Extractors for Result Database of TRM-MRA or TRM-PA

Hi guys
We are thinking about developing some BI reports based on result database (RDB) of SAP TRM-PA (Portfolio Analyzer) and TRM-MRA (Market Risk Analyzer).
I couldn't find any information about extractors (or BI content) and would really appreciate it if someone let me know whether there were any.
Thanks advance.
Konstantin.

  • Installation error message for Oracle Database software for version 10g

    Would someone be able to advise why I keep getting the following error message whilst installing Oracle trial Database software for version 10g Release 2 Standard Edition, Standard Edition One, and Enterprise Edition? Link listed below : -
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/database/oracle10g/index.html
    Error message "Cannot create directory"C:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_7\cfgtoollogs\dbca\projemp"
    Below is the 12 steps that I go through, please advise what I'm doing wrong : -
    1. (Operations) default is Create a database
    2. (Database templetes) default is general purpose
    3. (Database Identification) projemp.local for Global database name & projemp for SID
    4. (Management options) default is "Configure the database with Enterprise manager, also the options button has been clicked for "Use database control for database management"
    5. (Database Credentials) the options button has been clicked for "Use the same password for all accounts" so I've set up a new password, was that correct?
    6. (Storage options) the options button is clicked for "File System - use the file system for database storage.
    7. (Database file locations) the options button is clicked for "Use database file locations for template" Is this option correct? Other options are Use common location for all database files or use Oracle-managed files?
    8. (Recovery configuration) the options button is clicked for "Specify flash recovery area
    9. (Database content) nothing has been selected, the only option is "Sample schemas" should that be clicked?
    10. (Initialization parameters) the options button is clicked for "Typical- allocate memory as a % of the total physical memory
    11. (Database storage) no options available
    12. (Creation options) the options button has been selected for "Create Database"
    Click finish
    I then get a screen stating General purpose, click OK then I get the following error message as stated at the start of this e-mail ""Cannot create directory"C:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_7\cfgtoollogs\dbca\projemp".

    I have been trying to install the "Oracle Database software for version 10g Release 2 Standard Edition, Standard Edition One, and Enterprise Edition" about six times with no success.Do you realize you just mentioned 3 different and distinct products? So which one are you installing?
    >
    I've gone through my courses instructions as listed above (1-12) and end up with the following error message"C:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_7\cfgtoollogs\dbca\projemp".What course?
    >
    I've removed the software from my computer using control panel, programs & features then uninstall once but the other five times the software hasn't been listed. Whilst the Oracle was on my task bar I was able to install using Start > Programs > Oracle - HOME-NAME > Database Administration > Database Configuration Assistant.No you didn't. Database Configuration Assistant does not remove software. It can remove a database. As I mentioned before, there is a difference between the software and the objects that software manages. Deleting an Excel spreadsheet is not the same as deleting Microsoft Office. Deleting an Oracle database with Database configuration assistant is not the same as removing the Oracle software.
    >
    Now that oracle is not on my task bar I've unzipped the link below, clicked on db, Disk1, setup, changed the Database password (is that correct?) install and I get the following error message "Check complete. The overall result of this check is: Failed<<<<<
    Problem: The install has detected that the primary IP address of the system is DHCP-assigned.
    Recommendation: Oracle supports installations on systems with DHCP-assigned IP addresses;
    However, before you can do this, you must configure the Microsoft LoopBack Adaptor to be the primary network adapter on the system. See the installation Guide for more details on installing the software on systems configured with DHCP."
    So what did you do with the above error message? Did you follow up on what it said? Did you read the very fine Installation Guide that comes with the software? Did you read the section on networking considerations where it discussed DHCP assigned addresses and installing the loopback adapter?
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/database/oracle10g/index.html
    Ok, that link takes us to the download page, which does not shed any light at all on your problems
    I'm using Windows Vista Home Premium, 32 bit operating system, and my computer is saying I have 142 GB free space.
    If you read the installation manual that came with the downloaded software, you'd have seen in the prerequisites that Home editions of Windows are NOT listed as supported platforms, whereas Business, Enterprise, and Ultimate editions specifically ARE listed as supportd.
    Hope this is some help.And
    I'm not to clever on computers so would you be able to advise how I get to the command window to issue the SET command please?
    Also I've no idea what OS user I am, I'm taking an on-line Oracle course and been advised to install "Oracle Database software for version 10g Release 2 Standard Edition, Standard Edition One, and Enterprise Edition"
    How do I find out if I'm part of an Administrator, ORA_DBA group ?
    Can you walk me through how to create the directory from command line please?Ok, given the above statements from you, I'm not even sure where to begin. I don't want to be cruel, but this self-admitted lack of even the most rudimentary knowledge by someone attempting to learn about Oracle is truly astounding. What course are you taking? Why are you taking this course?

