Exporting Premiere sequence into specific Encore project

Is there an "option" or drop down menu that would allow someone to specify an Encore project in which to export to from Premiere? I tried it through Adobe Bridge but it automatically opened a new Encore project. I also had my targeted Encore project open while working in Premiere and the export opened a new project instead.  It would be a great time saver if this option was available.
thanks.

Awesome!! This is going to save me a lot of time.
thanks Stan!!

  • Export all sequences into one quicktime?

    I'm sure it's something silly I'm overlooking...but I'll ask nonetheless.
I have 6 sequences, each of varying length. How do I "join" all the sequences for an export to a single movie file? Surely I can't be stuck exporting each in turn. Otherwise, how will I be able to create a quicktime rough for importing into Sound Track and subsequent scoring?

thanks so much, Tom - that did the trick after a bit of confusion over what can be dragged and dropped. I didn't realize I could drag and drop the individual sequences into the timeline of a new sequence. I was trying to drag the sequences into the icon for a new sequence in the browser.
Love your FCE book BTW - you must never get tired of hearing that!

  • Copying clip/sequence into specific folder in another project?

    Hi,
I have two suites working in different projects but im having to copy sequences from one to another....
Is there a way to copy to a specific folder as they have a lot of rushes folders so need to close all those before doing this
    cheers

Its actually sequences but yeah the media for it is on a shared network....its just the projects that are on seperate computer.
We have a craft editor working and a logger so im just getting sequences off the logger to be copied into the main edit.
Ideally want to be able to select a folder right click and paste in that folder...

  • Having a very hard time dragging my sequence into an Encore timeline

Hello, here is a screenshot, which I discuss further down this post:
I'm having a heck of a time trying to import the "MASTER SATURDAY" sequence down into my timeline.  Dragging and dropping does not work, neither does right clicking on it and selecting the option "New/Timeline".
When I do that, nothing happens.
Does this have anything to do with where it says above that my DVD transcoding has "not been set"?
    Thanks,
    I'm stumped!
My 629.mov file shown above drags and drops into the timeline just fine.
    Matt Dubuque

PLEASE NOTE: I did try to set this all up so that I was dynamically linked with my project in Adobe Premiere Pro.  I don't know if I succeeded in that undertaking or if that is relevant.
Here is a slightly expanded screen shot that could prove helpful:
The sequence I am trying to import is listed at the top as a "Premiere Pro Sequence".

  • How do I copy multiple clips and sequences into a new project

    Hi Folks,
I've spent a while on the net trying to find an answer to my problem - so far without success. I have successful finished a documentary project (on climbing Mt Kilimanjaro) and now I want to lift the most dramatic sequence (the summit) so I can advertize the thing on my website and elsewhere. I have two audio tracks and two video tracks with multiple still photos in one of the video tracks.
There must be a way to do this but I can't find it.
Any ideas - and if this is a simplistic question I apologize - I've been learning as I go on this project.
    Cheers,
    Paddy Ryan

Okay everyone - thanks for your help - new problem.
I successfully "built" my 4 minutes clip from the original project. But I couldn't find a way to delet the material past rthe point at which I wanted it to end. So I went in and manually deleted everything. Inow have a 4 minute clip but when I try and convert it to a Youtube friendly file format it tells me the clip is 26 minutes long. I checked it out and it just kepy playing black with no sound. I dug around alittle and founf a sort of mini-compressed timelione of all that material and deleted it. tried again. It now stops playing after 4 minutes but once again tells me the clip is 26 minutes long when I try and convert the file. Are there pixies living among the pixels?

  • Importing a CS5 premiere pro sequence into Encore

I'm pretty new to premiere pro and encore (used encore for the first time yesterday) - so please forgive me if this is a dumb question. I've created a project in Premiere Pro and it plays fine. However, when I import the premiere pro sequence into my Encore project (so I can export it to DVD) it shows the media as being offline. Am I wrong in assuming that if I import a sequence from premiere pro I don't have to import all the sub-assets that the sequence uses as well - shouldn't that happen automatically? Or do I need to import everything? - seems a bit silly if that's the case - why would I not want all the assets that a sequence uses to come across with it? Thanks.

forgive me if this is a dumb question.
Not dumb, but your terms aren't right, and that's probably at the root of your problem.
You "import" a file; you dynamic link a PR sequence, either from Premiere or from within Encore.
When you dynamic link, nothing is actually transferred; a link is set up, and the Premiere sequence is still operating from within an instance of Premiere (even if not visible).
When you eventually transcode (in Encore, usinkg Encore's engine or adobe media encoder), then a file is created inside Encore directory structure.
The media showing as offline means you've done something wrong.
Do you get this message at the very beginning of the link?  Be sure you don't move or rename anything.

