Exposing MDM LOGS as webservices

Hi Experts,
Does anybody knows if it's possible to expose the MDM logs as a webservice or even connect trough any Portal iview on it?
Thanks in advance,
Armando Martines Neto

Hi,
Logs are just the files. So, as per my knowledge, you can connect to the logs folder usin portal and display the files on that...Or if possible, you can directly connect to Logs in MDM Console under server node and display it on portal.

Dheeraj.

  • NC Log Complete webservice error

    Hello,
    Before opening an OSS message, the rule is first ask the forum...
    So I have trouble with NC Log Complete webservice. When trying to invoke it from SOAP UI, I got the following error :
    No enum const class com.sap.me.nonconformance.ScrapOption
    When looking into the log, I see a nice Java dump, here is an extract...
    [EXCEPTION]

    Anyone has an idea ?
    If I submit the request though the production XML jsp page, with same parameter as in my SOAP UI request, it's ok.
    We are using ME 5.2.5.8.
    Thanks

    Hi  Mikhail
    I don't pass any scrap option, and I don't see any "scrap option" field in the WS definition...
    I see a ScrapComponentOption, but which is optional as I can see in the "documentation" (example will be nice anyway in the document)
    <me:ScrapComponentOption>
    When the disposition function Scrap is selected or a Scrap step is selected, this is the selected scrap option. Required if disposition function or selected step is a scrap step with multiple scrap options and components are assembled onto the current SFC.
    It's not clear what should go there and if I need to put something in...
    I know the request is quite complex and will not be displayed in a friendly format, but here it is...

  • Problem with logging in webservices

    I need one tech help for the team.
    We are using log4j for logging purpose.
    Actually we have one web application which is already developed and using log4j for logging purpose.
    And as an enhancement , we are having Webservices project on the application.
    We are using same log4j for logging the webservices details also.But we use different properties file to include different file names.
    The application is developed using j2ee technologies and the server used is JBOSS-Apache tomcat server
    The problem we are facing is the writing to log file by the main application and webservices application becoming inconsistent,for eg: sometimes both are writing properly ,sometimes,webservices writes and not the main application...it stops logging and viceversa..but if we repeat the same,we are able to get the same kind of inconsistencies without any change...
    if u know about log4j please let me know.

    What do you mean main application and webservice? I guess your main application is webservice client and both of them have different process and try to share to use same log file. In this case, the client can waiting for webservice method call, set enough timeout for that.
    or translate Exception from webservice to your main aplication, and let main application to control the log file.
    Or for Log4j in XML it can define different output at same time, just define one for main application and one for main application

  • Exposing business services as webservices

    Hi All,
    Im new to webservices.I have a running java web application.
    I need to expose some methods as webservices.
    Can it be possible to create a single ear file,using which i can access webapplication and webservice wsdl file and how
    Regards,
    Bhuvan.

    Yes, you can mix different type of J2EE artifacts in a single application. The easiest way to do this may be to use JDeveloper 10g (or the 11g Tech Preview) and to build you web service application, then add the remaining of you web application into the same project.
    Hope it helps,

  • MDM Log / EPCF Eventing in Result and Item Details Iview

    Hi,
    I have EP7 with SP15 and MDM 6.0, recently upgraded. Before upgrade we have an application which uses the MDM iviews and maps the fields of one table to other and displays in some other iview.
    The application was working fine before upgrade of MDM. But after upgrade, the mapping seems not working.
    My scenario is as : Using MDM Search iview, I search records from MDM repository, Main Table. This result is displayed in MDM Result iview. From this result iview, I select a record. From this selected record, a field is mapped to the other table. The mapped record, then, is displayed in MDM Details Iview.
    After MDM upgrade, whenever we select a record from the result of table 1,the mapped iview throws erros :
    Error occurred: Error performing search. com.sap.mdm.internal.protocol.manual.ServerException: Illegal value for parameter, com.sap.mdm.internal.protocol.manual.ServerException: Illegal value for parameter (see log for details)
    when serached log : Key is not found in table:<Table1>-KeyMappings it may have been deleted or renamed, please use editor to fix the problem##
    We have used EPCF eventing for MDM iviews.
    I have written some code to check the values passed from Result Iview and seen that the values are being passed correctly...Now think, i should also have a check in MDM how the values are recieved and mapped...
    Any idea how I can use MDM log service to do this? Or any idea how I can enable MDM log to monitor what comes in and what goes out?
    has anyone out there faced same issue ?
    Please let me know your views.
    Regards,
    Abhijeet

    Solved at my own. The MDM SP6 needs the subtable key field to be TEXT type.

