Host Credentials Validation Error - Oracle database on Windows Server 2008
I am trying to log into an oracle database residing on a windows 2008 server through enterprise manager. I keep getting the error Validation error - . I have added my username to the "log on as bacth job" properties. but I still keep getting this error.
Try also adding:
Logon as a Service and Act as Part of the Operating System.
I assume you are using a domain account and not one that is local to the box being monitored, correct?
Also, in OEM, go to Preferences...Preferred Credentials and enter the user name and password that you are using for the Normal Username and Normal Password and then click test. If this works, you should be good to go.

JRE Error : while Install oracle 10gR2 on Windows Server 2003
Hello,
I am trying to install a Oracle 10gR2 on windows server 2003.
I have unziped the files and when I run the oui.exe it gives the below error:
cannot find any matches for wildcard specification "../stage/components/oracle.swd.jre/1.5.0.0./1/DataFiles/*.jar
Error : JRE missing in Scratch Path
I tried changing the oraparmaini file but it did not allow to make any changes.
Not sure if its looking for any particular java files.
What should i edit ,to specify the java location.
ThanksWhat exactly did you unzip? This error occurs if there are several zip-files extracted to different target locations. But - if I remember correctly - 10gR2 database is only one zip-file, so you should not face this issue. JRE for OUI is part of the downloaded software,so you don't need to specify a location for JRE, OUI knows where to find this.

I am trying to install Oracle 9i on Windows Server 2008
Hi
I am trying to install Oracle 9i on Windows Server 2008.
While installing third CD it shows the following error message
"jrew.exe has stopped working"
Please guide me what to do next as early as possible.
ThanksWhy?
The general policy of Oracle is very simple:
it certifies against the current version of the OS.
It never re-certifies against new releases of the OS.
Windows 2008 didn't exist when Oracle 9i was released.

Installing Oracle 10g on Windows Server 2008
Hi,
I want to install Oracle 10g on Windows Server 2008. As per Oracle, I should install 10.2.0.3 and then apply patchset 10.2.0.4.
For that, one has to sign in to metalink which is possible only for customers. I am
using Oracle only for educational purposes for now. Is there any other way of using Oracle 10g on Windows 2008?
Thanks,
VladiOf course if you don't have support and for educational purpose only , you should compromise a little by either install other OS or get virtual machine like VMware.
Or stay with 10.2.0.3, that should work in most cases. -
Oracle 10g on Windows Server 2003 Standard 64bit
We are running Oracle 10g on Windows Server 2003 Standard 64bit Edition. I am NOT a DBA, so forgive my ignorance.
We have 16GB of physical memory in this server. I was told by a DBA that Oracle runs on "a single process", and because of that, he said that Windows Server 2003 Standard will only allow 2GB max for a single process.
Can anyone confirm this? Thanks. This sounds more lika a Windows issue. If both Windows and app is "64-bit", I would expect the user virtual address space (per process) to be in the TiB range, if not larger.
(The said 2GiB limit applies to a 32-bit system.)

I have also installed the FMW version 11.1.1.2.0 using all four disks(Install and donot configure.)
I have also installed patch version 11.1.1.3.0.

How I can fix this error message in the Windows Server - "kCGErrorFailure: No workspace dictionary"? This occurs after every startup or restart.
You probably don't need the hard drive and optical drive specs, but here they are?

