Has anyone run into this problem?
Is it related to an Oracle bug?
Are there fixes/workarounds?
Thanks in advance,
AlanHi,
There have been fixes to this area. I don't know if this exact error has been fixed, but getting the latest patchset would be a good place to start.

Error ORA-39125 and ORA-04063 during export for transportable tablespace
I'm using the Oracle Enterprise Manager (browser is IE) to create a tablespace transport file. Maintenance...Transport Tablespaces uses the wizard to walk me through each step. The job gets created and submitted.
The 'Prepare' and 'Convert Datafile(s)' job steps complete successfully. The Export step fails with the following error. Can anyone shed some light on this for me?
Thank you in advance!

Using SQL Developer, I checked the view SYS.KU$_IOTABLE_VIEW referred to in the error message, and it does indeed report a problem with that view. The following code is the definition of that view. I have no idea what it's supposed to be doing, because it was part of the default installation. I certainly didn't write it. I did, however, execute the 'Test Syntax' button (on the Edit View screen), and the result was this error message:

AVG as an analytic function - gives error ORA-0439
I'm trying my first implementation of AVG as an analytic function. I took the following query which gave a simple average:
SELECT
PERSON.LASTNAME,
COUNT(TO_NUMBER(RPTOBS.OBSVALUE)) CNT,
AVG(TO_NUMBER(RPTOBS.OBSVALUE)) AVRG
FROM
TUT.PERSON PERSON,
TUT.RPTOBS RPTOBS
WHERE
PERSON.PID = RPTOBS.PID AND
RPTOBS.HDID = 54
GROUP BY
PERSON.LASTNAME;
and was rewrote this to give an average of the values of the last 3 dates (I think..)
SELECT
PERSON.LASTNAME,
RPTOBS.OBSDATE,
AVG(TO_NUMBER(RPTOBS.OBSVALUE))
OVER
(PARTITION BY PERSON.LASTNAME
ORDER BY RPTOBS.OBSDATE
ROWS BETWEEN UNBOUNDED PRECEDING AND 2 FOLLOWING)
AS AVRG3
FROM
TUT.PERSON PERSON,
TUT.RPTOBS RPTOBS
WHERE
PERSON.PID = RPTOBS.PID AND
RPTOBS.HDID = 54;
(this seemed to be a direct translation of a similar query in the SQL Reference.
I am getting an error message of:
ORA-0439 - feature not enabled - OLAP Window Functions
Can some one tell me why?
Thanks,
Will Salomon
[email protected]I haven'y done it personally, but I am told that it's really as simple as de-insatlling the Standard Edition software and then installing the Enterprise Edition. Th einstaller will prompt you for an Oracle SID and you just have to point it to your existing database.
You may wish to test this proposition before risking your actual system. But, in any case, take a back up.
With 9i things are simpler: everyting gets installed, you're just not allowed to use the EE features if you haven't paid for them.

Errors - ORA-01034, ORA-27101 & Linux-x86_64 Error: 2: No such file or dir
I have installed Oracle 10g database and AS 10g on SUSE linux EE 10 (SP2)
When I try to log in as system/system using sqlplus locally on the server, it works fine. However, when I try the following I get error messages:
SQL> conn system/system@botsdb
ERROR:
ORA-01034: ORACLE not available
ORA-27101: shared memory realm does not exist
Linux-x86_64 Error: 2: No such file or directory
I tried the same from my laptop through sqlplus and the error message is the same.
I checked if the database was up and to check this I executed follwing commands whicle still being logged as system/system:
SQL>Select * from v$database;
SQL>Select * from v$instance;
SQL>Select * from tab;
These do bring results. Also if I try to start up the database again, it gives error message that the database is already up. I have restarted the db number of times, checked if my listener was listening on the service BOTSDB and these all seem fine.
It is very intriguing that when @BOTSDB is attached while connecting, the connection fails.
Can someone please guide me to sort this error?
Thanks and kind regards,
AparnaHi

