Export to Excel problem in Signal Express 2012

Equipment used: PXIE-8102 CELERON T3100 1.9GHZ Controller Windows 7, PXIE-1071 4 Slot Chassis, PXIE-4140 4-Channel SMU 1.7.5 version.
I am using Signal Express 2012 and the SMU to plot the I/V characteristics of FET and other active devices. I am able to obtain the anticipated curve traced results but I am not able to Export the data to Excel directly from the Data View using the Microsoft Excel option. The error message is: Data could not be sent to Microsoft Excel. Please ensure you have a properly licensed version of Microsoft Excel. See attachment.
We have checked our version of Microsoft Office, it is Professional Plus and has the correct volume license so it does not revert to a home or student version.
I have been able to use the Export to Excel function directly from the Dataview when I was using one of the waveform tutorials supplied with Signal Express so I suspect it is a function of the SMU.
In conversations with an NI support engineer he felt it may be a problem with "an active x call is just not seeing the license for some reason", his suggestion is to drag the data into Excel rather than use the Data view tab. Because the SMU is being used in a production environment it is not really appropriate to have the operator work at this level so I would rather figure a way to have the data exported using the Data View tab.
Anyway please can you let me know if there are any known work around for this issue.
Thank you

  • ALV Export to Excel problem

    Hi All
I have a problem with exporting a ALV Grid to Excel. If I add the quantity field to my Grid output the excel spreadsheet does not bring through the quantity field and it puts all the other columns one place out. I tried changing field attributes from QUAN to CHAR field and it made no difference.
I am using the standard sap functionality:
List > Save > Local File > Spreadsheet
It works fine as long as I do not include my quantity column? I have tried many other custom FM's with no luck because all of them require you to put in a internal table inside the function but I do not want to send whole internal table to spreadsheet only the ones selected in the ALV Grid. So please do not suggest function modules as I have had no luck with these!
I need to know how to use the standard sap alv export to excel function with my quantity field? The only issue I can think of that would cause a error would be that I have 50+ columns on the grid and internal table. Even If I put quantity field by itself in the grid then export to excel it brings through the Qty header but no data.

    Cyril,
Thank You For your tip. But the problem of export To excel could be solved after I renamed the Crxf_xls.dll in the  <%System root%> /Crystal folder which allowed the dll U2fxls.dll to Excel export work just as fine as explained in the Knowledge Base of Bussiness Object.

  • Export to Excel Problem external DC using Web Dynpro binary cache

    Hallo,
I want to export from Web Dynpro to Excel. For this I study the Tutorial "Excel Export Using the Web Dynpro Binary Cache".
The example is running without a problem.
I have create a new DC only for excel export. The name is ExcelExportWD. In this DC I create a Component and programmed the methods of the example. Also I create the View and the Context for it.
This DC is used in other DCs. I put the Component to the public part. After than I make the entry in the used DCs in that DC which I want to use the Excel export. I use the DC ExcelExportWD in the DC ContactsWD.
The ContactsWD is running without a problem.
If I try now to export to Excel I got the following error.

  • Problems activating signal express 2.0 in labview

    Hello,
I have purchased a copy of LabVIEW Base Edition 8.2.1 and Signal Express 2.0.  I receive the following error when I create a LabVIEW VI containing a Signal Express VI (in this case a Signal Express Create Signal VI):
    NI_MAPro.lvib:
This library is invalidly licensed for this computer.  Please contact your National Instruments sales representative to request an upgrade to access the functionality of this library.
    NI_Gmath.lvib:
This library is invalidly licensed for this computer.  Please contact your National Instruments sales representative to request an upgrade to access the functionality of this library.
    NI_AALPro.lvib:
This library is invalidly licensed for this computer.  Please contact your National Instruments sales representative to request an upgrade to access the functionality of this library.
I have activated both the LabVIEW application and the Signal Express application and they both work fine indepedently.

Some SignalExpress 2.0 Express VIs require functionality that is only available in LabVIEW Full or Pro.  Therefore, if you have LabVIEW Base and drop the Create Signal Express VI, your VI will be broken.  (If you convert the Create Signal Express VI to a subVI, you could find the VIs in question).

  • Export to Excel - Problem with extra rows

Hi have a report that has 3 groups. I suppress the group headers and am using the group footers for totals.
When I export to excel, I get extra rows in the excel file for the suppressed sections. How can I get rid of these?
    Thanks,
    Linda

I can use this to get out additional rows on my excel export. However, in the columns, I usually put some distance between each column so the columns won't run together. This is giving me extra columns. It would be much easier if I did not have to put that distance. Is there a way to format the field to have a leading or trailing space so all the fields don't run together on the report?
    example:
    field1
    field2
    field 3
if all these fields have data the output would look like:
    field1datafield2datafield3data
how can I make it look like:
    field1data field2data field3data

    Hi Amer,
There is a web item 'Menu bar' available in WAD 7.0.
There, you can set the Action (Command Triggered) (ACTION) property to Export Web Application and achieve the functionality of exporting to excel.

  • Export To Excel problem with HSSFWorkbook

    Hi all,
In a webdynpro application, we are writing data from webdynpro context to excel sheet using HSSFWorkbook. Below is the code
This works fine when there are only 500 to 600 records .But if there are more than 500-600 records excel gets corrupted and error message is displayed.
While going through different forum I found this is due to encoding. When I comment the for loop in code below, problem doesnu2019t exists any more.Even 10000 records are successfully displayed.
    Please guide :
How encoding is causing this problem and how can I rectify this?
What exactly this code (code in bold in below code snippet ) is checking ?
What will be effect if I remove this code as this webdynpro application is used in many countries ?
    public byte[] exportFile() throws Exception{
              InputStream stream = new ByteArrayInputStream(xslSource);
              HSSFWorkbook workbook = new HSSFWorkbook(stream);
              stream.close();

  • Export to excel problem in MVW

    Hi experts,
I assigned a Report to company's template in MDW. When I execute it in browser, I can download it to Excel or CSV (there are buttons). After we transported it in validation, when we click on those buttons to download it to Excel or CSV, we see a blank screen.
Can someone tell me what is the problem and how to resolve it.

