Exporting csv file to desktop

Can anyone point me in the right direction
- allow user to export a table/recordset in a csv format
(Word label
Merge for labels)
- asp vbscript hosting
- js enabled

Tom Muck has an export csv routine that works in ASP. You
might want to

  • Delete a .csv file from desktop system

    Hi All,
    My requirement is to read the .csv file from the desktop system having the shared folder and delete the file after read successfully.
    Here I can read the .csv file from the location using the function RFC_REMOTE_FILE and updated the content into internal table.
    But I cant delete the file from the presentation server ( Desktop system).
    Can anyone tell me how to delete the .csv file from the desktop system on different location.
    Note:
    I followed this link to read file:
    http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/index?rid=/library/uuid/9831750a-0801-0010-1d9e-f8c64efb2bd2&overridelayout=true

    Hi Rob,
    Thanks. I solved this problem myself.
    The solution to delete the file from remote system is
    concatenate 'DEL' i_filename i_dirname into v_bkfile separated by space .
    call function 'RFC_REMOTE_EXEC'
      destination  c_dest
      exporting
        command               = v_bkfile
      exceptions
        system_failure        = 1  MESSAGE v_ermsg
        communication_failure = 2  MESSAGE v_ermsg.

  • Address book export - CSV file

    I have the same qustion except not from apple mail but from Eudora address bk to gmail addressbk.
    I did download the app > worked but gave no option of macmail (which is not used) or eudora which is the active email. but click I did. > installed it (as no option to see what had been made into the .CSV file.> it did indeed take some names from the eudora address bk calling them 'most commonly used addresses " (???) .. but only 11 out of several hundred.

  • Exported CSV files are locked by Oracle SQL Developer 2.1.0.63

    Whenever I export my query result into a CSV file, the resulting file is always locked for editing by Oracle SQL Developer 2.1.0.63.
    Have anybody encountered the same problem? Do you know how can I report this as a bug to Oracle?

    I got it too if I left SQl Developer open then go to Excel to edit my CSV - got message 'table_export.csv is locked for editing by another user'. If I close SQL Developer then open the file, it works. Seems SQL Developer's holding onto the file after creation.
    Bugs are being reported in this forum.

  • Separator problem after opening a exported CSV file in Excel

    Dear experts,
    After exporting a report to .CSV file from BEX browser, I opened this file with Excel. I found that "," is considered as separator, but not ";" which is by default the separator in CSV file exported.
    For example, when i open the CSV in Notepad, i have:
    "15.07.2008";"E001";"No value"
    "15.07.2008";"E001";"No value, date, time"
    When it is opened in Excel, I have
    "15.07.2008";"E001";"No value"(Column A)
    "15.07.2008";"E001";"No value(Column A) date(Column B)    time"(Column C)
    Is that a problem in Excel configuration? How to solve it (for example, set ; as separator)?
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi,
    Please try opening your .csv file in excel. I am assuming that all texts are in one column. Select this column, go to Data>Text to Columns. Set the checkbox to Delimited. Click on next. Set the delimeter to ; and the text qualifier to ". Click on next. Click on finish. Then save in another filename. Try opening this new .csv file in notepad and see if it has the format you needed.
    Hope this helps,

  • Exporting RAW files to desktop corrupts them

    I just purchased a new macmini intel 2 core duo 2 gHZ upgraded to 2 GB Ram and I run Leopard 10.5.7 with iPhoto 09
    The store where I purchased my macmini transferred all the contents from my old macmini core 2 duo 1.83 gHZ hard disc to my new macmini's hard disc.
    Here's the problem: When I export a RAW file from iPhoto to my desktop ( export as "Original") the RAW file is often corrupted by a horizontal band or stripe of color across the image. The strange thing is that it does not have this stripe or band across it every time. It does this about half the time. I experimented by exporting the same RAW file to my desktop a few times. In about 2 cases out of 5 the exported RAW file displays the colored stripe or band. If I export as Jpeg or Tiff it does not happen.
    The band is always in a different place. Here are 2 screenshots I took of what it looks like:
    http://a.imagehost.org/0118/RAW1.jpg
    http://a.imagehost.org/0351/RAW2.jpg
    Help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks and regards
    Fred

    OK..I contacted Apple Support here i Holland by phone and they ran through a whole trouble shooting program with me. Then they downloaded RAW files from a site that has RAW files for all types of cameras including the camera I use Panasonic DMC L1
    They then did imported the RAW files into their Macmini at Apple support and found that they experience the exact same issues as I reported on my own Macmini. So the problem is not with my particular Macmini but somewhere in the iPhoto 09 software. They will now send these findings to Apple in Ireland and other Apple centres that address these issues. Then a solution will be sought and probably some kind of update to correct it will be issued. Hopefully this issue will be gone in SnowLeopard.

  • Will not export csv Files or Excel

    I have a large spread sheet with 278 entries. I have tried to export as csv and excel files. Get error for csv, unable. and crash on excel. Any suggestions. I have the all the updates.

