Extract Signature properties

I need to extract the properties of the signature in a form. My companies signature has the email address within it as well as the certified lastname and first name.
Is there a way to copy the contents of that property to another field or to memory? My intent is that when the person signs and submits the document, I can automatically extract that information to a spreadsheet?
If the information is already contained in the signature, I didn't want the user to enter it again.
Thanks in advance,
John

You can do this, but it would require you create a plug-in in C/C++.

  • Can you redo or undo your signature properties once its' created?

Ok, I am currently filling out a form for an important business convention in a couple of weeks. The first problem occurred when the fill and sign property would not let me sign like I normally do. So it gave me the option of creating a signature. So I chose that option; but once it was done, I saw how my signature appeared on the form and tried to adjust and change it. It would not let me because of the signature properties and validation certificate. So now I'm like I can't turn this in to my supervisor with the signature? My PC is operating Windows 7; I've never had any trouble out of it. I just want to know if you create a signature can it's certificate be revoked or undone or something?

Test Screen Name is right. Signature appearance (what you see in PDF file in the place where signature was applied) is a part of the signed content and cannot be changed after the signature is created.
As to your question "[when] you create a signature can it's certificate be revoked or undone or something?", the signature appearance is not related to the certificate that you used to create the signature. Those are two separate things. Certificate is used to create a signature. Signature appearance shows some image/info in the place where signature was applied. You can create custom signature appearance in Acrobat but you need to do that before you sign using this appearance.
Whether a certificate can be revoked, it depends on the type of the certificate. If you created a certificate yourself, so-called "self-signed" certificate, then there is no mechanism for its revocation. If you procured it from a reputable CA (Certificate Authority) then CA has a revocation mechanism. The question is why would you want to revoke your certificate? Usually you do that when someone got hold of your certificate and you do not want someone else to sign documents pretending that they are you. Certificate revocation has no relation to signature appearance.

  • Signature properties -- Bad parameter

    Hi,
I have a strange problem. I wrote a plugin with Acrobat SDK 6.0 for Adobe Acrobat and Adobe Reader which signs and verifies PDF documents. I have a problem with a certain signature. I can't view the signature properties. Acrobat says "Acrobat error. Bad parameter.". I change the signature handler to "Adobe Default Security" verify the PDF document, change the signature handler back to my plugin and verify again. Then the signature properties are shown.
Is it a problem that the document is PDF version 1.2?
    I have no idea!
    Thanks, for every help!
    Christian Wiesbauer

    Thanks for your reply!
Ok! Version 1.2 does not support digital signatures! But why does Acrobat verifies the document correctly and doesn't say "incorrect version" or something like that.
I created this document by conversing a version 1.5 to version 1.2 by an external application!
    Best regards,

  • Can I use the default "signature properties dialog" in DigSig layer?

    Hello
I am writing a plug-in about digital signature with the DigSig Layer. I need a  "signature properties dialog" to display info after I verified the signature.
    Now my questions :
Can I use the default "signature properties dialog" in DigSig layer, just like PubSec's default "signature properties dialog" ?
If I want to implement my  own "signature properties dialog", what should I do ?
    thanks.

    Thank you so much~
Actually, it's only an applet for test. I cannot get the error code if I new the KeyPair in install function or Applet construct function. It will return "6A 80" when install the applet.
And, I found that it support few algorithm. For example, it does not support ALG_DES_MAC4_ISO9797_M2,etc. Is there anything I can do if I want to use the algorithm? Shall I rewrite security package by myself?
5555, security package is the standard package in JAVACARD API 2.1.1.

  • Extracting "File Properties" metadata

After processing scanned images in Photoshop CS3, I am uploading them to a DAM solution that has the capability to extract embedded metadata using custom defined keys. I would like to know the syntax/structure of embedded metadata labels that display in the "File Properties" template of Bridge CS3 (e.g. File Size, Dimensions, Color Space) so that I can extract that metadata.
    Thank you!

In Preferences>Metadata there are two choices for dimensions - inches and cm, check the box for your poison.

I have this printer and use Leopard, but I don't have this problem I am useing the 6.2 driver. There are two drivers on their website, I am using only the driver that came with the machine. I would re-install the driver. Secondly and this caught me up a bit at first. You open the CS print manager, press print and then the Epson driver emerges, there i s no direct access from CS3 to the driver. Secondly in the Epson driver there are two or three set of drop down menus, the one that permits setting the paper profile is not exactly where you expect it, just have a look through all the menus(I am not sitting in fronto of my mac right now so I am of limited help). Good luck.

