Export properties to an Excel file
Hello,
Is it possible to export all properties of each page and Iview to an Excel file?
Greetings,
Gene
Hi Gene,
No, but the documentation is MUCH better than three years ago :-] (there was no doc at all about these things, and nevertheless we started to develop such things and more).
Get used to it, and you will gain some knowledge you will be able to re-use for other problems...
Hope it helps

Exporting Tcode MKVZ to Excel File
Hi Experts,
I'm trying to export the output of tcode MKVZ (List of Vendors: Purchasing) to a local file in the format of spreadsheet. I successfully exported the file but when I reviewed the content on the excel file, some rows were missing and others were merge to other rows.
Please help me how can I export it properly on spreadsheet.
Regards,
RonaldHi Jürgen,
Your guess is absolutely right. I'm connecting to the sap system remotely so that's why I need to export it locally. Then, I choose the format spreadsheet. By default on the filename, there was already a .XLS extension, so I only need to add the name of the file then click the generate button. It was successfully generated. When I tried to open it on the excel, it always prompts me that the file I'm going to open is in a different format than the specified by the file extension. Still, I ignored the warning message since the excel file can read and open the file. But the data format was not on the right rows or columns.
Now I understand that it should be in a txt format before I import it to an excel file. But how come that the spreadsheet is not an excel format? I thought it is a format of excel.
Thanks so much for your help, assistance and patience.
Cheers!

Export internal table to Excel file pressing a new button created in ALV
Hello, I am trying to implement the functionality to export to excel file inside a button that i have created into my ALV. I don't want to use FileDownload UI.
The code I have set for event handler of this button is the following:
METHOD attach_files .
TYPES:
BEGIN OF tipo_alv_tab,
tipod TYPE objid,
descd TYPE p1000-stext,
begda TYPE begdatum,
endda TYPE enddatum,
pernr TYPE pernr_d,
nombre TYPE ad_namefir,
email TYPE ad_smtpadr,
posicion TYPE p1000-stext,
uodesc TYPE p1000-stext,
END OF tipo_alv_tab.
DATA:
i_alv_tab TYPE TABLE OF tipo_alv_tab,
conv_out TYPE REF TO cl_abap_conv_out_ce,
content TYPE xstring,
lv_filename TYPE string,
xml_out TYPE string.
Fill values from memory
IMPORT name1 TO i_alv_tab FROM MEMORY ID 'ZCA'.
Build XML file with internal table information
CALL TRANSFORMATION ('ID') SOURCE tab = i_alv_tab[] RESULT XML xml_out.
Build XSTRING with XML
CALL FUNCTION 'CRM_IC_XML_STRING2XSTRING'
EXPORTING
instring = xml_out
IMPORTING
outxstring = content.
Format XSTRING
conv_out = cl_abap_conv_out_ce=>create( encoding = 'UTF-8' ).
Convert data
conv_out->convert( EXPORTING data = xml_out IMPORTING buffer = content ).
Save file
CALL METHOD cl_wd_runtime_services=>attach_file_to_response
EXPORTING
i_filename = 'Excel File.xls'
i_content = content
i_mime_type = 'application/msexcel'
i_in_new_window = i_in_new_window
i_inplace = i_inplace.
ENDMETHOD.
When pressing the button, the file created is without extension, and with a rare name. When trying to open the file, it seems to be corrupted.
Does anyone know what am I doing wrong???
Please, help is really really appreciated!!!!Hi Jorge,
The export data to excel functionality is available inbuilt in ALV and you dont have to write any implementation. However, if you want to create your own button for it, you can do so as below.
data:
lr_button type ref to cl_salv_wd_fe_button,
lr_function type ref to cl_salv_wd_function.
CREATE OBJECT lr_button.
lr_button->set_text( 'Export to excel' ).
lr_button->set_tooltip( 'Export data to excel' ).
lr_function = l_alv_model->if_salv_wd_function_settings~create_function( id = 'EXCEL' ).
lr_function->set_function_std( IF_SALV_WD_C_STD_FUNCTIONS=>EXPORT_EXCEL ).
lr_function->set_editor( lr_button ).
Now, you have created your own button, created a user defined function for the ALV and set this button as editor for the function. And using the set_function_std method, we have just mapped the functionality of your new button to the existing export to excel functionality in ALV.
Hope this is what you are looking for.

