Exs24 sound file suddenly stops

Hi all!
I built an exs24 instrument. Only one key (c1) plays an audio file. This file has a duration about 2 minutes. I selected "one shot" - so the file play after I pushed the key at my keyboard once.
Here's my problem:
The file does not play the 2 minutes, sometimes its 4 seconds then its 25 seconds then its 16 seconds, you never know.
Any ideas?

This problem started for me two days ago after the Apple repair centre reloaded my operating system on my MacBook. They did that because I have a recurring problem where my Mac sends out some bizarre corrupting signal to my Airport Express and resets it so the light goes from green to flashing orange. They have already replaced the MacBook wireless card and given me a new Airport Express. Everything works fine on a PC with iTunes.
So when I get my 're-installed' Mac back, I set it playing to the AE and, even though it didn't reset the AE for quite a few hours, I go out and when I come back there is no audio at all - not from the MacBook and not from the AE speakers either (even though the light is still green).
On the Mac, even as I type now, iTunes is playing but there is no audio coming from the computer at all. Even if I jump to a new track (which sometimes doesn't even start to play in the slider bar at the top) or pause and the re-start, no audio.
The only way to do get the audio back is to close down iTunes and start it again. Very frustrating. Weird thing is it actually did it on the PC too which it had never done before.
Oh, and the Mac is back to re-setting the Airport Express too. **** knows what is wrong.

Sound just suddenly stopped on my laptop

I am on my laptop and all of a sudden there is no sound. I checked the volume, it is on, I tried turning the laptop on and off and that still didn't help.
I am unsure of what to do, I went into control panel, clicked on system and security, find and fix problems and followed the instructions, that did not work. Said troubleshooting couldn't identify the problem. I have no idea what to do next. It was working while I was listening to a youtube video, then it just stopped.
Any advice for a not-so-savvy computer person.

I see that you are having problems with the sound on your HP computer. I have some suggestions that may help with this issue.
Here is a link to some troubleshooting steps for sound issues on your computer. It includes some steps you already tried but continue past those and try the other steps including reinstalling the sound drivers.

Photoshop CS3 Not Reading CR2 files ( Suddenly stopped reading!)

      I have been using photoshop CS3 for years now to work on CR2 Camera Raw formats ( Canon 40D). After months of not working on any photos
      now that i try to open any CR2 file i receive the message that says :
      "Photoshop Does not recognize this type of file"
        I have OS 10.5.8
        I searched Adobe website and did download Camera Raw 6.6 convertor but i think it is not a correct application for CS3.
        I would appreciate if you can provide the link for the correct upgrade for me or let me know how can i fix this problem. thanks

Photoshop CS3 can take only up to Camera Raw 4.6. Camera Raw 4.6 DOES understand Canon 40D files.
I don't know why it would have stopped working for you, but a good start would be to make sure you have 4.6. Go to the Help - About Plug-in... menu (might be in a different place than Help on a Mac; I'm a PC guy) and look for Camera Raw.
If you don't have Camera Raw 4.6, go to this page:

If after ensuring you have Camera Raw 4.6 you still see the problem, I would worry that somehow your photo files have become corrupted, or that something else is wrong with your system. Let us know here if the problem persists.

Sound has suddenly stopped on my hp laptop. how can i fix this?

I have the hp Pavillion dv6 running Windows 7. The sound stopped after I loaned the laptop to a woman from church whose house was struck by lightening, until she could buy another computer. My computer was not in her house when it was struck by lightening, and I don't want to tell her about the problem, because she has enough on her hands right now.
I have tried to adjust the sound myself, and have used the sound diagnostic tools, but every tool says that it can't find any problem. But there is no sound. Can you help me?

