Extendscript toolkit needs reinstallation after system restore

I installed extendscript toolkit (est) - but needed to do a system restore - now est is not installed, but my CC portal says it is - I need it, can't use it, what can I do?

Justfing please uninstall the affected Adobe application and reinstall.  System restores in general can cause all kinds of unexpected behavior.  It is best to only utilize a system restore prior to formatting and reinstalling your operating system.
If you continue to experience difficulties uninstalling the remains of your Adobe applications then please try utilizing the CC Cleaner Tool.  You can find the details of it's use at CC desktop lists applications as "Up to Date" when not installed - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/aam-lists-removed-apps-date.html.

  • After system restore i reinstalled firefox, how to get back bookmarks etc with old firefox data?

After system restore the only thing i have is old firefox data on desktop if all bookmarks, passwords are recovered it will be great help.
    P.S
i reinstall firefox from drive other than c ,that was in downloaded form.
    Thanks

The "Old Firefox Data" folder on the desktop has been created as the consequence of resetting Firefox.
Doing a Session Restore may have reverted the profiles.ini file to a previous version that hasn't registered the new profile folder that a reset had created, so you may need to check for this.
    * C:\Documents and Settings\<user>\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\<profile>\
The "Application Data" folder in XP/Win2K and the "AppData" folder in Windows Vista and Windows 7 and later versions are hidden folders.
If you have a profile folder that is more recent than the "Old Firefox Data" on the desktop then you can use edit the profiles.ini file and change the path of the currently default profile to the name of the profile folder as you find in Document and Settings.
    *http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox
It is always best to be cautious with using System Restore as this can cause some file to be replaced with older copies, i.e. your Firefox installation and profile folder can get inconsistent and you may have to reinstall Firefox as well.

right click infosource and 'change', click 'comm.structure'/expand,

how to recover hp pre-installed games and office after system restore for HP Mini 210-4127se?

    Hi,
You can reinstall them from Recovery Manager by clicking on Start=> All Programs.
If you have performed a complete HP Recovery using F11 then all the software should be there. If you have performed a minimized recovery then you can install applications from recovery manager...If none of these works then you'll need USB recovery..
Here are the links that will guide you through the process:
Using Recovery Manager to Restore Software and Drivers (Windows 7)

    Order USB Recovery
    Note:
If you have HP Support Assistant installed on the computer(The Blue Question Mark) then open it ==> Complete all pending Updates & Tuneups==> Restart and Check. It may solve your problem

  • ITunes doesn't work after reinstallation following system restore

My Toshiba Satellite P100 uses Windows XP SP2. I don't think my hardware is a real issue in this instance, but I can post it if others think it's pertinent.
I installed iTunes a couple weeks ago and things seemed to work pretty well. I began having issues with my computer freezing up (always when I was away from the computer, so I don't know why) and my fingerprint reader stopped working with Firefox, so I decided to try a System Restore. I set it to restore to December 10th, and both issues seem to have been resolved. However, since December 10th was before iTunes was installed, I had to reinstall iTunes. The installation seemed to work fine, but when I clicked finish with the box to launch iTunes afterwards checked, iTunes did not launch. I thought little of it, and just double-clicked the iTunes icon on my desktop. I got an error message like the following:
"iTunes has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
If you were in the middle of something, the information you were working on might be lost.
Please tell Microsoft about this problem

And then there are two buttons, "Send Error Report" and "Don't Send".
I've seen this kind of error message before when a program gets overloaded or something and has to shut down, but this pops up every time I try to open iTunes (either from the Program Files menu or from the Desktop) and I never even see the iTunes window before the error forces it to shut down. I have tried both rebooting my computer and reinstalling iTunes, but I am still having the same problem. I don't want to have to revert to my old system settings now that my machine is running better, so any advice on an alternative would be greatly appreciated.

