Exit Function ZUPF_EXCEL* in Web Layout

Hi gurus,
I created an Exit Function based in Standard function "UPF_EXCEL_AFTER_DATA_PUT_01". I put this function in the field 'name of writing module' like explains very good Alberto Sabate in his post (layout in change mode). The functions runs very well in GUI. The problem occurs when I tried to do the same in a Web layout. The function it doesn't works.
I would like to know if this kind of functions it doesn't works in Web or it is a problem of our code or a need a modification in WIB ?.
Another question, it's posible to change the protection of a cell (lock a cell) with this function ? OR this is only posible with a VB Macro ?
Thanks in advanced.
Carlos.

Hi Marc,
Thank You very much for your reply, but now We have a problem ))
I explain our problem ...
We have to control the value of a header characteristic in a layout to fill a table, we have a Hierarchy Variable to control the layout, and this one shows characteristics combinations from Transaction Data. When we navigate ( select another combination) with this header char we have to control the changes of it. All in Web format.
We try with a Standar Exit Function, but in the internal Table XTH_DATA we don't know which is the value of the chararacteristic that layouts shows.
Do you know if there is another exit function that is executed in Web layout with this functionality ?.
Thanks in advanced and Best Regards,
Carlos.

  • Change Data in BPS Layout: Exit Function

    Hello everyone,
We are using BW-BPS and we need to make a sort of a certain characteristic in a Planning Folder. In the specific Planning Folder it was defined an exit function and it was assigned a function module.
    We implement the following code:

      ASSIGN wa_hash_table->* TO <ht_head>.
      <ht_head> = xth_data.

This is the characteristic that we pretend to sort

When execute this function, we get a DUMP (ASSIGN_TYPE_CONFLICT). Does anybody have any suggestion how to change a hash table or somehow make a sort in this hash table?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
After some changes in the code, it seems that xth_data table is assuming the “new content”. In debugging, we could see that the assignment was made and xth_data records are now in a different order. But when executing the BPS Layout assigned to this planning function, all the lines (records) still in the same place. The Layout doesn’t change.
    This is the code:
    FUNCTION Z_ORDENAR_CLASSIFICACAO_PLANO.

      SORT <lt_data> BY (l_sortfield) DESCENDING.
      MOVE <lt_data> TO xth_data.
    ENDFUNCTION.
Does anybody understand this behavior, why the changes in the user-exit are not assumed in the BPS Layout?

  • Display message from exit function on web

    Hi all,
Is there a way to display the output error message from Exit Function on web interface?
    Regards,
    Kadir

    Hi All,
I have a similar problem - but for variable exits.
The solution posted by Kadir works fine for an exit changing xthdata (bps exit function).
I want to display a message in Web created within an bps variable exit. In this case the  solution does not work.
Does anyone of you experts have an idea how to append a message to the message table used for the WebInterface?
Thanks in advance and best regards

  • Web Interface - "Execute function before displaying the layout" issue

    Hi Experts,
In my project we have converted some BPS planning folder to Web interface. The steps are as below:
    1) Open the BPS planning folder using upspm. Copy the web interface as Web Enabled folder.
    2) Generate the web interface by clicking on go to --> Generate web interface
    3) Run transaction bps_wb. Open the web interface. Then generate web interface again
    4) Run the web interface by clicking on 'Display perview'
    5) In the web interface there are some some functions which get executed before displaying the layout.
    6) For such functions, push button gets created.
    7) I have set the visible property of such push button as false.
    8) Most of the time, when I am running the web interface, it
    is getting executed successfully.
    9) Some times, the web interface is not displaying the layouts successfully. In such cases I have observed that "Execute function before displaying the layout" is not working. Due to this some values like Fiscal Year is not getting set. So, the layout is not getting displayed.
    10) I understand that it may be due to compilation error.
For example, I might have made some changes in the web interface. It must be saved and web interface must be regenerated before I diplay the interface again. Can you please help me in understanding the reason of this problem.
    11) Can you please help me understand the cause of point no 9. Is it a non-issue? What may be the reason that "Execute function before displaying the layout" does not work every time.
    Thanks

Will a function that runs, before the data gets saved, work for you? You can configure such a function to run before the save command behind the save button you create in the planning application.