  • The operation is not allowed for result set type FORWARD_ONLY

    Hi,
    I am trying to use scroll insensitive resultset in following manner-
    Statement stmt = con.createStatement(ResultSet.TYPE_SCROLL_SENSITIVE, ResultSet.CONCUR_READ_ONLY);
    ResultSet rs = stmt.executeQuery("some sql here");
    rs.last();
    but the rs.last() throws this exception-
    com.sap.dbtech.jdbc.exceptions.SQLExceptionSapDB: The operation is not allowed for result set type FORWARD_ONLY.
         at com.sap.dbtech.jdbc.ResultSetSapDB.assertNotForwardOnly(ResultSetSapDB.java:2725)

    Driver Version: MaxDB JDBC Driver, MySQL MaxDB, 7.6.0    Build 030-000-005-567
    This used to work with 7.5 version driver. Why this is failing with 7.6 driver, any clues?
    Thanks,
    Vinod

    Hi Vinod,
    due to performance improvement when using forward only cursor we changed the default for the resultset type from TYPE_SCROLL_SENSITIVE to TYPE_FORWARD_ONLY starting with JDBC driver version 7.6. So I guess the exception comes from a statement where you didn't set the resultset type while creating it. Please check if all of the statements that you want to be scrollable have set the correct resultset type.

  • How to add a 2D result array to the result database?

    I am using Teststand 3.5 and I am about to create a Labview VI that will measure the gain response of a receiver. This VI will output it as an 2D-Array and I would like to save it to my access result database, to be able to use that data for displaying a graph in my excel report.
    I am new to teststand and I already know how to add a 2D-array to a report but don't really know how to add this information to the database. I read the provided manuals and searched the forums but didn't find anything that was really helpful. AFAIK I can add numerics and strings to the database just by adding a string value or numeric limit test but when it comes to arrays (especially 2D), I have no idea how to do that. I only know (or guess) that I have to add a new  table to my database, edit the schema and the Database.seq.
    I appreciate any help!
    Stephan

    Stephan,
    Sometimes forum posts make you research a particular functionality of TestStand and lead you to discover how powerfull TestStand can be.  This is one of these cases.  I thought that in order to save 2D arrays in TestStand we would have to customize many different aspects of the application only to learn that the functionality is fully implemented already!
    First, you will have to create a new step type that contains a 2D array in the Step.Result properties.
    Second, in order to save a 2D array into a database, use the Binary Column Type in your table.  To do this, create a new table with the following properties:
    Type: Recordset
    Command text: "SELECT * from [Table Name]"
    Apply to: Step Result
    Types to Log: [Step type with which you are acquiring your 2D array]
    Lock Type: Optimistic
    The rest of the properties can be left with their default values.  Once you have your table, add an ID column as your primary key, and a second column that will contain the 2D array.  This column should have the following properties:
    Type: Binary
    Size: 1.5 times the size of your array in bytes
    Expected Properties: Logging.StepResult.[Property Containing the Array]
    Expression: Logging.StepResult.[Property Containing the Array]
    The rest of the properties can be left with their default values.  In order to see the values stored in the database, open the Database Viewer to the particular table and right click on the field which will show a value of "Binary Data".  Right click on the value and select Evaluate Data.  The View Binary Data window will let you see all the values stored in the array.