  • MDM Logs

    HI MDM Gurus,
    where can i see logs for MDM server. i see there is a log table in Admin part of console.
    Also there are log files in Distribution folders.
    Thanks.
    Jyoti

    Hi Jyoti,
    Log files document all the operations that are specific to a server. We can take up an example:
    When a web page is requested from within our web browser (explorer, fire fox), the request is made to a web server that fetches the page from either a database or a file system. So, when the server collects this page and all its associated images, flash objects and the like, it records all these tasks in a Log file. This log file includes data on who requested the page?
    Same is the case with MDM for e.g. when we take an archive of a repository, a log file is generated by the MDM Server which contains all the information like name of the repository of which archive is taken, version of MDM Server, name of the server, path of the location where it is saved, the time at which the archive is taken.
    We can categorize MDM Logs in two categories:
    Server Logs: Shows details about all the operations which are performed on the server like system level (startup/ shutdown), major operations (update, create slave), SQL errors (if enabled), performance timers etc. Various logs come under this.
    Audit Logs: Logs for logon attempts on the MDM Server.
    Assertion Logs: Logs for all errors on the MDM Server.
    Server Logs: Logs for all actions on the MDM Server.
    Schema Export Log: Give details about exporting of schema like when export was started and when it was finished.
    Schema Import Log: Gives details about schema import.
    Repository Logs: These show all the activities performed on the repository such as loading, unloading, backing up etc. Following Logs come under this category:
    Load Logs: Give details about loading of a repository.
    Archive Logs: Provides information like name of the repository of which archive is taken, version of the MDM Server, name of the server, time at which archive is taken etc
    Unarchive Log: Similarly when we will Unarchive it, a log file is generated again containing the name of the new repository created, time etc
    Workflow Log: Gives details like no of launched/ unlaunched jobs in our workflow, what error has occurred in workflow
    Export Log: Gives details about syndication process
    Hope it will help you.

    Bis

  • Exposing OIM APIs as webservice

    Hi,
    I wanted to know if i can expose OIM APIs as webservice?
    As per my reqmnt, i need to implement forgot password and change password functionality for OIM users from a portal application.
    So wanted to know if I can use OIM APIs say getChallengeValuesForSelf , compareChallengeValuesForSelf, changePasswordForSelf and then expose them as webservice?

    Can I do this...
    Create a WebService using NetBeans Editor...
    In it add a web method, which basically is using OIM API say getChallengeValuesForUser to fetch some value and then returning it as output of this web method?
    I'll be setting all the system properties required for calling OIM API here itself and also would make the connection to OIM here.
    I tried doing so, but getting an exception while I try to deploy the webservice,
    com.sun.xml.ws.model.RuntimeModelerException: The web service defined by the class weblogic.wsee.async.AsyncResponseBeanSoap12 does not contain any valid WebMethods.
    Kindly suggest.

  • Exposing DB adapter as webservice

    Hi ,
    Is it possible to expose DB adapter as webservice?
    Thanks,
    Ramesh

    Yes it is possible. Create a new project in Jdeveloper. Create new dbadatpter. Then create a deployment profile and deploy it to the server.
    Alternatively, if the dbadapter is deployed with the BPEL process, go to the BPEL Console and click the process. Click on the Descriptors tab and you can see a link to the wsdl of the dbadapter there.

  • Exposing MDM vendor information through the Portal

    We are looking to expose certain MDM vendor information (such as; create, modify, etc) through the Portal and allow the users to update their information via the portal.
    For example, vendor X will log onto the portal, they will only see their specific vendor details and will be able to modify their address, bank details, etc... through a number of iViews.
    Please assume that we will be using the latest version of MDM (5.5 SP3?) and EP6.0 SP14.
    My questions are:
    - is there a business package that will provide us with that specific functionality?
    - if not what is the best way (if it is actually possible) of exposing this functionality through the portal (I guess we would need to create a web dynpro component)?
    Many thanks

    Hi James,
    We have business package for MDM SP3 with some built-in iviews, which was released in Nov/Dec 2005. They also have create/modify iviews.
    But they don't have iViews to add to a qualified table. In your case for Bank details I don't think you can use the existing iviews.
    Thanks

  • Exposing Oracle CEP as WebService

    Can you explain a step by step process to expose an Oracle CEP application through web services?
    I was using the steps mentioned into the following link -
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E14571_01/doc.1111/e14301/webservconfig.htm - Step 14.3
    I have followed the steps but while deploying the Oracle CEP server was throwing error stating - 'bea-jaxws.xml' is not found.
    If you know some way to make 'bea-jaxws.xml' recognizable by the server please let me know.