  • Re-executing a function in IP web: buffer problem

    Hello everybody,
we have performed 2 changes to our application:
    1. for performance reasons we replaced a FOX function with an IP exit function and
    2. to limit the number of entires appearing in F4 (000's) in the web application when selecting mater data for filtering we inserted a new InfoObject for the selection with only a few (about 10) master data entries and then passed the variable values to the original infoobject
Both changes work well but there is a nasty side effect.
The INITIAL execution of the query (variable pop-up) and filtering in the web application works fine. The user enters data manually and executes a function performing some caluculations (was FOX, is now an IP exit function).
After this initial execution of the function it is not possible to re-execute the function. If e.g. the user performs a few more manual changes and then tries to execute the function again nothing happens. Only be logging off and on again (i.e. a new session) the user can execute the function again.
Cache mode for the query (in RSRT) is set to 0 (=inactive).
It is obviously a  buffer problem (some sort of delta/plan buffer conflict) and I have had this before but I cannot recall how to solve it ... its the age!
    Grateful for any assistance
Edited by: Martin Helmstein on Nov 10, 2010 11:07 AM
Clarification: if the user repeats inputting data under the INITIAL filter selection state and executes the function again it works. The problem only occurs if the user changes the filters (drop down boxes in the web application), inputs data and attempts to execute the function with this new selection.

    Hi Martin,
One easy way of solving is to include the WAD command TRANSFER_STATE at the end of all the Planning function / Sequence commands attached to the Button.
This will refresh the WAD layout without having to reenter the variable values if any.
The other Option is to reset all the variables associated with the execution of Planning function after every execution.
This can be included under Web template Properties so this happens after every refresh of the layout.
    Hope this helps.
    Regards.
    Shafi.

  • Input Field: Value Range in IP Web Layout

    Hi Experts,
I've created a Web Layout based on IP with a copy function (e.g. from actual 2008 to plan2009) over 12 calendar months. For choosing the months to be copied, I created a Variable (calmonths) and added an Input Field into my layout to enter the the months to be copied. I referred the variable to the input field and it's working...
When I want to select several months to be copied, I can type in " 1; 2; 3; " into the input field, execute the planning function and only month 1, 2, 3 (i.e. Jan, Feb, Mar) are being copied. But when I want to copy all 12 months, i have to enter 1; 2; 3; 4;...11; 12 which is kind of anoying! Has somebody some experience whether I can use a value range like 1-12 (or something like that) to avoid entering all the months individually? (I tried 1-12; 1- 12; 1 - 12; 1:12 etc but nothing like this is working)
It would be very helpful if someone has an idea
    All the best,
    Norbert

    Hi Mayank, hi Srinivas.
Thanks a lot for your valuable input! Unfortunately I was not able until today to test your recommodations.
I tried your Interval variable but then faced the problem that I cannot enter multiple months anymore (e.g. 5 - 8 worked, 1; 3; 5 not).  Then I inserted both variables, multiple values & interval, into the planning function as well as in the button group in WAD for executing the PF but was not able to execute the following example: 1; 8; 4 - 6. After trying out for some time I figured out that one has to type in the figures in the following order: 4 - 6; 1; 8. Only then I am able to execute the planning function for the months April-June & Jan & August. So, if you're facing the same problem in the future, maybe you have the solution
    Best regards,
    Norbert

  • How to acheive Pagination and Dynamic sorting in Web layout.

    Hi All,
I'm new to Oracle Reports. I use Report Builder 10.1.2.0.2.
I tried creating a template for simple tabular report. I modified the tempalte for Paper layout, Web layout ie modified .tdf, html, css files.
When the data is dispalyed in the web browser, i need to do Pagination and dynamic sorting (ie when the column heading is clicked, it needs to do sorting by that column).
In the jsp page of the report, it is possible but i want to incorporate this functionality in the Template. So that a single template can be used across multiple reprots with out any modification.
Can any one please tell me how to do this.
Please reply me at the earliest. Its very urgent.
    Thanks & Regards,
    P. Gayathri Devi

    Igor,
You'll need to switch from using Partial Page Rendering to full page submits on that report. In version 4.0 we should be getting more control over event handling in PPRs but to what extent is still unknown.

