Why there are two init methods?

I copied this code from netbeans for a JApplet.. and it has two init methods
One is public void init() that calls another initComponents() method.
And the initComponents() method has all the components defined in it, and it is private.
I replaced private with public and changed initComponents to init, and then deleted all the init method, it worked that way.
But why there two methods when you can put every thing in single init() method?
The init() method has this code in it:

Select One Choice attribute' LoV based on two bind variables, best practice

I am in the process of learning the ADF 11g, I have following requirement,
A page must contain a list of school names which is needed to be fetched based on two parameters, the parameters are student information been inserted in the previous page.
I have defined a read only view "SchoolNamesViewRO", it's query depends on two bind variables :stdDegree and stdCateg.
added that RO View as a view accessor to the entity to which the name attribute belongs, and then add LoV for the name attribute using the ReadOnly view,
added the name attribute as Select One Choice to page2,
and now I need to pass the values of the bind variables of the ReadOnly view,
the information needed to be passed as the bind variables is inserted in the previous page, I could have the data as bindings attribute values in the page2 definition
I have implemented the next two appraoches but both resulted in an empty list :
* added ExecuteWithParams Action to the bindings of the page and then defined an Invoke Action (set refresh condition) in the executable s, set the default values of the parameters to be the attributes values' input value,
in the trace I code see that the binding fetches correct values as supposed , but the select list appears empty, does the this execution for the query considered to be connected to the list ?
* added a method to the ReadOnly view Imp java class to set the bind variables, then I define it as a MethodAction in the bindings , and then create an Invoke action for it , also the select is empty,
if the query been executed with the passed variables, then why the list is empty? is it reading data from another place than the page!
and what is the best practice to implement that requirement?
would the solution be : by setting the default value of the bind variables to be some kind of Expression!
please notice that query execution had the bound variables ( I see in the trace) are set to the correct values.
would you give some hints or redirect me to a useful link,

Variable type exit with two source variables

I have a case where I should determine a variable (A) value according to two other variables (B) and (C). That is, e.g.
- IF (B)=x AND (C)=y THEN (A)=z
- IF (B)=i AND (C)=j THEN (A)=k
It seems like I cannot call the user exit with more than one exported variable, the standard call below:

Both source variables are type exit, so I did the following:
A-variable was the standard source
B-variable was determined by function call (source below)
C-variable then determined by combination of A and B
I added this simple code in the beginning of your own logic and I had source_var_B as a B-variable.
DATA: source_var_B TYPE upc_yto_charsel.

I want to add two byte variable and store result in a byte variable but there is an error. Pls clarify me.

Compare two dynamic variables

I'm struggeling comparing two variables against each other as seen below. I have some AD-group names in a csv file, and I have a variable($getGroup) with results from a Get-ADGrup-query.
I'd like to filter out the groups of the csv-file from the variable, so "$getGroup" in this example should end up empty.
In the example below, the return is the two groups, so it doesn't get filtered out. How can I do that?

BW 2.0B, info package selection, cant use two system variable for 0CALMONTH

Hi Experts,
I am working on BW 2.0B in APO system. There is an info package for which I want to supply two selection value for 0CALMONTH as equal to current month and last month. System variables 0CMONTH (for current month) and 0CMLMON (for last month) are available but I am not able to use them both.
If I change the variable in one selection, it automatically changes the other one too, making both the selection as same variable.
Can you suggest any solution/idea?

How do i do a forward and reverse sweep two independent variables

Hi,
So I was looking through the post on how to do a forward and reverse sweep with a real-time x-y plot. I have a similar situation except that instead of sweeping (forward and reverse) of one variable, but instead two variables (in my case, I call it gate voltage G-S Volt and source-drain voltage S-D Volt). I understand how to do it with one variable as provided in previous posts, but I am caught when I add another variable to reverse sweep. I have attached my vi to this post. Any suggesstions is greatly appreciated. Thank you. Also, a little more details on my plot, I am plotting current vs gate voltage which forward and reverse sweepeing (gate and source-drain voltage)..

It is very difficult to follow what your code is doing. It violates all of the style guide and good practice recommendation for LabVIEW code.
The diagram should fit on one screen. SubVIs can help. Generally dataflow eliminates the need for sequence structures. Stacked sequence structures in particular obscure the code. Local variables are prone to race conditions, violate dataflow, and are not needed for the uses you are making of them. Wiring should go right to left, with minimal numbers of bends. Comments documenting what you are doing are helpful to others looking at your code and to you next month when you wonder why you did it that way.

