Export to Excel for multiple dataproviders in WAD

Hello Guys,
I need a quick note on the requirement. Is there any possible solution to get data from different data providers used in WAD exported into one excel sheet.
The backend is 2004s but WAD used is 3.5.
Actual scenario is there are 8 different data providers in WAD with a different query assigned to each data provider. Right now 8 different buttons are provided for Export to Excel for 8 different data providers.
This works fine bringing data in 8 different excel sheet. But users feel this is very annoying task and they need data from all 8 data providers in one single excel sheet.
So is there any way to achieve this. I have assumed this to be a long associated problem with 3.5 WAD but i thought there might be a way around.
Please help me with a solution or either your view on this.
Regards,
Shashank

Shashank,
This is an oft repeated requirement ... but then export to excel is dataprovider specific and in WAD each dataprovider corresponds to a single table and getting all the data together is not possible .... but then there might be some other work around - you can check the forums for the same where options for the same have been discussed.

    Hi Members,
Does any one know how to export Crystal Report to Excel in multiple sheets in the same Excel workbook.
Suppose I have report grouped by Designation as Managers,Tech Leads,Team Leads,Senior Developers etc. Now I want to export to Excel in multiple sheets as Sheet1-Managers,Sheet2-Tech Leads,-Sheet3-Team Leads,Sheet4-Senior Developers etc.
Is there any possibility in Crystal Report event or CrystReportViewer?
If not then is then workaround to achieve this feature without using Excel COM object.

  • Export to Excel functionality for Multiple tabs in WAD

    Hi,
I have a requirement where in i need to export a report from WAD to excel. The WAD template has multiple tabs which i want individually in seperate excel sheet tabs. How can i achieve this ?
    Regards
    Snehith.

    Hi,
have a global button (some where on the top) with command 'export to excel' and configure all your analysis item for that button. So when u execute the template and when u click on individual tab, the report out from individual tab will be exported to excel when u click on Export to excel button. In this way u can individually export the output to excel.

  • Error when exporting to Excel for SharePoint 2010 List

We have few users who are getting the following error message when they try to export to Excel from the SharePoint list:
"An operation that uses the database driver could not be completed. If the driver is a Microsoft driver, make sure the driver file isn’t damaged, and if it is, reinstall the driver by reinstalling Microsoft Query. For other drivers, contact
your database administrator or driver vendor.‘
The export option works for me on my machine and also tested it out on other users' machines without issues. The list is currently holds 29763 items.
    1. Created a view that filter the list to show few items, and the user was able to export without issues.
    2. Followed the steps in the following Blog:
http://www.sharepointserverrecovery.com/blog/troubleshooting-problems-when-exporting-sharepoint-list-data-to-excel-spreadsheet-and-fixing-database-corruption/ and the user was able to export the original list.
    3. My colleagues and I don't have any issues exporting to Excel. (Note: even my test account, that does not have any special permissions or members of any SharePoint group(s)).
    4. Some Blog/Forums suggest to increase Threshold limit in Central Admin, which we don't want to do, since the issue only affect certain users.
Any idea on how to troubleshoot/resolve the issue?
    Thanks,
    Yassar

Do they have to export all the information or is a subset of it ok?
Creating an index on the columns that your users interact with the most and then creating views that limit the returned results will be useful.  This will then allow an export.

  • Best way to create dataset to be exported in Excel for further elaboration

    Hello experts!
I need help with some of my custormers, that perform their work in a way that I partially disagree.  They work in BOXI R3.1 SP3.
They use webi on top of relational universes (DWH layer in Oracle DB).
We created reports in webi that cover their standard analysis, but for their spot analysis they find difficult to work in webi.
I think that it partially depends on lack of known of the tool (even if they have been trained).
Anyway they need a solution to this issue:
they wont create in webi a basic set of information inserting reclassifications of information and some calculation in webi. Then they need to export information in excel to do their on spot calculations. Those dataset are often big, so they find following issues:
1)they tried to use Live Office to import the table they need but the limit of the datastream size is reached quickly (currently limit is 50Mb in our settings , but is reached even from report that exported with Save to my computer As Excel are not more than 10Mb ). I discussed with B.O. administrator and increasing much more this treashold affects general  performances of other services.
2)Exporting in excel with Save As is quite cumbersome and they can't use .xlsx format as it is only supported by BI4.0 .So they get tables with more than 64K rows splitted over many sheets.
3)They also tried to export in CSV format to eventually further elaborate in Access, but .CSV only retrieve the information of the Microcube extracted by the query, not the data elaborated in the report.
Anyone can suggest further ways to behave?
    Kind regards.
    Roberto.

