Exposing plsql Packages as webservices using JDeveloper

Hi folks,
I'm using Jdeveloper to publish database package/ procedures as webservices.These procedures use objects types as parameters (Varchar2's). I can generate the webservices (by the JDeveloper wizard), the WSDL file is generated;
Question is about the required and optional fields. In my procedure declaration I defined the input as Varchar2 and also defined a default
Procedure p ( p_var IN VARCHAR2 Default NULL) AS
BEGIN
NULL;
END;
But when I deploy this package as webservice (via jdeveloper) to our weblogic server, and run a test, I get errors related to required fields if I don't pass in any value.
Invalid input arguments for the following fields: p_var value required
How would I change this behavior ? I made the procedures to accept default parameters ( even when no value is passed I would want my code to run)

Found out to be an issue with Oracle Fusion Middleware control (http://<hostname>:<port>/em ) validating for required Inputs, but when tested with SOAP UI or Web logic Test Client (http://<hostname>:<port>/wls_utc) it works as expected. Reported the issue to Oracle Support and the problem has been reproduced there.

How to pass a Variable value into an ODI Scenario from ODI Package

I have created an Interface that uses the variable #ENTITY_ID for retrieving entity data from the DWH; now I have generated a Scenario from the interface and placed the Scenario in an ODI Package; am not sure how to pass the #ENTITY_ID variable to the ODI Scenario?
Any help is greately appreciated.

Yeah I got the pop up asking to select the variables used, I have selected ENTITY_ID that was used by the interfaces, but on execution of the package the Scenario did not work as the passeed variable #ENTITY_ID is set to 0 instead of the value I am passing.
Am I missing something?

In fact an FM is standard a WS in WebAS 6.2 (what's under the hood of 4.7) and you can consult them via the webservicebrowser where you can find the WSDL and stuff.

If your data store is in CDC and you are setting the property named Journalized data only at the interface level then you can set the IKM property named synchronous_jrn_delete . It will take care of the delete operation .

I have started to work with BPEL PM (2.0.10) bbpelz 0.0.95. Now I would
understand how I can wire an extern WebService (like a PLSQL WebService
created in JDeveloper from a package) to BPEL.
Therefore I look for Examples from BPEL - AmazonFlow or GoogleFlow. Then I set the ProxySettings in the orabpel\bin\obsetenv.bat. I've got the error:

I followed your suggestion and linked my BPEL service to a WebService through the WSDL that is remotely accessible as in "{color:#0000ff}http://localhost:8988/scratch/kibailey/view_storage/kibailey_SOA/.jdev_user_home/mywork/OptyEventsService/Model/classes/EventsAMService?wsdl{color}" instead of directly accessing the WSDL file. This Webservice is of course deployed at the above mentioned server and location and the server is up.
But when I run my BPEL process, I still get this message "{color:#ff0000}Reference EventsAMService does not exist as wire target{color}". I have cross checked other WSDL dependencies and they are fine.
I am currently using JDev 11g drop 6 through ADE (linux). I have exposed a BC4J component (Application Module) as a WebService.
Please let me know of any resolution.

Yes, you can mix different type of J2EE artifacts in a single application. The easiest way to do this may be to use JDeveloper 10g (or the 11g Tech Preview) and to build you web service application, then add the remaining of you web application into the same project.

If Class B only has a reference to an Interface A, and that reference points to a concrete instance of Class A, then of course Class B can still call the method on Interface A. The method for concrete instance Class A is called behind the scenes.
That's how interfaces work. That's what they're good for.
Look at the code in the java.sql package for examples. Connection, Statement, ResultSet - all are interfaces. But behind the scenes you're using the concrete implementations provided by your JDBC driver. You don't know or care what those classes are or their package structure. All you do is make calls to the java.sql interface API, and it all works. - MOD

How to expose an ERP function as an enterprise service

I am searching for an enterprise service which can create a contract account for a business partner (in the FA/CA area). It seems no such a service operation is availalbe after exhaustive search in the ESWorkplace and ESR. (Please correct me if you know where to find it). As an alternative, I think it is probably the only way to create an ABAP (?) service by my own, which does the job, and then to publish it as a WS service.
Is there anyone who knows how to do it or can point me the documents about how to do that? Thanks a lot.

I didn't search for service but if you want to expose existing functionality as webservice then first find which FM/BAPI etc working behind that business function.
Next step would be exposing that BAPI/FM as service which can be done using transaction SE80 (Web Service Creation Wizard).
If no BAPI/FM available then probably you need to write something to exploit current business transaction.
For tutotial please search SCN for keyword: "Web Service Creation Wizard".