I AM HAVING THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM!!! It happened when I upgraded to the newest version of itunes. I did a system restore to a date when everything was working fine and my itunes still did not work. I have tried to go back to an older version and do uninstall/install but the same thing keeps happening. If you figure it out let me know and I will do the same. Also, my quicktime seems to not be working normally.

  • Acrobat 6.0 will launch only after system restore or reinstallation - how do I fix?

I have Adobe Acrobat Standard 6.0 installed on my Dell Latitude D-610 computer.  When I attempt to launch the product, it will not open Adobe files, nor will the software open from the desktop.
However, after a system restore, or an uninstall and reinstall of the software, the Adobe works perfectly.  After the system is rebooted, however, the software will not work, that is, the software  works only until I reboot the computer.
Can anyone offer a suggestion for fixing this?

Normally a repair is recommended along with a full set of updates. You can download the updates from Adobe.com>downloads>updates>Acrobat Windows. In stall them in order.

I think a Windows System Restore should be OK but you could always de-activate first to be on the safe side.

  • ITunes dead after System Restore

I can no longer launch iTunes, and this has nothing to do with spyware.
    Sequence of Events:
    1) Last Thursday, I purchased a new track from itms (Iggy Pop - Candy - it's good, check it out).
    2) Upon trying to play the track, I was presented with the message that the computer was not authorized to play the track. Other songs I tried to play gave the same error. I had been perfectly content using iTunes 4.7. However, in order to play the tracks, I now needed to upgrade to the current version of iTunes. This was, imo, obnoxious, but I capitulated, and downloaded and installed v6.0.1.3. After installation, iTunes worked perfectly fine.
    3) Thursday evening I shut the computer down for the evening. I didn't use the system again until Sunday evening. When I powered the machine up, Windows booted to a black screen. Safe mode worked properly, but 'normal'-mode would not light the display (this is a laptop). Not knowing what was wrong yet, I tried using System Restore to return the system to a slightly earlier state. The most recent checkpoint was just before installing the iTunes update, so that's where I restored to.
    4) System Restore didn't fix the problem. That's when I discovered the switch on the laptop that senses whether or not the lid is closed was broken, and it was telling Windows the lid was closed, resulting in the darkened screen. (I've removed the switch while I wait for the replacement plastic piece I need, so that's no longer an issue.)
    5) System Restore did not have the option to undo the previous System Restore.
    6) I then re-installed iTunes 6.0.1.3. Each time I try to launch iTunes, I see the standard MS "Do you want to send the error info to Microsoft?" message box, and iTunes won't start.
To try and repair the problem, I've tried uninstalling iTunes and Quicktime repeatedly. I've tried System Restore, and then a reinstall, several times. I've been a Computer Tech since '94, and routinely remove spyware problems from people's computers in a professional capacity. I am certain my iTunes problem is not malware-related. However, just to cover all bases I went ahead and followed the Apple doc referenced repeatedly in these forums involving MSCONFIG to ensure my iTunes problem wasn't related to some startup issue. I've taken the iTunes folder, with the library.itl and .xml files, and moved it to the desktop prior to reinstalling iTunes. I've uninstalled, and then deleted the Program Files\iTunes and Program Files\iPod directories prior to reinstallation. I've disabled my antivirus during the install.
No matter what I've tried, iTunes will no longer start.
Anybody have any ideas what I can try next to revive iTunes on my PC. I very much don't want to lose my existing playlists, album art, and music files (especially the approx. $130 of purchased music), obviously.
    Thanks,
    Steve

    well done, NoahsMyBro!
hmmmm. some thoughts (speculation warning) on what might have gone wrong with the QT. a system restore "over top" of a fresh itunes install will strip out some installation registry entries from both QT and itunes. (under those circumstances, itunes won't launch, spitting out a "some of the required files ..." error message.)
under those circumstances, i usually recommend uninstall QT and itunes prior to the reinstall. (of course, you had other more pressing things to worry about at the time ...) i've been doing that because the QT component of the itunes installer bundle can be a little more delicate than the itunes component when it comes to installing "over top" of existing program files and folders. i think it's partly to do with the fact that it's the second install in the chained install (more can go wrong with it). so the QT may have been compromised on the reinstall, even though the itunes part of the install went through fine.
you don't tend to get the same QT install problems on a standalone QT install (again, speculation, but it seems plausible) because it's not the second install in a chain.