    Yvan,
    I do not doubt that the OP's document behaves as you described. However, since a similar problem might affect other users, it would be helpful to know more about what it is about the "wrongdoer" as you call it that triggers this. (I have a particular interest in this because of the number of spreadsheets I export to Excel users & how if this happened to me it would adversely affect my livelihood.)
    Accordingly, I tried to duplicate the behavior from the info available in this thread. I tried single & multiple popup-formatted cells, in one & more than one row, using a variety of data values in the popup choices. But in no case could I get any results other than as I described.
    This leaves me (& perhaps others) wondering if or when a similar wrongdoer might causes similar problems in some future document of mine (or of others) & if this occurs, how to identify the cause & resolve it.
    Thus, anything more detailed that you care to share in this forum would be appreciated.

  • How can we export table data to a CSV file??

    Hi,
    I have the following requirement. Initially business agreed upon, exporting the table data to Excel file. But now, they would like to export the table data to a CSV file, which is not being supported by af:exportCollectionActionListener component.
    Because, when i opened the exported CSV file, i can see the exported data sorrounded with HTML tags. Hence the issue.
    Does someone has any solution for this ... Like, how can we export the table data to csv format. And it should work similar to exporting the data to excel sheet.
    For youre reference here is the code which i have used to export the table data..
    ><f:facet name="menus">
    ><af:menu text="Menu" id="m1">
    ><af:commandMenuItem text="Print" id="cmi1">
    ><af:exportCollectionActionListener exportedId="t1"
    >title="CommunicationDistributionList"
    >filename="CommunicationDistributionList"
    >type="excelHTML"/> ---- I tried with removing value for this attribute. With no value, it did not worked at all.
    ></af:commandMenuItem>
    ></af:menu>
    ></f:facet>

    Hi Alex,
    I have already visited that POST and it works only in 10g. Not in 11g.
    I got the solution for this. The solution is :
    Use the following code in jsff
    ==================
    <af:commandButton text="Export Data" id="ctb1">><af:fileDownloadActionListener contentType="text/csv; charset=utf-8"
    >filename="test.csv"
    >method="#{pageFlowScope.pageFlowScopeDemoAppMB.test}"/>
    ></af:commandButton>
    OR
    <af:commandButton text="Export Data" id="ctb1">><af:fileDownloadActionListener contentType="application/vnd.ms-excel; charset=utf-8"
    >filename="test.csv"
    >method="#{pageFlowScope.pageFlowScopeDemoAppMB.test}"/>
    ></af:commandButton>
    And place this code in ManagedBean
    ======================
    > public void test(FacesContext facesContext, OutputStream outputStream) throws IOException {
    > DCBindingContainer dcBindings = (DCBindingContainer)BindingContext.getCurrent().getCurrentBindingsEntry();
    >DCIteratorBinding itrBinding = (DCIteratorBinding)dcBindings.get("fetchDataIterator");
    >tableRows = itrBinding.getAllRowsInRange();
    preparaing column headers
    >PrintWriter out = new PrintWriter(outputStream);
    >out.print(" ID");
    >out.print(",");
    >out.print("Name");
    >out.print(",");
    >out.print("Designation");
    >out.print(",");
    >out.print("Salary");
    >out.println();
    preparing column data
    > for(Row row : tableRows){
    >DCDataRow dataRow = (DCDataRow)row;
    > DataLoaderDTO dto = (DataLoaderDTO)dataRow.getDataProvider();
    >out.print(dto.getId());
    >out.print(",");
    >out.print(dto.getName());
    >out.print(",");
    >out.print(dto.getDesgntn());
    >out.print(",");
    >out.print(dto.getSalary());
    >out.println();
    >}
    >out.flush();
    >out.close();
    > }
    And do the following settings(*OPTIONAL*) for your browser - Only in case, if the file is being blocked by IE

  • Sort records in a csv file in the descending order of time created attribute

    I have an excel (.csv) file with the following column headers :-
    Client,
    SourceNetworkAddress
    ,TimeCreated,
     LogonType
    ,User,
    Message
    Values like :- ABC, 10.5.22.27, 11/23/2014 9:02:21 PM, 10, testuser
    The file is a combination of a report generated everyday using multiple scripts. The data is appended each day therefore, I would like to sort the final output file in descending order of time created (a combination of date and time) fetched from events
    i.e. the latest record with the latest date and time should be at the top of the list.
    I tried using the following command however, I get a sorted list according to the date but not the time. The command does not consider the AM/PM mentioned in the time instead simply sorts them as per numbers
    Import-Csv "C:\Users\a\Desktop\report.csv" | sort Timecreated -Descending | Export-csv "C:\Users\a\Desktop\report_sorted.csv" -force -NoTypeInformation
    So if I have a record with 9:02:21 PM(latest) and a record with time 10.44.10 AM on the same date, the command will sort the list with record 10:44:10 AM first and then record with 9:02:21 PM however it should be the opposite as per descending order.
    Kindly help !!