    You need to
    1) configure glashfish webservice at server's config.xml:
    <glassfish-ws>
    <name>JAXWS</name>
    <http-service-name>JettyServer</http-service-name>
    </glassfish-ws>
    2) configure a bea-jaxws.xml at META-INF
    <endpoints>
    <endpoint>
    <name>EchoService</name>
    <implementation-class>
    sample.echoservice.EchoService
    </implementation-class>
    <url-pattern>/echo</url-pattern>
    <wsdl-location>
    /META-INF/wsdl/echoservice.wsdl
    </wsdl-location>
    <service-name>
    {http://example.cep.oracle.com}EchoService
    </service-name>
    <port-name>
    {http://example.cep.oracle.com}EchoPort
    </port-name>
    </endpoint>
    </endpoints>
    3) state the webservice configuration location at META-INF/MANIFEST.MF
    BEA-JAXWS-Descriptor: META-INF/bea-jaxws.xml
    4) implement the webservice like below:
    import javax.jws.WebMethod;
    import javax.jws.WebResult;
    import javax.jws.WebParam;
    import javax.jws.WebService;
    import javax.jws.soap.SOAPBinding;
    @WebService(name="SimplePortType", serviceName="EchoService",
    portName="EchoPort",
    targetNamespace="http://example.cep.oracle.com")
    @SOAPBinding(style=SOAPBinding.Style.DOCUMENT,
    use=SOAPBinding.Use.LITERAL,
    parameterStyle=SOAPBinding.ParameterStyle.BARE)
    public class EchoService{
    @WebMethod()
    @WebResult(name="echoWorldResponse", targetNamespace="http://example.cep.oracle.com", partName="parameters")
    public String echoWorld(String message) {
    System.out.println("echo:" + message);
    return "echo:" + message;
    Note that only SOAPBinding.ParameterStyle.BARE is supported in OCEP for now.
    Let me know if you still have question.

  • Exposing cached data as webservice

    Hi all,
    I am planing to put an xml file data in cache i.e by making the xml data as a string and putting it in the cache. Now I want to expose this cached data as webservice. How can I do that. I am a newbie, pardon my ignorance.
    Thanks,
    PS

    Hi,
    You can either place your config file in your application classpath.
    http://wiki.tangosol.com/display/COH32UG/Cache+Configuration+Elements
    Or you can set from the command line or maybe from a startup script like catalina.bat using
    the following -D argument.
    -Dtangosol.coherence.cacheconfig=pathtofile
    The following has more information as well.
    http://wiki.tangosol.com/display/COH32UG/Command+Line+Setting+Override+Feature

  • How can I log the WebService-http stack in JDK

    I have a WebService server in jdk (no applicationserver)
    I have a class with @Webservice and publish it with EndPoint.publish(...
    My users sometimes gets "500 bad request" or something when they make calls with invalid http or xml.
    How can I make java to log this? I want to see in my log when a user send a invalid call, and how the call looked like.
    How do I turn on the logging and direct it in a file. java.util.logging? Which classes? Anyone that have a good config-file for this?

    well for starters, doing "com.sun.xml.ws.transport.http.HttpAdapter.dump = true;" will cause the raw http information to be dumped to stdout.

  • Authentication when Exposing EJB as a webservice

    Hello,
    can anybody advice me on how to expose a webservice for an ejb on the CE plattform, that requires authentication from the consumer.
    In earlier EJB EP7 implementation I had the possiblity to work with the webservice configuration and define it in the security section.
    This feature I miss, when I use @webservice annotation?
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards, Jens

    got it...
    if you run into the same problem,here's the solution
    go to nwa --> configuration management --> infrastructure and then to the
    webservice configuration section...
    the rest is straight forward.
    best regards, Jens
