Expand rows of dynamics table

Hi Experts,
Do someone know the way to expand the rows of dynamic table to the end of its content area, and that in any case ?
For example, the table could content only one row with data, but the table should continue to expand until the end of the page ?
That means that following rows could be empty.
Thanks for your reply,
T.

Hi,
Thanks for your reply.
To be more clear, I've added a sketch :
And sometimes, we can have several pages, and other times the dynamic text can fill more than 1 page...
Thanks,
T.

  • How  to expand rows in a table by calculated value of a field

    Hi,
    I'm trying to set the rows of an expandable table to follow the calculated value of a field.
    The calculated field comes from two date fields that calculate the number of days and I want my table/row to expand based on that number..
    Is is possible? Right now I have a button that does add an instance  "Admin_Use.Table3._Row1.addInstance(1);" but I want it to be triggered by the calculated field instead...
    Thank you so much!!!!

    Hi Niall,
    Thank you for your reply. I'm still a bit puzzled as right now I have this code in my calculate field (see below) under the calculated event and I'm not sure how to insert the code you sent me as I keep getting syntax errors. Any help will be greatly appreciated!!!

  • Only first row of dynamic table saves to pdf

    Please help me with this.  I have a dynamic table in an xdp that can grow by adding rows (called details).  This appears to work in the browser, when I edit.  However, when I save to pdf, only the top row saves.  Any idea why the entire table is not saving to the PDF?  Thanks in advance.

    Yes, I experienced this problem just today. I have a dynamic form created in Live Cycle Designer that has one table with a control that permits the user to expand rows in the table through the Instance Manager. I am assuming that is where my problem is. The table adds/deletes rows effectively, but when I distribute the form, the corresponding response file is created with only fields for one row in this table.
    When you begin collecting responses, if a user submits a completed form with more than one row in the dynamic table, an error message will be generated that the form data doesn't match the response file structure. If you ignore the error and save the reponse, all rows beyond Row 1 will not be saved.
    I have not solved the design/coding issue yet, but I did develop a workaround. I opened the form_distributed.pdf and filled-out a bogus response, filling in as many rows in the dynamic table as I thought the universe of users would create. I then submitted the form. I then opened the submitted response and was prompted by Adobe to save the pdf to the response file. I checked save it to another file, then merely replaced the existing form_responses.pdf that only had 1 set of fields for Row 1. With the save, it now has fields to accept up to the number of rows I added in the bogus submission. I export to a cvs file then edit the field names to avoid duplicate field name issues in subsequent data analysis.
    There clearly must be a better and more eloquent solution.

  • Always fill out the very last row of a table (which can expand)

    Hi, I'm having problems with a button in table A that adds a row to another table (table B) and then automatically fills out some of the table row data (table A) into the newly created row of the other table (table B)
    Here's my code (on click of button in a row of Table A) - I should also mention that Table A has a button to add more rows to itself:
    This almost works - however, it only works if the amount of rows in each table match - which they don't necessarily as the user may or may not opt to add the row from table A to table B. eg. Table A could be 4 rows deep, but table B may only contain 2 Rows.
    tableB.row.addInstance(0);
    var vCol1 = this.resolveNodes("tableA.row.cellA");
    var vCol2 = this.resolveNodes("tableB.row.cellA");
    var vCol3 = this.resolveNodes("tableA.row.cellB");
    var vCol4 = this.resolveNodes("tableB.row.cellB");
    for (var i = 0; i < vCol1.length; i ++) {
                 vCol2.item(i).rawValue = vCol1.item(i).rawValue;
                 vCol4.item(i).rawValue = vCol3.item(i).rawValue;
    I'm new to scripting (learning on the fly) so my question is, seeing that the first command is to add a new row to table B, can I alter the code so that var vCol2 and vCol4 always relate to the very latest row that has been created? In that way, any previous rows that have been added will shunt down the list and will not be affected but the new button click? Or is there a better way of doing this.