    Hi jrv,
    Thanks for your response. However, I get errors while I run this command in Powershell :-
    Import-Csv <file> | Select Client,SourceNetworkAddress,LogonType,User,Message,@{N='TimeCreated';E={[datetime]($_.TimeCreated)} | Sort TimeCreated -Descending | Export-csv <file> -force -NoTypeInformation

    You are missing a second curly brace -

  • Reg importing exported ccsexport files from 9.3.1 into 11.1.2.1

    Hi,
    I have exported cssimportexport.properties file of hyperion system 9.3.1
    Now i have exported .csv files with the following names(export MSAD and export Native).
    I want them to be moved into hyperion system 11.1.2.1 using LCM.
    Pl. suggest me the steps to be followed in importing the .CSV files into my system 11.1.2.1.
    Cheers
    Praveen

    The LCM documentation is available at http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E17236_01/epm.1112/epm_lifecycle_management/launch.htm
    Also if you are new to LCM then it is worth having a look at the following Oracle by Example which will take you through the steps - http://www.oracle.com/webfolder/technetwork/tutorials/obe/hyp/PLN11.1.2_LCM/index.html
    It may also be worth extracting some test provisioning out of your 11.1.2.1 environment first to make sure you have the format of the file correct.
    Cheers

  • SQL bulk copy from csv file - Encoding

    Hi Experts
    This is the first time I am creating a PowerShell script and it is almost working. I just have some problems with the actual bulk import to SQL encoding from the text file since it replaces
    special characters with a question mark. I have set the encoding when creating the csv file but that does not seem to reflect on the actual bulk import. I have tried difference scenarios with the encoding part but I cannot find the proper solution for that.
    To shortly outline what the script does:
    Connect to Active Directory fetching all user - but excluding users in specific OU's
    Export all users to a csv in unicode encoding
    Strip double quote text identifiers (if there is another way of handling that it will be much appreciated)
    Clear all records temporary SQL table
    Import records from csv file to temporary SQL table (this is where the encoding is wrong)
    Update existing records in another table based on the records in the temporary table and insert new record if not found.
    The script looks as the following (any suggestions for optimizing the script are very welcome):
    # CSV file variables
    $path = Split-Path -parent "C:\Temp\ExportADUsers\*.*"
    $filename = "AD_Users.csv"
    $csvfile = $path + "\" + $filename

    I can see that the Export-CSV exports into ANSI though the encoding has been set to UNICODE. Thanks for leading me in the right direction.
    No - it exports as Unicode if set to.
    Your export was wrong and is exporting nothing. Look closely at your code:
    THis line exports nothing in Unicode"
    Export-Csv -NoTypeInformation $csvfile -Encoding Unicode -Delimiter $csvdelimiter
    There is no input object.
    This line converts any file to ansi
    (Get-Content $csvfile) | foreach {$_ -replace '"'} | Set-Content $csvfile
    Set-Content defaults to ANSI so the output file is converted.
    Since you are just dumping into a table by manually building a recorset why not just go direct.  You do not need a CSV.  Just dump theresults of the query to a datatable.
    https://gallery.technet.microsoft.com/scriptcenter/4208a159-a52e-4b99-83d4-8048468d29dd
    This script dumps to a datatable object which can now be used directly in a bulkcopy.
    Here is an example of how easy this is using your script:
    $AllADUsers = Get-ADUser -server $ADServer -searchbase $searchbase -Filter * -Properties GivenName,SN,EmployeeID,objectGUID |
    Where{
    $_.DistinguishedName -notmatch 'OU=MeetingRooms,OU=Users,DC=fabrikam,DC=com'
    -and $_.DistinguishedName -notmatch 'OU=FunctionalMailbox,OU=Users,DC=fabrikam,DC=com'
    } |
    Select-Object @{N='UNID';E={$_.objectGuid}},
    @{N='FirstName';Expression = {$_.GivenName}},
    @{N='LastName';Expression = {$_.sn}},
    @{N=/EmployeeNo;Expression = {$_.EmployeeID}} |
    Out-DataTable
    $AllDUsers is now a datatable.  You can just upload it.
    ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

  • Submit quiz results to one single .csv file

    How can I submit quiz results (over 200 people will be taking
    my captivate quiz) to a single .csv file?
    Right now, the quizes are submitted to my email address and
    attached to the email as a POSTDATA.ATT file. I have to manually go
    into my Outlook and save attachment as "FnameLname.csv”. So
    each quiz taker will have an individual .csv file! So I will have
    over 100 emails and over 100 .csv files!!!!!
    How can I make the quiz results submit to a single
    Quiz_Results.csv file on my web server instead?

    The way I would do this is to submit the scores into a
    database. In between Captivate and the database you'll need
    middleware (.asp, asp.net, ColdFusion, etc.). This middleware
    receives your data from Captivate and processes it - submitting it
    into the database. You can then write another middleware page that
    produces a report (web page table, or exports .csv file) with the
    data stored the database.
    Another possibility is to use Captivate's built-in SCORM
    functionality and submit user scores into an LMS, then run reports
    and export .csv files from your LMS.
    Sorry - I don't think this functionality is built into
    Captivate to join multiple records into one .csv file.
