Exporting ligatures correctly in svg format
Is there a way to fix the rendering of the "Th" ligature in the svg files saved from the illustrator?
Is this fixed in the new version "CC 2014"?
Within Acrobat (not cmd line), simply use Save As and select TIFF or JPeg. That will save each page to a new file.

I'm in need of a solution for scaling text outlines in an svg format. I'm working on developing a Flash app that allows users to type in Flash text with an outline that is then exported out in an svg format. Issues in exporting SSRS report to PDF format in Report Server - Blank spaces are deleted
Hi Gurus,
I have a problem in exporting SSRS report to PDF format. It deletes all the blank spaces when I use bullet in a Text box and try to export to PDF formt in Report Server . For example
• Project submitted to the TRC
Result in PDF format:
• ProjectsubmittedtotheTRC
I also noted that when I try to export to PDF in Visual Stuio 2005 (Business Intelligence development studio), it does not delete any blank spaces and shows the correct aligned Data in PDF format.
Please help me as it is frustrating a lot

When bullet point is entered in a field all the spaces are removed when exported to PDF
i tried exporting to excel and it does not remove spaces, however this is no use to me as it needs to be in PDF
Using IE 7 (Don't think the browser has anything to do with it as this happened via a subscription)
Didn't know SSRS had specific Service Packs, i though they came as patches to SQL Server (SQL Server is on Service Pack 3)
This should be easy to replicate all you need to do is copy text containing a bullet point into a sql server database field and then add this field to a report export to pdf and the spaces are gone

Problems in exporting crystal report to word format
Hi All,
I am getting trouble in exporting crystal report to word formats.
Here are my questions:
1) The exported word file will have a text "R..950" added on top right hand corner, How to get rid of it?
2) For those "Can Grow" fields, it can show multiple line data correctly in the viewer. However, the text box in exported word file will be too small to show all the content and lower half of the text is cut.

The version of crystal report designer and viewer which I am using is version 11 Release 2.
Besides, I guess it might relate to the format of report so I would like to tell you more.
Font Face: Arial Unicode MS (in order to show chinese characters)
Font Size: 9 pt
For the text "R..950" issue, I just found that some people in the internet having the same issue and they suggested that may relate to the locate. In my case, the locate is Chinese (Hong Kong S.A.R.).
If it is necessary, I may send you my report with sample for test.

Specify font families when exporting illustrator file to svg

I can use File > Save as... to save an Illustrator file in SVG format, and there are a number of options available. I currently use:
Fonts / Type : SVG
Fonts / Subsetting : None
Advanced Options / CSS Properties : Style Elements
In my test figure, I selected 'Avenir' as the font for a text element.
In the resulting svg code, I correctly got:

OSX MavericksAI doesn't care about font substitution rules. Either way, i don't see a problem. that could be as easy as batch processing your SVGs in a suitable text editor like BBEdit.

What is the correct way to format file paths and names in the structapp file?
I am trying to create a structured application to export fm files as xml, and probably read the xml back to fm.
In the structured application file (structapp), I need to specify the locations of the various files (DTD, read/write, template, etc). I would like to place these files on a shared server so others can use the same structapp file (that is, a cop of it). What is the correct way to format the file paths and names? Can folders folder names and file names have spaces in them? I tried the following, for example:
\\serverName\shareName\folder 1\folder 2\file name.dtd
I use the same format for the template file and the read/write rules file.
When I try to save an fm file to xml, FrameMaker says that it cannot read the DTD; however, the resulting xml file appears to be well-formed. The DOCTYPE element in the resulting xml is formatted with forward slashes and spaces replaced with %20.
I tried using forward slashes and replacing spaces with %20, but then I get an error about reading the read/write rules.
NOTE: I have another structured application to read xml into fm. This application does not have a DTD file. The template and read/write rules files are specified as above. Except for complaining about a lack of a DTD, the application works fine; it even applies an XSLT in the process. Again, when I DO add a DTD to this latter application, I get the same complaint about not being able to read the DTD.
I am using fully patched FrameMaker 9 in Windows XP.

The XML parser and FrameMaker are not the same thing. The Error Log says which component created which message. The XSL processor is another option that can throw messages. The "\\server\path\some.dtd" syntax in structapps.fm seems to be fine for some tools, as Internet Explorer with XML tools successfully finds the DTD which appears as "//server/path/some.dtd" in the XML. But apparently Xerxes, the XML parser bundled with FrameMaker, does not like this notation.
If you have a path with a drive letter, "H:\path\some.dtd", FrameMaker turns that into "file:///H:/path/some.dtd". It seems, Xerces would like to see "file:/" in front of absolute paths.
This is what I have in structapps.fm:

In the structapps.fm I have the DTD without path information. The resulting XML (without XSL postprocessing) then contains just the file name with a relative path back to the book folder (when saving a book as XML). It therefore requires the DTD to be available at this place. I handle this using an event script that fires for NotePreSaveXml and copies the DTD to the folder of the original document.
As I always use XSL postprocessing and using XSLT1 it is not possible to have the doctype-system as a parameter I have this in my XSL stylesheet:
<xsl:output doctype-system="some.dtd" />
For the resulting XML the DTD is expected to be in the same folder as the XML file. This is handled by the same event script as above, it therefore copies the DTD to the source and the target folder.
Bottom line: If you want/have to use UNC paths, you have to do some programming to work around a FrameMaker bug.

How to export the report in HTML format for desktop application
Hi,
i have wrote the JRC desktop application to export the report and i am able to export it in PDF and other formats as mentioned in "ReportExportFormat" API.
i would like to know is there any API there which can export the report in HTML format.
i know it would be possible with web based application of JRC, but how can i do it in desktop application?There's no mechanism for static HTML pages that displays the report.
You can use the CrystalReportViewer DHTML viewer, but that's 'interactive'.

There's no direct access to an Universe from Java - Universes do have an SDK, but it's COM-based.
If what you want is to retrieve data from the Universe, what you can do is create a Web Intelligence document reporting off that Universe, create a Query with the data you want from the Universe, then use the ReportEngine (REBean) SDK to retrieve the ResultSet from the Query - note that there's no CSV export option, so you'd have to walk through the ResultSet and write to an CSV yourself.

How can I export artboard color in SVG?

My question is if I apply any background color in artboard then I'm not able to convert this in SVG format even If I close and reopen same file then background color makes white.
So Is there any way I can convert illustrator file in SVG ( with applying background color by artboard) ?

RakeshOh, BTW, it technically is not a white background either. It is a transparent background. But the grid is hidden to make it easier to design. For new users this can be deceiving since almost any other app is a white background unless you see the grid like in photoshop. In Illustrator, to fill you are required to have an object.

Issue while exporting the report to other formats
When the rpt file created in the BO server is used to view the report through the report viewer, there are export options available to choose from. If this export option is tried as MSExcel or Word document, the alignment, page headers and all are not coming in the same way like in the one generated through the PDF.

The whole format thing has been introduced in 1.5. The tutorial also states it's been "updated to 1.5.".
That's all I've got to say for I don't know how you can format a PrintWriter, let alone a PrintStream, prior to 1.5. I'm not really sure there is any way. Any "legacy way", that is. There almost certainly are third-party API which achieve similar results.
