Extended Download Protocol problem
Hello all,
I want to use Extended Download Protocol in my JNLP file. How should i do that?
I have included a version.xml file in the app folder which has all the detilas.
Would this be enough to genrate the JarDiff.
How should i request or tell the servlet it is a extended download protocol and i need jardiff to work.
Thanks and regards,
Anjali
Elbert,
I you are doing only standard receiver determination only and using certain condition you are sending to different targets. If yes check this url:
/people/prasadbabu.nemalikanti3/blog/2006/09/20/receiver-determination-based-on-the-payload-of-input-dataextended-xpathcontext-object
Can you please put the payload after message mapping and the xpath condition you mentioned. or if you are doing enhanced receiver determination please check this:

"DBSL does not support extended connect protocol" while configuring SSFS
Hi, I'm trying to configure ssfs on ERP EHP7 on HANA Database system. Doing it with this guide - SSFS Implementation for Oracle Database
But when I'm trying to test connection with r3trans I got following error in the log:
4 ETW000 [ dev trc,00000] read_con_info_ssfs(): DBSL does not support extended connect protocol
4 ETW000 ==> ssfs won't be used 26 0.004936
I already updated DBSL_LIB to the latest version, but it doesn't help.
Here is full log:

hello - downloading app problems - this phone can only be usedto download apps in uk or something - think i am linking to the us apps - how do i link to the uk apps?
taYou're welocme
Depending on the size of the app or the connection speed when using Wi-Fi it could take a little longer to download. You can also try to download it onto your computer, might be faster, and sync it to the phone after that.

Extended Content type problem
I want to extend the content type 'ExtendDocument' from 'Document'.
So I use 'Oracle Internet File System Manager' to create a new Class Object named 'EXTENDDOCUMENT', which is extend from 'DOCUMENT', and add a attribute 'EXTENDURL'.
This Class Object's bean class is 'ifs.beans.ExtendDocument' and server class is 'ifs.server.S_ExtendDocument'.
I create these 2 java class and put the class files to ORACLE_AS_HOME\ifs\cmsdk\custom_classes directory.
As I want to set the object type as 'ExtendDocument' when uploading a file which expend name is '*.wmv', so that need to change 2 default value 'ParserLookupByFileExtension' and 'IFS.PARSER.ObjectTypeLookupByFileExtension'
So I add 'name=wmv, datatype=STRING, value=oracle.ifs.beans.parsers.ClassSelectionParser' to ParserLookupByFileExtension.
And then add 'name=wmv, datatype=STRING, value=EXTENDDOCUMENT' to IFS.PARSER.ObjectTypeLookupByFileExtension.
After done above actions, i restart my oracle application.
I use CUP to upload a test file 'test.wmv' to CMSDK repository, and its type is 'EXTENDDOCUMENT'.
But if I use FTP or WebStarterApp application to upload 'test.wmv' file to CMSDK repository, then its type is 'DOCUMENT'.
Why and how to change to make FTP and WebStarterApp application can upload *.wmv file's type as 'EXTENDDOCUMENT'?
anybody can help me?

"Alternatively you can use ServletContext#getMimeType() for this. It guesses the content type based on the mime mapping as it is been definied in the web.xml of the application server and the webapplication. If it returns null, then you need to add new <mime-mapping> entry to the web.xml."
I would try doing it this way. Try including entries for the mime mappings in the deployment descriptor of the web application. -
CD-Install and version based download protocol
I am trying to create a cd-install for an app. using the -import -codebase features
of javaws. This works as long as I do not have any version information within the
cd based jnlp and the resources.
If a specify a version with a resource (e.g. a jar) I get the following exception from
javaws:
java.io.FileNotFoundException: c:\cd\spirit_core_client.jar?version-id=0.4.5.0 (Die Syntax fr den Dateinamen, Verzeichnisnamen oder die Datentrgerbezeichnung ist falsch)

