Exporting one iTune song to my computer

I haven't used iTunes for awhile and just upgraded. I want to export one song to my Music Folder on my computer. I can only see how to export a playlist so I created a playlist with just the one song in it and exported it. It showed up as a MPEG4 file.
I want to upload it to one of my web pages but the web only recognizes MP3 formats.
1)Is there a way to export just one song to my computer
2) Is there a way to export it as a MP3 or convert from MPEG4 to MP3?
Thanks

In Windows, create a folder for the playlist and open it.
In iTunes, highlight all the songs.  Then drag them to the open folder.
(If you normally run iTunes in full screen mode, make it smaller so you can do the drag.)
This procedure puts a copy of each song file into the folder, and does not change anything in your iTunes library.

    You can't do that.
And before you decide to store any music that you own on a computer at work, talk to your IT department. Many organizations do not permit it for legal reasons. Standard policies are that anything stored on company owned computers is the property of the company. It could not be legally stored on their machines unless you transfer the licenses and all copies, physical and digital, to the company, meaning you no longer own the music. If they were to be audited and could not prove that they own the music, they would be subject to copyright violation penalties. Just use your iPod when you're at the office if you want to listen to music.

  • How can I transfer some of my iTunes songs from my computer to my husband's iPhone who has a different apple ID.

How can I transfer some of my Itunes songs from my computer to my husband's iphone?  He has a different apple ID and every time I do this, my IMac says it will erase and sync.  I've checked the manual manage box but no luck.

It says that his computer is authorized, but as soon as I try to transfer anything, I get a message saying that my iphone is already synced with another iTunes library
What does the iPhone have to do with anything?
Don't plug yoru iPhone into his computer.
Do I need my iPhone to do it or can I do it from iMac to iMac? Thanks for any help.
So you have two different computers?
Just enable Home Sharing and he can copy the songs from you iTunes to his then he can sync his iPhone to his iTunes.

Right-click them in iTunes, show them in the Windows Explorer, and check the player's documentation for the rest of the instructions.

  • Bought new computer- how do i get all my itunes song off old computer and onto new one?

i recently purchased a new computer and installed ITUNES on it.  Once I put in my APPLE ID all my purchased songs showed up (songs i purchased through ITUNES on my old computer).  Here is the problem, my old computer has around 800 songs on it from cd's that I owned and downloaded those songs into ITUNES.  Now i want those songs on my new ITUNES on my new computer but don't know how to get them there.  I have tried the following so far:
    - Tried syncing my ipod and ipad to the new computer but each time I do this the new computer ITUNES wants to wipe out the 800 songs and just put on the transfered purchases songs.
    - Tried 'home sharing'.  When I did home sharing with both computers on and ITUNES opened all the songs showed up on my new computer but as soon as I closed out ITUNES on the old computer the 800 songs went away on the new computer and it went right back to the songs I purchased.
Please someone tell me there is an easy way to take all these songs I have on ITUNES on the old computer and transfer them to my new computer and ITUNES without having to bust out all these old cd's and sit there and re-burn them all on the new computer.
I have in addition to this all ready authorized my new computer with ITUNES so that is good to go.  Any help would be appreciated...

Are they not on your new computer after you restored your iTunes backup?
    Didn't have a backup?
Unlike music you can download apps multiple times. Go to each app, download it (ignore the price) and after you click it will tell you that you've already purchased the app and ask if you want to download it again.

  • Getting Old Itunes song from previous Computer

My old powerbooks hard drive just crashed and the data is completely gone. I was wondering if I could get my purchased itunes songs on my new computer since the previous copies are unusable. How would I go about contacting apple to get this done.

The iTS policy is a one time d/l. You are responsible for the b/u.
There have been reports that the iTS has granted a second d/l. You can contact the iTS Customer Service via the links on this page and see if you get lucky - http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/

  • I purchased my first iTune song on my computer in FL. I am now back in IL. Am I able to find the song for my IL computer?

For the first time I downloaded iTunes on my computer in Illinois about 2 months ago. I never bought a tune.  I went to Florida and downloaded iTunes on my computer in Florida.  I then purchased my first iTune.  When I came back to Illinois I thought i would be able to find the song I had downloaded in Florida but I cannot find/access it.  Did I do something wrong by not preparing the song while in FL for access in IL?  Can I access the song now from my IL computer?  Thanks.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
You can re-download content purchased from the iTunes store (availability varies depending on location) using the purchased option from the Quick Links section in the top right corner of the iTunes homepage in your iTunes application on your computer.

  • Can't play my itunes songs on my computer

I recently went to play songs from my itunes on my computer and every time I click on a song I get a message that the song I have selected cannot be played because the original file cannot be found.  I still have my entire Itunes on my Ipod,  but it does not seem to do any good to use touch copy to try to get the song back into itunes.    I am not sure what the problem is or what I have done to create this situation.    All the songs show up as being in my library just as always but they will not play.   Any suggestion?     Also, I want to copy my itunes collection from my computer to my new computer but I am having a difficult time accomplishing that as well.   Obviously I am not very tech savvy,  but I am not a total idiot either.    I am using windows on my computer, with windows xp on the computer that I now have Itunes on (that I can't get the songs to play from, and window 8 on my new computer.     Thanks.

    Hello wrenward,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.

  • How do I find my itunes songs on my computer?

