Export spreadsheet to Mailing Labels

I have taken over the job as PR person for a volunteer organization. We have a mailing list with over 700 people on it. The former PR person kept the list in Excel; she emailed it to me and I imported it into Numbers '08. How do I create mailing labels with this list? (I don't want to put all these people into my Address Book — I don't know them, I don't want to clutter up my Address Book with them, and I don't want to retype all that information. Thank you.

I used AppleWorks for this task for years too.
Now I am using Numbers '09 and Pages to print these Avery Labels.
One more time I will give the way to do that :

Expand it
Read carefully the given explanations then apply them.
This soluce is unavailable for Numbers '08 which is now a more than 2 years old which is really old for a computer app.

  • Exporting a mailing label report to PDF shifts the address off ...

    Hi.
The report is created using the wizard "File->New->Mailing Label Report". Everything looks good at the preview. Following are the dimensions:
    - 4 X 1 inches
    - 2 labels across, 10 down
    - Paper would be 8-1/2 X 11 inches (Letter sized) (labeled) paper
    - 0.5 inches page margin on top and bottom
    - 0.156 inches left & right margins
    - Horizontally .188 inches between labels
    - Vertically NO space between labels
For this, in the Crystal Reports Designer, I used Mailing Label Type = "Address (Avery 5261)".
    Issue
However, when trying to export the report to PDF and when we print the report, addresses go off the labels (shifts up slightly starting from the begining). It looks like the font sizes, etc are not maintained. Therefore, visually, addresses shifts up gradually and does not fall into labels.
    Other specific details
The first address was too low, I mean after .5 inches top margin, this first address started to appear .4 inches down the margin. If we measure from top of one address to the top of next one, it is about .9 inch and not 1 inch.
Later I tried this [template|http://www.worldlabel.com/Pages/crystal-reports.htm] as well. I faced the same issue.
Had anyone worked with mailing labels report faced similar issue?
    I appreciate your help

  • How to Export from Numbers 09 to Address Book or print mailing labels?

I need to know how to export contact information that is part of a Numbers sheet to Address Book and to be able to print mailing labels. I do not have to print from Address Book but do need to produce address labels. I've tried a number of things from the help menus in Numbers 09, Address Book, Word and Excel for MAC 2011. I probably just don't have a grasp fo what I'm supposed to do. Thanks much!

    nushuz,
I can sympathize if you're having trouble following the directions. Address Book will reject what looks like a perfectly good CSV file if it doesn't like the data it finds inside.
Here's what I have found to be the best way to create a CSV from Numbers for Address Book import...
Drag an Address Book contact to a Blank Sheet in Numbers. That's a Sheet in which you have deleted the default table.
This will give you a properly formatted table for conversion to CSV, and you just have to add all your contact data to the table you just created. Before you begin though, it's a good idea to Unhide all Hidden Columns, and there are probably many. Hover over any Column Label and click the menu triangle, selecting "Unhide All Columns", or words to that effect.
After you have all your data situated in the table, Share > Export > CSV and then Import to Address Book.

  • Has anyone tried exporting the mailing labels report to PDF or Editable RTF

Mailing Labels Format - Universal 80104 Equivalent to Avery #5961, 4X1. We used "Mailing Labels" option while creating the report in the designed (11.5). In the designer, when we go File->New->Mailing Label...we used this.
    From the Crystal Designer:
Printing directly or exporting it to Editable RTF Word and print works great.
When tried to export to PDF and print, things get messed up. Initial few on the page fall into the labels, rest just does not align to labels. Fonts seems small, and the label display seems shifted up, etc.
From our Web App, opening in the crystal report viewer and exporting to any format to print does not work at all. I mean addresses does not fall into the labels.
Does anyone experience same kind of issue?
    Please help me.
    Thanks

  • Is it possible to print mailing labels from an excel spreadsheet in Macbook pro?

How do you print mailing labels from an excel spreadsheet on a macbook pro? Is it possible. I can only find information about printing labels from your address book.

Why not ask in MacBook Pro forum, or SL, or even MS community or MacTopia.
Office 2011? pretty easy to setup mailing, just click on ribbon tab, and use the built in help.

  • Can I transfer appleworks databases to some other app in order to print mailing labels?

Can I transfer appleworks databases to Bento or elsewhere on my new MacBook Pro in order to print mailing labels, or do I have to re-enter all the information?

