Exporting query results into a csv file using arabic and hebrew chars

Hi,
iv'e encountered a problem, using plsql to export a query into a csv file.. the arabic turns into question mark. Do you have any idea why?

Usually this indicates a mismatch between client and database character set.
How do you export this query?
What is your database version?
What is your client OS?

    Following code is from asktom. I have modified to include column heading. This will get your desired CSV file for a given query.
    create or replace function  dump_csv( p_query     in varchar2,

  • How to output a query results into a text file

    How to output a query results into a text file instead of outputing it to the screen..
    is there a way for us to write a SQL query which specifies to output the query results to a text file.
    Pls let me know how to do it
    Thanking u in advance
    regards
    Muraly

    Muraly,
    If you are using SQL*Plus 8.1.6 or later, you can also spool output to a file in HTML format, eg
    SET MARKUP HTML ON SPOOL ON PREFORMAT OFF ENTMAP ON
    SPOOL c:\temp\report.html
    SELECT DEPARTMENT_NAME, CITY
    FROM EMP_DETAILS_VIEW
    WHERE SALARY>12000;
    SPOOL OFF
    SET MARKUP HTML ENTMAP OFF
    In iSQL*Plus 9.0.1 (the browser-based interface to SQL*Plus) onwards, you can also send the HTML output to a new web browser window, or an html file -- much easier than the command line method.

  • Export query results into .csv file?

    Hello I have a T-SQL script that gets row counts for a specified date range and then needs to loop (by incrementing +1 day to get the next day's counts) for a large date range.  I'm aiming to output & append each query results day counts
    into a .csv file via a SQL Agent job since this will take quite a while to complete.
    Would using the following as an example template...
    INSERT INTO OPENROWSET('Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0','Text;Database=D:\;HDR=YES;FMT=Delimited','SELECT * FROM [FileName.csv]')
    SELECT Field1, Field2, Field3
    FROM DatabaseName
    ...be the method or something else?
    If this is good to use I've tried running this but get the following error:
    Msg 7357, Level 16, State 2, Line 76
    Cannot process the object "SELECT * FROM [FileName.csv]". The OLE DB provider "Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0" for linked server "(null)" indicates that either the object has no columns or the current user does not have permissions
    on that object.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Techresearch7777777,
    The error in your post says that the file FileName.csv has to be created with the column names in the first row. Like:
    Field1,Field2,Field3
    Either you can create a schema.ini file under the same folder:
     [FileName.csv]
     Format=CSVDelimited
     ColNameHeader=False
     Col1=Field1 [DataType]
     Col2=Field2 [DataType]
     Col3=Field3 [DataType]
    For the [DataType],you can reference
    Schema.ini File (Text File Driver)

  • How can I export the query result into access(*.mdb) file?

    Dear all:
    I want to export the query result displayed in jsp into excel file
    and access file. And I have exported the result into excel format successfully, only one line should be added in the head of Jsp:
    <%@ page contentType="application/vnd.ms-excel; charset=gb2312" %>
    But how can I export it in access(*.mdb) file? I have replaced "excel"
    with "access". But it can't achive my goal.
    What should I do to achieve my goal?
    Thanks!

    The only reason your Excel export works is that Excel knows how to interpret comma separated values as an input file format. Access has no such beast.
    If you absolutely must provide info in an mdb, one solution would be to create an ODBC datasource pointing to an empty mdb, then push data into it using the jdbc:odbc bridge, then make a copy of the file and stream it down to the browser. You may run into some ugly file locking items here - set the ODBC connection so it is not shared, and that might help.
    This one is going to be ugly.
    I suppose another approach would be to write a simple VB applicatin that uses automation to create an MDB, then stream that file down to the browser from your servlet. That would almost certainly be faster than the ODBC approach.

  • How to call a SP with dynamic columns and output results into a .csv file via SSIS

    hi Folks, I have a challenging question here. I've created a SP called dbo.ResultsWithDynamicColumns and take one parameter of CONVERT(DATE,GETDATE()), the uniqueness of this SP is that the result does not have fixed columns as it's based on sales from previous
    days. For example, Previous day, customers have purchased 20 products but today , 30 products have been purchased.
    Right now, on SSMS, I am able to execute this SP when supplying  a parameter.  What I want to achieve here is to automate this process and send the result as a .csv file and SFTP to a server.
    SFTP part is kinda easy as I can call WinSCP with proper script to handle it.  How to export the result of a dynamic SP to a .CSV file?
    I've tried
    EXEC xp_cmdshell ' BCP " EXEC xxxx.[dbo].[ResultsWithDynamicColumns ]  @dateFrom = ''2014-01-21''"   queryout  "c:\path\xxxx.dat" -T -c'
    SSMS gives the following error as Error = [Microsoft][SQL Server Native Client 10.0]BCP host-files must contain at least one column
    any ideas?
    thanks