  • Problem exporting large sequence in Premiere Pro 5.5

So I am currently creating a compilation of many videos for a contest this weekend, and am having trouble exporting it all together.
This is a mix of SD and HD footage, from various framerates, resolutions and aspect ratios that I have conformed (using the "Scale to Frame Size" option) to a 720x480, 4:3, 29.97 fps, progressive scan environment (started with the DV NTSC preset and modified from there).
The project has expanded to become 1 hour and 45 minutes long, with many titles (at least 58). I should also note that it appears to have become very unstable, crashing quite frequently, though other projects will load just fine. And before anyone asks, I have already attempted moving everything into a new sequence and exporting from there, as well as importing the sequence into a new project, to no avail.
    My normal export settings are:
    720x480 resolution,
    4:3 aspect ratio,
    29.97 fps,
    Render at Maximum Depth checked,
    VBR,
    2 pass,
    Target bitrate: 8,
    Maximum bitrate 12
I should also note that I have not prerendered any of the footage.
Now, whenever I try to export it begins the process, and then always hangs at 18%, when the m4v file has become 2.15 GB, and then even after leaving it for several hours it progresses no further, and the file size of the m4v and others does not change. I have attempted a new export now that runs with
    VBR 1 pass
    Target bitrate 3
    Maximum bitrate 6
to see if that changes anything, though I don't expect it will.
Please get back to me about this as soon as possible, as an event this weekend is riding entirely on my ability to create this video.

Never leave empty gaps in the timeline, fill with black. File > New Item > Black Video will create a slug you can use.
When I mention Media Encoder, I do mean exporting direct from Premiere - that is just an integrated version of AME. If you choose "Queue", that then opens AME as a stand-alone app.
Advice on check boxes - boxes that are unchecked by default are in that state for a reason - they only help in certain situations, so if unsure what the result might be, stick with the defaults. For instance "Max Render Quality" sounds like a no-brainer, but in reality only helps when scaling the output. If exporting 1080 to 1080 for example, then no need for that.
In another thread today, someone had poor quality video output and it was a direct result of checking the "Frame Blending" box - for reasons unknown ;-)

  • How can i save a sequence into a folder in premiere pro cc

How can i save a sequence into a folder in premiere pro cc

Your question is confusing. It could mean a few different things.
    A. If you just want to have the sequence in a particular bin in the Project panel, then drag it there.
    B. If you mean you want to save a sequence so that all of the necessary files are in one folder on your hard drive, simply create a new project and import the sequence into your new project. Then use the Project Manager to gather all of your files together.

  • Exporting HD to SD for Encore

I have segments for a DVD that are currently 1440x1080. I need to export them from Premiere CS5 and scale them down to SD Widescreen to import into Encore to create a standard DVD. I certainly want the quality to be a good as possible. Any suggestions on preferred formats for this kind of export? AVI? H.264? I have a Matrox mini with Max incorporated into my system. I'll be experimenting and would appreciate any and all opinions. Also, am I better off trying to export a sequence from Premiere using AME, or just export clips from Premiere and then import them into my Encore project, which I used to do pre CS5. Thanks!

exporting the show as one file, which would be what would play when the Play All button was clicked
That is the correct method here.
as well as importing clips of the individual chapters, which would have their own timelines and be triggered by the buttons for each chapter
That is the incorrect method here, and will double the size on disk.
With a single export and a single timeline, you do not need individual chapters in their own timeline in order to play just one chapter.  As you noticed, that's just a waste of space.  What you do is have the Play All button linked to the timeline, and each chapter button linked to a chapter.  If you want the video to continue after each chapter, do nothing else.  If you want the video to return to the menu after each chapter, set up an Override for the chapter buttons.  This will give you the results you're looking for without wasting any space on disk.
I finally chose option 3, to import all the chapters as separate clips and timelines, then create a playlist for the play all function and then link the chapter buttons to the individual timelines.
That is also not the best method here.  For one, you have the slight delay between timelines.  Also, it doesn't allow the viewer to scan back past the current chapter.
One export with all chapters in a single Encore timeline.  A Play All button linked to the timeline.  Chapter buttons linked to chapters.  Button overrides if you need them.  This is the normal and most efficient method of DVD authoring for what you wish to accomplsh.