at com.sun.javaws.Launcher.handleLaunchFile(Unknown Source)

at java.lang.Thread.run(Unknown Source)
It seems that javaws tries to do a file request with a url query string for the version.
This will work with the JnlpDownloadServlet but not for a file request.
What do I have to do?
If I can not specify version information wouldnt that make the differential (JarDiff)
download impossible? Or can I than only use a timestamp (last-modified) based
download?I filed a bug ion this. The CD install is implemented by substituting codebases, if the new codebase dosn't implement the version based download protocol, import won't work. The file protocol used when importing from CD cannot implement this. There should be a simple convension to allow versioned requests from file protocols to assume the response-version is equal to the request version (assuming no wildcarding is uded in the request-version).

Usb vista to mac protocol problem
I'm running windows vista on a virtual machine( VirtualBox) mac snow leopard as a host. Also I'm running a program with chip FTDI

Any Ideas how to fix it?

How I resolved my Apple TV download speed problems
I have been experiencing download speed problems with my Apple TV2 for a while. The performance was so bad that I couldn't buy or rent movies from Apple TV, because it would take hours to even start the download. I wasn't sure if the problem was with my ISP (Comcast), the modem, or the wireless router.
I just logged in to my wireless router (Cisco Linksys E300) and changed the following two settings:
Network Mode = Wireless-N Only
Channel Width = 20 Mhz Only
After restarting my Apple TV2, movie streaming is now perfect. It took less than one minute to start the streaming of a recently purchased movie.
I recalled reading some time ago that a Network Mode which allows switching between B, G and N wireless modes can cause problems with streaming. Perhaps each time switching occurs, the Apple TV has to renegotiate with the iTunes Store. I'm not sure that the "Channel Width" setting is necessary or relevant, but since I'm happily streaming again, I don't really care.
I hope that this helps others resolve this problem.If you have home sharing enabled on the Apple TV and an IOS running on the same network you can use the remote app. Otherwise, you will need to purchase a new remote.

Tried bit alas did not help. It's too much of a coincidence that I got download then problem immediately after.Still think its Apples fault.Only about 4of every 10 e mails affected!!!!!
I'd suggest you follow up in the thread you started in regards to the problem rather than starting new topics:
https://discussions.apple.com/message/24982409#24982409
If you start a new topic part way through discussing an issue, people don't know what you're referring to. It's also consider impolite to post all in caps in Internet forums, as using caps is considered to be shouting.

Download file problem for binary data?
Dear All,
I have wrote a jsp file to do download page. I have used a piece of code from the JDC to this. This code will prompt the download dialog box each time user clicks the download button. The code itself will set the content type for different application. The code is like below:
try
java.io.File fileobj = new java.io.File(strFolder + strFile);
response.setContentType(application.getMimeType(fileobj.getName()));
response.setHeader("Content-Disposition","attachment; filename=\""
+ strFile + "\"");
java.io.FileInputStream in = new java.io.FileInputStream(fileobj);
int ch;
while ((ch = in.read()) != -1) {
out.write(ch);
out.flush();
in.close();
} catch(Exception e)
The code can download and handle text file correctly when it is openned in the text editor or inside the IE. But when a PDF file or Image is downloaded and openned in the PDF viewer or image viewer, it is corrupted and cannot be viewed. What is the problem? Any ideas?
So, I wonder this code can handle binary data or not. It is seen like there is no different code to handle text and binary data in Java/Jsp.
Thank you very much!
Best Regards,
Rockyu Lee

You may have to change 'inline' to 'attachment' if you do not want IE to inline the document.