    Hi,
    I think the key here is that the addInstance method returns the row it has just added.  So your add can be something like;
    var button = xfa.host.messageBox("You are about to ADD this entry to Table B. Do you wish to proceed?", "Add to Table B Section", 1, 2);
    if (button == 4)
       var newRow = tableB._tableBrow.addInstance(0);
       newRow.cellA.rawValue = cellA.rawValue;
       newRow.cellB.rawValue = cellB.rawValue;
    I'm not sure how you want the table A remove button to work?  Should it remove the first table B row with a matching cellA and cellB?

    Is this with the Travel database or another database?
    If it's another database then make sure your columns
    allow nulls. To check this in the Server Navigator, expand
    your DataSource down to the column.
    Select the column and view the Is Nullable property
    in the Property Sheet
    If still no luck, check out a tutorial, like Performing Inserts, ...

  • Fixed width row for lines table

    Hi,
    I have a header and details tables in my template. The problem is that if there is more data for any of the column in lines, the row expands and hence the gap between footer and lines table is disturbed. Because of this reason I am unable to fix number of rows per page for lines. Any guidelines on this will help.
    Thanks in advance,
    Suresh
    P.S. I am a newbie in XML

    Hi,
    Just to confirm this, you are having problems with the height of your table, ie it is expanding vertically down the page, as opposed to the width, expanding horizontally across the page.
    You can fix the height of the table, by selecting the repeating row of the table and going to Table Properties, on the Row tab check the Specify Height box. You can then enter a height for this row. The drop down menu to the right means you specify whether the row should be At Least the specified height, or exactly the specified height.
    You may need to look at nested tables here, but specifying the height of the rows should give you a reasonable starting point.

  • How can I add action listener to a cell or row in a table?

    hi there
    I need to be able to click on one cell or one row in a table, and perform some action, like openning a dialog or something. how can i add listener?

    // See How to Use Tables in tutorial. You will get one idea about Table Renderer and Editors.
    // If u understand the concept, ur problem is very easy to solve by adding Editor to your column.
    "You can think of the renderer as a configurable ink stamp that the table uses to stamp appropriately formatted data onto each cell. When the user starts to edit a cell's data, a cell editor takes over the cell, controlling the cell's editing behavior.
    Here, While tabing thru the table row, default all cell editors are JLabels. (Not editables)
    So u can make it those cells are editable JTextFields or JComboBoxes based on the column while tabbing. And you can add Listeners to that fields too. So those editable fields are called Editor Components.
    // see javax.swing.DefaultCellEditor class for more description
    Here i am adding my own JTextField editor to 3rd column of a table by using
    mytable.getColumnModel().getColumn(2).setCellEditor(editor );
    Here editor is a obj of below class. (Not complete..class)
    public class JbuiEditor extends DefaultCellEditor implements // any listener {
    public JbuiEditor(JTextField tField) {
    super(tField);
    setClickCountToStart(1);
    tField.addFocusListener(this);
    this.editorComponent = tField;
    public Component getComponent(){
         return editorComponent;
    public Component getTreeCellEditorComponent(JTree tree, Object value,
                                  boolean isSelected,
                                  boolean expanded,
                                  boolean leaf, int row) {
         String StringValue = tree.convertValueToText(value, isSelected,
                             expanded, leaf, row, false);
         delegate.setValue(stringValue);
         return editorComponent;
    public Object getCellEditorValue() {
    return super.getCellEditorValue();
    public Component getTableCellEditorComponent(JTable table, Object value, boolean isSelected,int row, int column) {
    super.getTableCellEditorComponent(table,value,isSelected,row,column);
    ((JTextField)editorComponent).setText(value.toString());
    //Here u can add any type of listener to this Editor component.like..
    ((JTextField)editorComponent).addActionListener(..);
    ((JTextField)editorComponent).addFocusListener(..);
    return editorComponent;
    Hope gives some idea.