  • Encore Project Settings and Encoded file is less in Encore than on my Drive.

    Hi,
Before Encoding my Premiere Pro timeline in Media Encoder, I had set up my all my menus and all my assets in Encore CS 5.1. After I had done all that, I pressed the "Build button and it said I had around 23 GB left (I am making a Blu-Ray DVD)
So I went back to Premiere Pro CS 5.5 and Encoded my Project through Media Encoder. I set it it H.264 Blu-Ray, PCM Audio, Target Bit Rate was 18.5 and Max Bit Rate was 20. The estimated file size said it was going to be around 23 GB. This was perfect.
So I encoded it and when it was done, on the Hard Drive, it was 23 GB, just like to was supposed to be.
I then imported it into my Encore project and put it on the timeline. I then looked at the Build tab to see how many GB I had left on the Disc. I wanted a little room.
It said I am only using just over 20 GB and have a little over 4 GB left to use..
Why would this happen? I now have more free space.
In Encore, I wento to File ------ Project Settings ------ Default Transcode settings ---- and that was set at:
    Max Audio/Video
    Codec MPEG 2
    Bit Rate = 15 MBPS.
    The Audio was on Dolby.
There was a drop down list, in the Bit Rate category, that I could have chosen to use 20 or 25. I left it at 15 for now.
If I go back and choose 20 or 25 would that make the encoding of my whole project (Menus and h.264 Blu-Ray) a little better quality than it is now? Will it increase the size of Encoded project so when I hit the Build tab again it will show I have less space available to use? I want to make the project  as good as it can get without going over the 25 GB limit.
    One other thing.
Wih my final project on the Encore Timeline, when I have the Sequence active, on the Project tab in Encore it reads: 19.1 GB Encoded (Audio and Video). the final encode is 23 GB. Why is it going down to 19?
The video looks good and I could burn it to a Blu-Ray now and it would look great. I just want to know if there is some way to make it a little better inside Encore without having to Encode my whole project at a higher Bit Rate knowing that It will be a little less when I bring it into Encore.
    Thanks in advance
    Premiere Pro CS 5.5
    Media Encoder 5.5
    Encore 5.1

Many issues in this; one problem is understanding file sizes and Encore's handling of project panel sizes and build panel sizes.

Regarding bitrate calculators and a shorthand method mentioned by Jeff Pulera, see his post 2 in that same thread. I see that it was regarding DVD; I wonder if someone has a shorthand like that for Bluray?

  • Export video clip from Premiere into an existing Encore project

New to encore.....love the software so far....but not much experience with it yet. Here is my question:
How do I go about exporting a video clip from premiere CS3 into an open/existing encore project. When I try to export to encore from the prem. timeline it makes a new proj. Sometimes I want to render out and export more than one asset into the same encore proj. but cant seem to figure out how to do that. any help would be great.
    Thanks,
    Eric

thanks J.....I have been doing it all along the way that you suggested. Just wondered if there might be a more efficient way to bring in multiple files. I appreciate your help with this....now at least I know that I am not doing things in a more difficult manner than necessary.
    Thanks again!

  • How to export timeline sequence to .vob in premiere cs4?

    Hi All,
I am new to premiere cs4,
earlier i used premire 6.5 for video editing.
in premiere 6.5 for exporting video i had used procoder 2.0
after procoder instalation it comes as plug in premiere 6.5 by using procoder i can export timeline as my desired video format.
but now this procoder is not working in premiere cs4
after i installed procoder it is not showing in premiere cs4.
i tried export option in premiere cs4 but it has no .vob option for export
now how can i export timeline sequence as .vob file and
how can i work with procoder in premiere cs4? is there any chance to install procoder in premiere cs4?
    Thanks,
    Murali.

