Extra information type DFF getting erored

Hi
When I am trying to compile the predefined Extra information type DFF it is getting errored out saying
"The descriptive flexfield "Extra Person Information" of application "Human Resources" uses features which are only supported in Oracle Forms. This flexfield may not function in other environments such as OA Framework or PL/SQL APIs.
The number of warning messages: 1.
The context field uses reference field "INFORMATION_TYPE".
BLOCK.FIELD references are only supported in Oracle Forms."
When I try to verify the same in the Metalink it is suggesting me for some patch. buti am not ok with applying patch without know reason or work around to solve this issue
If anyone knows please do let me know

  • How to get extra information in server response "250 OK extra info here "

    Hello all,
    I am using javamail to send e-mail messages via an SMTP server that responds in the following way when I finish sending my DATA:
    250 OK <extra information here>
    How can I get the <extra information here> text using javamail?
    I am using javamail version 1.4.3. The messages are sent using Transport.send(mime message, recipients[]).
    Thank you very much for your help.
    Best regards,
    António

    You'll need to manage the Transport object yourself (see the FAQ for examples,
    or the smtpsend.java demo program), then use the SMTPTransport.getLastServerResponse()
    method (see the javadocs and the demo program).

  • Segment Name with extra information in WE02.

    Hello SAPients!
    I created an IDoc Extension for basic type WBBDLD04 and modified the corresponding BAdI. Everything works fine, the extra segment is correctly added and the information in the Segment is correct. The only problem I have is that in TCode WE02/WE05 the name of the segment appears with information of the first field.
    Example: The segment is ZE1WBB1 but in the tree of the Tcode WE02 appears like <b>ZE1WBB1 1024.00</b> or sometimes like <b>ZE1WBB1 0.00</b>. That extra information corresponds to the first field of the custom segment that I created (<b>LABST</b> in this case)
    If I look in the table EDID4 everything looks perfect. The segment name is what it should be and the SDATA field has the correct information.
    What am I doing wrong?
    Thanks!

    I found the problem, in WE31 I just had to remove the "Qualified Segment" Checkbox and Voila!

  • Can I add extra information into logon ticket

    hi everyone:
    When I logon sap portal, the CreateTicketLogon Module will generate logon tickets.there are serveral information in the logon ticket MYSAPSSO2 cookie including SID,UserId,Login timestamp.
    My question is how can I add extra information into logon tickets. for example, I want to add more user's information like email address into logon ticket and pass to the SSO system.
    Thanks
    Elliott

    Hi,
    As far as I know there is no way of adding extra attributes to the SAP logon ticket. The logon ticket allows you to have two user names in it , so maybe if you setup a reference system and store the emailaddress as the username you can use this as a workaround.
    If you need to get the logon ticket form EP you can either
    1. Read the cookie MYSAPSSO2 from the IPortalComponentRequest
    2. Get the user from IPortalComponentRequest and call getTransientAttribute("MYSAPSSO2_STRING") (not 100% certain of the last one , will have to look it up. Of course not a public api)

  • Can't add Information type to topic

    I have a trial copy of RoboHelp7 and have created a Microsoft
    HTML Help project.
    I've created three information types and three categories.
    According to the help, I should select a topic from the topic list
    and click Properties and then click the Information Types tab to
    assign an Information type. My topic properties does not have as
    Information Types tab.

    Hi again
    I'm researching a user requirement
    Let me guess. Your requirements ask to create a help system
    based on the types of users. Roles, if you will. The goal is to
    filter information from those that should not have it and make it
    available only to those deemed worthy or educated enough to handle
    it or whatever. Am I correct so far? If so, Information types never
    did accomplish that. As I said, it was an unfinished feature that
    Microsoft began to implement in the HTML Help world.
    This isn't to say that what I mentioned can't be
    accomplished. It can and I've seen it done personally by using
    WebHelp and applying security to folders. It can also be done using
    .CHM files and controlling who gets which .CHM files.
    Thoughts?
    Sure. I'd abandon even entertaining the thought of using
    Information Types. Trust me, they aren't worth it. And as for the
    tab missing from the Topic Properties dialog, wow. I just checked
    my X5 version of RoboHelp. That version is pretty old now and even
    it doesn't have the tab. So the fact the help doesn't match the
    application goes back a lot further than Adobe. I'm guessing at
    least Macromedia and probably eHelp!