    there are 3 options I see :
    1. Learn to use webi, it can do everything excel can and more
    2. I question ability of anyone to deal with that much data in excel, you should agregate data on DB side and push most of calculations there. Then your exports will be much smaller.
Better designed semantic layer will allow your users to get needed data quicker and in less volume, making their work in webi or in excel easier.
    3. Use DF/DI products as ETL tools into your Excel users.

  • Tranlation of text 'Export nach Excel' for ALV in WD ABAP

    Hi,
I've created a WD that uses an ALV component. The problem I have is related to standar ALV texts. There are several buttons in the ALV header but just one is important in this case. The one is 'Export nach Excel'.
I execute the WD for Spanish language but this text always appears in German. The funny thing is that if I execute in English the text appears translated in English. Spanish language is loaded in the system so this is not the problem.
I've tried to find this 'Expot nach Excel' text in Se63 but without success. Also I had a look to table LTDXT with no luck.
Any ideas where I can find this text and translate it into Spanish?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
there might be incomplete language transports in your system or other things. But first you could position the cursor on the button in the application and then press F1. Then the help information is displayed together with the technical information where you should see the technical info about the object.

  • Exporting/Loading properties for Multiple Numeric steps

So, my test uses quite a few 'Multiple Numeric' test steps.
I am just looking at using the property loader to import all of these limit values.
Now as i understand each test step in the property file (excel im y case) must have multiple columns (for each index in the data array)
I also understand that the easiest way to generate the excel properties file is to export it before adding the values.
Now, I am using the 'tools - import/export properties' window, and i try to add Step.Result.Measurement[x].Limits.Low but it is not available.
There is an entry for Step.Result.Measurement[?].HighExpr, so i can add that, then change it to [0], [1] etc
Is there not a way to add all of the array items at once?
I need '.comp' '.Limits.Low' '.Limits.High' for each array element.
    Have i missed something obvious?
    Labview 2010, TestStand 2010

    Hi, I;m using 2010.
I'll give a more specific case:
In one of my multiple numeric tests i have the limit expression : Step.Result.Measurement["ck1+"].Limits.High
(I even tryed removing the alias and using : Step.Result.Measurement[0].Limits.High)
This can be found in the expression browser tree.
But this does not appear in the tree of expressions when using the properties import/export window.
The only items that do are: Result.Measurement[?].Limits.LowExpr & Result.Measurement[?].Limits.HighExpr
i have tried manual editing entries there, but they are ignored when exporting.

  • Export to Excel - WAD with 2 tabs

    Hello
I've got a WAD with a container which contains 2 tabs
Container 1 is linked  to the first tab
Container 2 is linked to a second tab.
There is one query on each tab.
When we export to Excel one tab, Excel shows technical ID of the WAD.
Is there a possibility to display title of the tab instead of WAD techincal ID ?
    Thanks & Regards
    Catherine

    Hi Catherine,
    This is a Tricky question.......
Let say you have placed Container1(which has some data) under Tab1 and Container2 under Tab2 and Export to Excel.
Now if you perform Export to Excel for Container1 data, then the data will be exported into Excel where the name of the tab(Tab1) won't be displayed as a worksheet name in Excel. It will always show Name of the Web Template and not the tab name.
So whatever you seen is as expected. You can't export a web template which has multiple tabs into Excel with the same way as it shown in web.
    Hope this clarifies you.

  • Exporting to Excel, subreport column alignment problem

    Post Author: rmayer
    CA Forum: Exporting
I have a Crystal Report (v10) that contains a subreport in the Details section.  The subreport contains only a single field in its Details section and all other sections are suppressed.  When I run the report and export to Excel, for each main report detail having multiple rows returned in its subreport, the first subreport row will display the field where it is expected, but for every subsequent row the field will be shifted one column to the right.  What is even more peculiar is that if I preview the subreport data by itself and do the export, the fields do line up in the same Excel column.
    Any suggestions will be appreciated.