    Hey Jakub, thanks and I did see the #temp table issue in our 2008R2.  I finally figured it out in a different way... I manage to modify this dynamic SP to output results into
    a physical table. This table will be dropped and recreated everytime when SP gets executed... After that, I used a SSIS pkg to output this table
    to a file destination which is .csv.
     The downside is that if this table structure ever gets changed, this SSIS pkg will fail or not fully reflecting the whole table. However, this won't happen often
    and I can live with that at this moment.
    Thanks

  • Split records into Multiple csv files using a Threshold percentage

    Hi Gurus,
    I have a requirement to split the data into two csv file from a table using a threshold value(in Percentage) .
    Assume that If my source select query of interface fetches 2000 records , I will provide a threshold value like 20%.
    I need to generate a csv1 with 400 records(20% of 2000) and the rest of the records into another csv2.
    For implementing this I am trying to use the following process.
    1) Create a procedure with the select query to get the count of records.
    Total Records count: select count(1) from source_table <Joins> <Lookups> <Conditions>;
    2) Calculate the Record count to first CSV using the threshold_value.
    CSV1_Count=Total records count /threshold_value
    3) Create a view that fetches the CSV1_Count(400) records for CSV1 as follows.
    Create view CSV1_view as select Col1,Col2,Col3 from source_table <Joins> <Lookups> <Conditions>
    Where rownum<=CSV1_Count;
    4) Generate CSV1 file using View 'CSV1_View'
    5) Generate CSV2 File using the Interface with same select statement (with columns ) to generate a CSV.
    select Col1,Col2,Col3 from source_table ST <Joins> <Lookups> <Conditions>
    Left outer join (Select Col1 from CSV1_View ) CS on CS.Col1=ST.Col1 where CS.Col1 is null;
    Which gives the Total records minus the CS1_View records.
    The above process seems a bit complex and very simple . If any changes in my Interface I also need to change the procedure (counts the no:of records).
    Please provide your comments and feedback about this and looking for your inputs for any new simple approach or fine tune the above approach.
    Thanks,
    Arjun

    Arjun,
    This are my thoughts and Lets do it in 3 Steps
    Step 1.  ODI Procedure
    Drop table Temp_20 ;
    Create table Temp_20 as select * from table where rownum < ( SELECT TRUNC( COUNT(1) /5) FROM TABLE ) .
    [ ** This way iam fetching approx 20% of the table data and loading into Temp table . 1/5 th is 20%  so i am dividing count by 5
    I don't believe View will help you especially with RowNum as if you run the same query with rownum < N the rows order might differ . so Temp table is great ]
    Step 2 .  Use OdiSqlUnload  with select columns  from temp_20
    Step 3 . Use again OdiSqlUnload  with  select columns from table where  ( uk keys ) not in ( selecy uk_keys from temp_20)
    [** this way you can pick the remaining 80% ** and the data will be not repeat itself across 20% and 80% , as might happen with view ]
    what do you think ?

    Not certain this is what you're after, but this :
    #import the contents of both csv files
    $dbexcel=import-csv c:\dbexcel.csv
    $liveexcel=import-csv C:\liveexcel.csv
    #prepare the output csv and create the headers
    $outputexcel="c:\outputexcel.csv"
    $outputline="Name,Connection Status,Version,DbExcel,LiveExcel"
    $outputline | out-file $outputexcel
    #Loop through each record based on the number of records (assuming equal number in both files)
    for ($i=0; $i -le $dbexcel.Length-1;$i++)
    # Assign the yes / null values to equal the word equivalent
    if ($dbexcel.isavail[$i] -eq "yes") {$dbavail="Available"} else {$dbavail="Unavailable"}
    if ($liveexcel.isavail[$i] -eq "yes") {$liveavail="Available"} else {$liveavail="Unavailable"}
    #create the live of csv content from the two input csv files
    $outputline=$dbexcel.name[$i] + "," + $liveexcel.'connection status'[$i] + "," + $dbexcel.version[$i] + "," + $dbavail + "," + $liveavail
    #output that line to the csv file
    $outputline | out-file $outputexcel -Append
    should do what you're looking for, or give you enough to edit it to your exact need.
    I've assumed that the dbexcel.csv and liveexcel.csv files live in the root of c:\ for this, that they include the header information, and that the outputexcel.csv file will be saved to the same place (including headers).