    Hi,
Please check if the connection is getting timed out. Or the number of records would be more to fetch into excel. If is more than 65000 records it will not be able to retrieve.

  • Export to excel problem from EP reports

    Hi Friends,
When I export the reports from EP to excel, I am not getting the Financial year period and the week that I entered in the variable screen. can anyone advice me how to get financial year period and the week that I entered in the variable screen to the exported excel sheet?
    Thanks in advance.
    Sathy

    Hi,
This is interesting.  The only way I can get it out is probably to display the information on the web report published (using the Information button).... but this still does not get it out together when you download to excel.  I suspect that this is not a standard feature of the export function since you can get the information out on the excel when you perform what Stefan mentioned.
I think might have to raise an OSS message to check if this is indeed the standard feature.
    Cheers,
    Gimmo

  • Labview signal express to excel

    Hello,
I'm using Labview signalexpress to acquire a signal. My problem is that I acquire 20 seconds of my signal (and I see it on the graph), but the problem is that I can export to excel the only 1.35 seconds, whatever the number of samples. How could I export to excel the entire signal?
    Thanks
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

I don't have signal express but a quick search found this link.  It states that there is a setable limit on the size fo data sent to the clipboard.
"When you export data to Microsoft Excel, LabVIEW SignalExpress copies data samples to a clipboard for export. Use theMaximum Clipboard Data Export Size option on the Data page of the Options dialog box to increase the number of data samples the clipboard can contain. Depending on the amount of memory on a machine, large log files might not export successfully."
You might be running into that limitation when you try this method.  Even if you increase the limit you will still not be able to paste more than excel's max size as discussed already.  You would have to paste it into a text file or some other program that can handdle that much data.  I would not use this method however.  Seems like it would be to easy to make mistakes that way.
A .lvm file is just a text file so you should not run into any limits there.  This is what I would use.

  • Report generation toolkit and signal express user step : problem of closing reference in "Stop" event

    Hi all,
I'm trying to make a package of Vis to easily make Excel reports with Signal Express. I'm working on LabVIEW 8.2.1.
I'm using the report generation toolkit, so I build a .llb from my project which contains all the hierarchy of my steps, but also the hierarchy of dynamic VIs called.
I have made some steps, like "Open Workbook", "Write Data", etc.
My steps run well, excepts one step : "Close Workbook".
If my "Close Workbook" step is firing on "Run" Signal Express event, I have no error, so my reference is properly closed.
But if my "Close Workbook" step is firing on "Stop" Signal Express event, I have an error "1", from "Generate Report Objectrepository.vi".
I feel that I'm trying to use a reference which has been killed in the "Stop" step...
I would like to know what exactly do Signal Express on "Stop" event and why my close function does'nt run well.
    Thanks,
    Callahan

    Hi Callahan,
SignalExpress (SE for short) does the following on the Stop event:
    1. Takes the list of parameters that SE found on your VI's connector pane, and sets the values that the user set from the "Run LabVIEW VI" configuration page, if any.
    2. Then tells the VI that SE is running the Stop event by setting the Enum found on your VI's front panel. This in turn should produce some boolean values telling your VI to execute the Stop case.
    3. The VI is then run, with those values and states.
    4. SE checks to see if any errors where returned.
    5. Since this is the Stop event, SE releases the reference to the VI which it possesses.
Questions for you would be, is the reference to your Workbook linked to a control on your connector pane, or held in a uninitialized Shift Register. If it's held in a Shift Register, SE would not be aware of it, and would not be able to affect that reference.
Hope that helps. Feel free to post your LLB if it doesn't.

  • Exporting to Excel - How to control Column Heading?

I'm working in SSRS 2012.  I have one tablix in the report body.  The tablix has both Row and Column Groups.
When rendering in the web browser the report page breaks on a row group.  The Repeat Column Headers property is set to "True" so it shows the column headings from page to page.
When rendering in Excel, I want one worksheet and not separate worksheets so the page break is disabled via the Page Break->Disabled property expression "=IIf(Globals!RenderFormat.Name="EXCELOPENXML", True, False)".
This is all good but the Column Headings only show up once at the very top in the excel worksheet.
Is it possible to make the Column Headings repeat with each tablix data region as it is rendered vertically down the worksheet?
OR is there a way from SSRS to set the Excel property "Rows to Repeat at top" to include Column Heading; by default the SSRS Report's header is repeated in Excel, but can the number of rows be changed to include the Column Heading?
OR is there some other work around?
    Thanks for your help.

    Thanks for the reply Wendy.
You addressed my second question ... "is there a way from SSRS to set the Excel property "Rows to Repeat at top" to include Column Heading; by default the SSRS Report's header is repeated in Excel, but can it be changed to include the Column Heading?
Based on your response, the only way to freeze the column header in excel is to freeze or split panes AFTER export to excel.  well booo but I have to accept that I guess.
My first question is what I really want to do, which is to physically repeat the Column Heading in the excel rendering. I included two pictures demonstrate what I want ...
    1) the standard SSRS report rendered in Excel ... Column Headings are shown once:
