Export to PDF in CS4 does not include TrueType glyphs

I created a Indesign CS4 document with Times (a Mac OS system font), inserted some glyphs such as 1/2 or 1/4, and exported it as a PDF. The glyphs however are not rendered properly - they appear as boxes.
If I print the file to my printer or print to a PDF, the qlyphs are included. Opentype fonts seem to be OK. I've also confirmed in Acrobat, that I can use the touch up tool to add the glyphs again, but clearly, this is not a desirable solution. This is not a problem in either Illustrator or Photoshop. This is also not a problem with Indesign CS3 which I still have on my system.
I think this started just after the Indesign Update 6.0.1 update, though I can't be certain.
Any ideas?

Same problem - but thanks for the idea. It's curious that when I use the touch text tool to change the properties, Acrobat "knows" the correct characters. I can select the characters, change the font, change it back to the original font and all is OK. I though Acrobat used some Illustrator libraries to do the touch up, but i I open the PDF in Illustrator, the bad characters get rendered as object - not text.
I guess it's time find a way to easily avoid the dfonts. Problem is dfonts show up as TrueType in the font selection menu. The only way I know to see for sure that it is a dfont is to look at its extension in finder.
I'm not real keen on using dfonts - I was archiving some old InDesign files as PDFs when I ran across the problem. It's kind of a pain to have to chase the font types/conversions through so many layers. Sigh.

Export to PDF from Infoview does not show correct data - CRS 2008

I have a problem where users attempt to export a report from the Infoview interface to a PDF. The report shows correctly in Infoview while in Crystal Reports format, but when the use exports the data, the data changes and shows different values. To troubleshoot, I have tried this on different clients - without a change in the result. I have also pulled the latest instance of the report from this history on the Central Management Console. Interestingly enough, the same thing happens when I export to a PDF from there as well. Any insight or help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I can't tell you offhand on what the issue is here, as various factors come into play.
Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try:
- Try opening the report in Crystal Report designer and export to pdf from there. Does this work?
- Instead of viewing the report and export; schedule a report to PDF and check the results.
- there is currently a know issue in regards of certain formulas and using font type "arial Unicode MS" that gives incorrect export to pdf. Maybe alter the font used.. or see if you take out any questionable formulas and try again to export.

Saving PDF as JPG does not include form details - Acrobat X Pro 10.1.11

I've created a PDF document out of a jpeg, and added text fields to the PDF. When I save the PDF as a JPG, the background image shows, but no form fields. I've tried recreating the document from scratch, but receive the same results. This just started happening on the last document I created last week and now persists. I've changed none of my normal default settings, and I'm completely stumped. I've been at this for hours and can't seem to find anything online, any help would be greatly appreciated.

For the above PDF, all I do is fill in form, Save as JPG, and all info is in the text field when I view the JPG

Export to PDF from VC does not work

Hello experts,
I tried to use the system command to export the VC data to PDF. However instead of opening the pdf file, it opens the selection screen of the BI query. Can anyone help to check the link I used as a hyperlink (as perovided in the SAP how to document)

Export as pdf from safari does not save correctly

I used to be able to print a page and save it as pdf. When I do this the page saved is blank. What is going on? This is since updating to Mavericks.

It happened in Firefox as well and the preview image in the print dialog box was blank. Trashing two adobe pdf plug ins from the /libraryInternet/plug-ins fixed my issue. I am not sure if this will cause me issues in Adobe Creative Suite but so far it looks okay. I am not sure what you mean by /applications/utilities/console How do I get look at the console? I opened the application and I have no idea what to make of the Console.

TOC does not include hyperlinks in export to PDF

I created an eBooklet in Pages, but when I export it to PDF, the TOC does not include hyperlinks to the pages. There aren't any signs of the TOC including links in the original Pages document, either.

The iWork '09 DVD can be had at Amazon. You will need to apply the Apple IWork 9.3 updater to bring the applications to their last revision, and compatibility with Mavericks and Yosemite. The help menu in Pages ’09 v4.3 has a link to the that specific PDF user guide. The Number '09 guide is there too. The Keynote '09 PDF User Guide is here.
Pages v5 documents are not directly backwards compatible with Pages '09. You will need to export the content as Pages '09. Since Pages v5.5.1 is lacking nearly 100+ features that were in Pages '09, you must take care with opening Pages '09 documents in Pages v5. It will filter out content that it does not support (e.g. linked text boxes).
Any double-click on a Pages document with both applications installed, will default to opening in Pages v5.5.1. Deliberate effort is required to open Pages '09 documents, either by the Pages '09 file chooser, or a two-finger tap (on your Air) to bring up the secondary menu that has Open with > Pages (4.3) on it.

Creating pdf from clipboard does not import images or formatting

Creating PDF from clipboard works perfect in acrobat X however in acrobat XI no images are imported and the text just defaults to times roman font. My wife uses acrobat for her craft patterns and copies from the web all the time with no issues in Acrobat X. She tried it on Acrobat XI and it just looks like garbage. The text is there but the images that were copied along with the text are not. I have examples that she did using the exact same clipboard in both X and XI.