Audio on .AVI Files Suddenly Stops Working

I've started capturing some of my game playing using MSI Afterburner. Things have been going great over the last week. I would record a session, bring it into Premiere Pro CS5, edit the video, and export it with ease. (After a couple days of fiddling around)
Fast forward to today and I do my same steps, except now when I add a captured video the audio wont play in the source, nor will it play in the sequence. In fact, the audio channel in the sequence doesnt even show up. The audio levels dont even move.
I can add exported media from previously finished videos and the audio works fine. I can record my own vocals and the audio works fine. When I load up past projects, after re-connecting the media, I get the message, "Audio does not match the connected media's format."
Here is what the file properties look like.
Here is what my Premiere layout looks like with the audio channel not being recongnized. (Its kinda messy because I've been reorganized things to see if different things work + only using one monitor.)
What I've tried:
1. Messing around with my Audio preferences in Premiere Pro CS5 and Windows 7 64-bit control panel.
2. Updating my audio drivers
3. Re-installing Premiere Pro CS5
4. Changing the audio tracks to mono,stereo, and 5.1 - still nothing showed up.
What happened before this started occuring:
This weekened I picked up a new external HDD to store the video captures on. During this time I organized other hard drivers, but nothing on my main system install/Adobe install drive. I deleted some unknown files on a drive that wasnt used anymore. A part of me is worried I deleted some stray audio/video codecs that Premiere Pro CS5 might have been using to play these files. Is that even possible? Would that matter?
Right now im re-installing Afterburner.
Any suggestions?

The first two things that I would consider would be:
Upon Import, did you allow PrPro time to fully Conform the Audio? See this article for more detail: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/726693?tstart=0
Check that the Export settings in your video screen-cap program have not changed, such as Multiplexing = OFF, or perhaps the Export setting for the Audio have been altered.

Actionscript 3 coding to return to home page 10 secs after sound file stops

Hi..
I am having some problems with my Flash Project.
At the moment the whole thing works but I now need it to do something I have never done before.
Basically, the user will select a page and the project will then run, via actionscript 3.0 coding, a sound file and display the appropriate page within the timeline.
I have a back button that once tapped will return to home page.
I now need it to return to home page 10 secs after the sound file has stopped as well as keep the function of the back button.
What do I do?
I can provide the coding I am using if required.
I am currently using Flash Pro CS6 on a Win 7 Pro PC.

Thank you Ned for your help, however as I do not really understand how the settimeout function works, it has now made me more confused.
I think I have nutted out what I am trying to say.
Essentially my project is like a web page if you like.
I have six individual pages which all display a picture and play a sound file.
What I would like to do is after each page is selected it will play a sound file, I then want it to wait 10 secs and then go back to a
home page (which will be frame 1) or if they are impatient there is a back button that directs you back to frame 1.
I have included the code used by the back button to manually get back to frame 1 either whilst the sound file is playing or after it has finished

New mail sound suddenly stopped working

I assigned a 'new mail sound' (wav file) and for no apparent reason suddenly stopped working. Anyone else experienced this ?

This sometimes happens to me too, as well as my alerts with iChat. I have to restart the computer and that fixes it for me. Hope that is the case with you as well.

Need to play and stop sound file with 1 ms resolution

Hi,
I'm trying to open a .wav file then later play it at a time when another parallel loop activates a boolean local variable which controls playback in my "sound" loop. I need high time resolution in stopping the playing of the .wav file, ~1ms. From what I've gathered, I can't use the "sound output write.vi" because it locks the loop until it finishes outputting a set number of samples. Because of this, "sound output stop.vi" has to wait until the next iteration, which is more than ~1 ms.
In the help menu of the Sound Ouput VIs it says you can set the task ID for the "sound output start.vi" using the "sound output configure.vi." Unfortunately I've only been able to use the "sound output start.vi" following "play sound file.vi", and I don't really know why this is the case.
I can't start my sound with the "play sound file.vi" because it locks the loop its in until it finishes playing the sound. Oddly this only happens when there is a parallel loop running, if I run it by itself, with no other loops, it doesn't lock the loop. I thought it might have something to do with the local variable, but the loop doesn't lock when the loop restarts the sound using the "sound output start.vi."
After opening a .wav file, can i use the "sound output configure.vi" to create a task ID for the "sound output start.vi" to work? Or do I have to use the "sound output write.vi" after calling the "sound output configure.vi." The help menu makes it seem like the prior suggestion is possible.

Since it sounds like the problem you're running into is getting the data loaded from the file before you're ready to play it, look at the Files sub-palette, specifically the Sound File Read Simple VI. You can use this VI to load the data into a waveform and have it ready for use later in the program.
So in your overall program, read the file with Sound File Read Simple and configure the output with Sound Output Configure and call Sound Output Write when you're ready to play the waveform.

I have checked Settings-Sounds & Settings-Notification Centre and everything looks fine.
It worked ok a couple of weeks ago but not after the latest update - anyone know why?