Word Processing documents can be opened directly in Pages 4 (AppleWorks 6 only) but this is no longer available - the newPages 5 (Mavericks required) does not open AppleWorks documents. Panergy Software's docXConverter v3.2 ($19.95) can convert Appleworks 5 and 6 Word Processing documents to RTF (though it has been reported that it can only handle documents which contain only text, not those which include images or frames). The latest version of the free LibreOffice has announced that it can open AppleWorks 6 Word Processing documents: it does appear to be able to handle at least some embedded images.
Draw Documents can be opened directly only in EazyDraw (the more expensive version from their website, not the cheaper one from the Mac App Store, and you will need v4.0 'Retro' not the most recent version) or Intaglio (though this appears not to be able to handle very complex drawings).
Spreadsheets can be opened directly only in the older versions of  Numbers - the new version for Mavericks will not do this. The old version is no longer available.
Presentations can be opened directly only in the older versions Keynote again the new version for Mavericks will not do this. The old version is no longer available.
To use other programs, or open Painting or Database documents at all, you must export from AppleWorks first. Nothing will open AW database documents.
If you have upgraded to Lion/Mountain Lion/Mavericks and have AppleWorks documents you cannot open, then you should be able to install Snow Leopard on an external hard disk and start from that (provided that the Mac did not come with anything higher than Snow Leopard originally installed); and success has been reported in running Snow Leopard under emulation in Parallels - the method is described here: it seems complex; however Snow Leopard Server may still be available in the Apple Store (by telephone) at a reduced price and this makes the process a lot easier. I haven't tried either method: use at your own discretion. You can then run AppleWorks as an emergency measure.

  • Import Numbers spreadsheet and Print labels

I am looking for a way to do a bulk mailing / mail merge project WITHOUT using any Microsoft products. I know with Microsoft, I can create an Excel spreadsheet with columns for Company name, address and zip codes. Then I can export/import them into a Avery mailing label and print these labels out. I am going to have over 1000 addresses and certainly don’t want to ad all these to my contacts on the Mac side. I have Pages and Numbers, so I am looking for a way to do this without having to use anything by Microsoft. After all, this was my reason for leaving behind the PC world after 25 years. Also, it would be very helpful if there was a way to scan these addresses in and then import them somehow, some way so that I don’t have to manually enter all this information. Somebody, please help me. Thank you in advance.

Here are a couple of techniques posted previously.
This one uses an Applescript, available at the address shown in the message by Yvan Koenig.
See ElViejo1939's post in this thread for a technique using Mail merge to a Pages merge document, then collapsing that document into pages of labels.

  • Can I print mailing labels with a "The ____ Family" as the name?

I know how to print mailing labels from my contacts, but I would like to be able to print the labels showing only the last name of the person inserted into "The ___ Family" in life of the full name.  Like The Smith Family rather than Bill Smith.  I was able to do this using outlook and my old PC.  As a new Mac user, I have been unable to figure this one out.  Any help would be much appreciated.

It's a piece of junk fore those which are too dumb to read Numbers User Guide and iWork Formulas and Functions User Guide.
I used (and continue to use) AppleWorks for years but when I need a new spreadsheet document, I build it in Numbers whose unique drawback is that it's slow.
Those which took time to search in existing threads know that there are at least two easy ways to create labels with Pages and Numbers.

How can I change fonts in my address book so I can print clever mailing labels?

Hello, I think you'll have to Export them & use another Application...
How to Export Your Mac OS X Mail Address Book Contacts to a CSV File...
Export Your Mac OS X Mail Address Book Contacts to a CSV File
To save your contacts from the Mac OS X Address Book to a CSV (comma-separated values) file, which lets you import the data to many other address books:
    Download and install AB2CSV.
    Open AB2CSV.
Select Mode | CSV from the menu.To configure which fields will be exported, you can select AB2CSV | Preferences… from the menu and go to the CSV tab.
Now select File | Export from the menu.
    Go to your Documents folder.
    Click Choose.
The exported address book contacts are saved to a file called "everyone.csv" in your Documents folder.

  • How to print editable mailing labels from Address Book?

I am once again working on Holiday Mailing Labels (450 pple) and needing to export editable mailing labels from a smart group in my Address Book.  but I can only print out non-editable pdf labels.  Is there a way around this?  Editable labels are vital!! Can I export my contacts to a file that can be imported into Microsoft Word Labels Mail Merge?

I have the same problem. After much searching for easy solutions, I just added a user account on my mac, and use the address book/contacts for the end of year mailings. This meant copying, manually, a lot of contacts! At the same time as they were entered the edits were made. I can make edits ongoing within these lists without changing the contacts in my personal user account. There oughta be a better way!!!