  • URL parameters for a Database Source in SES

    Can anyone provide us a valid url format for creating a Database Source in SES? I have followed the SES Admin documentation, and have tried a variety of options, but am not getting the results I desire.
    I have set up a view to my database table using the following syntax:
    create or replace view test_tablename2 AS
    SELECT 'docserver?docid=' || id URL,
    id KEY,
    'en' LANG,
    POSTDATE LASTMODIFIEDDATE,
    DOCUMENT CONTENT,
    'text/html' CONTENTTYPE,
    SUBJECT TITLE
    FROM tablename2;
    I also set up the Database Source in SES with the following parameters:
    Database Connection String: jdbc:oracle:thin:@IP Address: 1521: MAINDB
    URL Prefix: http://<SES computername.domain>: port/
    (I can't include the IP address, tablename, or machine names in this forum because they are classified).
    So, it crawls fine and gives me the expected number of documents found. And, when I search the source, I get a list of results. But, when I click on the link to the document, I get a 404 Page not found error. The url for the found doc shows as: <SES computername.domain:port/docserver?docid=1866
    If I click on the "cached" link, I can see the document just fine and the url displayed is:
    http://computername.domain:port/search/query/cache.jsp?id=438567&q=%&fid=
    So, obviously, I still don't have the url for the docsever right.
    Anyone have any ideas, please?
    thanks,
    Leah

    Hi Leah,
    The display URL for a Database Source should point to a separate server that provides web access to the document. It is not meant to point back to the SES instance. As the Admin Guide states:
    "This connector requires that there is URL-based access to the records in the result set of the view or query."
    In other words, the display URL should be something you can copy/paste into your browser location bar to view the document, with the other server rendering the document information to a user completely independently from SES.

  • Extractor for payroll reads data from cluster PCL2?

    Hello all,
    This is the line from help.sap in payroll extractor.
    "The extractor for payroll results reads data from payroll cluster PCL2, not from standard tables."
    Can someone explain to me what do we have to understand from that, and where in R/3 do we have to go and check for data.
    Thanks in advance.

    Anytime some of last information does not upload in delta to BW from payroll because payroll has a process to close it had to be executed (or something like that (sorry, i haven't enough funcional HR knoledge), it happened to me anytime).
    But, surely the user that you are using for extraction has no enought rights or authorizations.

  • Standard extractors for pricing conditons in CRM

    HI Guys,
    I would like to extract pricing conditions from CRM and wondering if there is a standard extractor for that.
    thanks

    Hi Bhat,
    There is no standard CRM datasource to extract pricing information. I have attached a document to this message with a suggestion on how you might create your own extractor to load the pricing information, see the document pricingconditionssuggestion.DOC. Please note that this is only a suggestion and there is no guarantee that it will work
    or meet your requirements. If you implement the suggestion though please let us know the results.

  • Backup Not Starting for 'Whole database offline + redo log backup' @ DB13

    Hi Experts,
    I am not able to perform 'Whole database offline + redo log backup' by DB13.
    I have recently configured my 'init<SID>.sap'  to take 'Whole database online + redo log backup' and its working perfectly fine.
    I tried taking test backup for  'Whole database offline + redo log backup'  but it didn't even  started.
    Thus I created another profile with name init<SID>back.sap  and changed the Parameter
    from 'backup_type = online'  to 'backup_type = offline' and also tried by 'backup_type = offline_force'
    rest all parameters being same as the profile  init<SID>.sap
    Kindly Suggest as I need to take set the backup Strategy as  Mon-Fri  -> 'Whole database offline + redo log backup'  and Sat ->  'Whole database offline + redo log backup'
    One more Query : While taking the redo log backup by DB13 why is it that some times it only saves the Files and some time it
    saves and delete the files from the '/oracle/<SID>/oraarch'  location. Please throw some light over this matter also.