I agree with John T. Normally, the creation of a VOB (Video Object) container is done in an authoring app., like Adobe Encore, which he mentioned. Up through Premiere Pro 2.0, there were limited authoring capabilities, built in. However, with PrPro CS 3, those were removed, and all authoring functions were provided with Encore, which has shipped with PrPro, ever since.
Now, the VOB is just a container. It will have mostly the MPEG-2 DVD AV file, which can span several VOB's, which are only ~1GB in size. The first VOB might also contain the DVD Menus, and navigation instructions, all of which can only be ~ 1GB. If those elements are less, then the first part of the MPEG-2 DVD AV file will be in there also.
While I do not know one, there are probably utilities available, that can wrap an MPEG-2 DVD AV file into a VOB. Still, you have Adobe Encore, and it can do that, plus a whole lot more, so just finding a program to wrap the MPEG is likely a waste of time, unless you have other, very specific needs.
To utilize Encore, you have basically three ways (as of PrPro CS 3 and up) to accomplish that:
You can use ADL (Adobe Dynamic Link) to Import your Sequences/Timelines directly to Encore.
You can Export a DV AVI file, then Import that into Encore.
You can Export an MPEG-2 DVD file, then Import that into Encore.
Good luck, and if you do have some other, specific needs for the VOB container, let us know, as someone might have suggestions for that.
    Hunt
PS - If you do go the Encore route, and are not familiar with that program, I strongly recommend the very good, and very active Adobe Encore Forum: http://forums.adobe.com/community/encore/encore_general

  • Adding Sequence to pre-existing Encore project

I want to add a sequence to a pre-existing Encore project, though the dynamic link can only start a new project. Do I have to export it as a .mov file first, then import it into Encore?

This question has been asked by plenty of users. When you use Encore first by dynamic linking from Premiere, there's no reason to know that the reverse is  built in. And it is not obvious as to where the command is located.

  • Why is video size different to original when exporting from Premiere Pro CS6 to Encore?

    Hi there
My source files in Premiere Pro are 1920 x 1080.
When I export the sequence to Encore to burn to a DVD the size in the burned DVD changes to 720 x 576
In Encore project area I have these two entries
The encoding settings for the above two entries are
this (for the first entry above)...
and this (for the second entry above)...
It does not seem to be possible to change the encoding to 1920 x 1080 for the first enry and as such the video is being burned as 720x576.
How can I fix this? What am I doing wrong?

DVD is 720x576 you cannot change that.
If you want 1920x1080 which is HD you need to make a BluRay.
You can however make an AVCHD disk which is HD on DVD.
About 20 minutes will fit on a DVD and will only (but not all) BluRay players.

  • Exporting a sequence from Premiere Pro CC is taking hours

I am new again to Premiere after a 10 year hiatus. I have Premiere Pro CC and as exciting as it is to have the entire suite of products, I feel like resorting to iMovie after trying to export. I was initially getting acquainted with After Effects and solved my render times there after a little frustration, but this seems to be taking me down!
I am creating a "movie" that will be projected on a 4:3 aspect, 20'x15' screen. I created a sequence that's 4 minutes long and it's got a .mov that I rendered from After Effects at the beginning,  then a bunch of still images that each last around 5 seconds with a cross dissolve in between each. In the middle there is another .mov from After Effects (bubble effects).
I created the sequence with settings of: Editing Mode - QuickTime DV NTSC, 29.97 fps.
When I try to export the sequence, I use QuickTime for the format; the preset is NTSC DV. This sets the video codec to DV25 NTSC. I've tried rendering with this codec and changing the codec to mpeg-4. I've also rendered with the quality set to as low as 65% with the mpeg-4 codec.
Each time, the "Estimted Time Remaining" just climbs and climbs. I've managed to get to 13% encoded and the time remaining is around an hour, but keeps climbing with each percent rendered.
    I have a 27" iMac with 3.1 ghz Intel Core i5 processor, 4gb memory and running OS X 10.7.5
If anyone can help me with export settings or a way to decrease the time, I'd very much appreciate it. I have searched for this topic and each solution I found involves exporting for the web.

    Use the MPEG2-DVD preset