  • Can't activate after system restore and reinstall

I recently installed adobe acrobat pro on my laptop, everything was working perfectly until I faced another unrelated issue that meant I needed to perform a system restore to a point before I had installed adobe acrobat.
After the system restore obviously my registry had been rolled back quite a bit and so I needed to reinstall acrobat. After reinstallation (downloaded the installer from the acrobat site on my acrobat.com account and let it install the same as last time) when I launch acrobat I get an error that my acrobat subscription cannot be validated.
This is the only PC I have installed acrobat on so it doesn't seem to make sense, even if it considered this to be a new installation then it should at least activate as my second installation.
Any advice would be much appreciated.

I am not familiar with the limitations on the subscription set, but you may have to contact Adobe and explain the issue. It may be they have to reset your activation or whatever is done with the subscription. Typically when you start, you would be asked to provide your ID that you used to purchase Acrobat.

  • Unable to Load Windows After System Restore from BIOS freeze

I have a pavilion G6 that froze after a BIOS Update ran. Here's what happened and here is what I did:
Uninstalled HP printer software; upon reboot, BIOS Update appeared and ran.
Upon reboot, Win 7 froze @ Welcome screen.
I was instructed this am on this forum to press F8 and do a system restore, which I did.
This appeared to work until about 30 mins ago when it began freezing again and opening to Safe Mode screen.
    Now what??

    Hi
    Workaround:
There are few steps that has worked for few but not always..
Restart and tap F2.  F2  will show an option “BIOS Management” . Select BIOS Management and then select “Roll Over to the previous BIOS”
BIOS Management option will not be available if the system do not have HP_Tools partition installed or if it is deleted.
Fix if BIOS Management is not available
    i)                    Press and Hold the Windows Key and B key at the same time when the system is turned off or follow the steps from this link: Recovering the BIOS using key press combination
iii)                 Shutdown the Notebook. Remove the Hard Drive and then turn the computer ON and tap F10 to load BIOS. If it loads BIOS then it should rollback to previous BIOS or it might show a black screen. Just leave the system ON for about 2-3 mins and turn it on with the hard drive and check.
If none of the above worked then most likely we need to bench the notebook as system will not boot from recovery discs.
Let us know how it goes!

  • Start and Start apps don't work after System Restore

Hey guys, I tried to install Andy (Android emulator) on my PC today and I had to reboot after the setup was complete. This time when booting up, my computer froze before login screen. I've restarted the computer several times, but no login screen.
So I used System Restore to restore my system (refresh point is 2 days old) and voila, everything works like it should...
Except for Start menu, Cortana & search bar and notifications. Restarting explorer.exe didn't fix the problem. Even Start menu apps like Music or Store don't work... Only way to open the Settings app is to click on my network connection icon. Help please!
    I'm using build 9926

..............So I used System Restore to restore my system (refresh point is 2 days old)...............
It is possible that you are missing the updates that were installed in that 2 days. You rolled back 2 days, now you need to reinstall those updates.
If you cannot use Start Menu, please follow this instruction given by Insider Hub......
Checking for updates may fix this problem. To check for updates without the Start menu, do the following:
    Select the Internet Explorer icon.
Type http://update.microsoft.com into the address bar and select
    Enter.
If you are prompted to run a control, click
    Yes or Confirm
This should bring up the Check for updates window. Install updates.
If no update is available, or the available updates don’t fix the issue, restart the device–this should make the Start menu appear. To reboot without using the Start menu:
Hold down the Windows key and select L to lock the device. Swipe up or select
Enter to open the sign in screen. Select the
Power icon on the log in screen to restart the computer.
    OR
Hold down the Windows key and select R to bring up a command prompt. In the prompt, type
    shutdown –r to restart
    Good luck.