robyavthis is a production database runing in windows platform and there is no backup
what should iWell first of all you should stop using EXP for backups, it's quite unsuitable, and start using RMAN instead. Find out more.
If you have a Metalink account you shoudl read Note:298968.1. But teh headline is there is a bug in 10gR1 which is fixed in 10gR2. This may not help you much. The workaround is to try running the export again later, which may not be any more helpful.
Cheers, APC -
I read that this is a general purpose error for Forms, but I couldn't find an answer for my situation. I have a datablock based on a view, and a command button that has a trigger for selecting values into the block where one of the blocks fields matches those records. Here is the pl/sql code for the button's when-button-pressed trigger:
BEGIN
SELECT VIEW.ATTRIBUTE1, VIEW.ATTRIBUTE2
INTO :DATABLOCK.TEXTFIELD1, :DATABLOCK.TEXTFIELD2
FROM VIEW
WHERE :DATABLOCK.TEXTFIELD = VIEW.ATTRIBUTE3;
END;
When I try to run this in Forms, I get the Error frm-40735 ora-01403. I can run similar code from SQL Plus. I would really appreciate some help.
regardsLet me give a better example: If I have two tables:
create table dept (
dept_no NUMBER,
dept_name VARCHAR2(10),
CONSTRAINT dept_pk PRIMARY KEY (dept_no)
create table Location (
loc_no NUMBER,
loc_name VARCHAR2(10),
dept_no NUMBER,
CONSTRAINT loc_pk PRIMARY KEY (loc_no),
CONSTRAINT loc_fk FOREIGN KEY (dept_no)
REFERENCES dept(dept_no)
and I create a master-detail form between the two. If I try to search by the loc_name, with the two tables joined by the master-detail, and have a trigger on a command button with the code:
BEGIN
SELECT d.dept_no, d.dept_name
INTO :DEPARTMENT.DEPT_NO, :DEPARTMENT.DEPT_NAME
FROM Location l, Dept d
WHERE :LOCATION.LOC_NAME = l.loc_name;
END;
why do I encounter the error? -
ORA-20001: ORA-29902: error in executing ODCIIndexStart() routine
Hi, everyone!
I have an error as follow:
ORA-20001: ORA-29902: error in executing ODCIIndexStart() routine
ORA-06553: PLS-123: program too large
I can get the sql where the procedure through the error, and execute the sql in sqlplus, no error. Does anyone have experience with the error? or have some direction to solve problem? thank you!
My oracle version is 9.2.0.8.0 and sdo version is 9.2.0.8.0, too.I agree with Omar, However if you want to search using special character, you may want to look into the following example. I am not saying this may be a solution for you, however this may give you a start on how to deal with special character in you search.
In our enviroment we have "N" number of Science & Pharmacy & Chemical clients. They need the ability to search using special character for that we have done the following..
begin
select user into v_username from dual;
ctx_ddl.create_preference('orc_CTX_WLPREF', 'BASIC_WORDLIST');
ctx_ddl.set_attribute('orc_CTX_WLPREF','SUBSTRING_INDEX','TRUE');
ctx_ddl.set_attribute('orc_CTX_WLPREF','WILDCARD_MAXTERMS','2559');
ctx_ddl.Create_Preference('orc_LEXER','BASIC_LEXER');
ctx_ddl.Set_Attribute('orc_LEXER', 'index_themes', 'FALSE');
ctx_ddl.set_attribute('orc_LEXER','printjoins','0123456789%,./?;:<>[]{}\|+=-_()*&^$#@!''"%');
end;
And then siply create the index as follow..
create index index_name on activitylog(columnname)
indextype is ctxsys.context
parameters ('Wordlist CYBERLAB_CTX_WLPREF lexer CYBERLAB_LEXER memory 48M');
then I am able to do something like the following..
select count(*) from ACTIVITYLOG where contains (DESCRIPTION, '<%.htm@') > 0;
hope this helps.. -
