MM!

Hi,
1. I am writing code in the Exit "EXIT_SAPLMGMU_001".
2. I have to pop-up error/warning messages for incorrect data entered in various fields/screens/views of MM01/MM02 transaction.
3. The Exit gets triggered when i press "SAVE" after modification.
4. When I create the Classification View, i enter the class type as "001" for material class.
5. Then i need to enter a value "Z_Product" in the class column(on the screen in classification view). This class is the "Product Class" (description).
 My problem is to find this value that i enter on screen before "Save" i.e. when i am creating material for the first time in MM01, i dont want the error message to pop-up if i am entering any value in the class column and also entering values in the internal characteristics for that class.
 Basically i want to read the values (before "SAVe") entered in the class column as well as want to know the values for the internal characteristics of the class.
 For Class, the std. field is "RMCLF-Class" , but i have no buffer field available in my exit that contains the value for the Class. I have also tried using "Get parameter ID", but it doesnt work.
 For Internal Characteristic values (of the class) that are entered in the tab(that appears on pressing "Enter" after filling the Class value) below the Class tab, i am fetching data from std. table AUSP to check for corresponding entries for that particular material number....but this table will get updated only after "SAVE" and so i would be able to read the values only in MM02.
Please help me in finding out a way for reading the class values & Characteristic values in my user-exit.

Hi Ronak.
You can try with 'EXIT_SAPLCLFM_002' (CLFM0002). This is the exit for the classification view. You can get this for the transaction CL22N / CL24N.
This is also called in MM01 for classification values. This classification details are cross application components. So This is also called from other transaction.

goto SPRO and check for the project name which can be searched using F4 help...If any project component has screen exit FM u can use it...
Adding Views in Material Master
I am trying to add views using MM02. It is showing me just 3 views ...BASIC DATA1, BASIC DATA2 & CLASSIFICATION..... I want to add other views but am not able to do it.
There are 2 ways to add views to the existing material master:
1. Go to mm01
    - Enter the material for which you want to add the views.
    - Then you enter the same material in copy from material
    - Then you may find all the view
    - Then select the views you want to add and make entries in the same view and save it
    All this is done in mm01.
or
    You can mass extend views for a material in tcode mm50.
    Select the maintenance status as V for e.g. if you want to add views of sales. *-- Chirag
2. If the default setting is done in the material of the material type then you may not find the new views in mm01
    If that is the case, then you go to spro >> log general >> mat master >> basic sett >> material types >>
    define attributes of materisl types.
    - Select material type of the material in which you want to make the change
    - Double click on the same, then on right hand side, you will find user parameters under which you will find the views
    - Select the view you want and save your settings
    - Then go to mm01 and do the way it is mentioned in the first step.

BP is BDT (Business Data toolset) enabled (you can check it by adding break point in FM BUS_PBO and executing BP transaction). You can add your check directly to standard view (the check will be executed each time when user pushes enter) or you could add you check to appropriate action (during saving etc.) there are number of actions which you could use it depends on your requirements. You can find a lot of info about BDT (if you are not familiar) in Wiki.

Hear is the complete ticket which i got from the client.
1. User exit in Program MV45AFZZ
User Exit Name : USEREXIT_MOVE_FIELD_TO_VBKD.
create an include first - and then add the statements to that include..
this way when there is a patch or an upgrade - we need to only type the include statement and not the extire userexit.
2. External Table Specifications:
the table is client dependent
table name: zpaymentterm.
client(keyfield)-mandt
sales org(key)vkorg
sales Doc-(key)auart
material Grp-Matkl
cust:kunnr
Payment term (zterm) : ijput field in table maintenance
3. select from the ztable using vbak-vkorg/vbak-auart/vbap-matkl/vbak-kunnr is equal to zztable fields.
move corresponding zztable-zterm to vbkd-zterm.
4. Validations: if no entry found in ztable then payment term from the customer master should be copied in the document.
5. Create the maintenence view for the table and assigned with Transaction Code.
