Export Device Collection to Excel
Is there a way to export a device collection to a CSV or Excel file? I want to compare 2 device collections as the numbers are not matching up and I would rather do it in excel than try and do it manually. Is there a report I'm missing?
Hello !
In addition, if you want to export collection memberships with more details like operating system, serial number, model, memory, proc, etc...
You have to Run the report "Hardware 01A - Summary of computers in a specific collection" in "Asset Intelligence" folder.
Then export to Excel or Word, XML, CSV, PDF.
Hope this helps.

Hello Guys,
I have created a Device collection for UK region (2000+ machines)
Now i have been given a list of 1000 machines to which i need to deploy an application.
I have to create a device collection for this 1000+ machines. as an input i have a excel or CSV file with a list of machine names.
Please suggest me how can i create a device collection with CSV file as input. Is my CSV file should be in particular format.
Or is there any other way i can create a collection for this 1000 specific machines.
Please suggest.My previous post was for sccm 2012.
here its for 2007
In the Operating System Deployment section of SCCM right click on Computer Association and choose
Import Computer Information
when the wizard appears select Import Computers using a file
The file itself must contain the information we need in this (CSV) format
COMPUTERNAME,GUID,MACADDRESS
(sample below)
Quote
deployvista,3ED92460-0448-6C45-8FB8-A60002A5B52F,00:03:FF:71:7D:76
NEWCOMP1,55555555-5555-5555-5555-555555555555,05:06:07:08:09:0A
NEWPXE,23CA788C-AF62-6246-9923-816CFB6DD39F,00:03:FF:72:7D:76
w2k8deploy,BFAD6FF2-A04E-6E41-9060-C6FB9EDD4C54,00:03:FF:77:7D:76
if we look at the last line, I've marked the computer name in Red, the GUID in BLUE and the MAC address in GREEN, separate these values with commas as above.
w2k8deploy,BFAD6FF2-A04E-6E41-9060-C6FB9EDD4C54,00:03:FF:77:7D:76
the file can be a standard TEXT file that you create in notepad, and you can rename it to CSV for easier importing into our wizard...
so, click on Browse and browse to where you've got your CSV file
on the Choose Mapping screen, you can select columns and define what to do with that mapping, eg: you could tell it to ignore the GUID value (we won't however)
on the next screen you'll see a Data Preview, and this is useful as it will highlight any errors it finds with a red exclamation mark, in the example below a typo meant that it correctly flagged the MAC address as invalid
so edit your CSV file again and fix the error, click previous (back) and try again
Next choose the target collection where you want these computers to end up in
review the summary
in SCCM collections, we can now see the computers we've just imported from File,
Enjoy

Fairly new user to System Center 2012 here, so still trying to learn the ins and outs.
Last Thursday, we deployed new software to every PC in our environment. The deployment uninstalled the old application and installed the new one. The job itself was a success (not bad for my first one!).
Anyhow, I had built a SQL based device collection for each application so that I could monitor how many PCs have each application. Essentially, I wanted to watch one grow while the other declined.
I also built a report for each application based on what Add/Remove Programs is reporting so that I could have something to export to Excel to provide updates to management. We run software scans daily on all of our PCs and 90% physically remain
on the network all hours of the day.
My question is: Why is the device collection showing so many more computers having the new software than the report is? I would think they would both always report the same number. For example, the device collection shows 2021 members with
the new application, however the report shows 1565. The report makes it appear as though the deployment was a failure, but the device collection says otherwise. Today is day 5 so I just find it odd that it's taking so long for the report to catch
up. Maybe I've missed a setting to configure the clients to run an inventory scan daily?
Administration - Client Settings - Software Inventory - Occurs every 1 day effective mm/dd/yyyy 10:00AM.Yep hardware inventory is the one you want.
Do you really need a software inventory every day?
http://be.enhansoft.com/post/2013/10/03/Slow-Software-Inventory-Cycle-in-SCCM-2012.aspx
You can also force a hardware inventory full / delta with the right click tools by now micro. it's a very good free addition. -

Hi,
How can we create a device collection based on only online machines , than use that collection to install the sccm client through client push method.
Shailendra DevYou can run a ping report and then create a collection from only the online machines:
Ping Report Script (Put the machine list in "pclist.txt" in the same folder):