  • Do I need VXML Port Licenses for CVP Database Lookup.

    Hi,
    Please let me know that whether VXML Port Licenses are required for CVP Database Lookup.
    I am using CVP just for prompt playing in my scenario,
    Appreciate your response.
    Thanks,
    Manish

    [email protected],To make database integration with your IVR, you have different alternatives :1- Use the 'DB Lookup' node ICM scripting node for simple SELECT transactions on SQL Server databases2- Use an 'Application Gateway' component with ICM scripting for more complex database operations on different type of databases. Application Gateway is a software component developed by Cisco partners to make ICM scripts interact with different databases.3- Use VXML scripts. VXML scripts can connect and interact with any kind of databse using the JNDI protocol. You will need a VXML Studio license (to develop the VXML applications) and a CVP Server for VXML Servers (you need to deploy VXML servers on which you will deploy your VXML applications)Hope this will help.
    Good summary. If I can comment ....
    1. DBLookup is so restrictive it is not typically useful for looking up ANIs in a customer DB. It is useful for other things to do with routing - say a DNIS lookup to control some aspect of routing. Look up the restrictions on DBLookup if you don't believe me.
    2. This may be an expensive proposition. Unless you have in-house experience with something like a CTI all events bridge and the ability to code to the required heartbeat interface, you will find building an app gateway tricky. You also need to be in the Cisco Developer's Program ($25k). I have colleagues write app gateways in C++ and VB.NET, so it's possible - just not trvial. For a huge load, this may be the only suitable method, however.
    3. This is the way to go. JNDI is NOT a protocol - it is a naming standard. The protocol that the client (your application running under Tomcat) uses to talk to the server (the database out there) is defined by the library - the JAR file - you hook into it in VXMLServer\lib\endorsed. Through the JNDI specification in Tomcat\conf\server.xml you indicate the host, user name, password and client library that the system needs. Tomcat uses connection pooling to manipulate a pool of connections (threads) giving a more efficient database query system.
    You can then add an additional sepcification through context.xml that allows you to use the JNDI spec in your VXML Database Element.
    If you like coding in Java, you can write a Custom Action Element to use the JNDI (and therefore connection pooling), making your query and manipulating the result. This is the way I do it because I'm a competent programmer. Most will use the Database Element.
    Finally, you could write a Java Custom Action Element that does not use the JNDI at all, but given the server, user, password and database through the settings, opens a connection, runs the query, and closes the connection.

    Geoff

  • Multiple DB DBLOCK SIZE for warehouse database?Suggest

    Hi All,a faculty from Oracle University told me the idea behind having the multple DB DBlock sizes in Oracle is not the performance but just for the Transporting tablespaces ....Just confirm is that true??????
    Database architects here are using larger Block sizes for tablespaces for Warehouse database....which I guess is of not any use...what you say?