    Hello All,
    Since yesterday and due to your help, I've found how to solve my problem.
    This post is only to share with you and with the others users of Expert Forums how to Write the results of an SQL Query in SAP Business One to a Text File without making it by exportation.
    Requested Text File by customer:
    Document type in R/3 If Invoice -- 'Z100' - Position 1 to 4 - 4 characters
    Supplier Code -- dbo.Table.CardCode -- Position 5 to 15 - 10 characters
    Item Code -- dbo.Table.ItemCode -- Position 11 to 25 - 14 characters

    Fixed Blank Field -- ' ' -- Position 101 to 120 - 19 blank spaces
    Quantity -- dbo.Table.Quantity -- Position 121 to 140 -- 19 characters
    Unit Price -- dbo.Table.PriceBefDi -- Position 141 to 160 -- 19 characters
    If Invoice Fixed identifier -- 'Z01' -- Position 161 to 163 -- 3 characters
    Fixed Blank Field -- ' ' -- Position 164 to 220 -- 56 characters
    Document Date -- dbo.Table.DocDate -- Position 221 to 229 - 8 characters
    Delivery Date -- dbo.Table.ActDelDate -- Position 230 to 238 - 8 characters
    Sales Order Number - dbo.Table.DocNum -- Position 239 to 260 - 21 characters
    Delivery Number - dbo.Table.DocNum -- Position 261 to 282 - 21 characters
    Follows the code:
    EXEC master..xp_cmdshell'bcp
    SELECT DISTINCT
    ''Z100''
    + ''ZP00002091''
    + IsNull(Convert(nVarChar(44), Cast(T0.DocNum As Numeric(38, 0))), '''')

    + ((LTRIM(RTRIM(T4.CardName)))) + SPACE(69-LEN(LTRIM(RTRIM(T4.CardName))))
    + ''                        ''
    + CONVERT(varchar(10), T0.DocDate, 112)
    + ''               ''
    FROM
    JFOTST.dbo.OINV T0
    INNER JOIN JFOTST.dbo.INV1 T1 ON T0.DocEntry = T1.DocEntry
    INNER JOIN JFOTST.dbo.ODLN T2 ON T2.DocNum=T1.BaseRef
    INNER JOIN JFOTST.dbo.DLN1 T3 ON T3.DocEntry=T2.DocEntry
    INNER JOIN JFOTST.dbo.OCRD T4 ON T1.U_NumConc=T4.AddId
    WHERE T0.CardCode=''C52''
    queryout "c:\text1.txt" -c -T -x'
    Note that in this code everytime you need to use the symbol ' you have to doble it like ''Fixed Text''.
    Be aware that there is one UDF so if you try to make this query run in your SB1 you will have to create a UDF called U_NumConc in the document lines.
    Database usage:
    JFOTST.dbo.OINV T0
    JFOTST.dbo - Database Name.
    OINV - Table
    T0  - Alias
    For any doubts I'll be available to help.
    Once again thank you very much for all your help.
    Together we are stronger!
    Kind Regards,

  • Correlation Between several Different Arrays & Saving Results Into a.CSV file

    Hello Everyone!
    I have 3 arrays from which I initialize a .CSV file when I run my VI (
    as you can see in the example file.)( I use data from other arrays as
    well but it is not important )
    The First array "customer Number" can be from 0 - 15
    The second array "Customer Present" is a Boolean.
    The Third array will contain some fix values like " milk, meat, clothing....." it will have 14 different categories.
    The Fifth array will contain the quantity of the products from each category from the previous array.
    My job is to add in my initialized .CSV file the values from the 4th and 5th array but only for the customers that are present.
    The result should look something like the second part of the doc I give( which sadly, I created by hand)
    If no customer has bought something from a category it should not be mentioned.
    Also it would be nice for me if I separated the file for each customer ( create 16 different files )
    I hope someone has some idea, because I don't.
    I figured out that I should have the bool array into a case structure and if the customer is present then........
    Thank you in advance!

    I don't understand where correlation fits into this...
    It seems to me that you're trying to write out a file from the values on front panel controls, rather than the other way around, as Bernd was suggesting. I see no actual read functions in your screenshot. What does your front panel look like? Can you post the VI and give a brief description on how it's supposed to be used? You seem to have some front panel arrays that you're indexing out. For this you should be using auto-indexing rather than using a fixed constant. Also, the local variables are completely unnecessary - what I see is text-based programming.

    I have a question in Oracle, if anyone knows how to do this. Please help me.
    How can I get the results of select query in Oracle loaded into a Excel file (.csv) file.
    Thanks in Advance,
    Sarada.

    Hi Sarada,
    as a csv is nothing more than a list of Comma Separated Values your best shot is to simply read do this with your values. read each value in an iteration add them to a string / stringbuffer and add a "," between them. When you read then next line in the ResultSet you just add a carriage return to the end. Depending on what format you want your csv list in.
    After you written all of this into a String you write this out to a file (unless you want to do it slower and write them line by line whenever you read them).
    Hope this helps,
    Kalle
