Exporting schema (Oracle 9i Solaris 9)

Hi Guys,
I want to create a dev. database so that I can play around oracle so I have done an export of my production. I then created a user on my dev box but now when I try to import the data it says user does not exist.
How do I create a schema if that's the case.
Thank you.

in your import parfile you need to use this:
fromuser=<user that is in the export> touser=<user you created in your dev db>
add this line along with the other parameters you specified:
imp userid=xxxxx/xxxxx file=xxxxxx log=xxxxxxx ignore=x fromuser=xxxxxxx touser=xxxxxxxx buffer=xxxxxxx

  • Export Schema Oracle 10g

    Simple question (I think)
When I run exp command does this export the entire schema + data or just the schema with no data?
Does it export all functions, roles, constraints etc?
    Thanks

as mentioned above by others depends upon options you use...
you can mention grants=y/n ..constraints =y/n ..rows=y/n (data) and yes when you export full schema the functions, procedures & packages, roles & privileges will get exported along with it..... !!

Same way I do it in Linux SuSE

    call the exp routine
pass the correct parameters to the exp routine
The correct parameters may be found in the Utilities manual for your version at http://tahiti.oracle.com - specifically look for 'owner='

  • Import/export schema with ODI

    Hi all,
do you know if with ODI11g I can import a full schema from Oracle database to another Oracle database?
    Thanks
    Erika

why don't use imp/exp command to export schema from source db and import into target db.
    1) export11g ODI repository schemas in DMP files
    example : my 11g schemas are "ODI_MASTER" and "ODI_WORK"
    exp userid=odi_master/*odi_master* file=c:\odi_master.dmp
    exp userid=odi_work/*odi_work* file c:\odi_work.dmp
    2) import the dump file into new schemas in the new database (or is it the same database ? in my case, it was a different one)
    imp userid=SYSTEM/password touser=odi_master fromuser=odi_master file=c:\odi_master.dmp
    imp userid= SYSTEM/password touser=odi_work fromuser=odi_work file=c:\odi_work.dmp

  • Codition records for Export scheme.

    Dear Experts ,
For new export scheme I have to create condition records based on Departure Country / Destination Country / Control Code. I have created a new table with mentioned fields. but while creating  condition records in VK11 , we are getting  error message as " Object Control code not provided with characteristic 30042019". here 30042019 is the control code.
    Ex. IN/US/ 3001429
I think some link is required to maintain Control code with countries other then India.
Please help to resolve this issue .

Ah I see, your company prefers stupidity over efficiency. It would be possible to do it in a controlled environment, wouldn't it? Also the test database would be allowed to select only.
So the non-allowance is just plain stupid.
To the second question: do you use hard-coded passwords in shell scripts?
Don't you think that poses a security risk?
Don't you think that is a bigger risk than a database link, properly set up?
    In my book it is!

  • Export schema from tablespace

    Hello Everyone,
I work with an enterprise application that uses oracle to store meta data and objects as well as BLOB's in the tablespace.
I have a question about exporting schema's from a table space.
    I have Oracle 9.2.0.8 in Windows 2003.
I have a tablespace called TestData02, I created 2 users (orauser1 and orauser2) both with this table space as the default. From within my enterprise application I would use it's tool to initialize the tablespace and create a schema.
What I did was create 2 schema's under one tablespace, one schema owned by 'orauser1' and another by 'orauser2'.
Now I'd like to export everything owned by the user 'orauser2' and create a new tablespace called TestData03 and import this schema and all associated data and BLOBS into here.
I've been reading about the exp and imp tools, but just can't figure out how to export a schema ... I did figure out (i think) how to export the entire table space, but thats not what I want.
Can anyone help me ... I am quite new to oracle.

    Hi Pavan,
Before 10g expdp and impdp (this is one of the reasons why versions are really important), any ''dependent' objects will not be 'remapped'.
Let's say you have T1 in TS1, and a primary key in IX_TS1.
Now you move the table to a different user with different tablespaces.
You can 'move' the table, using the default tablespace of the new owner, however, the index will be created in the old tablespace.
This is why you often need to precreate objects.
Without seeing the definition of the LOBsegment, there is no conclusive evidence, but you probably do have a LOBsegment in TS1, which isn't going to be 'remapped'
expdp and impdp will take care of this with the remap_tablespace clause.

  • File does not exist: /export/home/oracle/orahtml/marvel/images/spacer.gif

Seeing this error in the apache log:
    File does not exist: /export/home/oracle/orahtml/marvel/images/spacer.gif
I know there are spacer.gif files under the theme folders but why is it looking for a spacer.gif file in the images folder? Is this a bug?

    Hello,
Yes I just checked it's a problem with theme 9 there are a couple of places where the theme calls #IMAGE_PREFIX#spacer.gif when it should call #IMAGE_PREFIX#themes/theme_9/spacer.gif
There are two ways for you to fix this
    1. Copy themes/theme_9/spacer.gif to the top level images directory, I recommend this one because then if someone creates the theme from the repository again it wont' come up agian.
    2. Change all #IMAGE_PREFIX#spacer.gif to #IMAGE_PREFIX#themes/theme_9/spacer.gif in theme 9, if you export the theme you can just us a search and replace the export to do this and then reapply the theme.
This as been bugged and will get fixed in future version.

    Hi Mouni,
As i suggest above, please use the REMAP_SCHEMA parameter, so that you can create those objects which are getting created in the Apps Schema in the XBSI schema, I have already provided the syntax above.