Dynadock Extended Window Settings Problem
I am using a Dynadock PA3541U-2PRP and am having problems with the display settings attached to it.
For some reason anytime I restart or lock/unlock the desktop the screen goes from extended mode back to mirror mode. According to the manual I should be able to change the display settings using an icon in my system tray but for some reason that icon doesnt appear. I am using Vista ultimate 32-bit and have downloaded the latest dynadock drivers.
It is really a pain to have to go into the graphics settings to set the screen back to extended after every time i unlock my system.
Has anyone else found a solution for this?Hello karldergrosse,
you have to install the latest diplay drivers.
From this page you can download it: http://www.displaylink.com/support/downloads.html
Install them and make a restart.
After this the issue should be fixed.

OTA download provisioning problems
Hi!
I'm experiencing problems provisionig midlet OTA download.
I got IIS 5.0 and set up the mime types for .jad and .jar.
After exploring and selecting the link to the appropriate jad-file via WAP the download of the jad-file appears to be successfull. But after trying to download the jar file, the server's log is only reporting the http-response 406 [at the sc-status] (more info about 406: http://www.w3.org/Protocols/rfc2616/rfc2616-sec10.html) and no transmission is preformed.
The file could be downloaded directly by a normal browser (non wap! e.g. in win).
hmmm... anyone ideas?
I tryed to download with Siemens SL45.Not Acceptable (406) returned by the server because your WAP browser did not state that it recieved JAD. The header for a JAD file supprisingly did not have application/vnd.sun.j2me.app-descriptor
ALL_HTTP = HTTP_ACCEPT:unknown Media-Type, application/vnd.wap.wmlc, application/vnd.wap.wmlscriptc, application/vnd.wap.multipart.related, application/vnd.wap.multipart.mixed, application/vnd.wap.sic, application/vnd.wap.slc, application/vnd.wap.coc, image/vnd.wap.wbmp, text/x-vcalendar, text/x-vcard, text/plain, text/vnd.wap.wml, text/vnd.wap.si, text/vnd.wap.sl, text/vnd.wap.co, text/vnd.wap.wmlscript, multipart/related, multipart/mixed
HTTP_ACCEPT_LANGUAGE:en
HTTP_USER_AGENT:SIE-M50/14 UP.Browser/5.0.2.3.100 (GUI)
Currently I'm using IIS 4.0 and change the mime type to text/plain and guess what... it works.
However, if your using siemens M50 you might experiencing problem again later as the JAM request header somehow miss the comma between acceptable MIME Type (I haven't had a cure yet for this problem, not even with writing my own web server who ignore acceptable mime type)
JAM HTTP request:
HTTP_ACCEPT:application/java-archive application/java text/vnd.sun.j2me.app-descriptor (missing comma between Acceptable MIME type)
HTTP_ACCEPT_LANGUAGE:us_EN
HTTP_CONNECTION:Keep-Alive
HTTP_HOST:202.53.225.34:80

My download speed - Problem or just this slow?
Well I've always had bad download speeds, guessing because of my area and such, but they seem to have gotten worse lately. My max download speeds used to be around 120kb/sec but now I'm lucky if they even reach 60kb/sec ( not in peak times )
Now I'm not exactly networking savvy, but I did that BT speed test and the results are:
Download speedachieved during the test was - 413 Kbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speeds is 50-500 Kbps.
Additional Information:
Your DSL Connection Rate :1248 Kbps(DOWN-STREAM), 448 Kbps(UP-STREAM)
IP Profile for your line is - 500 Kbps
And this is what's in my gateway about my modem I guess:

Current DSL Connection:

Output Power:

VCXO Frequency Offset:

Final Receive Gain:

Is that around about right? Is there any other information I should disclose? Do I have a problem or am I just unfortunate enough to have these bad download speeds?
Solved!
Go to Solution.Because you accidently disconnected it, you'll need to remain connected for 3 -5 days (which shouldn't be long now) and allow the profile to rise, I dont think it will rise, but it may just nudge the system and may work...
Alternatively you could contact the mods, and ask for an SNR reset which should give your sync speed a boost and in turn give the system a kick up the backside and tell it to get its ass in gear . You can contact the mods using this link http://bt.custhelp.com/app/contact_email/c/4951 .