  • Header row in a table is overlapping when it goes to the second page

    Hello,
    I have a header row in a table that I need to repeat on new pages if there is enough data to make it go to a new page. It is repeating on the second page, but when it does it all overlaps and is squashed to the left. It is 5 columns long and each column goes on top of the others to the left.
    I am hoping someone might be able to help.
    Thanks!

  • Is there a way to add rows to a table in a fillable PDF?

    I have created a fillable form, but the table I've created only has 9 rows. I'd like to be able to expand the rows on demand. If they're needed, then the user could add rows to the table as needed. It's an expense form, so the rows need to be there when there are multiple expenses, but not there when there are only a few expenses. Any/all help is appreciated. Thanks!

    here's more background infomation... I have some audits setup on my database for one of my users. Every quarter I have an automated job that runs that creates a usage/statics report for this person using data in aud$. at the end of the job I export the aud$ table and truncate it. However last quarter I found that there was a mistake in my report and my export did not run properly thus my audit data was gone. i also have full datapump exports that run daily but found that aud$ was not there. so that is why I thought I'd like to include sys.aud$ in the full datapump exports.
    i understand why other sys tables would be left out of a full export but aud$ data cannot be reproduced so to me it makes sense to include it in a full export.
    don't worry, we run our true backups using rman which is eventually how I got the aud$ data back by creating a copy of my database up until the time of the truncate. however this was quite time consuming.

  • How can I display "detailStamp" facet selectively for rows in a table ?

    Hi,
    My JDEV version is Studio Edition Version 11.1.1.5.0
    I am trying to display "detailStamp" facet selectively .
    If I read api in link below
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E26098_01/apirefs.1112/e17488/oracle/adf/view/rich/component/rich/data/RichTable.html
    Use the "detailStamp" facet on the Table to include a collapsable content area for each table row. Please note that the height of the open detail area will be a set height based on the height of the detailStamp component. Adding a component that changes in height (like showDetail or panelBox) will by default produce strange results when the detailStamp component's height changes.
    Detail Stamp can be selectively displayed for rows in the table by EL binding the "rendered" attribute of the "detailStamp" facet to "true" or "false". The EL binding can contain references to the table "var" attribute since during rendering it will be executed in the context of the row. Disclosure icon is displayed only for rows which have rendered="true".
    I can see that i can achieve it by setting rendered property for that facet. BUT this property is not available in Studio Edition Version 11.1.1.5.0

    Hi Frank.
    Thanks for your quick reply .
    But I am using Studio Edition Version 11.1.1.5.0 . In this version the property RENDERED of f:facet name="detailStamp" is NOT allowed.
    Edited by: user13764942 on Feb 7, 2013 5:48 AM
    Put in another way , I want to render the "detailStamp" facet selectively for rows , so for that I need the RENDERED property of "detailStamp" facet. This property is ONLY available in Jdev version 11.2 . I am using Jdev 11.1.1.5.0 so I need some alternative to RENDERED property as this property is NOT available in Jdev 11.1.1.5.0.
    Please suggest some way to achieve this behaviour of displaying "detailStamp" facet selectively ....
    Thanks!

  • Creation of new Row in Tree Table

    We are creating a new row using CreateListener which is written in Bean, after creating the row, we are adding it to the iterator and the new row is not getting highlighted and focus is not in new row in the table by default. It takes an click to make it editable. 'setActiveRowKey()' method didnot help here which is used in the af:table component to achieve the same.
    Any pointers regarding this issue would be helpful..
    Thanks,
    Shruthi

    Hi Max:
    According to what you described, it's really wierd. An ADF table is Surrounded by a panelCollection or not doesn't matter in terms of CreateInsert operations, I think. Also each step you said OK doesn't mean that step is 100% problem free towards your final goal. For example, when you drag and drop and ADF table onto a JSF page, you forget to turn on 'row selection', it will be OK, you won't get any error message, but later on when you find that you need to turn it back on, you have to go back to JSF page source, to manually added codes to do so.
    The simpliest solution and quickest one is to reinitiate a clean ADF project and do it all over again. It's simple straightforward in my view. Probably don't use PanelCollection first, just drop your ADF table on a form, or af:panelForm, but make sure your table and 'CreateInsert' button is surrounded by a form, otherwise, when you click on 'CreateInsert', nothing will happen. When everything works, then probably back it up and replace your form or af:panelForm with panelCollection. See how it goes.
    Thanks,
    Alex

  • Get values from selected row in a Table?