  • Working with line feed, carriege return, tab etc in JSP web layout

    Hi guys,
After looking at an old thread
line feed, carriege return, tab etc in JSP web layout
I think I am experiencing the same problem here and I'm struggling to implement the solution, mainly because I am a complete newbie at jsp reports (and most things webby).
    1) Can I add the code following code directly to the web source? If not then how do I find the css file being used?
    table pre {
overflow-x: auto; /* Use horizontal scroller if needed; for Firefox 2, not needed in Firefox 3 */
    white-space: pre-wrap; /* css-3 */
    white-space: -moz-pre-wrap !important; /* Mozilla, since 1999 */
    /* width: 99%; */
    word-wrap: break-word; /* Internet Explorer 5.5+ */
    2) I'm not sure how to set the width to be same as the width of the table cell.
Here's the web source and thanks very much in advance!

The solution in the original post was:
    set the
width to be same as the width of the table cell
add following class to css file
    table pre {
overflow-x: auto; /* Use horizontal scroller if needed; for Firefox 2, not needed in Firefox 3 */
    white-space: pre-wrap; /* css-3 */
    white-space: -moz-pre-wrap !important; /* Mozilla, since 1999 */
    /* width: 99%; */
    word-wrap: break-word; /* Internet Explorer 5.5+ */
But I dont have a css file ... can I just add this to the web source and if so where?

  • Performance Problems with Web Layouts in web interface

    Hello Gurus,
We have a a BPS web interface tool which has the following design:
1> A web interface with several tabs
2> Each tab has around 3-4 input layouts which are dependent on each other
3> In all there are 120-140 layouts that the tool uses...
My questions were in term of performance
1> Is there a limit to how many web layouts you can use per page/tab/view or if SAP recommends specific number of web layouts per page/tab/view ?
2> If there is a limitation...our intention was to convert all the display layouts into BW reports so as to increase the performance of the tool....
3> Would like to know the restriction on the number of users who can log into the tool as a specific point of time ? We may have 50-60 minimum using this tool.
I would appreciate your help in this regard.
    Thanks in advance

  • Reading Data From a Different Planning Package in a Exit Function

    Hi,
Is it possible to read data from a planning level / package other than the package that the exit function was executed with?  I want to read data into an internal table from another package and use that data in combination with the data in the current package to create new records.  If this is possible sample code for how to read data from a different package would be appreciated.
    Thanks!
    Mel Waldner

    Hi,
As an example lets say you have restricted 0calmonth in your package to 6.2007. In the planning layout to fetch values for 5.2007 (read only), you can take 0calmonth in data columns, and for this column restrict it as 5.2007.
Similarly in Planning functions, you can mark 0calmonth as field to be changed and fetch data for 5.2007.
    Hope this helps.

  • Run Web Layout in Reports Developer not working properly

I created a simple tabular report on hr.employees. It runs fine for the "Run Paper Layout" button. When I click "Run Web Layout" I get an IE browser window with the following:
    404 Not Found
    OracleJSP: java.io.FileNotFoundException:
Set the init-param debug_mode to "true" to see the complete exception message.
I do not know where to 'Set the init-param debug_mode to "true"'
    I'm using windows XP
My "home" for the 10g Developer Suite is I:\DevSuite10g
My "home" for the 10g Rel2 database is I:\oracle\product\10.2.0\
I can navigate to http://mycomputer:8890/reports/rwservlet and see the
"OracleAS Reports Services - Servlet Command Help" webpage
I'm not using Oracle Application Server software.