To use two presentation variables based on the period selection in OBIEE

Dear All,
I have period prompt in my report, based on the period prompt selection in my report I need to get the start and end dates of the period and apply in the report filter.
For e.g. Period Name selected in the prompt is "2010 - Q1" (For this Period, Period Start Date = 01/01/2010 and Period End Date is 30/03/2010, which is not going to be displayed in the prompts).
How can I get the start and end dates of the period into my report filter. I tried using the presentation variable for the period name, but unable to resolve the requirement.

Create a report A which will give you the period start date and end date and filter it using the period prompt.
Then filter the main report using the report A start date and end date, using Filter -> Advanced ->Filter based on results of another request .
Add the report A in separate section on the dashboard along with main report and hide report A section.

How can I format-table with two different variables

I have a script who's purpose is to go through all the mailboxes in exchange and look for any with SG_ or Group listed in the Full Access Permissions. The script works though I'm having trouble formatting the data in a way that I can use it in Excel.
Ultimately I'd like it to report the Name of the mailbox and the name of the entry listed in the Full Access Permissions that has SG_ or Group in the name. Currently the output is the name of the mailbox and then on a separate line the full name of the security
group.
I'm trying to have it so that each part is in it's own column. That will make it easy to review in excel.

Thanks for the response but what I am looking for is even simpler than that.
The script goes through every mailbox we have.
It checks the Full Access Permissions for anything with SG_ or group listed in the Full access permissions.
It then should write out to a file the name of the mailbox and the entry in the Full access permissions that contains SG_ or _Group
so something like this:
Mailbox Name <---New ColumN--->Entry
Mailbox1<---New ColumN--->SG_Mailbox1
Ignore the <---New ColumN---> as I simply put that in to emphasize space between the two columns.

Compare two complex variables with BPEL ?

I would like to compare 2 csv files with BPEL, with specific rules. For example, I would like to check that for each row : "Value of Field1 of File1" has less than a 10% difference with "Value of Field1 of File2"
I can successfully retrieve the content of the files, thanks to the following thread : Help! Three questions about FileAdapater. . Now the files are in 2 variables.
What is the right method to compare the variables, row by row with this kind of specific validation rules ? Should I handle it with a Java call ? Especially, where should be the loop on rows : in BPEL (if so : how ?) or Java ?

I suggest having a look at the Array sample (orabpel\samples\tutorials\112.Arrays)
that shows how to loop through an array.
Whether to do this in BPEL of Java depends on a lot of circumstances, but I suggest giving this a try first.

You can create a new variable zcurperiod of the type customer exit.
When creating this, select can be changed in query navigation.
Deselect ready for input.
When you create coding for this in CMOD, you need to get the current period.
You can do the same for fiscal year, or calendar month year.

I have a datagrid and a form binded to the selectedItem record of the datagrid. I need to update the values according to whatever is typed into the form fields.
I use a CFC to handle the update. I have a newBean class which holds the new values from the form and also an oldBean object which holds old values to verify I'm updating the correct record.
In my actionscript I have two objects, newObj and oldObj. Here is how I set them up in my update function.

So, I set the oldObj to the selectedItem and then I set the newObj to that same item, which initially should give them the current values of the selectedItem in the datagrid. Then I set the values of newObj to match the form fields. Lastly I have a remoteObject method "update()" send the two objects to the CFC I mentioned above. When I found out it wasn't updating properly, I set up a cfdump to my email to list the values for both oldObj and newObj.
Results:
newObj properly takes all the new values as intended. oldObj strangely also takes on the new values, yet I never assigned oldObj to accept the new values. So why is oldObj also accepting the values in the form fields when there's no visible connection between oldObj and any of the fields?

I don't have an external site I can load this on. It's a component of an application as well, so I'd have to publish the whole thing. Instead, I'll just post all relevent code. Notes: cfc is generated from the ColdFusion wizard. apptTable is a valueObject that contains the structure of the record data.

If you look at the update code from the CFC, you can see all my table columns, some of which are not present in my form fields because they should never change.
Fields in form: clientNameInput, topicInput, infoInput, dateInput, timeInput, and a combo box for am/pm.
Columns not in form: apptID, dateSubmitted, userID, userName

This code does not set upObj to the selectedItem record of the dg. Instead it just accepts the values of the form fields and any values in the datagrid that do not change.
