Extending connect by clause in tree component

Hi guys,
I am afraid I know the answer to this one but I'll ask anyway.
The build-in tree component only lets you enter the basic sql-statement. It "handles" the connect by clause. Now that is all fine and dandy, but some of our connect by clauses are a little bit more complex. So I would like to add to the connect by clause and the start with clause.
Alternatively, allow us to write the complete sql-statement
Also there is no way now to utilise the 10g features.
I guess an enhancement request for Version 2 please?

Is there any equivalent command in SQL Server's T/SQL for the command :-
select parent, offspring from table_family start by offspring='child1' connect by parent=PRIOR offspring I had this problem some time ago. I don`t found an eqivalent on MS-SQL-server 7.0. So I wrote a T-SQL procedure wich calls itself recusively. ( I don`t have the souce-code any more ).
I don4t know if there is an equivalent on MS-SQL-server 2000.

  • Label display issue in Tree component when it is having vertical scrollbar

    I am using tree component as dropdown factory for combo box. When i open dropdown, it doesn't have vertical scrollbar and all the root nodes are getting displayed correctly(in closed mode). Now if i try to open any node, i am getting vertical scrollbar as the child nodes are more. Now the problem is if scroll down, some of the nodes(labels) are not getting displayed but i am able to see the icon. If i keep on scrolling bottom to top and top to bottom, some of the nodes are showing labels and some are not(It is inconsistant).
    I have not used any custom item renderer for tree control. I used my custom dataDescriptor which i have implemented from ITreeDataDescriptor. Also I tried extending DefalutDataDescriptor, but no luck.

    Does it work if the tree is not in a combobox?

  • Tree Component as swf

    I have a swf file that is a Tree Component... (So when it
    diplays it looks like a Directory structure with folders and files)
    Some nodes access url links... And some access .doc files on
    the network... This works fine when I run it from my local site,
    but when I run it on the remote site (Intranet server) the nodes
    that reference file paths so nothing, instead of opening the file,
    the url type links do work fine on the remote site.
    Any thoughts on why this might be occurring ? I am putting
    the swf and the associated xml file and html page on the remote
    site... Am I missing a file or setting on the server that I have
    locally? I am also including my .as file and xml file for review.
    Any help would be greatly appeciated.

    It is quite a pain in the rear to skin the AS2 components.
    And I don't know of many 3rd party components for AS2. I know of
    plenty AS3 3rd party components, but if you were using AS3
    components you wouldn't need a Tree to replicate the adobe video
    workshop type navigation, all you would need is the built in List
    component. If you can go sans icons, I would suggest using the AS2
    List to get the feel you're looking for.

    Those clauses are the means to do what you are asking. Why would you be looking for some other method?

  • Hierarchical Query - Connect By clause

    Hi
    I've written a query using the Connect By clause to generate the table data in Tree structure with the appropriate levels.
    But Data might not correct such that it may have data which loops around. Like Table1 is parent of Table 2 and Table 2 is parent of Table 3 and Table 3 is again Parent of Table 1. If such incorrect Data exists then I'm getting Oracle Error "ORA-01436: CONNECT BY loop in user data" which is correct.
    What I need is, whenever this error message is raised I need to give my own error message instead of this Oracle error in SQL statement. Please note, I'm not using any PLSQL block, I just have one SQL statement. Appreciate any help on this subject. Thanks.

    Hi,
    Outside of PL/SQL, I don't know of any way to substitute your own error messages for the ones Oracle provides.
    In Oracle 10 (and up), you can write a query using the CONNECT_BY_ISCYCLE pseudo-column. Using CONNECT BY NOCYCLE, the query will never actually raise the ORA-01436 error, but you can get it to display your message in cases where it would have, had you not been using CONNECT BY NOCYCLE.
    Here's how to do it:
    Put your real query, plus CONNECT_BY_ISCYCLE, in the WITH-clause.
    Get the MAX (CONNECT_BY_ISCYCLE) from that sub-query. Let's call this max_cbi.
    Do a UNION ALL of two prongs:
    (1) SELECTs everything (except, pehaps, CONNECT_BY_ISCYCLE) from the sub-query, WHERE max_cbi = 0
    (2) SELECTs your "error message" from dual, WHERE max_cbi = 1.

    Hi Begum,
    There are few default attributes you need to fill in your data structure,
    PARENT_KEY - Parent (in your ex : header1, header2)
    ROW_KEY -  Children (col1, col2, col3, col4...)
    EXPANDED
    IS_LEAF -
    TEXT
    CHILDREN_LOADED
    IMAGE_SRC
    Include these fields with same name in your structure(structure of the table filling CT_DATA in GET_DATA method)  and fill the relevant data, output will be displayed.
    Cheers,
    Vemula.