  • Audit Issue in QA after system restore and client copy

    Hi Experts,
We have an audit issue and need your advise on that.
Our QA system was audited and auditors were looking for the approval tickets on which a user was created. I found that several users that were not created in QA and do not even exist in QA have their change logs in QA showing that user was created.
I researched it and found the steps that Basis and DBA's do when creating a new QA client.
    1. Basis export user master and authorizations using SAP_USER profile from the target QA environment.
    2. Then DBA's restore the QA Environment from the Production Backup.
    3. Basis import back the preserved User master and roles using SAP_USER profile.
But when reading about this profile, I came to understand that change documents ( USH* ) tables are not exported and imported back. So that is why we have change logs in our QA from Production system.
So my question is how to solve this issue, where Auditors look at the change documents in QA and ask for the documentation though in reality these change documents are coming from Production. Should we ask for DBA team to truncate USH tables or is there a client copy profile that saves the change logs that we can export and import back.

    Hi,
as you know the USH* tables belong to delivery class L. The tables in this class are never copied during client copy but you don't do client copy. Idea of deleting records from L tables after backup restore does not sound good because you will loose all data. As a workaround you could backup content of tables with delivery class L, export users SAP_USER, restore production backup, import users and import backup for tables with delivery class L. There is around 5000 L tables in ECC. Another approach could be to restore production on different box and do proper client copy to QA system.
    Cheers

  • Help with Photoshop Elements 10 after system restore

Hi I need some help and guidance. I have successfully installed my Photoshop Elements 10 twice now; once on my own; and following a MS Vista System Restore; with the help of Adobe support . I then worked on it for a day and all was well.
But unbeknown to me at the time, I had a MS System corruption that was causing Boot issues resulting in a forced Restore of my system and both Restores caused the Photoshop elements desk-top shortcut to disappear and a subsequent PSE10 re-install to fail with the dreaded Data7 , and "Application Shared Technologies" and rollback of Orgainizer and Editor etc etc.
I now realise that the two events were connected and the Adobe Support Person helped me get PSE10 up and running but it involved a lot of file permission changes etc, which lost me in the process, which was done remotely. PS Great customer support!!
After sorting out my MS Vista problem due to "Corrupt System" files, I now need to get my PSE10 up and running again; but how?
    Regards John

Have you tried uninstalling and installing again?
    thanks.

  • Problems reinstalling after system restore.

Hey. I tried to address this with the Adobe helpdesk, but I couldn't get through the process. The system seems to be under the impression I don't own an adobe product.
Anyway, I've been having some problems recently with cs3. I bought it about one year ago, and after some initial snafus, it worked like a dream.
Recently, though, a virus got into my computer and I had to do a system restore. I set it up so that all of my programs and preferences would be left alone. After all of this was over, I tried to start cs3, and it wouldn't start. I just got the generic '(insert program name here) had encountered a problem and needs to close.'. I wasn't able to deactivate it as a result, and removed it from my computer. I put the disc back in, and it refused to install properly. The shared components were all that made it.
Is the problem that it wasn't deactivated? If so, how can I do that without the program itself?
    Help?

    >Sarah Modisette:Is the problem that it wasn't deactivated? If so, how can I do that without the program itself?
It doesn't sound like a decativation problem--more likely some module or the registry has been corrupted. Did you try the Photoshop CS3 clean script? You can get the script from Adobe. It can remove all traces of PS CS3 from your machine which should allow a re-install to complete successfully.
If you get it installed you may still need to go through Adobe Customer Support to get it activated. You are allowed two activated installations. If this is your only installation then the activation may proceed without problem. If it isn't the first then you will likely have to call ACS and let them know of the difficulties--Adobe Support is the only group that can help with activation issues.
    A valid serial number
should be all you need to get help with activation/installation issues from Adobe.