    Hello.
    I'm on VC 7.1 (the trial version downloaded from SDN).
    I'm trying to figure out a way to retrieve some values from the currently selected row in a Table element through the output connector.
    I have a web-service which returns results to the Table, and I want the user to be able to select one of the rows and then trigger another web-service call with some of the values from that row -- is this possible?
    Also, I can't find any documentation that lists what can and can't be done with each UI element, is there something like this some where? (the Modeler's guide doesn't help, and the Reference guide seems to focus on menu items and what the VC screen looks like)
    Thanks,
    Alon

    Hi Alon
    This is a very simple task.
    You just need drag the service which you want to execute, after select row, in model.
    Drag output connector from table to input connector of service. Then map the parameter.

  • ADF: How to get the attributes' values of one single row from a table?

    Currently I have a table with 3 attributes, suppose A,B and C respectively. And I've added an selectionListener to this table. That means when I select one single row of this table, I wish to get the respective value of A, B and C for that particular row. How do I achieve this?
    suppose the method is like:
    public void selectionRow(SelectionEvent se) {            //se is the mouse selection event
    .......??? //what should I do to get the values of A\B\C for one single row?
    Edited by: user12635428 on Mar 23, 2010 1:40 AM

    Hi
    Assuming you are using Jdev 11g.
    Try with this
    public void selectionRow(SelectionEvent se) {
    String val = getManagedBeanValue("bindings.AttributeName.inputValue");
    public static Object getManagedBeanValue(String beanName) {
    StringBuffer buff = new StringBuffer("#{");
    buff.append(beanName);
    buff.append("}");
    return resolveExpression(buff.toString());
    public static Object resolveExpression(String expression) {
    FacesContext facesContext = getFacesContext();
    Application app = facesContext.getApplication();
    ExpressionFactory elFactory = app.getExpressionFactory();
    ELContext elContext = facesContext.getELContext();
    ValueExpression valueExp =
    elFactory.createValueExpression(elContext, expression,
    Object.class);
    return valueExp.getValue(elContext);

  • Get all the rows of the table

    Hi,
         In my example I want to get all the rows of the table. The table has 20 rows. The visibleRowCount is set to 7 and firstVisibleRow is set to 3.
         I have created the table as
         var oTable = new sap.ui.table.Table({
               id: "oTable",
               title: "My Table",
               visibleRowCount: 7,
               firstVisibleRow: 3,
               selectionMode: sap.ui.table.SelectionMode.Single
         I tried to get the rows of the table using the below code
         var table = sap.ui.getCore().byId("oTable");
         var rows = table.getRows();     //     Returns only 7 rows
        How to get all the rows of the table when the table is populated with a odata service  ?

    Hi Vishal,
    The table only put in the html file the rows that you define in visiblerowcount (rows control). The method getRows, get this controls, and you only have 7. The table control render automacatically the data in thats rows when you scroll on it.
    If that you want is to retrieve the data of the rows, you need catch it from the model:
    oTable.getModel().getData();

    Hi,
    If I understand, you don't want display the result into a Web Dynpro Table. If so, after the execution, the result of your request is stored into the context. Then you don't really need to transfert the data from your context to an Java Array.
    But if you want to do it, here is the code :
    guess your result node called
    nodeResult
    Vector myVector = new Vector();
    for (int i = 0; i < wdContext.nodeResult().size(); i++){
       myVector.put(wdContext.nodeResult().getElementAt(i));
    I hope this will answer to your question.