About memory issue during installing Oracle 11g on Windows Server 2003
Hi, all
When I installed Oracle 11g on Windows Server 2003 which the server is a virtual server, Oracle only can detect 2G memory.
But there are 4G memory with my server.
I want to know if the Oracle 11g's new feature or the virtual server lead the issue.
Also , I want to get your help to resolve the issue, thanks a lot.Let me get this straight:
You have created some virtual machine using someone's unknown VM software.
You have installed Windows Server 2003 (perhaps, but not confirmed 32-bit) to that VM.
You have allocated 4GB of memory to the VM (we guess ... not sure I'm ready to take your word on this)
You are attempting to install Oracle 11g (presumably 11gR1 32 bit for Windows) in the VM
And the Oracle (installer?) seems to be reporting that you only have 2GB RAM.
Since I personally have installed Oracle 11g 32bit for Windows on Windows 2003 server with 4GB RAM and had no issues, I would be investigating the (unknown) VM environment. -
Oracle 10gR2 on Windows Server 2003 R2
What is the patchset for Oracle 10gR2 on Windows Server 2003 R2? I have check 'Patches/Updates' tab but the patch p5337014_10203_WINNT.zip is ONLY dowloadable from Microsoft Windows (32 bit)
platform? Is there a separate 10.2.0.3 patch for Microsoft Windows 2003 (x86)
Version 2003 R2? Please advice.
My current Oracle version is 10.2.0.1 and I am trying to upgrade to 10.2.0.3I don't think that this is the place to ask about downloads external to OTN. See forum description. Questions about the patches from Metalink (after searching/reading existing Notes and still not coming up with a definitive answer) should in general be directed to Metalink (e.g. open a SR).
With that said.. If you are asking on how to retrieve the patch set via Metalink interface, then you should turn to Patches & Updates (one of the main tabs). Use e.g. Simple Search or Quick Links to the Latest... to drill down.
When you have found a patch set, the Patch Set readme documents system requirements and other vital information.
If you are looking for other information regarding patches and patching, the first place to look is again Metalink. Certification and supportability information can be found via Certify tab. There are several "tactical" Notes such as 161549.1 and 316900.1 useful for supporting your own procedures and for finding further information.

HELP! Oracle 9i on Windows Server 2003
Hi, if I go to download the 9.0.2.1.0 release 2 of Oracle 9i for Windows Server 2003 there is only a patch and another small zip file, and not the full 3 Disk zip files? Then if you read the release notes under the zip links it points to the 9.0.2.1.0 release 2 of Oracle 9i for Windows 2000/XP? And then talks about applying some patches...
Can someone confirm that I do need to install the 9.0.2.1.0 release 2 of Oracle 9i for Windows 2000/XP on the Windows 2003 Server and then apply these patches?
TIAThis is the release option for the Windows 2003 Server:
Oracle9i Database Release 2 Enterprise/Standard/Personal/Client Edition
for Windows Server 2003 (32-bit)
but like I mentioned above it only has a patch and another small zip file which is obviously not the complete Oracle9i database:
Here is the link to the release notes:

Oracle R12 on Windows Server 2008
Hi - does anyone have a good guide or link to a site that does a walk through of installing Oracle R12 on Windows Server 2008?
Thanks!Hi,
Thanks for the guide, anyone with experience in Windows, do you know if the Server goes to sleep, that once it is woken up, that the R12 instance would work fine? I think the application will not be accessible when the server does to sleep.
I would ideally like to let the Server go to "Sleep" when not in use. Once a user wants to test something, they can wake it up using WOL, then login to the instance. What is the point of letting the server goes to sleep? I would say that you may need to bounce some services then which is not a feasible solution -- You may verify this and try it yourself.

Hi, When I try to activate the Window Server 2008 Backup Features, the system prompt me an error. please review below message appear at event viewer. Not sure how it happen / solve it?
"Installation failed.

Error: Attempt to install Command-line Tools failed with error code 0x80070543. Cannot open an anonymous level security token"Hi,
Have you checked the link Simon provided? Any progress?
For your information, the Servermanager.msc is dependent on the .NET framework. Any improper modification of the "Default Authentication Level" will cause the COM
modules related to .NET framework abnormal. When we attempt to install of Roles and Features to impersonate as ANONYMOUS LOGON, this security context doesn’t have permission on any of the System Folders and hence we are failing with the above error listed.
To fix the issue, please configure the related settings to default as the KB971509 suggested.
Thanks.