    HI,
I recently just deleted my entire itunes library. Most of my music was from cd's and I saved those files in one of my folders, but also I realized that I also had quite a bit of songs I bought from itunes. Does anyone know where on the computer music bought from itunes is saved?
When deleting all my songs I pressed "move songs to recycle bin" or something like that, if it matters.
If anyone could tell me where they would be saved, that would be great.
    Thanks!

Those songs are located in a subfolder of the folder \Documents and Settings\yourname\My Documents\My Music\iTunes by default, where yourname is the name of your Windows user account.

  • I have exclamation marks on my iTunes songs on my computer. How do I get rid of them?

I have iTunes match and it works fine on the iPad however on my computer where they originated from there is an exclamation mark with a circle around it on my songs and it will only play one song and then stops. I can manually double click on each song as to play it but how do I get rid of all those pesky things.?

I'm having a problem very similar to the one herb clark described. It occurred when I upgraded to OSX 10.10. Suddenly  have the songs in my itunes library have this **** exclamation point in front of them and they don't play in a playlist. I can play them by simply double-clicking on the song, this will clear the exclamation mark and start playback. I can also clear the mark by selecting the song and choosing "Get Info"—as soon as the info window opens the mark disappears. Once the mark is gone the song then behaves normally and plays in the playlist.
It has nothing to do with deleted files. No files have been deleted. Itunes never asks me to locate files.
I have not synced with any devices. I have never synced itunes.
I doubt it has anything to do with itunes Match because I've never used Match or subscribed to it.
It appears that the only way to fix this is to doubleclick on every song that has an exclamation mark. That would take hours to do.
Any ideas about how to fix this and make the exclamation marks go away?

  • Only one iTunes song plays during DVD slideshow

I have built a slideshow in iDVD6 that's about fifteen minutes long. I added four purchased iTunes tracks, grouped in a playlist, into the audio well in iDVD. The Project Info shows the four tracks.
Only one track plays, however, on the burned DVDs. It repeats itself several times until the slideshow is finished.
In reading other posts about audio, I've noticed that too little available space on the drive with the project can sometimes make iDVD a bit wonky.
I have about 15 gigs available - could that be causing this problem?

15GB should be sufficient, although more always is better.
On the chance that some preference or permission is corrupted, try the following standard stuff that we do when an iLife program is acting weird: Close iDVD and trash the file com.apple.iDVD.plist found in User/Library/Preferences. Then do a permissions repair using the Disk Utility app on your Mac.
If that doesn't solve it, as a workaround you could try joining the songs in your playlist into one total soundtrack. You could do this by putting your playlist into an iMovie project and then exporting your playlist onto your desk top as an aiff file. (File/Export/Expert Settings/Share/Sound to aiff) Then import that file directly into your iDVD project, or into iTunes and from there into your iDVD project.
Another way is to export your playlist to a musical CD, and then import all the songs at once from the CD back into iTunes, checking the "Join CD tracks" option on the iTunes Advanced menu. That will join all the tracks into one long clip.
Perhaps someone else will come up with a better suggestion. Good luck with this.

  • Possibility of Apple TV playing one Itunes Library while the computer plays a different library at the same time (Mac)

The Apple TV is for my son's room to watch his videos, listen to music, etc. off his iTunes library I made for him on my Mac.  I want to be able to listen to my own library at the same time he has his. Apple TV only recognizes the current library open; unless I'm doing something wrong or the stars haven't aligned for me yet, is there a way to do this? I can't run two iTunes at the same time (wish I could).
*Note- to teach my son about computers, I bought an old green iMac which will be for his learning venture.  The iMac however does not have wifi (at least not yet).  Perhaps something for you Mac professionals can use to help me whip up a good setup, unfortunately the iMac is slow, not enough HD space, so I don't have the funds right now to open it up and do what can be done.  (If this helps)

    Hi All,
Same issue here. Just upgraded (?) from the previous version of Apple TV, to the new Apple TV2. Like others here, my main problems seem to be with unreliable streaming from iTunes 10 on my PowerMac (Quad G5, Leopard OSX).
My original AppleTV had no issues w/the wireless network, or synching w/my PowerMac.
The network connection from the ATV2 are fine, and have no issues accessing the Apple Store (for movies, TV shows), or accessing Netflix. The access to the internet from my ATV2 is quite robust.
My problems are with keeping a constant, reliable wireless connection to my PowerMac, via an Airport Extreme wireless router.
I have tried multiple restarts, reboots, reset ATV2 to original settings, tried different wireless channels on the Airport Extreme, verified I have Home Sharing properly enabled in iTunes, etc, but no luck so far.
What I'm seeing is when I access my iTunes on my computer, I can see my library, and then if I start to "shuffle songs" I may get 1 to 3 songs to play fine, but then the music stops, and I can no longer access the music/movies/etc in iTunes any longer. When I then go to my PowerMac, it has lost most bars of signal strength on the wireless network (although all other devices show strong signal strength), and I have to Turn AirPort Off, then Turn AirPort On and I then am reconnected to the wireless network with good signal.
I then go back to the ATV2, connect to my iTunes, start my music, and then 1-2 songs later it again stops playing, and I go through this all over again.
It seems as though there is something on the wireless network between the ATV2 and my PowerMac that causes it to lose connection, and I have to manually start again. The problem is that the connection is not robust, and only lasts a few minutes.
    Hope this gets solved soon.
    Regards
    Tom