    Database architects here are using larger Block sizes for tablespaces for Warehouse database....which I guess is of not any use...what you say?Gagan,
    one important point that is often overlooked in this discussion is that the cost based optimizer does a questionable job when dealing with objects in non-standard block size tablespaces when it comes to costing full segment scans (full table scans / index fast full scans).
    The Oracle runtime engine adjusts the multi-block read size in non-standard block size tablespaces accordingly, which means that e.g. given a multi-block read count (MBRC) of 8 and a default block size of 8K it will attempt to request 64K (whenever possible, there are cases where this is not possible, reaching extent boundaries or blocks already in the buffer cache).
    So in a 16K non-standard block size tablespace the MBRC will be adjusted to 4 at runtime (4*16K = 64K), and the same happens e.g. in a 2K non-standard tablespace where it will be adjusted to 32 (32*2K = 64K).
    So apart from effects outlined above that might lead to a reduction of the actually requested multi-block read size there is no difference at runtime with regards to performing a full segment scan.
    But unfortunately the cost based optimizer doesn't reflect this runtime behaviour properly, especially if CPU costing is enabled, which is the default in 10g and later.
    I've recently run some test cases regarding this particular issue which were provided by Jonathan Lewis as part of the "Cost Based Oracle - Fundamentals" book against the 10.2.0.4 and 11.1.0.6/7 release and they show that the cost estimates are at least questionable. By the way, although I've run the tests against 10.2.0.4 and 11.1.0.6/7, they correspond to the results of previous releases, so the same applies to 10.1 and 9i as well.
    For more information, see here: http://oracle-randolf.blogspot.com/2009/02/cost-based-oracle-fundamentals-test.html
    Regarding thoughts about putting indexes in larger block sizes, Richard Foote has some interesting notes that try to explain why it probably won't matter in most cases: http://en.wordpress.com/tag/index-block-size/

    The mis-matched cases stem from my predecessor deciding he didn't like database names in lower case, so started changing in mid-stream.  I'm not sure exactly what he did or how he did it.  But that aside, the results of creating a new dbcontrol (getting two directories for the same database) still puzzling.  I started by dropping the original (emca -deconfig dbcontrol db -repos drop), which dropped the upper-case version of the directories, but left the lower-case version.  I then deleted that manually before running emca to configure a new dbcontrol, but still ended up with both versions.
    Ideas?

    The ORACLE_HOME may have been set twice with differents values in it (i.e. extra slash) before starting twice the same db.

  • 3.2 to 4.1 Upgrade - Error Handling for Unavailable Database Links

    Hi,
    I'm having a 3.2 -> 4.1 upgrade issue related to error handling for failed database links.
    I have a conditional Exists button on a page that has a SQL query to linked tables. However, for the 10 minutes every day where the target of the database link is getting a cold backup, the query fails. In the old 3.2 apex I simply got an error inside the region where the button is located but otherwise the page was still visible:
    "Invalid exists/not exists condition: ORA-02068: following severe error from MYDBLINK ORA-01034: ORACLE not available ORA-27101: shared memory realm does not exist"
    However, in apex 4.1.0.00.32 I get the following unhandled error, and clicking "OK" takes me to the edit page when logged in as developer.
    i.e., the page can't be run at all while the database links are failing in this one region.
    Error Error processing condition.

    I've done a search and read the page http://www.inside-oracle-apex.com/apex-4-1-error-handling-improvements-part-1/ but the new apex error handling isn't clear to me, and I don't know if the apex_error_handling_example provided on that page would be applicable to this situation.

    Thanks Patrick.
    The PL/SQL Function Body returning boolean condition with:

           FROM myview@MYDBLINK
          WHERE ... ) loop
            return true;
        end loop;
        return false;
    exception when others then
        sys.htp.p('Invalid exists/not exists condition: ' || sys.htf.escape_sc(sqlerrm));
        return false;
    end; Resulted in a similar issue:

    ORA-06512: at "APEX_040100.WWV_FLOW_CONDITIONS", line 148However, I created a view with the same query:
    CREATE OR REPLACE VIEW v_localview (ALERT_1)
    AS
    SELECT 1
      FROM myview@MYDBLINK ...then change the condition to look at the local view:
    begin
        for l_check in (
          select alert_1 from v_localview ) loop
            return true;
        end loop;
        return false;
    exception when others then
        sys.htp.p('Invalid exists/not exists condition: ' || sys.htf.escape_sc(sqlerrm));
        return false;
    end;As a view is simply a query I'm surprised this should make any difference but it now looks similar to the 3.2 error, inside the region, when the linked database gets its morning cold backup, and this is fine:
    Invalid exists/not exists condition: ORA-12518: TNS:listener could not hand off client connection