    Gayatry,
Did you try the following Export options?
    1. Export Page Headers and Footers: On Each Page
    2. Create Page Breaks for Each Page
When exported with these options the page Header and Footer section was exported as it was in the report.
    Hope this helps you.

  • Exporting to Excel - Macro Problems

For reasons unknown to us, when we export our crosstab reports from Discoverer 4i to Excel(2000 or 2003), we are getting a dialog message box warning us of the following, "The document you are opening contains macros. Some macros may contain harmful viruses. If you are sure this document is from a trusted source, Click Yes. If you are not sure and want to prevent any macros from running, click No." If we click Yes, then it will download two sheets, the first complete with drop down boxes etc and the second sheet just contains the regular crosstab report that we used to get but with formatting included, aka grey shaded columns etc. We checked the ExcelExportWithMacros pref and it is set to 0, the macro security on Excel is set to medium.
    Any ideas would be welcome.
    Thank you

The macro warning is something that's well known when exporting to Excel. Just for grins, try putting your security at low to see if it still warns. There may be some kind of macro that gets sent with the export (this has been discussed before), but not really sure. However, many clients I've been at just accept it and click Yes. I believe it's a 4.x thing (ie: I hope it's been corrected in 10g), but haven't tried that yet to be sure.
As for the export having more than one worksheet, I believe I remember that this is also a known 'challenge' (ie: it doesn't just come out like a pivot table in 1 worksheet) and again, I'm pretty sure it's only a 4.x thing.
Also, are there 2 options for exporting to Excel for a xtab (ie: export to Microsoft Excel Workbook (.xls), Microsoft Excel Pivot Table (.xls)? If so, try each as the first is for static sheet only info and the latter exports a 'static sheet', a 'pivot table' and 'warning sheet'.
Also see metalink doc: 214075.1 for one possibility.
Also see metalink doc: 157162.1 for another idea.

  • Export to Excel with formulas

I have a requirement to produce reports that can be exported to Excel along with cell calculation formulas. The cell formulas will do the same calculations as done in the report. The reports will be created in our company using Oracle Reports, then exported to Excel for use by our customer. This is a government requirement (who else!) to allow them to do "what if" scenarios with the reported data. Is there any way to populate Excel worksheet cells with formulas as well as data? The reports will vary in length and content depending on user selections so I can't take a "one size fits all" approach.
Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Can't you use the same library to do that? Apache POI for instance has formula support

  • Issue with export in Excel in WAD

    Hi
I have an issue with export to excel in WAD. I have a web template with two or more tabs.
On the webtemplate I have two buttons to export to excel. One to export the content from the active tab and one button to export content in all tabs.
My problem is that when I export to excel it always add the current/active content twice. I've tried with both buttons and they work as expected except that they export one table to much (the active).
can anyone help / give a clue what to look for.

  • Problem exporting to excel when using embedded web templates through WAD

Using web templates designed with WAD, we are experiencing an issue when trying to export excel when using embedded web templates.
We have set up tabstrips within our templates that load other templates (embedded into the global template).
Upon right clicking on any query and choosing "Export to Excel", any query that is in one of the tabs using the embedded web template item does not show up.  Any queries in natively in the global web template will export and show up fine.
Any thoughts on how to enable something like this, or workarounds to make this work?  We decided to split up these templates for performance reasons and can't go back from that decision.  Also let me know if you need a better explanation of what we're trying to do.
    Thanks in advance!
    Jonathan

    Hi SDBI,
Is this in place of loading a new template per tab?  We are using container layouts in all of our templates so we can link things into tabstrips as well, we have just split up some templates to be embedded into tabs for performance reasons and data locking.
Also when exporting, we are looking for all of the items displayed at that time to be exported, however only the items from the global template show up, not all of the displayed queries.  For example, anything outside of the tabstrip will export perfectly, but since the query embedded into the template the tabstrip is loading is not part of the native web template, it does not show up.
Seems like a tool limitation to me when embedding templates?
    Thanks,
    Jon