  • Open tree component in expanded state

    I have built a small framework to display demos -- and use an
    XML-driven tree component to provide access to demo segments and
    published files.
    I would like the TOC in the Tree component to open in
    expanded state, but am having no luck with myTree.setIsOpen.
    The tree connects to the XML OK -- I can expand/collapse,
    etc... and it all looks great. But I cannlt get the tree to open
    expanded.
    The code I'm trying to open the TOC expanded:
    this.demoTOC.setIsOpen(this.demoTOC.getTreeNodeAt(0), true);
    OR
    this.demoTOC.setIsOpen(this.demoTOC.getTreeNodeAt(0).getTreeNodeAt(0),
    true);
    The XML that's connected to the tree:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <toc>
    <demosection label="MY TITLE" >
    <demo ID="00demo.flv" label="title01" isBranch="true"
    />
    <demo ID="01demo.flv" label="title02" isBranch="true"
    />
    <demo ID="02demo.flv" label="title03" isBranch="true"
    />
    <demo ID="03demo.flv" label="title04" isBranch="true"
    />
    </demosection>
    </toc>
    If anyone can point out what I'm doing wrong, I am ready to
    learn.
    Thx.

    Never mind -- figured it out.
    It was a scoping issue -- calling the setIsOpen form inside
    the XML loader function.

  • Custom icon per entry in the AS2 Tree Component (using CS3)

    I have a tree component that loads its data from an XML file and I wonder if I can customize every entry to have its own icon by adding an icon attribute to every entry in the XML and giving the tree an action to read that icon (which would exist in the library of the Flash file). My goal is to reproduce a tree within an application that my company is developing (it's for a training tool related to that application).
    My XML says something like <node label = 'Label' heading = 'LABEL' desc = 'Description' icon = 'icon1' />
    My label is what the tree displays, the heading is what the information dialog in the training tool displays as a title bar, the desc is what the training tool displays within the body of the text for the function description and the icon is what I want to be a reference to the graphic in the library to place as an icon in front of the item rather than use setStyle with the properties for disclosure, leaf, and folder icons.
    Is that possible? I haven't found a solution for it yet.

    I've never used the Tree component, so I'm just guessing here....
    There is a slight delay before the xml file loads and your tree has its data provider.
    Perhaps during that time there is no node at mTree.getTreeNodeAt(0) to open? Try adding this just before the last line of your code:
    trace("the node is: "+mTree.getTreeNodeAt(0));
    What do you get?
    You might need to move that code inside the xml's load event handler.
    Another thing is that the Flash components tend to work on an invalidate-then-wait-one-frame-to-redraw kind of model. So it is possible you will need to wait one frame after the xml has loaded and then tell it to open that node.
    The doLater method might help with that.
    var home:MovieClip=this;
    var xmlTreeData:XML = new XML();
    xmlTreeData.onLoad = function() {
    mTree.dataProvider = this.firstChild;
    mTree.doLater(home,"delay");
    xmlTreeData.ignoreWhite = true;
    xmlTreeData.load("xml/treeValues1.xml");
    mTree.setStyle("fontSize","11");
    mTree.setStyle("selectionColor","0xE0E0E0");
    mTree.setStyle("useRollOver",false);

  • Layout issue with af:tree component

    I am using af:tree component but I am finding layout issue with it. I have a requirement where in I need the tree to stretch to the available space but a horizontal and a vertical scrollbar comes up automatically. Is there a way to handle this issue?

    User, without your jdev version it's hard to help.
    Have you embedded the tree component in a stretch layout?

  • [F8] Tree Component: How can I hide/remove the scrollbar and border?

    I'm using the Tree Component in my Flash 8 Pro - Project. I'm
    trying to customize the look of the Tree component in two ways:
    1. Is there any way to remove the scrollbar from the Tree
    Component?
    2. Can I also remove the Border from the Tree Component?
    I checked the Component Inspector and couldn't find any
    options for the scrollbar nor the border.
    Does anyone know how to do this or could you point me in the
    right direction?
    Thanks

    You can use the Status-4-Evar extension to replace some functionality that was lost withthe removal of the Status bar in Firefox 4.
    Open the Customize window via "View > Toolbars > Customize" or via "Firefox > Options > Toolbar Layout" after you have installed the Status-4-Evar extension and drag the items (Status Text, Progress Meter, Download Status) upon the Add-ons Bar (View > Toolbars > [X] Add-on Bar)