  • Extending SSHR Special Information Types validation

    Hi,
    I have a requirement to validate new entry or update on specific type of SIT after clicking Apply button.
    Other than validating values, i also required to set specific attribute value based on user input
    The problem occurs cos I can't find where they put the inputted value in the ViewObject, except from oapagecontext.getParameter("HrKeyFlex1").
    The navigations are Employee Self Service -> Special Information Types -> Click Add on one detail table. when examined, it show values from a Key FlexField (KFF) and (if rendered) Desc FlexField (DFF).
    Based on "About this Page" information, the KFF and DFF stored in SpecialInformationUpdateVO, but there is only a set of Attribute1 to Attribute20 which hold values for DFF, where are field Segment1 to Segment20 which hold values for KFF ??

    Hi,
    thanks for replying,
    I'm afraid I don't understand the solution you gave since I'm still a newbie, only a week ago assigned to learn extending OA Framework.
    I only can find corresponding VO which is
    oracle.apps.per.selfservice.specialinformation.server.SpecialInformationUpdateVO.xml
    oracle.apps.per.selfservice.specialinformation.server.SpecialInformationUpdateVORowImpl.class
    oracle.apps.per.selfservice.specialinformation.server.SpecialInformationUpdateVOImpl.class
    So far I come with a work around to validate each field individually, but this method can't set or change user inputted value
    Step I've done :
    1. extend oracle.apps.per.selfservice.specialinformation.webui.SitUpdateCO controller class to at.oracle.apps.per.selfservice.specialinformation.webui.ATSITUpdateCO
    2. Override processFormRequest method, retrieve values from form request parameter
    String cost_center = (String) oapagecontext.getParameter("HrSitKeyFlex2");
    String nature = (String) oapagecontext.getParameter("HrSitKeyFlex3");
    String activity = (String) oapagecontext.getParameter("HrSitKeyFlex4");
    String item = (String) oapagecontext.getParameter("HrSitKeyFlex1");
    String unit_price = (String) oapagecontext.getParameter("HrSitKeyFlex12");
    make a call to PL/SQL stored procedure to validate these values, if the result is error, then raise an OAException
    3. personalize the page so it will use extended controller
    I need to set Segment7 (HrSitKeyFlex7) which hold total_price
    to HrSitKeyFlex1 * HrSitKeyFlex12
    Could you give further explanation on :
    1. find corresponding (KFF) classes, looking at the SpecialInformationAM, no VO or AM query fields from hr.per_analysis_criteria table
    2. what is VRule KFF bean ? and how to add
    3. Cross Validation Rules to KFF metadata (do you mean TABLE with metadata ?, am i suppose to create a trigger on insert ?)

  • I am new to OAF,I got a requirement to hide the Extra Information region

    Hi OAF Champs,
    I got a requirement to hide the Extra information Region from /oracle/apps/per/selfservice/extrainfotype/webui/EitPG page.
    Client want to implement free text feild for capuring extra assignment information.
    on this page by defaoult to DFF are activated , bank information DFF and Cost Allocation DFF.
    please let me know how to hide Cost Allocation DFF.
    If i hide the extra information region using personalization then its hiding both the Dffs but I have to hide only one Cost Allocation DFF.
    Thanks in advance.
    --Regards
    Priya

    Hi Priya,
    If its a DFF on the page then, you can try the following code.
    OADescriptiveFlexBean lovBean = (OADescriptiveFlexBean)oawebbean.findChildRecursive("DFF name");
    if(lovBean != null){
    lovBean.processFlex(oapagecontext);
    OAPageLayoutBean page = oapagecontext.getPageLayoutBean();
              OAMessageLovInputBean businessUnit = (OAMessageLovInputBean)page.findChildRecursive( "DFFIntF2" );
    if (businessUnit != null ) {
    businessUnit.setRendered(false);
    Let me know if you face any issues

