Explain how to implement prompt functionality using @variable

Hi all,
Anyone please explain how to implement prompt functionality using @variable.
We got some sql reports.Those reports have to be converted into BO free hand sql report.
Please provide any best practices for converting sql reports into BO free hand SQL.

Repost Function using Variable is not working

Hello experts! I am on BW-BPS 3.5. I have set up a repost function using variables to change a characteristic value for Business Unit.
1. I created 2 variables as Bus.Unit From and Bus.Unit To in the Planning Area. I am not using the variables in my planning level.
2. I entered the variables in the parameter group New Values area for the From and To Values.
3. My goal is when the user executes the Repost Function for a Variable Prompt should appear and have the user select the From Business Unit and To Business Unit.
The Variables are set up as USERVALUE User-Defined Values, Restriction of Values required by user and I have tried with/without option of Input Allowed by User.
Can you tell me what I am doing wrong, I expected a variable prompt when executing the Repost Function but it does not work.

Ravi, Thank you for your reply however I contiue to have errors or the execution does not repost (change any value) as noted below.
1. I have 2 Variables in Planning area var1 (from) var2 (to) for the same charateristic which is Business Unit
2. Business Unit is in the level, on the selection tab to add the variable I can only add 1 variable, So I added var1 (from) to the level.
3. Parameter group for old and new values - I have Var1 (from), var2 (to)
4. Report Function - are you referring to Reporting variables in BPS? I have set this up as suggested in the "How to Use Reporting Variable in BW-BPS" document.
5. Enter plan data: I receive prompt for VAR1, mandatory. At this point there is no value in Var2.
6. Execute Repost function - I receive an error to "Restrict Var2"
7. If I set variable values and add a value for Var2 I receive an error "The generated data is not contained in the selection condition".
Next I removed VAR1 from my planning level and turned on the option 'Selection in package' for Business Unit. This seems to work well.
What do you recommend?

Explain How delivery date is calculated using backward and forward schedul

How can anyone please explain how delivery date is calculated using forward and backward scheduling
I want to have it broken down into the following steps
for eg for delivery date calculation following dates are used
Material Availabilty Date
Material Staging Date
Pick/pack time
Transportation PLanning date
Loading date
Goods issue date
Transit Date
Delivery Date
Can some one please give me an example and explain wht these dates are
for eg customer needs delivery date on 11/20/2008
how would the system cacluate whether it can meet the delivery date using backward scheduling
and if it doesnt meet how does the system do the forward scheduling
also i am not clear with the following dates
material avaialibilty date
material staging date
transportation date

Hi,
Basically this is the CRSD(Customer requested ship date logic)logic in which system calculates the ship date depends upon the material availability. If material is available system calculates ship date on the basis of master data maintained in customisation.Master data is maintained in the following link.
If material is not available then system takes into consideration vendor delivery date & then calculate customer ship date.

LE-Shipping -Basic shipping functions-Scheduling -Delivery scheduling & Transportation scheduling-Maintain duration.
In customisation following data is maintained

How to implement AI_Change_Parameter function?

Hi, everyone, I just bought a NI 4472 DSA board, and want to enable IEPE excitation for a channel for connecting a ICP Accelerometer, but I do not have LabView, only use MATLAB, I don't know how to implement AI_Change_Parameter function in the matlab? I know the devNum is 1 and chanNum is 2, then directly use this function {AI_Change_Parameter (1, 2, ND_DSA_EXCITATION, ND_ON) } in MATLAB, it does not work, could you please let me know what is the problem and how can I use this AI_Change_Parameter function?
Another question: I checked here and found that the amplifier gain for this NI 4472 DAS board can NOT been adjusted, is that true? I just plan to amplify the signal before it goes to MATLAB.

In regards to your question on the amplifier gain, you are correct, there is only 1 range setting on the 4472.
In regards to you question on programming Traditional NI-DAQ in Matlab, this shuold be handled on your post on the Multifunction DAQ forum to get the most help from other users with similar experience.