How to export data to an excel file using VBScript
I'm trying to create a VBScript in DIAdem (V9.1) which automatically saves all the current channels in the data portal to an excel file. I've tried using 'Call ExcelExport' and specify a full file path but the file is never created. What am I doing wrong?
Thanks,
SteveHi Steve,
There are a couple of other things you can try. If you don't like Ingo's suggestion about multiple Excel STP files, your only real option is to create an ASCII file. Note that you can give the ASCII file an extension of *.CSV or even *.XLS, and Excel will read it right in.
So the question boils down to how to format the ASCII export correctly and quickly.
You can use the DAT file approach Ingo mentioned and even re-write the file with VBS to include a few header lines of your own choosing. Note that this approach does NOT support text channels. There is an example of this in the zip file attached below.
You can alternatively use the CSV export function in DIAdem 9.1 to output an ASCII file with the name of each channel as the single header row above all the values. There is an example of this in the zip file attached below.
You can also just read the values from the DIAdem channels and write them out to an ASCII file cell by cell, managing everything with VBScript calls. There is an example of this in the zip file attached below.
I hope that helps,

suggest me how can i handle this..
Thanks in Advance*.Hello Santosh,
Play with the below importing parameters in the function module "GUI_DOWNLOAD".
WK1_N_FORMAT - Format for value columns in files of the type WK1
WK1_N_SIZE - Column width for value columns in files of the type WK1
WK1_T_FORMAT - Format for text columns for files of the type WK1
WK1_T_SIZE - Column width for text columns for files of the type WK1.
It might help you I guess. Also read the documentation of those importing parameters by clicking on the long text green icon after the description in the IMPORTING parameters tab of the function module.

How to export report output into excel file
hi friends,
i would like to get the solution from you for how to export the report output into a .xls file. i know how to convert it into .rtf and .txt files but i think it's difficult to do this .xls way, could you help me to comeover this problem?
thankyou very much.The official answer is "delimited", which
generates adequate comma or other delimited
text. No formatting, and without extra
effort no support for non-ASCII characters.
Might be sufficient for you.
Note that Excel can read html files - we
built programs to generate html files with
name of "blah.xls" and some Excel-ish
extensions, so Excel is automatically opened
and the document is all nice and pretty.
(Oracle html output has some odd logic about
choosing number of columns, we didn't use
it.)

Hi All,
I'm new to SharePoint and Power BI.
I've to use share point 2013 lists to create power view reports. For that, I need to create Power Pivot in Excel 2013.
I'm fine with the above. We normally take a data feed of a list and create connection to that. We need to create a connection file (.odc) and export it into a excel file connection library of Share point. The connection to be made to share point list. The
power pivot will be having multiple related lists.
How can I create a connection file which is referring to share point list
Please suggest.
Regards,
JulieHi All,
Finally, I could find the answer for this question after a long search.
First of all, open a new excel file in server.
Data-->From other connection-->From data connection wizard-->data feed-->Location of the data feed-->
http://sharepointsite/sitename/_vti_bin/ListData.svc
-->next-->select the lists which you need-->next-->only create connection-->properties--->export connection file
-->ok
The connection file has been created and .odc file exported to the specified location.
Open power pivot and check the connection in existing connections.
Exported file has to be uploaded in Excel file connection library of share point 2013. So that you can refer the same in this excel file when you upload it into share point.