  • Attaching Extra Information for on Hold process and starting the process

    Hi,
    We are developing BPM process using Oracle BPM 10.3.
    Our want the process to be on hold to get extra information from some other system. The extra information will be recieved sepeartely oust side the BPM process. We want to add the extra information to the on hold process and continue the process. Please let me know how to develop the BPM process to cater this requirement.
    Thanks

    The right pattern would be to create a process that has something like the following flow pattern:
    Begin -> ... (Some Activities) -> Wait
    The Wait Activity can be defined to have arguments that the external application can use to send the additional information to aggregate with the existing instance data.
    The way for an external application to connect to the instance waiting in the WAIT activity is to use the processId that is returned when you programmatically create the instance through any of the available APIs: PAPI (Java), PAPI-WS (Soap) or the process exposed as a web service. It is also possible to use correlations but this can be considered a more advanced topic.
    In the same lines there are methods in PAPI and PAPI-WS or a process exposed as a Web Service to create an instance, there are methods to send a notification to a given instance in a given activity of the process. Using this API Calls, you can signal the instance in wait state and send some additional information so that when the Wait activity is executed, the instance is moved forward.

  • Information types - how to use?

    Please excuse this basic question, I attempted to use the forum search but found nothing related..
    I am not able to figure out how to use information types. I prefer to blame it on the bad translation of the online help rather than my own ignorance : )
    Can anyone give me a hint on weather this feature works at all, and if so, how to apply? Even if I create categories and ITs over the Edit menu and assign them to TOC entries over the propierties, they do not appear to work in the CHM output. According to the help there should be a function accessible over a right-click on the TOC of the help but there is none.
    Actually I admit that I do not understand the whole concept of ITs well. I assume they enable end user to filter the content of the online help..?

    Hi all
    Did I hear someone call my name? Oh, yes! So THAT explains the buzzing in my mostly deaf left ear. LOL
    Indeed Peter is spot on. Information Types are a feature that was half baked. They only apply to .CHM output. So if you are into WebHelp, FlashHelp, JavaHelp, OracleHelp, AIRHelp or HelpMeIfYouCanHelp, you are out of luck.
    Okay, with that out of the way, let's assume that maybe you are doing HTML Help. In that case, assuming you get them configured, your end user needs to become aware that you have added an Information Types capability to the help because there is nothing that having them adds to your help that is immediately obvious to them. Actually, I think the ONLY thing that is different happens when they choose the Right-Click the Table of Contents. And that leads me to another point. Assuming you have managed to get them up and running, and further assuming your end user is aware of the IT possiblity, they ONLY apply to the Table of Contents and how it presents to the end user!
    Given all the "assumptions" that must be covered, for my money Information Types offer a huge negative ROI. Your time is better spent on other things. Perhaps put more help development effort into something that will provide a handsome payoff. Such as a better index!
    Cheers and happy Tuesday from the Midwest in the US. Where we are snuggled in and waiting with bated breath for a big bad ole nasty winter storm.
    Sincerely... Rick

  • Statistical condition types not getting displayed in invoice

    We  have configured the tax collected at source (TCS) condition types and make them as statistical in the pricing procedure. Now, the issue is when we are using them the values for these condition types are getting calculated correctly as the total value is correct but in the invoice their individual values are not getting displayed.
    In the analysis also we can see that the condition records are found but being statistical condition they should get displayed in the invoice as only the correct total value will not serve the purpose, please help
    Thanks & regards
    Puneet Agrawal

    Hi
    Keep a break-point (hard) in these program lines and debug and see that whether the condition type(KSCHL) related to Taxes is appearing here or not.
    If the condition type for taxes is coming then you can print the taxes.
    First check the related condition type for Taxes in T685 table and see here in the code.