I really got a headache solving how to implement route cipher using java lang,,i already got the concept but i really dont get how to implement it using java actually i want to make a presentation of how route cipher works using "adobe flash" but first i will implement it using java coz flash actionscripts are closer to java lang.

just add an action listener (either keypressed or keytyped) to the frame that you want to record. I did this in NetBeans in about 2 seconds. I can simplify it if you need. As for loging it just write the characters to a file output stream.

hi all, i have a advanced table with some data populated, all the rows has a checkbox where the user can select the rows which he wants, my requirement is how to implement copy functionality, i,e i need to show the same set of rows which the user selected in the same advanced table. can any one give me an idea of how to do this

You can copy the key of the selected rows to the copy page and based on those keys render the rows. On this copy page, once user commits after any modification to data, read those rows and save with new keys.

so that we can erase part of line or all lines.
Some programs present the methods to do undo operations, however none of them

The simplest one is to draw with the background color, typically white.

How to implement this function in JSP/Servlet env?

I working on a project, it provides functionality to upload file using JSP/Servlet. In the first JSP page, there is file location and submit button. After user select a file to upload and click submit button, a message, like "sending file to XXXX", will be shown on the screen. Once uploading and validation are done on the server-side, a successful/error msg will be shown to user.
Here I have a question for the "sending..." msg and the successful/error msg. They should be put in one jsp page or in two separate page? how to implement them?

For the sending message... Well, the thing is, when you click submit, it's sending the file to the server and the server is processing it, and this is all done before the "complete" page is sent to the server. So one would need to use some Javascript on the page before the actual submit happens to show some message. This is done on Ebay when you put something for sale, you can upload an image, and there is a little popup message telling you that it's uploading, and it is removed when the process is done. Now, I'm not sure the exact details of how this works, but my educated guess is this:
1) The onsubmit function of the form checks that the file upload fields have a value (no need to popup a message if no file upload, since that's what usually takes the time, although it could just be assumed there is a file). If a file is to be uploaded, or just want to show the message anyway, a new popup window is opened with the window.open method and the "sending" message is shown (either written via Javascript or just load a small web page to the window).
2) The popup window, since you can't transfer the window object from the form page to the next page, has to check window.opener for some value that the success/error page would have to set. The success/error page could use it's body onload function to set a variable in it's own window object to denote that the page is loaded. The popup window can use a looping check using setTimeout or setInterval in Javascript to check for window.opener.isLoadedVariable to be present, and if so, close itself.
I've never done that, but I see no reason why it wouldn't work.

I think you are trying to use a sql server window function here. If you are, then you could push this function to the DB itself, using EVALUATE() in OBIEE.

for me its easy to implament logic with * and + rather than AND and OR respectively
((Revenue<0)(Cost<0))Value +((Revenue>0)(Cost>0)) ( Profit&Lost / ABS(Revenue))
As i have mentoned already,for Else case i have considered (Revenue>0) and (Cost>0) only.
Value can be a KeyFigure/Formula/formula variable/CKF/RKF
its not possible to type characters in the formula window so 'N/A'

How to implement wafer mapping using LabVIEW?

Hello LabVIEW Masters!
I am having an incoming project which includes controlling and gathering information from a PROBER. One of the difficulties I am having now is how to implement a WAFER MAP using LabVIEW. According to my customer requirements, the wafer element ranges from 6k to 23k. I guess doing all the element (one die = one led ctl/indicator) will be a hell of a task, especially on how to effectively manipulate each elements. Does anyone have better idea on how to this?

No, it's not ok. I made that program for my customer...
As I am not too familiar in using intensity graph.
That's no reason to hand over programs for free...
My customer also request me that if the cursor hover on the wafer map, he wants the x,y corrdinates to be displayed.
I also have such a feature. Did you notice the little yellow cursor near the center of the wafer? One could easily change that to use a MouseMove event instead...
He also wants to select some elements in the wafer map and come up with the coordinate values to do some testing.
That's related to the cursor thing...
Some points:
- You have a customer that pays you. Why should I offer work for free?
- You can send me contact dates of your customer, I will make him an offer...
- When you take an job to provide software you should be able to code the software...
- The VI(s) are now some years old. I didn't code so well back those days and don't want to hand out those VIs as they are right now.
- I included some "license management" deep inside that program, I would have to remove this and spend time on testing afterwards...
- The VIs are based on the PROBER output format used by the customer. All the file handling has to be changed for/by you...