Yes, the procedure for copying info to the clipboard is similar for a Mac and a PC. I select the info (in this case, text and graphics) with the mouse, and can copy it to the clipboard with either Command-C (Mac equivalent of ctrl-C), or by right-clicking on the highlighted info and choosing "copy" from the pop-up window. No, you are not missing anything. All of the web page parts are in the clipboard. The problem is that only the text is showing up when I use the create PDF from clipboard option in AA XI. I do not have a graphics package installed; however, if I paste the clipboard contents into Word, both the text and graphics show up.
I checked the PDF created with my AA XI and found the text as text and the the graphic as graphic, not simply a graphic as you suggested. Is it possible the graphic is shown with a place holder or just space for the graphic. If that is the case, check the preferences that you have "view large images" turned on.
As I explained ad nauseum, the PDF I try to create with AA XI using create PDF from clipboard does not include the graphics; it only has the text. I just checked the preferences and "view large images" is turned on. I could not find any other preference settings that would seem to help with the problem I am having.
I can paste the clipboard contents directly into Word and print the document to a PDF. When I do that, though, I usually have to spend a lot of time editing the Word document, because the contents are not in the same format. The paragraphs are usually squashed together, or the photos are too large and I have to change the size. This just takes up more time than I have to spend.
The bottom line is that it seems to me Adobe must have changed something in the Mac version of AA XI that causes it to not work the same way it does in AA X. The PC version is obviously okay, because you are able to get the feature to work.
I guess I am going to have to give up on this problem and stick with using AA X.

Header items not exporting to PDF in CS4

I am creating a checklist in In-design to be exported to a PDF for use on an IPAD. I have created a group of four boxes that I have made into buttons that are linked to individual pages to act as a navigation bar. This nav bar are on the top of each master page. The nav bar shows up throughout all the pages in In-design, however when I try exporting it the nav bar does not show up in PDFs. I have tried a number of fixes: shrink the nav bar to ensure it does not overlap the page edge, dropped it down so it is not near the top of the page, moved it to an upper layer. Nothing has worked. At this point I have determined my 11 page checklist does not need a navigation bar but I am wanting to solve this for future larger checklists.

This can be achievable using the DPS tools. Multi-stated Objects may be helpful in this case. Saved pdf file does not include filled in text

i am using adobe acrobat pro; trail version. I can fill in a fillable pdf file but after saving the file and then emailing the filethe received email attachment does not include my text included in the pdf form?

It most likely does include it in the form, but the PDF viewer that's being used does not display it. If the user were to use Adobe Reader/Acrobat, the form data should appear as expected. The default PDF viewer that mobile devices and some browsers use don't have sufficient support for forms.
If the recipient does not need to interact with the form fields, you can flatten the form before sending it out. This converts the form field appearances to regular page content, so it will very likely appear fine in most any PDF viewer. Post again if you need help flattening form fields using Acrobat.

Export to RTF does not include images???

I ve written a script which converts a batch of indesign files to RTF files...I m using this script in a plugin in InDesign CS3 on MAC OS.
I ve used this:
exportFile(ExportFormat.rtf, f );
But the converted .rtf files does not include the images present in the .indd files...
what modification should be done to include images? is it possible?

No, that's not possible. The best you can do is to replace the images with their file names, then import those images in the application that you send the RTF files to.

when i try to export an mxf file with 8 channel audio, premiere does a kind of main mix in channel 1 and 2 and channel 3 to 8 remain silent. It does not include my assignment of audio channels in the mxf file.

Workshop IDE Build does not include all files

We have property files also which we want included as part of the build process
but if we use the IDE build it does not include them. We have to therefore export
the IDE build and customize it to include *.properties like this

which causes a problem for us because the exported build file is specific to a
user's local PC and cannot be used in a team environment.
How can we have the IDE build include all the files within a project i.e. include
properties files also.

Why not in EJB?
Yes there is no argument as to why property files cannot be copied over from EJB
project.
The reason is that Workshop has not implemented the feature with EJBProject. We
have that feature only for Java projects and not for EJB project.

I created normal sales order, delivery and and released it thr VF01.
Then I created the RE document without order reference and PGR. But while checking the accounting documents in VL02N it gives the error as follows
Material document 4900000006 does not include an accounting document
Diagnosis
The system cannot find an accounting document for the material document 4900000006.
Possible reasons for this are:
The goods movement has no relevance to accounting. Therefore, the system did not generate an accounting document for the material document.
The material document is a document that was posted before Release 2.1. Such documents must be converted so that the system can find the relevant accounting document.
The procedure for the subsequent calculation of value is not active in your system. For further information, refer to the documentation on the program for valuating goods movements: RM07MWBU.
Procedure
Choose Continue and then choose another function.
Find out when the material document was created. If the document was created prior to the Release changeover, ask your system administrator to carry out the conversion of the documents. The individual steps required for document conversion are described in the Release Notes for Release 2.1B

Acrobat X Standard does not include most of the interactive object tools. You need to use Acrobat X Pro for those features. Kindly check the comparison matrix at:
