Exporting audio and video together for Mpeg2 dvd

Hi, I'm trying to export audio and video together for Mpeg2 dvd.. I changed  multiplexing to DVD but is still exporting seperately is there something im missing? thanksa

To add, with Multiplexing set to NONE, check what the Audio format is set to. If "PCM", this is an uncompressed .wav file and will result in export of .m2v video and .wav audio (I think Mac uses .aif) and use "Import as Timeline" in Encore for both clips at once. Encore will automatically transcode the audio to Dolby AC-3, do NOT mess with settings in Encore, defaults are correct. If you have CS6, then in AME audio settings, there is an option for Dolby and you can use that to create the .ac3 audio and then Encore does NOT do any transcoding to audio or video. Note that older versions will also show "Dolby" but that is a free trial of a surround encoder, not the same. You just want the stereo option available in CS6, or use PCM option is fine
Thanks

  • Can't drag audio and video together?

I have numerous assets in this dvd project. I'm setting up a button to play 10 commercials in a row, a "play all" button.
I'm editing the 10 commercials in what looks like a mini-video editor, with the video track and audio tracks shown.
    PROBLEM:
When I grab the video to change the order of my "play all", the audio doesn't move with it. For instance, I'm shifting commercial #3 to become commercial #1. In order for Audio from Commercial #3 to become audio for commercial #1, I have to shift audio #2-10 over to the right to create space for Audio Commercial #3 to insert there. VERY FRUSTRATING and painstaking. And if you accidentally clip a bit off the end or front of an audio portion (easy to do in these tiny little tracks), the sync' is off for the rest of the spots!
I called Apple "tech support", and the rep' told me you can't drag audio and video together, and made up some excuse about 'this should already be done in Final Cut'. What? I'm just bringing in QuickTime files as assets. Why can't I lock audio and video together?
Incidentally, Apple's Tech Support is useless you spend $199, or "$799 for a year". This cost was NOT made clear in the original purchase of the product. I'd prefer spending $1000 for a "PROFESSIONAL APPLICATION" and have good tech support included!
    Arrrrgh!

Once in the track, A and V don't get moved together.
I usually just rebuild the track order from scratch anyway because you can easily lose sync easilly when you are shuffling clip order.

  • Why can't Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2014 Time remap Audio and Video together?

In case you didn't notice, my question is WHY.  I don't know why Premiere Pro can't do this.  From what I understand at the moment, the only way to time-remap audio in any way shape or form using Adobe software is through Adobe After Effects, which my computer has absolutely no chance of running ever.  I know how to do regular stretching of audio in both Audition and Premiere Pro, but apparently I can't time-remap audio using either of these programs.
So why can't Adobe Premiere Pro time remap audio along with the video?  What's the reason that it can't?  It's a massive disappointment and would be very impressive to see accomplished in the future.  If it's possible to time remap audio and video together in After Effects, that's great and all, except for the fact that I can't use that program.  Why can't it be done in Premiere Pro and will it ever be possible in Premiere Pro?
Also, will time remapping audio become possible in Audition someday?

That sounds like a great idea.  File a Feature Request:

  • Why can I not burn audio and videos together as audio cd anymore? her

My Mac Book Pro used to ask me if I wanted to mix (burn)audio and videos together from a created ITunes playlist.... now it dosent and when I burn the Playlist it dose not burn the videos audio as before.

Audiobooks from Apple are a once-only download.

  • Separate audio and  video inputs for Quicktime Broadcast?

I want to produce some real time streaming via Quicktime Broadcast. My audio will be coming from a Mackie mixer with firewire interface, the video will be coming from my video switcher which has a firewire output. Will I be able to combine the audio and video firewire feeds in the computer (or software), or must I combine the audio and video into one firewire feed before it hits the computer?
    Thanks!
    Rob Cook

I just did my first feed Monday night. I used a video mixer and Mackie board myself. I feed the audio and video(component) into my DSR-20 VCR, which I also use for a tape backup recording. This then feeds the QT Broadcaster. I don't think you can feed anything but a firewire machine or iPhoto camera into Broadcaster. Might work with an USB camera/vcr???
I feed H.264 video, at 320x240 with mono 16 bit audio. Hint... don't do disolves, as they increase the frame rate. simple cuts-only seems to be the best. We also fed keynote slideshow into switcher... carefull there, as it produces saturated colors that will effect the signal... the switcher will think the super saturated video is sync and glitch the video. red is the worst, of course. Next week I am going to use a little proc amp to drop the chroma a bit.

  • Joining audio and video together?

    Hi
I want to join my audio to a video, and I don't mean to create a movie, all I wanted is to add the audio to the video...?
Combining them into one I think...
I've got a .mp3 audio file and I wanted to put that into my .mov audioless video, like joining them together (sorry I just can't get the right word)...
    Is there a way?

  • Pausing the audio and video together using the skin

    Hello,
I have coverted some avi files to flv and brought them into
captivate. The video itself has no audio associated with it. I used
Cp4 to record the audio and everything seems to be fine. What I
want to be able to do is use one of the video skins and be able to
pause both the audio and the video. Right now the video pauses, but
    the audio continues.
Any ideas on how to do this?
    Thanks,

  • Upon export, audio and video are out of sync.

While editing, my cuts are lined up with beats in the music, but after export they shift approximately 5 frames, making my cuts appear later.
The Sequence settings match the clip settings at 23.976 fps, and i've tried just about everything I can think of to fix the issue.
I've reverted back to previous Autosaves of the project, tried numerous export settings, separate and new projects, different machines, but nothing seems to work.
At this point I'll take any and all suggestions.

Please UN-check the "Frame Blending" box, that is only used when changing frame rates. The source and export are both 23.976, so that can only cause issues (blurring between frames with motion). Also uncheck "Max Render Quality", that is used for SCALING, such as 1080 to 720, or HD to SD. Your source and destination are both 1080p.
Rule of thumb - do NOT check boxes unless you really know what they do and the results they provide - the DEFAULT settings are there for a reason ;-)
Also, I never use "Match Source" - rather, figure out where the video is going (Blu-ray, web, device, etc.) and find an appropriate PRESET - there are tons of them under "H.264".
I'm assuming the video source is also 23.976? If source doesn't match sequence settings, that can be an issue with sync.
Try exporting entire sequence rather than In to Out. Try EXPORT rather than Queue.
Last thing, what is the source of the video footage? Some phones use "Variable Bitrate" recording and Premiere is not equipped to deal with that very well.
    Thanks

  • Audio and video compression preferences for export to DVDSP

    Hi,
I have a few questions here. The first is regarding the internal use of compressor by DVD Studio Pro. It is my understanding from (limited experience with) past projects that quicktime movie files are automatically compressed to an mpeg2 format when imported into DVDSP. To what extent do I have control over the level of compression, and are the default mpegs that were made optimal quality? Where can I check this?
My second question is regarding compression of audio files. Whereas my video files were automatically compressed, I am not so sure about the audio. I was forced to compress the audio down to Dolby2 separately using the external compressor program, in order not to exceed the bitrate on my last project. Was this just a question of one or the other (video/audio) needing further compression than the default amount, or is there more to this issue?
I live and work with video in Europe, where I have recently been told that optimal audio is mp3? 4? rather than Dolby 5.1? Is this correct, and how much more space does dolby 5.1 take than dolby2? How significant an issue is this when making dvd's for musicians?
Lastly, can someone recommend the best quality audio-video compression solution for a dvd containing approx 40 minutes of audio and video footage for use in europe?? or explain how I might go about finding this out for myself?
Thanks a lot, and I look forward to reading your comments.

Settings for DVDSP's internal encoder can be adjusted in DVDSP preferences. Press Command-, - that's the Apply and the comma keys - to bring those up, then select the Encoder tab. In your case, make sure you adjust the settings for SD DVD (and not HD-DVD). You will also be able to specify whether to encode in the background (basically, as soon as you import your file) or encode on build, at the bottom of that tab.

I can't confess to have read any of your previous threads, but if you exceeded bit rate, that is a common reason to need to use Dolby compression for your audio. (unless you can afford to recompress your video files)
That is, if you video files use a high bit rate (say over 6 Mbps average), then it's usually necessity to use Dolby compression to make sure that all your footage fits on a single disc. (this is a simplification, of course, but I think you get the idea)
Or was there more to this question that I'm missing?

Someone was mistaken when they told you that DVDs accept - let alone are optimized for - mp3 or mp4 files. That's flat out wrong.
As for the difference between Dolby 5.1 vs 2.0, that depends on your encoding rates. Typically, most folks encoder Dolby 2.0 at 192 kbps, with some choosing to up the bit rate to 224 kbps. Beyond 224 kbps, you're not actually improving audio quality for a 2.0 mix, you're just bloating your file size. When it comes to 5.1 audio, it's typical to encode your audio at 384 or 448 kbps.
When it comes to compressed audio vs uncompressed audio, it does matter when you're making DVDs for musicians. But that means that you'll probably need to lower the bit rate on your video files.
Lastly, can someone recommend the best quality audio-video compression solution for a dvd containing approx 40 minutes of audio and video footage for use in europe??
If you want to keep you audio as AIFF files, set your encode to 2 Pass VBR Best, with an Average bit rate of 5.0 Mbps and a Max bit rate of 7.0 Mbps. If you need things to happen a bit faster, use One Pass (not One Pass VBR) and use 5.5 Mbps as your bit rate.
If you want to have a firm grasp over how all these numbers work, there is a section at the back of DVDSP manual, that explains how to calculate bit rates (what we call bit budgeting in the business). Give that a quick once-over if you can.

  • Audio and video out of sync after exporting sequence

I'm a FCP user since years, but not so common with HD footage. Therefore I have an issue with my finished edited movie after exporting: Video and Audio are out of sync.
    My sequence settings are: HDV1080i50, 25fps, 48kHz, 16bit, Stereo. I used File-> Export-> Quicktime Movie -> Current Settings
Sequence has a duration of 61 minutes and 38 sec. I tried to find out where's the problem and exported audio and video seperated. This results in:
Video is 61 minutes and 27 sec long
Audio is 61 minutes and 38 sec long
That means exported video is shorter than original sequence.
    What could that be ?

I had the same problem with a Panasonic camera, even filming at 30 fps. I was able to fix it; see [this thread|http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1783029&tstart=0]. It's a frustating problem, to be sure. You might have to use Easy Setup a couple times before you get things to work properly. Not sure why that's the case.
    Good luck!

  • Strange export result in FCP 7- audio and video output not in sync anymore

I have a problem exporting edited videomaterial. After export audio and video they are not in sync anymore. There's a difference of 8 sec when exporting audio and video separatly. Movie is total 61 min long.
Video and sequence settings are HDV1080i50, 25fps, 48khz, 16 bit, mono.
    What could that be ?

Well now that I look at all the clips in FCP more closely I see some clips from the same tape are in sync and others are out of sync.  And one section of tape which I captured twice was in sync on one clip and out of sync on the other.  So it can't be the tapes.
Maybe the sync problem is caused by not coordinating the tape playing and FCP capturing properly every time! So I will try re-capturing the problem sections of tape.

  • How to get audio and video in one file

hi...I am "premiere beginner user" and I have a simple question , I think..:)...Every time when I am trying to export media out from my premiere (using media encoder) I get video file and some audio files, but what I need is only ONE file, that contains both (audio and video)..for example , I have edited film in hd quality and I want it to export, I choose h.264 format(make some settings, pal, audio quality...) and when it´s "all done", only "result" I get is one video file and two audio files and they are not together :).....so please help mme anyone..ok and as you can see I am not from english speaking country, so sorry for my english...thanks for help....

There is no indication that something is out-of-sync or the ability to move/slip into sync like in FCE/FCP.
To the best of my knowledge, using match frame and overwriting the video with video+audio (or attaching it as a connected clip if you don't want to overwrite the video, which might have effects applied) is the best way to do this.
You can use the blade tool first in the timeline to get just the section you want to get back into sync. Make cuts so that you have a single clip that needs the audio resynced, select it, and use shift-F to select the original synced clip in the Event Browser. Make sure your play head is at the beginning of this video clip in the timeline. Press option-2, then 'q', and now you have the audio back in your timeline, synced with the video.  Delete the old, no-longer-synced audio and you should be set.

  • Audio and video is out of sync!

when I record audio and video together with my isight built in camera on my macbook pro with either quicktime pro, photobooth or imovie, when I play the clip back the audio and video is out of sync! like watching a kung foo movie. I've tried everything, I've taken my book into see a "Genius" at thew mac store and he said to me that the isight is made really for video conferencing and is really not supposed to be fully in sync? Uhh thats weird, so mac makes a product and puts it on all their laptops and it only sort of works?? I've been on the phone with apple care, did a bunch of things like disk utility repairs on permisions, then used the startup disk to do another permisions repair. I've uninstalled quicktime pro and re-installed it a couple of times? If anyone could give me some advice that would be great! I'm a little frustrated as you can probably see! thanks
    cheers

    Welcome to Apple Discussions, m
See if any of the suggestions offered here reduce your sync quality problem enough:
      http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=7089133&#7089133
If, after making certain that your Mac is running well, has plenty of free space on the correct drive, etc., your sync is still not close enough, you can manually re-sync any parts that are unacceptable to you using either QT Pro or iMovie.
If you check carefully, you will see that not even pro video is always perfectly synced. It is a lot of work to get things "nearly perfect," but, with a bit of practice, it doesn't take long to get things "close enough" for me.
I use the same simple process with either QT Pro or iMovie, so you can use whichever you find easiest. Whichever you use, keep the original AV clip safe and *_work on a copy_* in case something goes wrong.
If you do not already know how, here is my process, but you can adjust for your workflow:
    (1) Copy of the audio track.
    (2) Add the audio track copy to the AV file.
    (3) Silence the original audio and work on audio copy.
    (4) Insert small blank audio clips (or split and slide if using iMovie) if needed to make the audio later.
    (5) Cut small bits out of quiet parts (or split and shorten in iMovie) if needed to make audio sooner.
    (6) Repeat until satisfied and delete any tracks no longer needed.
    (7) Save the adjusted AV file.
    (8) Enjoy!

  • Audio And Video Not Linked

When I drag clips from the Viewer to the Timeline I get audio and video together, but afterwards they are separate. They aren't selected together unless I do a shift-click selection, and even then I can't trim both at once. FCE does seem to remember that they should be in sync because I still get the little red boxes. This is probably just some little setting I inadvertently changed, but I have no idea what. Can someone please help?

    eatrains
Linked clips (video and audio) will have an underline below the name, this can be toggled on or off with Modify>Link (Command-L).
For selecting in the Timeline there is a button at the top right. This only selects the video and audio at the same time, it does not Link/Unlink.