  • Using address book to print mailing labels

    Hi all
I am trying to print mailing labels using the addresses in my address book. In the past, I had a PC and was able to put in a title such as "The Smith Family" and it would be simply applied to all labels by exporting only the last name and of course the address. How do I do this using address book?
Thanks so much for your tips.

Here's a way to get somewhat similar behavior. Hopefully you can adjust it to get the best result.
1 - Select a card that you want to print
2 - Choose the Card > Add Field > Related Names menu item. If that menu item is grayed out, you can just press the Edit button
3 - Find the related names fields in the card. They have default labels of "friend" and "assistant". Click on one of the labels and change it to "spouse"
4 - In the field for the spouse label, type "Family" for example
5 - Press Edit to close the editor and save the card, then print
Now the envelope or label will be addressed "Bill Gates and Family".

  • Can I use my Address Book to create a data base and then merge from it to create mailing labels?

Is it possible to use my Address Book to create a data base and then merge from it to create mailing labels?
    Thanks,
    CF

I know one way, it is not elegant but it does work.
    1. Open Thunderbird. (download here: https://www.mozilla.org/EN/thunderbird/)
    2. Click on Address Book.
    3. On the left in the new window is a list of your Address books and groups. Select the one you want.
Your addresses will appear to the right.
    4. In Thunderbird / Tools select Export, and Save as "Comma Separated".
You can open that list of addresses in Excel or in FileMaker Pro. Mail merge proceeds from there.

  • Exporting multiple e-mails as .pdf

I'm responsible for coordinating a multi-author, book-writing project and I've been asked to store all e-mail correspondences in a fashion that allows all of the authors and project managers to access the e-mails. I have a shared folder set up on my Google drive that allows all the users to access shared files which is working fantastically, but I can't find a way to export large quantities of e-mails at the same time that also works for Google drive.
After a quick Google search I found this site which provided instructions on how to install this set of scripts which allowed me to archive my selected e-mails as .rtf files with their attachments. It works great and allows me to customize the naming of the files to allow other authors to easily locate a specific e-mail. It names each file "From %f to %t - %s - %M %d, %Y.rtf" where %t is the recipient, %f is the sender, %s is the subject/thread topic and %M %d, %Y is Month day, year (eg To John Smith from Jane Doe - Book Project - December 12, 2012.rtf).
Unfortunately, after uploading the folder containing all these .rtf files I found out that .rtf can't be viewed on Google and must be downloaded then opened on the user's computer. To fix this I tried having Google automatically convert the files to Google docs as it uploaded the files, but this didn't work and even if it did I fear the files would lose their attachments.
I then tried searching for scripts that would allow me to change all of the .rtf files to .pdf. I found and tried a few, but they all had problems (the script would only operate on pre Mountain Lion, the requires Word for Mac, etc.)
Then I tried finding a script that would work like the first successful one, but export the files as .pdf rather than .rtf. I couldn't find anything, but found an article that reminded me I could print to .pdf from mail ("Save as PDF..." in the system print window). I tried doing this, but after 'printing' the first of all the e-mails an error box pops up and no more e-mails 'print.' If I "Open PDF in Preview" I can successfully save all of the e-mails as .pdf, but their file names are all Preview of "<e-mail subject>".pdf which isn't helpful because nearly all correspondences in the group have a subject like "Book" or "Book Project" meaning it'd be impossible to determine which e-mail is which by the .pdf filename.
I feel like their are a lot of different routes I can take to solve this problem, I just need help finding the components:
    1. Use the first successful script to export as .rtf, then use another script to convert them to .pdf. This would be the best because it will allow me to use a useful filenaming system. To do this I need a script that can convert .rtf to .pdf on my system.
    2. Find a script like the first, successful script I used that allows me to export the e-mails as a .pdf using the subject, to/from, etc. as the filename.
    3. Open PDF in Preview, save, then use a script to rename all the files by extracting the subject, to/from and date from the .pdfs. To do this I need a script that can find the subject, etc. in the .pdf and use that data to change the file name. (I highly doubt such a script exists and I don't have the script-writing skills to create one myself.)
    4. Any other solution that allows me to take a lot of e-mails from my Mail app and upload them to my Google drive while maintaining attachments and generating logical filenames.
    5. Any other solution that makes it possible for me to make correspondences available for all authors to access (keeping in mind that cross-platform compatibility is essential).
    Suggestions?

I found your first suggestion while doing a Google search. That post was made in mid-2011, almost a year before Mountain Lion released. Apple changed the way scripts work in Mountain Lion and this script no longer works.
As far as I can tell, the second solution only works for printing one e-mail to a .pdf at a time and doesn't support batch filenaming.