  • Digital signature properties field name via javascript

I am creating secure digital signature fields with random number names with similar prefixes.  The idea is to have multiple fields available in a single regular PDF (non portfolio).  So on each sheet we sign 3 fields.  One field is a name, another is a date and the last is a release.  This goes on every sheet and the PDF would contain up to 1500 pages.  Adding a random number to the end of each field name was the only way to make this work....now I have a problem of finding the particular fields for my script to sign the sheets.
I am guessing that there must be some way to identify how many fields I have on a sheet and return the name of all the fields.  If I can get the name of all the fields I can use that info to run my script to place the digital signature appearances in their correct field.  My field names all begin with either 'Date', 'Sig' or 'RFC' followed by a random number to avoid duplicate fields.
So in a nut shell, how can I find the names of the fields via JavaScript?
    Thanks you!

Are you able to add another prefix, specifically using hierarchical field names that include the page number? For example, on page one the fields could be named:
    P1.Date[random number goes here]
    P1.Sig[random number goes here]
    P1.RFC[random number goes here]
You can then get all of the P1 fields like this:
    var fields = getField("P1");
and then use the getArray method to get an array of the individual field references and iterate through the array.
Otherwise, you can loop through the fields and look at the page property of each to determine which ones are on which pages. You can use the getNthFieldName document method and numFields document property to do this.

  • Properties of the Signature Field

How can I extract certain properties of the Signature Field?
Basically I want to extract the name of the Signator in order to assign rights. I also have a "Approved Name" Field that the user fills out and I feel I can eliminate that field and ensure accuracy.
    Any Advice?

Take a look at the SignatureInfo object in the Acrobat JavaScript reference. You can get a SignatureInfo object in a Designer form using script like the following.
    var acroSOM = SigField.somExpression.substr(15, SigField.somExpression.length - 1);
    var acroField = event.target.getField(acroSOM);
    var sigInfo = acroField.signatureinfo();

  • Extracting the date value from digital signature/certificate

    Hello,
I'd like to extract the date from the signature properties and copy the value over to the date field as shown in snapshot.
I am aware that we can change the appearance of the digital signature to make the date visible but in most case, it is too small to read on hardcopies.
We resort by manually typing in the date, zooming into PDF to read visible date (if any) associated with signature image, to click on the signature image to open the Signature Properties dialog, or to open the Signatures tab window docked to the left.
Manual typing in the date expose us to discrepancy problem when the PDF was created vs. the actual date the PDF was signed (date value associated with digital signature/certificate). For example, person A created a PDF with date typed in and then sent that file over to person B (approving the document), who may digitally sign it a few days later.
    Hope I am making sense.
    Regards,
    Devin
Note: I have originally posted my question in other thread at http://forums.adobe.com/message/3296355

You can get the data and other signature properties using the  signatureInfo field method: http://livedocs.adobe.com/acrobat_sdk/9.1/Acrobat9_1_HTMLHelp/JS_API_AcroJS.88.756.html
But for you application you really should be setting the date field before the signature is applied, since changing it afterwards would invalidate the signature. You can execute a script that sets the valud of the data field with the current date using the "Signaute Signed" event, which you'll see as one of the tabs of the signature field properties dialog.

  • How extract properties from document saved in blob.

I need extract all document properties from document (any file type) saved in blob.
    I've tried three ways...
    - I've tried using relational ORDDoc.getProperties() by example. But this method returned exception ORDSYS.ORDDOCEXCEPTIONS.DOC_PLUGIN_EXCEPTION for every blob.
    - I can extract some properties with ctxhx.exe and key Meta. But this method is very expensive: I have to 1)save blob to file, 2)convert binary file to html-file, and 3)extract properties from html <meta> and <title> tags.
    - I can extract all properties with COM Automation. But this way need to install a lot of applications for every document type. It's impossible.
Has anybody did same task yearly? Help me oracle guru!

ORDDOc getproperties will attempt to see if the media is a video, audio or image and set the appropriate properties.
I am gussing you have a word style document or something like that?
Can you tell me about your application adn what you are trying to do?