  • Officejet Pro 8600 won't connect to wireless with Wireless extender connected

    I am trying to get an Officejet Pro 8600 to connect to a wireless network, but it will not connect when my wireless network extender is connected. Once I disconnect the extender, it connects fine. Here is the setup. I have a Netgear wireless cable gateway CG3000D with a Amped Wireless Dual Band Router (R20000G) connected to the Netgear via ethernet cable. The Amped router is setup as a wireless extender, the Netgear and Amped share the same SSID. All my other devices work just fine connecting, laptops, cell phones, and IPads. When the Officejet 8600 tries to connect with the Amped connected, it tells me invalid password. Once I disconnect the Amped, the Officejet connects just fine. Any ideas how to get the Officejet to connect to the wireless with the Amped extender connected? Thanks

    Are you using the same passkey on the extended network? (It is best to)
    If so I would try using different SSIDs.  The printer will try to connect to the network with the better signal which might change depending on wireless interference.  There is no way to force the printer to connect to one network over another if the SSIDs are the same.
    One other possibility.  Is the passkey the same for both 2.4 and 5ghz on the Amped Dual Band router?  Most routers can be set up to have different passkeys for each band.  The printer is a 2.5ghz device and will need that password the same on both the Amped and Netgear routers.
    Please let me know your results.  Extending networks is becomming more common.  Understanding how to work with them will help everyone.

    Sometimes it takes several posts back and forth to get to a solution - please be patient.

  • Tree Component Icons

    I'm using the tree component for a little Windows Parody I'm making. In my .fla, There's a tree component that loads an external XML file.  I can't figure out how to add custom icons to my component, though.
    I know it's possible to set the icons for just the default folder and file icons, but since it's a Windows Parody, there'll be different icons for different file types, folder types, etc.
    In other words,  I'd like to have a different icon for every item in my Tree component.
    How can I do this?
    Here are the contents of my XML file:
    <node>
        <node label="Desktop">
    </node>
        <node label="Documents">
    <node label="Pictures" isBranch="true" />
    <node label="Movies" isBranch="true" />
    <node label="Games" isBranch="true" />
    <node label="Video" isBranch="true" />
    </node>
        <node label="Computer">
    <node label="Local Disk (C:)" isBranch="true" />
    <node label="Local Disk (D:)" isBranch="true" />
    <node label="DVD-RAM Drive (E:)" isBranch="true" />
    <node label="DVD/CD-RW Drive (F:)" isBranch="true" />
    </node>
    <node label="Readme.txt" isBranch="true" />
    </node>
    And the code on the first frame of my .fla file.  The Tree's name is "fileTree", and the XML file is "doors_explorerXML.xml".
    //Tree
    var fileDP:XML = new XML();
    fileDP.ignoreWhite = true;
    fileDP.load("doors_explorerXML.xml");
    fileDP.onLoad = function() {
        fileTree.dataProvider = this.firstChild;
    Also, I don't need to have an XML file loaded.  If there's an easy way that does it all within Flash, please tell me.  I just need to be able to handle events from the Tree.

    Im having the same issue. I dont know how to change the tree icons separately with the xml. Is there anyone who knows how to do it?
    This is what I got so far. However, i can only get my first branch to show custom icons. I tried ALOT, but i guess I´m doing something completely wrong.
    Here is the code for my tree so far:
    my_xml = new XML();
    my_xml.ignoreWhite = true;
    my_xml.load("tree.xml");
    my_xml.onLoad = function(){
    myTree.dataProvider = this.firstChild;
    var folders = my_xml.firstChild.firstChild;
    var docs = folders.childNodes;
    for (var i=0; i < docs.length; i++){
    currDoc = docs[i];
    trace(docs[i]);
    var docIcon = currDoc.attributes.pic;
    switch(docIcon){
    case "pdf":
    myTree.setIcon(currDoc, "pdfIcon");
    break;
    case "word":
    myTree.setIcon(currDoc, "wordIcon");
    break;
    case "excel":
    myTree.setIcon(currDoc, "excelIcon");
    break;
    case "ie":
    myTree.setIcon(currDoc, "ieIcon");
    break;
    }//switch
    } //for
    };//onLoad
    And here is the XML I used:
    <node label="» Dokument typer">
    <node label="» links - document">
    <node label="test.url" url="http://www." pic="ie" info="test text" />
    <node label="test.doc" url="test.doc" pic="word" info="test text" />
    <node label="test.excel" url="test.xls" pic="excel" info="test text" />
    <node label="test.pdf" url="test.pdf" pic="pdf" info="test text." />
    </node>
    <node label="» Links - document">
    <node label="test URL" url="http://www." pic="ie" info="test text." />
    <node label="test URL" url="http://www." pic="ie" info="test text." />