I omitted to say that it only occurs when the screen is locked - if I'm looking at something on my phone when an sms or email arrives, the phone 'notifies' me with a sound but doesnt do it when its screen is locked. Email messages and sms's (texts) still arrive but I get no sound to tell me they have.
The MUTE swith is in the correct place and I have tried resetting the phone with the Home and Sleep buttons several times, still to no avail.
I have noticed on the forums that many people are suffering or have suffered the same problem but Apple are never forthcoming, of course,

Try the following.
Download the IDT Audio installer on the link below and save it to your Downloads folder.
http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp56501-57000/sp56900.exe
When done, open windows Control Panel, open Device Manager and open up Sound, Video and Game Controllers. Right click the IDT device and select Uninstall - you should also get a prompt to remove the current driver, tick the box to allow this and then proceed with the uninstall.
When complete,download and reinstall the Chipset driver on the link below.
Chipset Driver - Windows 7.
When this has completed, shut down the notebook, unplug the AC Adapter and then hold down the Power and Beats buttons for 10 seconds. When done, reconnect the AC Adapter.
Tap away at the esc key as you start the notebook to launch the Start-up Menu and then select f10 to enter the bios menu. Press f5 to load the defaults ( this is sometimes f9, but the menu at the bottom will show the correct key ), use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and hit enter. Press f10 to save the setting and again use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and hit enter.
Let Windows fully load - it will automatically load an audio driver, but just let this complete. Then open your Downloads folder, right click on the IDT installer and select 'Run as Administrator' to start the installation. When this has completed, right click the speaker icon in the Taskbar and select Playback Devices. Left click 'Speakers and Headphones' once to highlight it and then click the Set Default button - check if you now have audio.

How do I stop a sound file that is playing while Firefox is open that sounds like a PacMan Game? It started when I downloaded the current Adobe DLM, but continues when disable. It begins playing each time I open FireFox, but gets interferred with when opening a web page.

Do you get sound on any apps e.g. Music and Videos but not others ? If you do then have you got notifications muted ? Only notifications (including games) get muted, so the Music and Videos apps, and headphones, still get sound.
Depending on what you've got Settings > General > Use Side Switch To set to (mute or rotation lock), then you can mute notifications by the switch on the right hand side of the iPad, or via the taskbar : double-click the home button; slide from the left; and it's the icon far left; press home again to exit the taskbar. Final Cut Suddenly Stopped Recognizing Files It Had Recognized Before

FCE 4 has suddenly stopped recognizing certain files that it has recognized without a problem for the past several years I’ve used the program. It won’t recognize 1920x1080 mp4, but it WILL recognize 1920x1080 mov and it WILL recognize 1080x720 mp4. All .h264 codec. Using AIC 1080x60i in FCE. It also won’t recognize .jpg or .tif. There was no software update that could have thrown this off. It was a working one day, not working the next kind of situation. Files play fine in QT. Reinstalled the program. I still get the same File Error: Unknown File. Any ideas?

Sounds suddenly stop working

Certain sounds on my iPhone (text alerts, text sent sound, etc) will suddenly stop working. I will get notification of an incoming text with a sound all day long and then out of the blue there will be no sound to accompany the alerts anymore. When I send a text, I always hear a sound when it sends the text...but just like the alerts, the sound for that will suddenly quit too.
Yes, I've checked the loud/silent switch. I've checked the volume. The only thing that seems to fix this issue is powering off and back on.
I don't use headphones (I've seen this can sometimes cause the silent mode to get stuck) so that isn't the problem. I thought maybe it had something to do with the bluetooth connection in my car but the sound will quit sometimes when the bluetooth is off and I'm nowhere near my car.
I had this issue with my iPhone 4s and just put up with it until I got the new iPhone 6, figuring I wouldn't have the issue anymore with a new phone. My iPhone 6 is still doing this so I'm guessing there is some crazy, hidden setting somewhere I'm not aware of, or there is something wonky in the iOS.
This is incredibly frustrating as I have not known about an urgent message because the phone didn't make any alert sound to let me know I received a message.

Was wondering if you had found a solution for this? I went to the Genius Bar 3 seperate times to get this exact issue resolved. First they reset my phone as a new phone, then they replaced my speaker, and finally they replaced my phone. Still, with a brand new phone, it is happening. I have iphones for a long time and do not believe I am doing anything differently. Have you found something that worked for you? Thanks!