[CS3]How to export a table in InDesign to an excel file?
Hi,
Can any one tell me how to script the process of exporting a table to excel file in InDesign CS3 using javascript?
Thanks in advance.
myRiazSorry, no javaScript, but here are some lines from a localization tool that I made in VB. I simply loop through the Rows and Columns and use the Excel DOM to fill the Excel-cells.
Of course you can read amended/localized Excel files back into inDesign the same way, provided that the tables match (nr of rows and columns).
Afterwards you could loop through the characters of each cell to apply the formatting that you want to keep in Excel, such as SuperScripts.
Hope it helps you.
Set myExcel = CreateObject("Excel.Application")
myExcel.Visible = True
Set myTableBook = myExcel.Workbooks.Add
Set myTableSheet = myTableBook.Worksheets.Item(1)
myTableSheet.Columns.ColumnWidth = 35
myTableSheet.Cells.VerticalAlignment = xlVAlignTop
myTableSheet.Cells.WrapText = True
For R = 1 To myTable.Rows.Count
Set myTableRow = myTable.Rows.Item(R)
For C = 1 To myTableRow.Cells.Count
Set myTableCell = myTableRow.Cells.Item(C)
If Len(myTableCell.Contents) = 0 Then
myTableSheet.Cells(R, C) = ""
Else
myTableSheet.Cells(R, C) = myTableCell.Contents
myTableSheet.Cells(R, C).Value = Replace(myTableSheet.Cells(R, C).Value, "1397058884", "—")
myTableSheet.Cells(R, C).Value = Replace(myTableSheet.Cells(R, C).Value, Chr(13), Chr(10))
End If
Next C
Next R
good luck

Looking for example to export data from a DynPro table to Excel file
Hello,
I have a certain content in a table.
I would like to export this content to Excel file and let the user save it on his PC. I tried to use the Office Controller but with no success.
Have someone already made something like this and can show me an example?Hi
I already explained this in another post. Anyway i will cut and paste the same for you.Here you go.Sample way to create a Excel file and then download it to a local pc using a FileUI Download element.
We are developing a generic component for the same requirement which will download data to a excel from any table.
Anyway here is something which will give you some kind of idea as to how you can write the data from WebDynpro to a excel file.
For running this application
Ensure that the requisite JAR files are set for the Excel API's. See the blog link below.
Steps :
All your files in the machine running the WAS will be created in the default location
Alias : webdynpro/resources
Path : <Drive>:/usr/sap/J2E/JC00/j2ee/cluster/server0/temp/webdynpro/web
You can open your Visual Administrator and go to HTTP provider service and then create your own Alias. say
Alias : myAlias
Path : <Drive>:/mydirectory/myfiles
Once this is done restart your WebAS.
The code explained will perform the following.
There is a button UI element and a Download UI element. On click of the Action associated with the button ui element
The code below will create a excel file in the location mentioned.
On click of the download UI element you can view the excel file that was created.
Now create a New project in your NWDS
Follow the blog for importing the necessary jar files for Excel
/people/perumal.kanthan/blog/2005/03/21/reading-excel-data-from-java-using-hssf-api
Once that is done you can create say a button in your Webdynpro and associate it with a action.
Then you can write some code like the one below.
//Declare this in the end between the Begin others block.
private FileOutputStream out = null;
private HSSFWorkbook workBook = null;
private HSSFSheet hsSheet = null;
private HSSFRow row = null;
private HSSFCell cell = null;
private HSSFCellStyle cs = null;
private HSSFCellStyle cs1 = null;
private HSSFCellStyle cs2 = null;
private HSSFDataFormat dataFormat = null;
private HSSFFont f = null;
private HSSFFont f1 = null;
//Code to create the Excel.
public void onActionExportToExcel(com.sap.tc.webdynpro.progmodel.api.IWDCustomEvent wdEvent )
//@@begin onActionExportToExcel(ServerEvent)
try
out = new FileOutputStream("C:/mydirectory/myfiles/testexcel.xls");
workBook = new HSSFWorkbook();
hsSheet = workBook.createSheet("My Sheet");
cs = workBook.createCellStyle();
cs1 = workBook.createCellStyle();
cs2 = workBook.createCellStyle();
dataFormat = workBook.createDataFormat();
f = workBook.createFont();
f1 = workBook.createFont();
f.setFontHeightInPoints((short) 12);
// make it blue
f.setColor( (short)HSSFFont.COLOR_NORMAL );
// make it bold
// arial is the default font
f.setBoldweight(HSSFFont.BOLDWEIGHT_BOLD);
// set font 2 to 10 point type
f1.setFontHeightInPoints((short) 10);
// make it red
f1.setColor( (short)HSSFFont.COLOR_RED );
// make it bold
f1.setBoldweight(HSSFFont.BOLDWEIGHT_BOLD);
f1.setStrikeout(true);
cs.setFont(f);
cs.setDataFormat(dataFormat.getFormat("#,##0.0"));
// set a thick border
cs2.setBorderBottom(cs2.BORDER_THICK);
// fill w fg fill color
cs2.setFillPattern((short) HSSFCellStyle.SOLID_FOREGROUND);
cs2.setFillBackgroundColor((short)HSSFCellStyle.SOLID_FOREGROUND);
// set the cell format to text see HSSFDataFormat for a full list
cs2.setDataFormat(HSSFDataFormat.getBuiltinFormat("text"));
cs2.setFont(f1);
cs2.setLocked(true);
cs2.setWrapText(true);
row = hsSheet.createRow(0);
hsSheet.createFreezePane(0,1,1,1);
for(int i=1; i<10;i++)
cell = row.createCell((short)i);
cell.setCellValue("Excel Column "+i);
cell.setCellStyle(cs2);
workBook.write(out);
out.close();
//Read the file that was created.
FileInputStream fin = new FileInputStream("C:/mydirectory/myfiles/testexcel.xls");
byte b[] = new byte[fin.available()];
fin.read(b,0,b.length);
fin.close();
wdContext.currentContextElement().setDataContent(b);
catch(Exception e)
wdComponentAPI.getComponent().getMessageManager().reportException("Exception while reading file "+e,true);
//@@end
You can now add a Download UI Element to the layout.
Create a Context Attribute say "dataContent" and this should be of Type Binary.
The Data property of the File UI download element should be mapped to dataContent.
In the init method write code like
This is done for the download element.
IWDAttributeInfo attInfo = wdContext.getNodeInfo().getAttribute("dataContent");
IWDModifiableBinaryType binaryType = (IWDModifiableBinaryType) attInfo.getModifiableSimpleType();
//In addition the FileDownload UI element needs for defined resource types
binaryType.setFileName("testexcel.xls");
binaryType.setMimeType(WDWebResourceType.XLS);
Hope that helps you. Anyway its a sample and it should be helpful for you to see how you can modify it and of course maintain some standards in coding unlike the test sample given above :).
Let me know if you require further clarifications