This document is being delivered to you via Oracle Support's Rapid Visibility (RaV) process, and therefore has not been subject to an independent technical review.
Applies to: Oracle Reports Developer - Version: 10.1.2.0.2
This problem can occur on any platform.
    Symptomso The loss of functionality
Cannot test jsp using Run to Web Layout button.
    o The sequence of events
    Open a report in builder.
Click on Run to Web Layout.
    Browser shows 404 error.
    o The significance of loss
    Cannot test reports in builder.
o Include specific error messages (error number with syntax)
    404 Not Found
    OracleJSP: java.io.FileNotFoundException:
Set the initialization parameter in debug_mode to "true" to query the complete exception message.</HT
    o What IS working
    Paper layout reports work.
CauseA space in the name caused the URL call for the jsp not to be valid.
When the URL is generated, the space is treated as the need for a new parameter.
    EXAMPLE
    JSP name: 'my test.jsp'
    Builds the following URL:
    http://server:3000%2Fmy+test000203332.jsp?frombuilder=yes&validatetag=yes&JSPRUN=Yes
While the following name without a space produces a good URL
    JSP name: 'myname.jsp'
    http://server:3000%2Fmyname000203332.jsp?frombuilder=yes&validatetag=yes&JSPRUN=Yes
Note that the '+' is not in the good URL.
SolutionTo implement the solution, please execute the following steps:
    1. Rename you report from my test.jsp' (with space) to 'mytest.jsp' (no space)

  • Can't Freeze Row/column in Web layout in Integrated planning

    Hi Guys
we have 50 columns in planning query. Web layout screen can't present all these column in one screen . While scrolling for viewing rest of the columns the initial column(Description) disappears i.e scrolled out and hence it is very difficult to corelate which Key Figutre value (Value) represent which Object(InfoObject).
We need a way around of freezing of columns functionality which is available in BPS but not in  BI IP.
    Thanks for any helpful input
    Thanks
    Tripple k

  • View temporary data in Web layout during file upload in Integrated Planning

    Hi Experts,
When using File Upload funcationality, in Integrated Planning,
I have a requirment, How user can view the data in the web layout?
After data display user can make changes in the data and on click of Save the updated data is saved in cube.
If any one has come across this requirment can you please help me out how things can be carried out?
If "how to implement" document is present can you please provide me the link.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Abhi

    Hi Abhi,
I assume, you are using WAD for this..
Please do the following: (Please note the the cube has to be in Plan mode while executing WAD)
    1. Create a input enable query (through query designer) on th eaggregate level (the one you are using for IP). You might need to create filers for the aggregate level. these filters can also be used in the query.
    2. In the WAD, pull this query.
    3. Create a button in WAD and check for the planning functionalities readily available that you can use in WAD. One of the planning functionality is SAVE Data. This will save any data which is entered by the user.
    4. In the same button integrate a Refresh Data command after the SAVE data. This will automatically refresh the query and pull the updated/changed data from the cube.
This should work. Please write back in case of any clarification.
    Regards, Rishi

  • Refresh Buttom in Web Layout.

    Hi Guys,
I would like to create a "Refresh button" in a web layout which will cancel all data changes made by the user and the layout is refreshed from the transaction cube or database.
Any guidance on this will be appreciated.
    thanks!
    Bala

    Bala,
Looks like you want to undo manual changes and this is possible if we can identify by some means what these changes are.May be timestamp range or something like that can be used to identify the changes made and write a delete function to clear it.As an alternative, you can also ask your users to work on a simulated version or a what-if version which would be a copy of their working version and in this one they can conduct multiple variations of the data.Only as and when they are satisfied they could copy it back to working version.
    Hope this helps.
    Cheers

  • Figure not updated with exit function

    Hi,
I have created a function module & have attached to an exit planning function, have create a planning folder that contains input layout from manual planning & this new exit function. but when test the planning folder, figure that have already calculated in the function not refreshed to the input layout, i do debug & the assignment value already correct.
what should i do to make the assignment in function module get updated in the input layout? the figure used in the fm is in editable mode in the layout.
    Please kindly help.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
Can you tell how you have added this FM in Planning folder?
For each function, you can define when the function is executed:
    1. Pushbutton: The user executes the function by clicking on a button.
    2. Execute before layout display: The function is executed before the planning layout is displayed. If the function changes data which is displayed in the layout, the changes are immediately visible in the layout.
    3. Execute before layout change: The function is executed when you exit the planning layout. If the function changes data which is displayed in the layout, the changes are not immediately visible after opening the layout.
I guess you can use "Execute before Layout Display" mode for your planning function in the planning folder.