Reg: Exporting the data into excel in ADF 11g application.
Hi All,
We have developed an application in ADF 11g which retrieves the data from database in the form of table. Now we have a requirement to export that data into an excel sheet.
Can anyone please help us regarding this.
Thanks,
HarshaHi Harsha,
you can use <af:exportCollectionActionListener /> component to do that. Set the exportedId property to point to of the table. You have options to export all rows or only selected rows.
<af:commandToolbarButton text="Export All Rows to Excel" immediate="true"
id="exportAll">
<af:exportCollectionActionListener type="excelHTML" exportedId="table"
filename="export.xls"
title="ADF Faces Export - All" exportedRows="all"/>
</af:commandToolbarButton>

During export from Discover to Excel, Time Format changes to Number Format
Hi
I have a seconds column which is of number datatype. But in my report, I am converting the number in *0HH:MI:SS* format. For example, I have *4952534 seconds*. So my report is showing *1375:42:14* which is a Time Format. It looks good when I view the data in Discoverer Viewer or Plus. But when I try to export the data to Excel, the time format gets converted to *4952534 seconds*, which is creating problems. So can you suggest on how can I preserve the formatting during export to excel from discoverer.
Thanks
SachinHi,
Excel will not implement the 0HH:MI:SS data format, it just gets the field as a number. You will have to format the field into text using the calculation from my previous post.

Export from ALV to Excel - problem with numeric values
hi folks,
when exporting from alv to excel and we have negative values (and using an u.s.a. setting where . and , are different to r/3) negetive values are not shown correctly in excel.
when changing in win nt the regional settings to europe one's (e.g. germany) everything works fine.
any hints welcome,
kind regards
oliverI guess this has something to do with the excel settings. In the control panel you have regional settings.try some options there. It might work.

Hyperion Web Analysis Studio - Excel Export Data PATH TO EXCEL
I have a problem with Hyperion Web Analysis Studio by Export Data (Path to Excel) function on every client (windows Vista - IE 7 - Office 2007)
The problem is when I try to use the Export data to Excel, the Path to the excel program is missing and I have to go manually over the directory and choose the excel.exe to export the report, when I restart the IE I have to do it again...
Hyperion support suggested I try adding the Excel path to my webanalysis.properties file
So I now have:
ExcelPath=C:\\Progra~1\\Micros~2\\OFFICE12\\EXCEL.EXE;C:\\Progra~1\\Micros~2\\OFFICE12
EXCEL.EXE
WordPath=C:\\Progra~1\\Micros~2\\OFFICE12\\WINWORD.EXE;C:\\Progra~1\\Micros~2\\OFFICE12
WINWORD.EXE
PPTPath=C:\\Progra~1\\Micros~2\\OFFICE12\\POWERPNT.EXE;C:\\Progra~1\\Micros~2\\OFFICE12
POWERPNT.EXE
MaxDataCellLimit=200000
XLExportMaxRows=60000
XLExportMaxColumns=200
ResolveDimSetAliases=false
ExportDataFullPrecision=true
To me this does not seem the way to go
This did not correct my problem.
Any ideas?
thanks
ErichHello,
Even we have the same issue.And changed the path in webanalysis.properties file.And it worked in entire report but in drillthru reports, export to excel 2010 didn't work and prompting to select the path to excel.Does anyone has solution for this?? -

Export crystal report to excel with subreport
I have a report with two subreport, and the question is when I export the main report to excel ( data only ) there is no data in the excel file, but when I just export the subreport to excel ( data only ), the excel file shows all data correctly. Does anybody know a solution can resolve this problem? Thanks.
1. Add one more Report Footer by right clicking on the Report Footer and selecting insert section below
2. Put Subreport 1 in the Report Footer a i.e. RFa
3.Put Subreport 2 in the Report Footer b i.e. RFb
4.Export the report to Excel Data Only.
5. You should be able to see the data for both the subreports -

How to export a table in excel (in JSP)???
hi all,
I am using AJAX functionality in jsp to export a table into Excel.But i don't want to use it as it gives a hyperlink whereas i want a button which should work similar to hypelink.
I mean to say i want a saperate export button which should work similar to the hyperlink.
if anybody has any idea abt it....plz reply it soon.......So what you want to do is redirect to a page when the user clicks the button?
So just put the button in a form with the action attribute set to wherever the hyperlink points now.
And in case the button is already a part of a form, then on the onClick() event of the button, change the action attribute of the form to this particular hyperlink target and then cause it to submit.
That ok?
Or do you want the Excel file you're generating to be sent to the browser causing it to popup a dialog asking the user to save or open? If so take a look here http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jspa?threadID=5170452&messageID=9655276 -