Export to Excel - File Name WAD 7.0
Hi All,
I am using Export to Excel Functionality with WAD 7.0 to export the report to excel format.
I have used button web item, with an excel picture above it. The functionality works fine.
But while exporting the name of excel file shown is WAD 7.0 name.
ex. My WAD 7.0 name is IFIOP_C07_W700, the excel file also gets saved in this name.
I want it to be made customizable.
Can you throw some pointers.
Thanks,
Sri Arun PrianHi,
i have the same issue now where i need to populate the xport file name as report name. can you send me your solution please. -
Introduction
There is a scenario that a report grouped by one field for some reasons, then the users want to export each group data to separated Excel files. By default, we can directly export only one file at a time on report server. Is there a way that we can split
the report based on the group, then export each report to Excel file?
Solution
To achieve this requirement, we can add a parameter with the group values to filter the report based on the group, then create a data-driven subscription for the report which get File name and parameter from the group values.
In the report, create a parameter named Name which use the Name field as Available Values (supposing the group grouped on Name field).
Add a filter as below in the corresponding tablix:
Expression: [Name]
Operator: =
Value: [@Name]
Deploy the report. Then create a data-driven subscription with Windows File Share delivery extension for the report in Report Manager.
During the data-driven subscription, in the step 3, specify a query that returns the Name field with the values as the group in the report.
In the step 4 (Specify delivery extension settings for Report Server FileShare), below “File name”option, select “Get the value from the database”, then select Name field.
Below ‘Render Format’ option, select Excel as the static value.
In the step 5, we can configure parameter Name “Get the value from the database”, then select Name field.
Then specify the subscription execute only one time.

Reporting Services 2008
Reporting Services 2008 R2

Please click to vote if the post helps you. This can be beneficial to other community members reading the thread.Thanks,
Is this a supported scenario, or does it use unsupported features?
For example, can we call exec [ReportServer].dbo.AddEvent @EventType='TimedSubscription', @EventData='b64ce7ec-d598-45cd-bbc2-ea202e0c129d'
in a supported way?
Thanks! Josh
