I am on Windows XP. Updated to latest iTunes but it would not install. Tried again and the system hung. I did a restart and iTunes had completely vanished from my system. Tried to do a new install but it won't finalise. Can anyone offer any suggestions?
OK, lets do a complete overhaul to make sure it's working ok.
First to check your Windows system file for any corruption:
Go to command prompt (START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES right mouse click "command prompt" and choose "Run as Administrator"
type in
sfc /scannow
let Windows fix any system files that need to be repaired.
Restart the computer.
Start iTunes and see if it is ok.
If it doesn't, will have to go through the whole process of uninstalling and installing acccording to the following steps:
1. Go to Microsoft website to fix install and Unistall problems. Click "Run now" from Fix it to remove all iTunes & related installer files:

Be aware that Windows Installer CleanUp Utility will not remove the actual program from your computer. However, it will remove the installation files so that you can start the installation, upgrade, or uninstall over.
2. You should remove all instances of iTunes and the rest of the components listed below:
it may be necessary to remove all traces of iTunes, QuickTime, and related software components from your computer before reinstalling iTunes.
Use the Control Panel to uninstall iTunes and related software components in the following order:
iTunes
QuickTime
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support
Bonjour
Apple Application Support (iTunes 9 or later)

3. Reboot your computer. Next, download iTunes from here:http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ and install from scratch -

I am having problems downloading 2 purchased movies. Cars 2 & Toy Story. I had it on My iPad, then after a while the movies would not play. I went to the apple store and they deleted it and told me that all I need to do is download it again. I tried what they suggested at the apple store, but I am still not successful. It continues to tell me there is a download error. Please help! Need these movies for my 3 year old!User to user forum.

Can i get help on how I can successfully install the new google voice video chat software. I keep having an install error. My google voice phone always worked until a week ago when suddenly google would not let me call out from any browser until I installed their new google voice and video chat (made by vidyo) software. I was told by genius bar to install Yosemite, which I did. But that did not solve the problem. I removed macKeeper, as well, since a techie friend told me that could be the cause. Nothing so far has worked. When the problem first happened, it seemed to only happen in Chrome. Google voice calling out worked fine in safari, for about a day or so. Now I cannot call out from any browser. I can, however receive calls, and make calls within the video hangout.

Correct. When you did that, you voided all warranty/support, & forfeited the right to an out of warranty replacement.
There was nothing wrong with the screen I bought,
And, exactly, how do you know that? Since Apple DOES NOT sell iPhone parts, there is no official source for genuine parts. Thus, many on the market are counterfeit & produce nothing but problems.

My 2008 15" macbook pro would not start up. After pushing the power button, the startup tone sounded, but kept repeating as if something was jammed. Screen remained black with no logo nor messages. Pls help.
Now that you mentioned it, that might be the source of the problem. Something was definitely wrong with my graphics card before the incident happened. You mean that particular batch of graphics cards had some inherent issues, right? I went to the genius bar, and the 'genius' there, without trying to diagnose the problem properly, just adviced me to buy a new mbp! He said Apple will no longer try to fix or touch macs older than 5 yrs. Mine is 5.5 yrs old...

When I type my email address in the "To:" field, a random name comes up next to it as "Holidays in United States". This just started happening out of the blue and I have no idea why. Does anyone else have any idea?
Just to recap, this is a collection of ports I have collected over time for people who needed this information when setting up the HP ePrint app so that they could view their email from within the app. I am certain other applications also need this information. Although lengthy, I could not find a more comprehensive place to retrieve this information. Feel free to post additional information, faulty information, or other related topics below as this is simply a collection of data and it would be practically impossible to test all of them. I bought a Sandisk Connect Media Drive, downloaded the app from iTunes. Before iOS 8, movies played fine. After iOS upgrade I can no longer play movies downloaded from iTunes to the media drive. Anyone else have a similar issue?
I checked with SanDisk's own online support and they indicate that they have notified Apple of the issue.
According to SanDisk, the problem lies with Apple not having the iOS 8 version of the Safari browser having DRM decoding enabled that the Media Drive relies upon to decode and play iTunes DRM titles. Non DRM encoded videos will play in the browser.
DRM audio is not effected as this is handled by the native iOS music app.
As of the date of this post SanDisk have not been given a timeframe by Apple for this issue to be resolved.
I hope that Apple resolves this issue quickly as I have a large collection of DRM video titles on a 128Mb memory card installed in the Media Drive that I am unable to view. -
My CSS box doesn't seem to be pushing the text out of the way

I've just managed to get CSS boxes working on my site, and as
you'll see have applied them to the right hand side of a number of
pages and added links. I looked at the site locally and online last
night from my machine and everything seemed to be working as
expected.
However, I've just got to work and had a look at some of the
pages and the text box A - doesn't seem to have extended enough to
surround all of the linked text and B - doesn't seem to have pushed
the surrounding text out of the way enough so now there's a
horrible overlapping this going on.
As I have set the box's height properties to something like
150 (can't quite remem) I'm assuming this is what is causing A and
B? So, how do I then set the box's properties so that it will
shorten or lenghten depending on how much text I put inside it -
just leave the height property field blank?

Yes. The answer is to never set the height of a box which
contains text
(unless its for a scrolling area). Let the amount of text
within the box
determine the height. -
I have my a song purchased from Itunes and would like to use part of it for a ringtone and get all the way thur the process of getting it to my phone but it goes to sync to my phone it doesn't show up in my phone like it says it is suppose to under ringtones. I updated my LG G3 this week and now it SUCKS! When I'm connected to WIFI, nothing on Facebook works. The photos and videos won't populate. I have to turn off the WIFI and only use the mobile data. Did the iOS device connect before?
Try the following to rule out a software problem:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Power off and then back on your router
.- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
- iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
- Wi-Fi: Unable to connect to an 802.11n Wi-Fi network
- iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
- Restore from backup. See:

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem and it does not connect to any networks make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.
